John C. Williams 04/19/2005
John C. Williams, age 18, of County Road 25 Cardington died Tuesday evening April 19, 2005 as a result of an auto accident. He was born September 23, 1986 in Galion, Ohio to William F. Williams of Cardington and Linda S. (West) Williams of Cardington.
John was a senior at Cardington-Lincoln High School. He loved Ag-baseball, football and video games.
In addition to his parents, John is survived by a brother, Brian and Robin Williams of Prospect and three sisters; Laura and Charles Bauer of Sunbury, Hannah and Jason Gillmon of Bexley and Sarah Williams of Cardington; three nieces and two nephews.
John was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clarence and Ruth West and paternal grandparents, Dwight and Helen Williams.
Friends may call at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington on Sunday April 24, 2005 from 2-5PM where funeral services will be held Monday at 1PM. Pastor John Jackson of Cardington First United Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Glendale Union Cemetery.
Irene M. Staiger 04/11/2005
Irene M. Staiger, age 97, of Ashley Road, Ashley, died Monday afternoon April 11, 2005 at Delaware Court Health Care Center. She was born on October 8, 1907 in Morrow County to the late Weller and Sadie (Barler) Long.
On August 12, 1926 in Marengo, Ohio she married Chester Staiger and he preceded her in death on July 6, 1985.
Irene was a sixty plus year member of Marengo United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of the Lincoln and Ashley Grange and she enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Survivors include one daughter, Ruth Bennett of Ashley; one son and his wife Robert and Jean Staiger of Marengo; 5 grandchildren and their spouses Lynn and Tim, Bee and Ken, Lee and Mary, Mark and Katie, and Shelley and Rich; 8 great-grandchildren, Missy, Crissy, Josh, Laura, Jenna, Josh, Chase and Hayden; and 1 brother Hubert Long of Mt. Gilead.
In addition to her parents Irene was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Laymen and Hazel Shaw and one brother, Earl Long.
Visitation will be held on Thursday April 14, 2005 from 5-8PM at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30AM. Reverend Beverley Hall of Marengo United Methodist Church will officiate with burial following in Fulton Cemetery.

George A. Ostrom 04/07/2005
George A. Ostrom, age 80, of Cunard Street, Cardington died Thursday morning, April 7, 2005 at his residence. He was born on January 13, 1925 in Knox County to the late Archie L. and Esther (Sprague) Ostrom.
George had worked as an assembler at Galion Iron Works for over 30 years. He was affiliated with the Fairview United Methodist Church. George loved to mow grass and to help the local elderly whenever there was a need.
On June 12, 1944 in Mt. Gilead he married the former Ruby V. Moodispaugh and she survives in Cardington.
Additional survivors include five sons and their spouses, Wayne and Linda Ostrom of Soddydaisy, TN, Michael and Nan Ostrom, Kevin Ostrom all of Cardington, Roger and Sarah Ostrum of Marengo, and Brent and Karen Ostrom of Mt Gilead; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a sister, Orpha Darst of Blyesville, Ark.
Friends may call Monday, April 11, 2005 from 4-8PM at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington. A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 11AM in Glendale Cemetery with Pastor Fred Caldwell officiating.

Louise Russell 09/07/2005
Louise Russell, age 92, a lifetime resident of Cardington died early Wednesday morning, September 7, 2005 at Community Healthcare Center in Marion. She was born September 22, 1912 in Malvern, Iowa to the late Andrew Jackson "Jack" and Jeannette M. (McDaniel) Scott.
A 1932 graduate of Cardington High School Louise had worked at Stone's Drug Store and was retired from Cardington-Lincoln Schools where she had worked as the cafeteria cashier. Louise was a member of the Cardington First United Methodist Church, Violet Twig of Morrow County Hospital, Cardington Senior Citizens Group and the Mildred Chapter # 85 of the Order of Eastern Stars. She also had served many years as a Girl Scout leader and in 1988 was honored for 35 years of service.
On March 28, 1937 in Malta, Ohio she married Harold H. Russell and he preceded her in death in 1967.
Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Charles "Chuck" and Janet Russell of Cardington; a daughter, Corintha Russell of Prince George, VA; three grandchildren, Lisa and Larry Thompson of Marion, Lynn and Alan Long of Cardington and Lonnie Russell of Mansfield; and great-grandchildren, Alexis Thompson and Megan Long.
In addition to her husband and parents, Louise was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Friends may call at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington Friday, September 9, 2005 from 1:00-2:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 2PM. Reverend John Jackson will officiate and burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery.

Phillip Ealey 09/25/2005
Phillip Ealey, age 33, of County Road 165, Cardington, died early Sunday morning, September 25, 2005 at Morrow County Hospital. He was born March 31, 1972 in Crestline.
Phillip was a 1990 graduated of Cardington-Lincoln High School. He worked as a construction laborer.
Survivors include his father, Timothy Ealey, of Florida; mother, Varance (Moodispaugh) Ealey (Mike Willey) of Cardington; 2 sons, Phillip Mark Ealey, II of Cardington and Justin Mathew Williams of Mt Gilead; grandmother Almeda Ealey of Florida; siblings, Leigh Ealey (Jarrod Morgan) of Sunbury, Amie (Matt) Crum and Jessica Ealey all of Cardington, girlfriend, Nella Porteus of Cardington; nieces and nephews, Maci Morgan, Elizabeth, Dallas, Dakota and Isabelle Crum and Mason Trevino.
Preceding Phillip in death were his grandparents, Benjamin Ealey and Charles and Mary Moodispaugh.
Friends may call Thursday, September 29, 2005 from 5-8PM at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington and from 10 to 11AM on Friday, September 30, 2005 where funeral services will be held at 11AM. Burial will be in Fulton Cemetery. A gathering will be held at the Cardington Community Center following the service.

Robin A Cooper 09/22/2005
Robin A Cooper, age 43, of Dallas, Texas died September 22, 2005. He was born February 3, 1962 in Mount Gilead to Robert P. and Bonnie L. (Hindman) Cooper who both survive in Cardington.
Robin was a 1980 graduate of Cardington-Lincoln High School. He began college for two years at the Ohio State University and worked on the Raven Magazine. Robin was a graduate of the Northwood Business College. He worked as a mortgage broker and was very active in Republican Party politics.
In addition to his parents, Robin is survived by five siblings; Dominique Adkins of Cardington, Carmel Cooper of Georgia, Carleen and Terrill Miller of Waldo, Damiana Cooper of Cardington, and Carl and Mary Cooper of Cardington; eight nieces and nephews; grandmother, Ann Cooper of Cardington, aunts, Kathleen and Mary Cooper; and uncle, Doit and Judy Cooper.
Robin was preceded in death by his twin brothers, Paul and Peter Cooper and grandparents, Carl Cooper, Roy Hindman, Mabel (Teat) Hindman Cooney, and John Cooney.
A private family service was held on Monday, September 26, 2005 at the Church of the Sacred Hearts. Followed by burial in Glendale Cemetery.
