DELPHOS — Joseph A. Kimmet, 83, of Delphos died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at Roselawn Manor, Spencerville.
He was born Nov. 7, 1919, in Van Wert County, the son of the late Aloysius and Clara (Mueller) Kimmet. On May 17, 1947, he married Betty Jane Bardo, who survives in Delphos.
Mr. Kimmet worked for Clark Equipment for 39 years.

Sons — Dennis (Dianne) Kimmet, David (Deb) Kimmet and Daniel "Kermie" (Cindy) Kimmet, all of Delphos
Daughter — Deb (Dareld) Nye of Elida
Sisters — Helen (Harry) Leibrecht and Alice (Art) Bonifas, both of Delphos, and Barb (Ralph) Hohlbein of Whitehouse
Ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold and Carl Kimmet, and a sister, Emma Rose Kimmet.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos, the Rev. Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Delphos.
Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. today and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Harter & Son Funeral Home, Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Friday.
Armilla M. Kill
Died: Tuesday, August 26, 2003
Age: 99
DELPHOS — Armilla M. Kill, 99, of Delphos died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at Vancrest Health Care Center, Delphos.
She was born Oct. 26, 1904, in Landeck, the daughter of the late Peter and Rosina (Williams) Schwinnen. She married William Kill Sr., who preceded her in death in 1959.
Mrs. Kill worked at Westinghouse during the war and at St. John’s for 21 years in the cafeteria.
Survivors include:
Daughters — Angeline (Max) Miller and Angela (Richard "Dick") Moorman, both of Delphos
Sixteen grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by a son, William Kill Jr.; two brothers, Raymon and Aloysius "Ollie" Schwinnen; two sisters, Margaret Hotz and Edith Baroni, and two great-grandchildren, Ryan Miller and Danielle Smith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos, the Revs. Thomas Gorman and Robert Kill officiating. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Delphos.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos, where a parish wake service is set for 7:45 p.m. today and a Catholic Ladies of Columbia service by Landeck Council 84 set for 7:15 p.m. today.
Marjorie Marie Parrish

Age: 97
PAULDING — Marjorie Marie Parrish, 97, died at 5:05 p.m. (EDT) Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, in Vancrest Health Care Center, Van Wert.
She was born June 6, 1906, in Paulding County, the daughter of the late James C. and Iva (Corbin) Parrish.
Ms. Parrish was employed by General Motors, Flint, Mich., from 1927-44, Roberts Shoes, Sommerville, N.H., and was the owner/operator of the Cubby Hole Restaurant, Flint.
Survivors include:
Sisters — Irene Baker of Traverse City, Mich., and Mary Rhodes of Demming, N.M.
Sister-in-law — Gretchen Parrish of Traverse City
Nephews — Robert Parrish and William Parrish, both of Paulding
Four stepchildren, many stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren and stepgreat-great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, George, James and Ernest, and three sisters, Opal Parrish, Esther Pierce and Audre Parrish.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. (EDT) Wednesday at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. Burial will be in Bowholtz Cemetery, Paulding.
Visitation is one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Ruth V. Swartz
Died: Monday, June 09, 2003
Age: 80
DELPHOS — Ruth V. Swartz, 80, of Delphos died at 11:25 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2003, at Vancrest Health Care Center, Delphos.
She was born May 30, 1923, the daughter of the late John Milton Berryhill and Stella (Smith) Berryhill Carmean. On July 12, 1941, she married Walter E. Swartz, who preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1989.
Mrs. Swartz was a homemaker and also taught Sunday School at First Assembly of God Church and played the organ. She was the owner of the WICK craft store in Delphos. A member of New Hope Christian Center in Elida, she attended Middle Point High School. She taught crafts, ceramics, candle making, cake decorating and playing the organ.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlene (Gerald "Butch") Teman of Delphos and Sheryl (Pastor James) Menke of Elida; two sisters, Mildred Dudgeon of Edgewater, Fla., and Goldie Hurlbert of Ada; 11 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Vickie Jean Krugh; three brothers, Raymond, Leo and Lloyd Berryhill; three sisters, Mary Allene Bauer, Flossie Miller and Charlotte Amstutz; one grandchild, David J. Menke, and a great-grandchild, Caleb Recker.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at New Hope Christian Center, Elida, the Rev. Jim Menke officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Calling hours are 6-8 p.m. today and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Harter & Son Funeral Home, Delphos, and an hour prior to service time Friday at the church.
Preferred memorial is Alzheimer’s Foundation.
Eugene H. Siefker
Died: Monday, June 09, 2003
Age: 69
DELPHOS — Eugene H. Siefker, 69, of Delphos, died early Monday afternoon, June 9, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 6, 1933, in Allen County, the son of John and Wilma (Landwehr) Siefker
Mr. Siefker worked at the cigar factory for 15 years and KP Industry for 27 years as a janitor.

Brothers — Kenneth (Alice) Siefker of Metamora and Robert (LaDonna) Siefker of Delphos
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Siefker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos, the Rev. Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
Calling hours are 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Harter & Son Funeral Home, Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday.
Margaret Bertke
Died: Monday, June 09, 2003
Age: 80
CELINA — Margaret Bertke, 80, of Celina died at 4:35 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2003, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
She was born Nov. 24, 1922, in Celina, the daughter of the late Charles J. and Jennie Alice (Hole) Gray. On Sept. 27, 1941, she married Earl R. "Red" Bertke, who preceded her in death on May 9, 1992.
Mrs. Bertke retired from Mersman-Waldren Furniture in Celina where she worked for 10 years.

Daughter — Sharon (Jack) Bolenbaugh of Van Wert
Sisters — Lela Partin of Van Wert and Velma Quinter of Dayton
Son-in-law — Walter Rammel of Fort Recovery
Sister-in-law — Rosie Grey of Celina
Ten grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael; two daughters, Barbara Rammel and Janice Elaine Bertke; four brothers, Charles "Arlie", Richard, Larry and Gerald; three sisters, Edith Adams, Mary Ellen Jutte and Betty Cummins, and a grandson, Peter Charles Bertke.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, the Rev. Richard R. Riedel officiating. Burial will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to time of services Thursday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina.
