PAYNE - Carl R Young

Age: 88
PAYNE - Carl R. Young, 88, of Payne died at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born March 28, 1914, in Payne, the son of the late James and Edna (Peterson) Young. His wife, Helen, preceded him in death in 1995.
Mr. Young was a retired dairy farmer.
Survivors include:
Sons - Richard Young of New Haven, Ind., and William Young of Payne
Daughters - Patricia Gray and Sally Young, both of Payne, and Martha Jenkins of New Haven
Brother - Jefferson Young of Fort Wayne
Five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Payne Church of Christ, Payne, Richard Phelan officiating. Burial will be in Lehman Cemetery, Payne.
Calling hours are after 5 p.m. Friday at Slade Funeral Home, Payne.
ST. MARYS - Robert Miller
Died: Monday, January 6, 2003
Age: 70
ST. MARYS - Robert Miller, 70, of St. Marys died suddenly at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, of an apparent aneurysm.
He was born Dec. 30, 1932, in Mercer County, the son of the late Hubert and Elizabeth (Painter) Miller. On Dec. 20, 1975, he married Helen Given Flinn, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Miller, a U.S. Army veteran, retired from Foremost Tool Co. and was currently employed as a school janitor at East Elementary School, St. Marys.
Survivors include:
Sons - Robert Miller Jr. of Celina and James (Donna) Miller of Mt. Airy, N.C.
Daughters - Pamela (Henry) Neal of Celina and Kathy (Bill) Dague of Berne, Ind.
Stepchildren - Rhonda Hawkins of Celina and James Flinn, Linda Boysell and Tim Flinn, all of St. Marys
Sister - Marilyn (Don) Fennig of Van Wert
Nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, six stepgrandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild also survive.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dave and Larry Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Patricia Minnick officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Evelyn A Coffelt
Died: Saturday, January 4, 2003
Age: 88
Evelyn A. Coffelt, 88, of Van Wert died at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert.
She was born July 19, 1914, in Thomasboro, Ill., the daughter of the late Joseph and Clara (Arnold) Vaske.
On Oct. 19, 1938, she married Harold Coffelt, who preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1971.
Mrs. Coffelt was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary of The Assumption Catholic Church, Van Wert.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Good of Van Wert; one son, Ron Coffelt of Delphos; a brother, Ralph Vaske of Ohio City; one sister, Betty Krugh of Van Wert; 12 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Rosalyn Fisher; three brothers, Joseph, Larry and Raymond Vaske, and three sisters, Elsie Vaske, Anita Cera and Frances Baird.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary of The Assumption Catholic Church, Van Wert, the Rev. Joseph M. Schmelzer officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Brickner Funeral Home, Van Wert, where a parish rosary service will be held at 7:45 p.m.

OHIO CITY - Betty B Kline

Age: 77
OHIO CITY - Betty B. Kline, 77, of Ohio City died at 4:20 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert.
She was born March 17, 1925, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Grover and Louise (Crowe) Stripe.
Mrs. Kline was a homemaker and had worked at Van Wert Manufacturing and Federal Mogul. She was a member of Ohio City Church of God.
Survivors include a son, Ronald D. (Paula) Kline of Van Wert; two daughters, Betty Lou (Larry) Foster of Van Wert and Kathy (Greg) Edsall of Ohio City; one brother, Franklin D. (Martha) Stripe of Van Wert; one sister, Bonnie L. (Terry) Dienstberger of Delphos; a half sister, Marjorie Paskowski of Michigan; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Stripe, Robert Stripe and Junior Grover Stripe; two half brothers, Eugene Stripe and John Leroy Paige; one sister, Catherine Conley, and a half sister, Margaret Browning.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Matthew Braun of Ohio City Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Ohio City EMS.
DELPHOS - Agnes V Liebrecht

