NORMAN NEIL STEINBERG
Norman Neil Steinberg, age 87, of Kettering, Ohio, died at 5:05 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2003 at the Walnut Creek Nursing Center in Kettering Ohio. He was born October 16, 1915 in Bradley Beach, N. J. the son of the late Herman and Mollie Maer Steinberg. Mr. Steinberg was educated at N.Y.
military Academy and the Wharton School. He was the former manager of the A. E. Starr Co. of Zanesville and the Belz Factory Outlet Mall of Orlando FL. Mr. Steinberg was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church and a former member of the Zanesville Country Club and fraternal Order of Elks Lodge # 114.
Surviving one son, Jeffrey H. Steinberg of Kettering Ohio, one sister Bernice Kravath of Berwyn PA., a brother in-law,Louis Colby of Palm Beach,FL., a sister in-law, Carol Aylwin of Coral Springs, FL., two grandchildren, Amanda A. (Shane) Retherford and Victoria J. Mays, three great grandchildren, Bradley S. Retherford,Rebecca A. Retherford and Austin M. Mays, all of West Carrollton, Ohio,several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jean Amelia Hirsh,(Jan 12, 1984) and a sister Dorothy Colby.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at the Bolin Funeral Home,1271 Blue Ave. Zanesville, Ohio with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Brown officiating. Friends may call 11:00 a.m. till service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.

FREDERICK L. HELSER
Frederick Lee Helser, age 53, of Zanesville, died at 12:17 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2003 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born September 17, 1949 in Zanesville a son of Betty Louise Brown Haller of Brenham, Texas and the late Harry Earl Helser. He was a truck driver for FLH Container Transport, owner and Operator of the Helser Body Shop, member of the Zanesville Gold Wing Chapter Y-2, Sons of American Legion and an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle rider.
Surviving in addition to his mother, is his wife, Linda Peters Helser, whom he married August 11, 1968 of the home, daughter, Malinda ( Kenneth ) Williams of Zanesville, son, Harry Helser of Chandlersville, two grandchildren; Matthew and Nikki Williams, brother; Kevin ( Renee ) Helser of Zanesville.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2003. Burial will follow at Asbury Chapel Cemetery, Hopewell.
Funeral procession for all Gold Wing Chapter Y-2 motorcycle club will form at 12:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
HAROLD (DEAN ) HULTGREN
Harold ( Dean ) Hultgren, age 78, of Blue Rock, died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at his home. He was born February 9, 1925 at Philo, Ohio a son of the late August F. & Glady Casto Hultgren. He retired from the Penn Ohio Towel Company as a delivery and salesman and had worked for Ransbottom Pottery. he was a World War II Navy veteran an a avid pool player. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local # 637.
Surviving are his wife, Charmaine Y. Smith Hultgren of Zanesville, whom he married June 21, 1967, three sons, Richard L. Hultgren of Philo, Robert E. ( Debra ) Hultgren of Blue Rock and Michael R. Barr of Zanesville, three daughters, Loretta ( Joe ) Roberts, Becky Quinn and Connie King all of Zanesville, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by daughter, Patty Pfiefer and sister Lavonne Getter.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m.Friday, July 18, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday with Rev. J. Stephen Harrop officiating. A caring cremation will take place with burial at Duncan Falls Cemetery at a later date.
MILDRED HARROP
Mildred Harrop, age 90, of Zanesville died at 9:33 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2003 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital emergency room. She was born April 7, 1913 at Rushville, Ohio a daughter of the late Benton and Martha Cooper Snider. She was a secretary for Swingle Motor Co. and was a member of Church of The Brethren in Thornville.
Surviving is her loving husband of 65 years, Wendell Harrop of the home whom she married June 25, 1938.
No calling hours will be observed. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2003 at Zanesville Memorial Park. Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville entrusted with arrangements.
EDWIN D. " EDDIE " WISECARVER
Edwin D. " Eddie " Wisecarver, age 47 of Roseville passed away on July 3, 2003 at his home with his family surrounding him.
Eddie married Kathy Carothers July 13, 1974 and they where blessed with three children, Michael, Jason and Lisa Dawn and five grandchildren. Also surviving are his parents, Vibert and Mabel Rowland Wisecarver, two brothers, Vibert & David and one sister, Janie
Eddie was a good Ol Boy and everybody's friend. He enjoyed riding his Shadow with his biker buddies. Eddie was a hunter and fisherman. The one thing he enjoyed the most was being with his family. He was employed by Burley Clay for several years until he became ill.
He was preceded in death by his brother William Wisecarver.

