Charles D. Brandenburg, builder
Homebuilder Charles D. Brandenburg, 64, of Anderson Township, died Monday at Anderson Mercy Hospital.
Mr. Brandenburg built custom homes - often doing the cabinets, carpentry and stone work himself - in the Indian Hill, Turpin Hills and Anderson Township areas.
Upon graduating from Withrow High School in 1951 he was named most outstanding athlete, playing football, baseball and baseball.
He attended Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati and in 1954 played in the minor league baseball system of the Baltimore Orioles. He also was a champion handball and racquetball player.
Mr. Brandenburg leaves his wife, Judy; children Catherine Stange of London, England, Karen Brandenburg of Madeira, Debbie Gallagher of Anderson Township, and Todd Brandenburg of Cary, N.C.; sisters Norma Strader of Anderson Township and Nancy Simpson of Florida; and five grandchildren.

Stanley Langefels, architectural executive
Architectural draftsman and former University of Cincinnati faculty member Stanley G. Langefels, 91, of Roselawn, died Wednesday.
Mr. Langefels was a former president of A. M. Kinney Inc. Architects and Engineers and vice president of its subsidiary, Processes Research Inc. He served on both firms' boards of directors. During World War II he served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a civilian in charge of military construction in this area.
Mr. Langefels joined the UC faculty in 1967 and was associate administrator of the old General Hospital.
He leaves a son, Robert Hill Langefels, of Roselawn, and three grandchildren.

JOHN B. "JACK" BECKMEYER, 87, of Delhi Township, died Wednesday.
Mr. Beckmeyer started the Cincinnati Plywood Co. in Delhi Township in 1950. It was a business where customers could have a board cut to order, according to his family, and Mr. Beckmeyer became known as the premier stair builder for contractors.
He enjoyed working with wood and made many pieces for his family. He also built five of the homes the family lived in, completing the last when he was in his 70s.
He was a member of the Lumbermen's Association and an active member of the Riverview-Delhi Kiwanis.
He leaves his wife, Virginia; sons, Jack Jr. of Whitewater Township, Jerome of North Bend, Bob of Green Township, and Jim of Dillsboro, Ind.; daughters, Mary Kindtedt of West Chester and Linda Beckmeyer of Delhi Township; sisters, Agnes Beckmeyer and Margaret Terlau, both of Ft. Mitchell, Ky.; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Medical pioneer Dr. Henry C. Beekley
Dr. Henry C. Beekley, a medical pioneer at St. George Hospital, died Friday. He was 91.
Dr. Beekley was one of the physicians who organized the first staff for St. George, and then served as staff president for several years.
He founded and served as president of St. Francis-St. George Hospital Medical Group and Associates, which assists in funding hospital needs, staff education, and research projects under physicians' direction.
Dr. Beekley also was a pioneer in the area of using stress testing to evaluate cardiac patients. He was one of the first Cincinnati physicians to use nuclear radiology for cardiac diagnosis.
He maintained an active con sulting practice on Warsaw Avenue and was honored with the Daniel Drake Humanitarian Award in 1994.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Klink Beekley.