Age: 66
DELPHOS - Agnes V. Liebrecht, 66, of Delphos died at 3:51 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 21, 1936, in Delphos, the daughter of the late Bernard and Mary (Kleman) Falke. On Oct. 9, 1954, in Delphos, she married Arnold B. Liebrecht, who survives.
Mrs. Liebrecht retired after 19 years from the rectory of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and VFW Post 305 Auxiliary, Delphos.
Other survivors include three sons, David A. (Elaine R.) Liebrecht of Springboro, Donald B. (Barbara R.) Liebrecht of West Dundee, Ill., and John J. (Sharon S.) Liebrecht of Pataskala; one brother, Bernard Falke of Delphos; two sisters, Myrtle Louth of Spencerville and Elda Calvelage of Delphos, and five grandchildren, Drew A. Liebrecht, Alex A. Liebrecht, Brian J. Liebrecht, Ryan C. Verbecken and Jess A. Verbecken.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Forest Rahrig.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Delphos.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp-Orians Funeral Home, Delphos.
Preferred memorials are St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, Kidney Foundation or American Diabetes. Association.
Mabel A. (Brown Kintz

Age: 96
Mabel A. (Brown) Kintz, 96, a resident of Vancrest Health Care Center, Van Wert, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003.
She was born Oct. 25, 1906, in Hoaglin Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Perry L. and Ethel (Coil) Brown. On June 22, 1927, she married Eugene G. Kintz, who preceded her in death Jan. 4, 1976. Infant daughter Roberta Jean, daughter Theresa Humrickhouse, sisters Frances Martin, Gladys A. Johnson and Stella B. Sells also preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory, mourn her passing and rejoice in her new life are her son, Jack and his wife, Anita (New Haven, Ind.), daughter Peg Kimball (Columbus) and brother Truman Martin and his wife, Betty (Van Wert), grandchildren, Eric and Bill Humrickhouse, Michelle Klutka, Tracy Lowe, Jody Carr, Jeff Kintz, Greg Kimball, Jeannie Uchida, Beth Cross, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many loved nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kintz was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church of which she researched and wrote the history with her late husband furnishing the pictures. She was a member of St. Mary's Altar Rosary Society, Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Catholic Hour Study Club, DAR, Van Wert Woman's Club, Chautauqua Club and Garden Study Club.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at Brickner Funeral Home, Van Wert, where there will be a parish rosary service at 7:45 p.m. Monday.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Schmelzer officiating. Burial will be in Van Wert Woodland Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church or to the donor's favorite charity.
ROCKFORD - Donald 'Butch' Eugene Stetler
Died: Friday, January 3, 2003
Age: 64
ROCKFORD - Donald "Butch" Eugene Stetler, 64, of Rockford died at 4:20 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert, where he was a patient.
He was born Dec. 12, 1938, in Decatur, Ind., the son of the late Carl and Edith (Kaywood) Stetler. On April 29, 1969, he married Marvel Etzler, who survives.
Mr. Stetler was an auctioneer.

Five grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Randy Christian officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Calling hours are 3-9 p.m. Monday and prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
WILLIS
Died: Friday, January 3, 2003
WILLIS, Texas - Bernard E. McMasters, 82, of Willis, formerly of Hudson, Ind., died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, in Conroe, Texas .
He was born Jan. 25, 1920, in Venedocia, the son of the late Paul and Vallie (Monroe) McMasters. On June 13, 1942, he married Anna Mary Hoffman, who survives.
Mr. McMasters retired from Weiker Grain Company in 1982. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, attaining the rank of sargeant, and a member of Harvey Lewis Post 348, American Legion, Ohio City.
Other survivors include one son, Gene McMasters of Willis; two grandsons, John McMasters aboard the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk, and Paul McMasters of Gatesville, Texas ; one great-grandson, Gabriel McMasters, and three cousins, Evelyn Bunton of Marion, Ind., Madonna Langford of Olive Branch, Miss., and Betty Scott of Lima.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Howard Compton of Salem Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Venedocia Cemetery, Venedocia, with
military graveside services conducted by Harvey Lewis Post 348, American Legion.
There will be no visitation.
