PAYNE - Phyllis A. Barnhart, 69, of Payne died at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 26, 1933, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the daughter of the late Bryant and Leota (Koehlinger) Arnold. She married Curtis "Barney" Barnhart, who preceded her in death in 2000.
Mrs. Barnhart retired from U.S. Food Service, Fort Wayne.
Survivors include:
Sons - Gary Burke of Payne and Herald Burke of Woodburn, Ind.
Daughter - Connie Crawford of Payne
Brothers - Roland Arnold of Houston, Texas, and Dale Arnold of New Haven, Ind.
Sister - Glenna Critchfield of Indianapolis, Ind.
Nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Payne, the Rev. Amy Haines officiating. Burial will be in Wiltsie Cemetery, Payne.

FORT JENNINGS - Ralph William Fry
Died: Friday, January 17, 2003
Age: 84
FORT JENNINGS - Ralph William Fry, 84, of rural Fort Jennings in Jackson Township, died at 10:22 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Lincolnway Home, in Ridge Township.
He was born Oct. 10, 1918, in Delphos, the son of the late Glenn and Saloma (Bryan) Fry. On Nov. 11, 1977, he married Alice (Rider) Little Wallick, who survives at Lincolnway Home.
Mr. Fry, retired farmer, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific. A member of Grace Church in Middle Point, he was also a member of Isaac Van Wert Post 178, American Legion in Van Wert, Robert G. Longwell Post 5803, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Buckeye State Sheriffs' Association and a life member of the 37th Division Veterans Association.
Survivors include one brother, Ernest (Delores) Fry of Sarasota, Fla., a sister, Marcile Crosby of Toledo, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Mercer Cemetery, Mercer.
Calling hours are 3-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are Lincolnway Home Activity Fund or Grace Church.
DECATUR, Ind. - Lois F. Krick

Age: 76
DECATUR, Ind. - Lois F. Krick, 76, of Decatur died at 5:35 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Adams County Memorial Hospital, Decatur.
She was born Oct. 3, 1926, in Pleasant Mills, Ind., the daughter of the late Elmer A. and Irene B. (Louth) Garwood. On Oct. 24, 1944, in Decatur, Ind., she married Doyle H. Krick, who preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1986.
Mrs. Krick retired in 1985 from Fleetwood Motor Homes with 13 years of service. She had also worked part time with Decatur Fabric Service.
Survivors include:
Daughters - Betty A. (William) King of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Judy D. Lambert of Fort Payne, Ala.
Son - David A. Krick of Hoagland, Ind.
Thirteen grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles R. Garwood.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, the Rev. Brian Wikoff officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
LIMA - Marilyn Elaine Martin

LIMA - Marilyn Elaine Martin, 60, died at 5:51 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 28, 1942, in Delphos, the daughter of the late Edwin and Lela (Putman) Lindeman. On July 30, 1960, she married James L. Martin, who survives in Lima.
Mrs. Martin was a homemaker who owned and operated the Dairy Island for 12 years.

Brothers - Gerald (Kaye) Lindeman and Larry (Joyce) Lindeman, both of Delphos, Paul (Betty) Lindeman of Van Wert and James (Sue) Lindeman of Ohio City
Thirteen grandchildren, Heidi (Jay) Clemons, Misty Austin, Cody Austin, Randy Barber, Danielle McConnell, Zachary Meeks, Zavier Meeks, Donavan Ebbeskotte, Drew Ebbeskotte, Alexandra Widmaier, Mathew Widmaier, Bethany Widmaier and Jamie Martin, and two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Rebecca Clemons.
She was preceded in death by one son, James L. Martin Jr., two sisters, Imogene Joseph and Dorothy Williams and four brothers, Carl, Donald, Edwin and Kenny Lindeman.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Terry Brock officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
GROVER HILL - Veronica Mary "Ronnie" Golliver

Age: 80
GROVER HILL - Veronica Mary "Ronnie" Golliver, 80, died at 8:42 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home, Van Wert.
She was born Sept. 6, 1922, in Pittsfield, Mass., the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (O'Boyle) Robinson. On Oct. 17, 1945, in Long Island, N.Y., she married Russell T. Golliver, who preceded her in death on April 14, 1995.
Mrs. Golliver was employed at General Electric in Pittsfield, Mass, and Fort Wayne, Ind. A homemaker, she was a WAC in the U.S. Army from 1943-45, serving as a surgical technician (Tech-4).
Survivors include:
Son - Michael (Becky) Golliver of Alvaton, Ky.
Daughter - Susan (John) Moon of Grover Hill
Five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Patrick, Donald and Charles, and five sisters, Ellen Willner, Margaret Cotter, Nancy Carlson, Kathryn Mancivalano and Jane Spence, and a great-grandson, Austin Golliver.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, the Rev. G. Allen Fillman officiating. Burial will be in Middle Creek Cemetery, Grover Hill, with
military graveside rites conducted by Grover Hill VFW Post 2873.
Calling hours are 2-9 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. to time of service Monday at the funeral home.
Ruth J. Hammond
Died: Sunday, December 15, 2002
Age: 86
Ruth J. Hammond, 86, formerly of Van Wert, Ohio, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, at the San Juan Rehabilitation and Care Center in Anacortes.
Ruth was born July 31, 1916, in Van Wert County, a daughter of Frank and Gertrude (Martin) Terry. On July 18, 1948, she married Robert E. Hammond, who proceeded her in death on June 13, 1976.
In October of 1998, Ruth moved to Anacortes to be closer to her family.
She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, the Lively Lutherans Club, the Women's Circle of the Church, a member of the American Business Women's Association Peony Chapter and the Van Wert American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, Terry L. Hammond of Anacortes; a daughter, Judy K. Gaede (Johnson) of Vernal, Utah; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank everyone at the San Juan Rehabilitation and Care Center for the wonderful care Ruth received.
There will be a memorial service in Anacortes for family and friends. She will be returned to Van Wert, Ohio, for a celebration of her life and burial at Woodland Cemetery.
