Linda L. Odenweller
Died: Thursday, July 31, 2003
Age: 60
DELPHOS — Linda L. Odenweller, 60, of Delphos died at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2003, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
She was born April 3, 1943, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late William Dean and Alice L. (Mohler) Rice. On May 17, 2003, she married Joseph D. Odenweller, who survives at the residence.
Mrs. Odenweller had worked at Eaton Corp. in Van Wert for 18 years, Central Mutual Insurance Company in Van Wert and Mershman’s Brothers in Rockford. A 1961 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School, she was a member of Ohio City Church of God, presently attending St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. She was also a member of Glass Society Corvette Association and Northwest Ohio Garden & Pond Society.
Other survivors include a daughter, Cheryl L. (Paul) Rutledge of Risingsun; two sons, Danny Plasterer and George Clarke, both of Toledo; four stepsons, Bruce (Jodi) Odenweller, Daryl Odenweller, Ryan Odenweller and Brent Odenweller, all of Delphos; three brothers, Charles D. Rice, Rodger D. (Barbara) Rice and Gary L. (Phyllis) Rice, all of Ohio City; two sisters, Ruth (James) Hill of Van Wert and Barbara (Kenneth) Hill of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three sisters-in-law, Elaine (Jim) Hogan of Curtice, Ellen (Jim) Gordon of Delphos and Ann Odenweller of Baton Rouge, La.; two brothers-in-law, Jerry (Sally) Bolenbaugh of Rockford and Don Jent of Ohio City; two grandchildren, Grant Rutledge and Adam Rutledge, both of Risingsun; two stepgrandchildren, Ian and Lindsey Odenweller, both of Delphos, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Jay Rice, and two sisters, Marilyn Bolenbaugh and Joyce A. Jent.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Revs. Brad Adams and Paul Rutledge officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery, Delphos.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Ohio City EMS.
Carl T. Gear
Died: Sunday, June 29, 2003
Age: 53
MIDDLE POINT — Carl T. Gear, 53, of rural Middle Point died at 10:03 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert.
He was born Jan. 27, 1950, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the son of Jack R. and Mary L. (DuVall) Gear, who survive. On June 14, 1986, he married Kim (Miller) Crager, who also survives.
Mr. Gear has been disabled since Aug. 14, 1987 due to a semi truck accident. He was an active member of the Boy Scouts when he was younger and received the Eagle Scout award.
Other survivors include his children, Jody (Paul) Cline of Sturgis, Mich., and Jeff (Gretchen) Gear of South Bend, Ind.; one stepdaughter, Kristy (Gary) Rogers of Van Wert; three brothers, John (Donna) Gear of Georgia, Dale Gear and Mark Gear, both of Middle Point; a sister, Carol Gear of Auburn, Ind.; three grandchildren, Paul Cline III, Courtney Cline and Christopher Carl Thomas Cline, and five stepgrandchildren, Chris, Amanda, Allison, Madeline and Mason Rogers.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point, the Rev. Paul Miller officiating.
Calling hours are noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert.
Preferred memorial is the Thomas Edison School in Van Wert.
Beulah Mary Stoller
Died: Saturday, June 28, 2003
Age: 91
OAKWOOD — Beulah Mary Stoller, 91, died at 12:35 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2003, at Harborside Healthcare Center, Defiance.
She was born Sept. 12, 1911, the daughter of the late William E. and Eunice Christman. On Jan. 11, 1933, she married Roy C. Stoller, who preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1994.
Mrs. Stoller was a homemaker.
Survivors include:
Sons — Dennis (Joyce) Stoller of Defiance and Jerry (Mary) Stoller of Bryan
Daughters — Brenda (James) Mullen of Oakwood, June (Richard) Stillwell of Fountain Valley, Calif., and Sharon (Darwin) Bodenbender of Salem, Ore.
