Frema B. Habegger
Died: Monday, June 02, 2003

DECATUR, Ind. — Frema B. Habegger, 92, died at 5:50 p.m. (Indiana time) Monday, June 2, 2003, at Swiss Retirement Center.
She was born Jan. 19, 1911, in Convoy, the daughter of the late Noah and Bessie (Clayton) Poling. On Nov. 28, 1946, she married Howard E. Habegger, who preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2000.
Mrs. Habegger was a homemaker and secretary of Monroe Grain and Supply and Monroe United Methodist Church. A member of Monroe United Methodist Church, she was also a member of Builders Sunday School Class, Church Administrative Board, Daughters of the Pilgrims, Adams Central Bible School Teacher and Better Homes Extension Club. She attended International Business College in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth L. Habegger of Naperville, Ill.; three sisters, Fortess Mohl of Fort Wayne, Ind., Alice (Dale) Hoover and Pauline (Harold) Eddy, both of Convoy, and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. (Indiana time) today at Monroe United Methodist Church, the Rev. Philip Lutes officiating. Burial will be in Backesto Cemetery, Berne, Ind.
Calling hours are noon to 2 p.m. (Indiana time) today at the church.

Juanita V. Moore
Died: Monday, June 02, 2003
Age: 83
DELPHOS - Juanita V. Moore, 83, died at 4:18 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2003, at Vancrest Health Care Center, Delphos.
She was born July 21, 1919, in Morgantown, W.Va., the daughter of the late William P. and Chleo Virginia (Wolfe) Hinton. She married Oliver Marion Moore, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Moore was a homemaker.
Survivors include:
Sons - David O. Moore (Karen Rostorfer) of Delphos and John T. (Charlotte) Moore of Indiana
Daughters - Billie V. (Frank) Williams of Arizona, Marion "Jean" (Lawrence) of Middle Point, Rinda J. (Ben) Williams of Convoy, Sharon A. (Eugene) Lause of Delphos and Debra R. Moore of Virginia
Brother - Jay Hinton of Indiana
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ezra, Eugene and William P. Hinton Jr., one sister, Wynona "Nonie" Fisher, and five grandchildren.
Twenty-six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren also survive.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Walnut Grove Cemetery, the Rev. David Howell officiating.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Harter & Son Funeral Home, Delphos.
Lester Sterling
Died: Sunday, June 01, 2003
Age: 72
DELPHOS - Lester "Bummer" Sterling, 72, of Delphos died at 7:39 a.m. Sunday, June 1, 2003, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born March 30, 1931, in Delphos, the son of the late Charles Wesley and Jessie Bell (Follas) Sterling. He married Margaret Hilvers, who survives in Delphos.
Mr. Sterling, a U.S. Air Force veteran who served for two years, worked for Harter Corporation in Van Wert for 32 years.

Brothers - Lonnie (Jeannette) Sterling, George (Etta) Sterling and Nick (Phyllis) Sterling, all of Delphos, and Frank (Lee) Sterling of California
One granddaughter, Kathy Lindeman, and two great-grandsons, Damien Lindeman and Zack Dudgeon also survive in Delphos.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebbecca Lindeman, and three brothers, Vernon, Lewis and Ray Sterling.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos, the Rev. Wayne Prater officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery with
military grave rites conducted by the Delphos Veteran’s Council.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Michael L. Knodel
Died: Sunday, June 01, 2003
Age: 59
Michael L. Knodel, 59, of Van Wert died at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born Dec. 31, 1943, in Van Wert, the son of the late William Dale and Gwendolyn Hyacinth (Jerome) Knodel. On Feb. 3, 1968, he married Linda Spoon, who survives.
Mr. Knodel owned and operated the Goodyear Shoe Store in Wapakoneta from 1970-75 and was a former auditor of the City of Van Wert, serving from 1976 until his retirement in 1982. A member of Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert, he was a 1962 graduate of Van Wert High School and attended Northwestern Business School in Lima. A U.S. Army veteran who served from 1963-66 in Korea and Vietnam, he was a member of Van Wert County Chapter of Disabled American Veterans, Isaac Van Wert Post 178, American Legion, and Robert G. Longwell Post 5803, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include two sons, Ryan M. (Julie) Knodel of Lima and Justin J. "J.J." Knodel of Findlay; a daughter, Heidi C. (Rich) Arney of Van Wert; one brother, William Richard "Dick" (Judith) Knodel of Van Wert; two sisters, Debra Knodel and Shirley (Robert A.) Young, both of Van Wert, and two grandchildren, Alexa Knodel and Alaina Arney.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Evangelical Church, Van Wert, the Revs. Raymond E. Feeck and W. Clark Williman officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert, with
military graveside services conducted by combined honor guard of American Legion Post 178 and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 5803, Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
Preferred memorials are Calvary Evangelical Church, Disabled American Veterans or Van Wert Visiting Nurses.

Robert L. Buckland
Died: Saturday, May 31, 2003
Age: 37
OTTAWA - Robert L. Buckland, 37, died at 3:50 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2003, at Medical College of Toledo.
He was born June 22, 1965, in Lima, the son of Emogene (Recker) Buckland of Ottawa and the late Raymond A. Buckland. On Oct. 31, 1992, he married Julie Kline, who also survives in Ottawa.
Mr. Buckland was a self-employed truck driver who formerly worked for ICM/Krebsoge, Van Wert.

Sons - Ryan Buckland, Robert Buckland and Timothy Buckland, all at home; a daughter, Grace Buckland at home; two brothers, John (Deb) Buckland of Mendon and Gary (Cindy) Buckland of Ottawa; three sisters, Beverly (Kevin) Schmersal of Ottawa, Sharon (Robert) McCorkle of Napoleon and Kristine (Bruce) Warncke of Wauseon.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Jean Buckland.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Assembly of Believers, Ottawa, the Rev. Larry Bibler officiating. Burial will be in Kalida Cemetery, Kalida.
Calling hours are 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa.
Jeremy Lynn Carlisle
Died: Sunday, May 25, 2003
Age: 26
PAULDING - Jeremy Lynn Carlisle, 26, died at 4:22 p.m. (EDT) Sunday, May 25, 2003, as the result of injuring sustained in an automobile-motorcycle accident.
He was born April 7, 1977, in Paulding County, the son of Ronald and Susan (Youtsey) Carlisle, who survive.
Mr. Carlisle was a self-employed general construction worker.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. (EDT) Friday at First Christian Church, Paulding, the Rev. Susan Taylor officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Paulding.
Calling hours are 2-9 p.m. (EDT) Thursday at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, and one hour prior to service time Friday at the church.
