Nancy L. Shriver

Nancy L. Shriver, 68, of Van Wert died at 11:21 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born Dec. 14, 1934, in Convoy, the daughter of the late Hy and Marie (McNew) Davis. On June 21, 1953, she married Donn C. Shriver,w ho survives.
Mrs. Shriver was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert. She had formerly been a nurses aide at the old Van Rue Hospital in Van Wert and also a floral designer at the Van Wert Greenhouse. She was a leader in WSCS, a member of the Wassenberg Art Center in Van Wert, active in Scouting and served as a 4-H leader.
Other survivors include two sons, Samuel D. (Lori) Shriver of Van Wert and Daniel A. Shriver of Los Angeles, Calif.; one sister, Janet (James) Bell of Harlan, Ind., and a half sister, Margaret McNew of Van Wert.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, the Rev. Paul Miller officiating.
Calling is 1 p.m. to service time Friday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
DeLane S. Bowman

Age: 71
MONROE, Ind. — DeLane S. Bowman, 71, of Monroe, died at 5:40 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2003, at Adams County Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Ind.
Mr. Bowman served as a U.S. Marine Corps staff sergeant during the Korean Conflict.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. (Indiana time) Friday at MRE Cemetery, Berne, Ind., with
military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post 43.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. (Indiana time) today at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur.
Evelyn Jane Mann
Died: Monday, June 09, 2003
Age: 83
DELPHOS — Evelyn Jane Mann, 83, of Delphos, died at 3:20 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2003, at Koester Pavillion Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 6, 1919, in Logan County, the daughter of the late Darwin and Eva Clark Sprague. She married Louis Mann, who preceded her in death on July 19, 1985.
Mrs. Mann was the manager of several shoe stores and a homemaker.
Survivors include:
Son — Carl (Virginia) Mann of Dayton
Sister — Maxine Herring of Sidney
Brother — Warren (Zelna) Sprague of Jackson Center
Seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Mann, three brothers, Wilbur, Robert and Homer, and two sisters, Grace Sprague and Pauline Bell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3 p.m. today at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Rev. Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.

Rev. Lauchland C. Oliver
Died: Thursday, September 11, 2003
Age: 77
Rev. Lauchland C. Oliver, 77, formerly of Portsmouth, died at 5:45 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Aug. 14, 1926, in St. John’s, Antigua, the son of the late Anthony Oliver and Lena (Murn) Oliver Jarvis. On Dec. 27, 1951, he married Jean Annette Matthew, who preceded him in death.
Rev. Oliver was a retired Methodist minister serving mainly in Ohio and Florida.
Survivors include:
Sons — Karle (Stacey) Oliver of Van Wert, Irving Oliver of Phoenix, Ariz., Daniel Oliver and Clinton Oliver, both of the West Indies
Daughters — Olivette (David) Pagan of Newark, N.J., and Gretel Oliver of New York, N.Y.
Sister — Camilla Brown of New York, N.Y.
Four grandchildren, Robert, Anthony, Trey and Isaiah Oliver, also survive.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Oliver and Lauchland Oliver Jr., and a brother, John James Oliver.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
David Lee Roether

Age: 71
CELINA — David Lee Roether, 71, of Celina died at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
Mr. Roether was a U.S. Army veteran of the
Korean War.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Tim Clutter officiating. Burial will be in Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina, with
military graveside services.

Lula Marie Wiley

Age: 89
COLUMBUS — Lula Marie Wiley, 89, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at Manorcare Health Center.
She was the daughter of the late James and Laura Kline. She married Gerald R. Wiley Sr., who preceded her in death.
Survivors include:
Children — Gerald (Pamela) Wiley Jr., Patricia (Daniel) Shields, Ronald (Judy) Ridenour, Nora Wells and Shirley (Wayne) Campbell
Eighteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Several siblings preceded her in death.
Graveside service and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Huston Cemetery, Forest.

Elizabeth Ann Roberts

Age: 78
BRYAN — Elizabeth Ann Roberts, 78, died at 2 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at Harborside Healthcare, Bryan.
She was born Nov. 9, 1924, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the daughter of the late Carl W. and Ota Belle (Hartford) Roberts.
Mrs. Roberts was a homemaker.
Survivors include:
Daughters — Terry (Wally) Daniels of Paulding and Cheryl Peters of Angola, Ind.
Sister — Gwendolyn Miller of Stockbridge, Mich.
Seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heather Dix.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. (EDT) Saturday at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, the Rev. Dwight Bowers officiating. Burial will be in Harlan Memorial Cemetery, Harlan, Ind., at a later date.