Sixteen grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dallas Stoller; three grandchildren, Cindy, Darrin and Randal Stoller; one great-grandchild, Tanner Martin; two brothers, Edward and Justus Christman, and two sisters, Helen Christman and Dorothy Riggenbach.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. (EDT) Wednesday at Latty Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery with the church clergymen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling hours are 2-9 p.m. (EDT) Tuesday at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, and one hour before services Wednesday at the church.
Ruth B. McMichael
Died: Thursday, June 26, 2003
Age: 91
ANTWERP — Ruth B. McMichael, 91, of Antwerp, died at 8:09 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2003, at Dallas Lamb Foundation Home, Payne.
She was born June 15, 1912, in Mark Center, the daughter of the late Byron E. and Mary Bryan. In 1939, she married John Gaylord McMichael, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. McMichael worked for seven years at Dana Weatherhead.
Survivors include:
Sons — Donald Rickels of Sherwood, Byron McMichael of Los Angeles, Calif., Jimmy McMichael of Cecil, and Olen McMichael, Larry McMichael and Dennis McMichael, all of Antwerp
Daughter — Dinah Collins of Antwerp
Stepdaughter — Mrs. Joe (Isabella) Reinhart Rodriguez of Paulding and Marciel (Wayne) Gordon of Cecil
Thirty-one grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, Robert McMichael.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Paulding Church of the Nazarene, the Revs. Keith Sarver and Max Begley officiating. Burial will be held Monday at Bethel Cemetery, Cecil.
Calling hours are 4-9 p.m. Sunday at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp, and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.
Wilber M. "Bill" Allen
Died: Thursday, June 26, 2003
Age: 53
GROVER HILL — Wilber M. “Bill” Allen, 53, died at 1 p.m. (EDT) Wednesday, June 26, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert, where he had been a patient for three days.
He was born June 7, 1950, in Medina, the son of the late Wilber Allen Sr. and Patricia Jane (Speaker) Allen Powery. Oct. Oct. 15, 1990, he married Lorinda Rybczynski, who survives.
Mr. Allen, a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam conflict, was a truck driver for Morrow Bulk, Millbury, for 28 years, retiring in 1993.

Sisters — Venice Swaggart of Wooster, Patricia Goff, Lori Daisy, Cheri Templeton, all of Willis, Texas, Mary Lou Barber and Donna Lee Fulkner, both of Naples, Fla.
Three grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. (EDT) today at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, the Rev. Pat Holt officiating. Paulding Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 587 will conduct
military rites. Burial will be in Clarksfield Cemetery, Wooster, at a later date.
Calling hours are 9 a.m. until time of services today at the funeral home.
Elaine L. Wright
Died: Wednesday, June 25, 2003
Age: 57
CURTICE — Elaine L. Wright, 57, of Curtice died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, in Del Webb Memorial Hospital, Sun City West, Ariz.
She was born Feb. 23, 1946, in Van Wert, the daughter of Bertha E. (Leviness) Rohr Carter of Van Wert and the late Alfred H. Rohr. On June 20, 1964, in Van Wert, she married Donald O. Wright, who survives.
Mrs. Wright worked as a licensed practical nurse with a medical course for 30 years at the Luther Home of Mercy in Williston and St. Charles Hospital in Oregon. She was a member of Bono Baptist Church, the Escapees RV Club, the Happy Trails Christian Fellowship in Arizona and the Jerusalem Township Fire Dept. Auxiliary. Her hobbies included traveling, quilting, sewing, cross stitch and especially line dancing and she always took the grandchildren traveling on vacation each year.
Other survivors include her son, Kevin M. (Debbie) Wright of Genoa, her daughter, Tamara K. (Tim) Stevens of Pensacola, Fla., and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Todd Wright.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Bono Baptist Church, Bono, with interment to follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Curtice.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Sunday in Robinson-Henn-Brossia Funeral Home, Genoa.
The family has suggested memorials to Bono Baptist Church.