THOMAS A. McGRAIL
Thomas Albert McGrail, 60 of Zanesville, died at 8:17 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital emergency room. He was born December 12, 1942 at Zanesville a son of the late Robert McGrail and Esther Johnson McFerren. He was employed in the Facility Services at The Longaberger Co.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita Perry McGrail of the home, whom he married February 7, 1965, four daughters; Shannon Neff of Zanesville, Missy ( Luke) Mallett of New Concord, Judy ( Eric ) Blattert of Indianapolis, Ind., and Tommy Sue McGrail of Zanesville; one son, Robert ( Kim ) Birkhimer, six grandchildren; Bob Birkhimer, Adam Mallett, Eric McGrail, Mandi Birkhimer, Emma Birkhimer and Gabby Birkhimer, Three great grandchildren; Skyler Paige Mick, Lochlan Birkhimer and Aramis Birkhimer, one sister, Eleanor McGrail, five nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by one brother, Robert McGrail and one niece, Violet Neal.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until service time Friday, July 4, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, with Rev. Roy Keyser officating. A caring cremation will take place with burial at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery.
CHARLES WILLIAM LEWIS SR.
Charles William Lewis Sr., age 83, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 8:40 AM Friday, June 27, 2003, at his residence. He was born October 11, 1919, in Ocean City, MD., the son of the late William James and Agnes Edwards Lewis. Mr. Lewis was a wood pattern maker at Hazel Atlas Plant # 1 and the Zanesville Mould Co. where he retired in 1982. Charles was a loyal member of Local
520 for many years and served as their president. He was a member of the Market St. Baptist Church for 74 years and a member of the Crusaders Class. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Amity # 5 F & AM, a member of Amrou Grotto # 45, Member of the Eagles Lodge # 302 and AFGWU. He was a US Navy Veteran from 1944 through 1947 serving at Pearl Harbor,
Hawaii. Charles was an avid golfer and a member of the work force that built the back nine holes at the Jaycee Golf Course.
Surviving is his wife, Arleen Harper Lewis, whom he married June 24, 1940, his five children, Charles (Sondra) Lewis Jr. of Zanesville, Dana (Diane) Lewis of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Robert (Charlene) Lewis of Zanesville, Oh., Jerry (Lori) Lewis of Bluffton OH.,one daughter Christy (Ken) Wilson of Zanesville, Oh., a former daughter in-law Vickie Hall Lewis of New Philadelphia, OH., twelve grandchildren, Roxanne, Bryan (Sheri), Kevin, Shari, Jennifer, Susan, Jamie, Jessica and Jonathan Lewis, Amy (J. T.) Ansel, Lauren and Jenna Wilson, eight great grandchildren, a sister, Elsie Noe Neal of Zanesville, OH., a brother Tom (Martha) Lewis of Heath OH and many nieces & nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Sally L. Lewis.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2003, at the Market St. Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Johnston officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. Masonic services will be held at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. Monday and Amrou Grotto services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday.

SOPHIA D. SMITH
Sophia D. Smith, 89 of Zanesville, died at 7:05 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at Genesis Bethesda Hospital. She was born May 7, 1914, in Athens, Co., Ohio a daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Vamos Chakey. She retired from Custom Bobbin as a tester and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Donna ( Mike ) Iden of Nashport, two sons, Darrell Smith of Lakeland, Fl. and Dane Smith of Zanesville, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death besides her parents, her husband, Raymond Smith who died October 1, 1944, one son, Dean Smith, one daughter, Diane Smith, two brothers, Joe and Frank Chakey and one sister, Elizabeth Carter.

CHESTER E. ( CHET ) NICHOLSON
Chester E. ( Chet ) Nicholson, age 82, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 9:25 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2003 at Genesis Hospice- Morrison House. He was born May 15, 1921 in Pleasant City, Ohio the son of the late Irl S. and Cora Allen Nicholson. Mr. Nicholson was a retired refrigeration mechanic for Nicholson Refrigeration. He was a member of the Brighton Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder and Deacon and was a tenor in the church choir for 52 years. He was a Army veteran of World Wat II in the 95th Infantry Division in Europe where he received the Purple Heart.
Surviving are his wife Marian Vivian Thompson Nicholson, of the home, daughter, Judith J. (Charles) Henry of Columbus, Ohio, son, Bruce I. (Christine) Nicholson, of Dayton Ohio, four grandchildren, Christina and Jean Henry of Columbus, Ohio, Adam Nicholson of Pompano Beach, FL. and Amy Nicholson of Dayton, Ohio, niece, Beverly Nicholson and nephew Clark Nicholson.
He was preceded in death by a brother Clarence C. (Nick) Nicholson.

William Briggs officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park with VFW George Selsam Post 1058 holding
military services at the gravesite.

CORA RUSSELL MYERS
Cora Russell Myers, 90, of Zanesville, died at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at Cedar Hill Care Center. She was born September 23, 1912 a daughter of the late Dudley Worstall & Mary Elizabeth Hennessey Russell. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, during World War II she worked for many local companies including Mosaic Tile Company and Bintz Department Store. Cora was a lifelong animal lover.
Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Ruth Russell and Sarah Russell, both of Zanesville and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Myers who died December 9, 1988, three brothers; Robert A. Russell, Daniel W. Russell and Fred W. Russell.Three sisters; Blanche Russell, Catherine Knight and Ruth Swigert.
