Kenneth Gene Myers

Age: 83
ROCKFORD — Kenneth Gene Myers, 83, of Rockford died at 3:07 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2003, at Colonial Nursing Home, Rockford.
He was born Oct. 14, 1919, in Stark, Ill., the son of the late David Henry and Nellie Francis Williams Myers. On June 14, 1947, he married Loverda Howell, who survives.
Mr. Myers was a farmer.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Fern Smith Smalley.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Mike Berne officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Calling hours are 2-7 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
Mildred F. Rozelle
Died: Thursday, June 05, 2003
Age: 83
DELPHOS — Mildred F. Rozelle, 83, of Delphos died at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2003, at Plus Health Care in Lima.
She was born July 12, 1919, in Johnstown, Colo., the daughter of the late Jens and Martina (Jensen) Frederiksen. On Aug. 20, 1943, she married Paul F. Rozelle, how preceded her in death on March 30, 1964.
Mrs. Rozelle worked the the Allen County Council on Aging, was a homemaker, worked at Scherger Monument, Sheeter Auto Sales and as a secretary at Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include:
Sons — Jack (Dorothy) Rozelle of State College of Pa., and Gerald (Patricia) Rozelle of Fort Wayne, Ind.
Daughter — Joyce I. Rozelle of Centreville, Va.
Four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Delphos, the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Harter & Son Funeral Home, Delphos, where an Order of Eastern Star service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Pastor Dennis Doyle Pollock
Died: Wednesday, June 04, 2003
Age: 56
OOLTEWAH, Tenn. — Pastor Dennis Doyle Pollock, 56, of Ooltewah, went home to be with the Lord he loved and served Wednesday, June 4, 2003.
A resident of the Ooltewah area for the past 15 years, he was formerly of Houma, La. He was a 1965 graduate of Van Wert High School in Van Wert, Ohio, and a 1980 graduate of Tennessee Temple University.
He started and pastored Liberty Baptist Church in Houma from 1980-88 and pastored Pine Ridge Baptist Church from 1988 until he could no longer pastor because of Lewy Body Dementia in 1999.
His love for the Lord and the Word of God was always evident in his life. His life is an example of what he believed — "God makes no mistakes."
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Josephine St. Aubine, and grandparents, Pete and Edith Thatcher.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carolyn Herbert Pollock of Ooltewah; his father, Vernon Pollock of Texas, his mother, Mildred Thatcher Osenga of Cloverdale; four children, Dennis Doyle Pollock Jr. of Birchwood, Tenn., Dawn Legg of Rossville, Ga., Rachel Shipp of Nashville and Rebekah Pollock of Ooltewah; one sister, Vicki Rice of Texas ; a brother, David Pollock of Texas ; four grandchildren, Aaron Legg of Rossville, Brian and Katy Pollock, both of Birchwood, and Britni Shipp of Nashville, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pine Ridge Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Calling hours are after 2:30 p.m. today at the church with a Celebration of Life service at 7 p.m. today. Visitation Saturday will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association.

Carolyn S. Johnson

Age: 66
ROCKFORD — Carolyn S. Johnson, 66, of Rockford died at 11:18 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at The Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.
She was born June 23, 1936, in Chesterfield, Ind., the daughter of the late Perry and Jean I. Grier Brandon. In October 1970, she married Paul E. Johnson, who preceded her in death on June 22, 1993.
Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker.
Survivors include:
Sons — Clinton O. (Rebecca L. Cook) Smith and Daniel G. (Lisa C.) Smith, both of Celina, and Rance Johnson of Rockford
Daughter — Kachina Johnson of Rockford
Brothers — Jack Brandon of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Paul (Janet) Brandon of Downyville, Calif.
One grandson and three stepgrandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by a twin brother, Michael Brandon, and a sister, Martha Jane Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Robert Loar officiating. Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville, Ind.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A luncheon for family and friends will be served from 4-6 p.m. at New Horizons Community Church outside of Rockford.
Lester Imler
Died: Tuesday, June 03, 2003
Age: 78
SPENCERVILLE — Lester "Pete" Imler, 78, of rural Spencerville, died Tuesday afternoon, June 3, 2003, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, following a sudden illness.
He was born Jan. 29, 1925, in Spencerville, the son of the late Dewey and Mabel (Taylor) Imler. On June 22, 1947, he married Dorothy M. Baer, who survives.
Mr. Imler retired after 40 years as a tool & die maker at Hayes-Albion/Trim Trends Corp. in Spencerville and farmed and remodeled homes. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II.

Sons — Terry J. (Robin) Imler of Marietta, Ga., and Toby J. (Nyla) Imler of Rochert, Minn.
Sister — Peggy (Joe) Rapp of Tucson, Ariz.
Brother-in-law — Homer Bell of Spencerville
Four grandchildren, Jason, Korine, T.J., and Kristal, and two great-grandchildren, Brittney and Katelyn, also survive.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Bell.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, the Rev. Don Byard officiating. Burial will follow in Spencerville Cemetery where graveside
military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion posts, both of Spencerville.

B. Lee Himmeger
Died: Tuesday, June 03, 2003
Age: 69
DELPHOS — B. Lee Himmeger, 69, of Delphos died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Aug. 2, 1933, in Delphos, the son of the late Clarence S. and Charlotte (Weathers) Himmeger. In 1952, he married Billie Jo Brittingham, who survives in Delphos.
Mr. Himmeger served as a principal in Ayersville for 12 years, athletic director for 23 years and summer program supervisor for 24 years. He taught for a total of 34 years — 24 years at Ayersville, 8 years at Upper Sandusky and 2 years at Zanesville. He coached baseball for 33 years and made three trips to the State Championships Class A, and won 2 out of 3 of those. He coached baseball for 23 years, track for 10 years, tennis for 4 years and golf for 7 years. He retired in June 1990.

Six grandchildren, Rachel, David, Elizabeth, Jacob and Carter Himmeger and Taylor Thompson, also survive.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ivan Himmeger.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Delphos, the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos.
