Earl E. Good

Age: 75
ELIDA — Earl E. Good, 75, of Pineville, La., formerly of Elida, died at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 20, 1927, in Elida, the son of the late Noah and Clara Good. He had been married to Elsie Focht, who survives in Bellefontaine. On July 21, 1970, he married Joanna Ackerman Contris, who survives.
Mr. Good owned Mid-City Service, Alexandria, La. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving two years.

Sons — Carl R. (Debra) Good of Bellefontaine, Edwin L. Good of Lima, William E. (Joella) Good of Galion and Earl Dean (Mary) Good of Spencerville
Daughters — Marcie A. Humphreys of Elida and Robin L. Klapp of Lima
Ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos. Burial will be in Sharon Mennonite Cemetery.

Charles R. Minyoung

Age: 71
The following obituary is being rerun to include additional information provided by the family.
Charles R. "Chuck" Minyoung, 71, died at 5:10 p.m. Aug. 5, 2003, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind. He was born in Marion to the late Roger D. Minyoung and Gladys E. Brannum Minyoung Foster on Sept. 16, 1931.
He had been married to Janet A. Sidle Johnson, who lives in Jackson, Mich. Surviving is a son, Paul Minyoung of Lexington, Kentucky; three daughters, Dawna (Michael) Davis of Van Wert, Karen (Keith) Lovejoy of Charlotte, N.C. and Julie Andrey of Detroit, Mich.
On Sept. 12, 1967, he married Romaine Maurer Brown who survives. Also surviving are two brothers, Fred Foster and Jerry Foster, both of Toledo and one sister, Diane (Foster) Hupp of Maumee. Other survivors include three stepsons and two stepdaughters; eight grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.
Mr. Minyoung was a
Korean War veteran. He was a police officer on the Van Wert Police Department for five years and also as a deputy sheriff under Wilmer L. Clay. He was formerly employed as a truck driver for Borden’s and retired from Schneider Trucking in Green Bay, Wis. He had been a driver for Westwood Behavioral Health Center in Van Wert.
There will be no public services or visitation. Arrangements are by Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert.
Charles R. Minyoung

Charles R. "Chuck" Minyoung, 71, of Van Wert died at 5:10 p.m. (EDT) Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born Sept. 16, 1931, in Marion, the son of the late Roger D. and Evelyn (Brannum) Minyoung Foster. On Sept. 12, 1967, in Van Wert, he married Romaine L. Maurer, who survives.
Mr. Minyoung was a retired truck driver from Schneider Transport, Green Bay, Wis., and currently working at Westwood Behavioral Health Center, Van Wert. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the
Korean War.
Survivors include
Sons — Kent (Arla) Brown of Hudson, Ohio, Stephen M. (Paulette) Brown and Matthew L. Brown, both of Van Wert
Daughters — Jennifer A. (Dale) Trail of Hewitt, Texas, and Karen E. (Kelly) Sargent of Bradenton, Fla.
Five grandsons and one great-grandson also survive.
There will be no public services.

Esther Mumy
Died: Tuesday, August 05, 2003
Age: 86
MARK CENTER — Esther Mumy, 86, formerly of Mark Center, died at 5:15 a.m. (EDT) Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, in Hickory Creek Nursing Home, Hicksville, where she had been a resident for three years.
She was born June 18, 1917, in Cecil, the daughter of the late Floyd and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Woodring. On May 17, 1939, she married Clarence E. Mumy, who preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 2000.
Mrs. Mumy was a homemaker.
Survivors include:
Son — Harry (Charlene) Mumy of Lyons, Ohio
Daughters — Elizabeth (Jerry) Garlock of Columbus and Ellen Jackson of New Haven, Ind.
Brother — Donald (Dorothy) Woodring of Lyons
Seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and Wayne Woodring.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. (EDT) Friday in Cecil Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Keith Sarver officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester Cemetery, Cecil.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. (EDT) Thursday at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, and an hour prior to service Friday at the church.
Helen R. Thomas
Died: Sunday, October 05, 2003
Age: 79
PAULDING — Helen R. Thomas, 79, died at 3:10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at her home.
She was born May 27, 1924, in Emerald Township, Paulding County, the daughter of the late Clement and Mildred (Workman) Musselman. In 1942, she married Edward A. Thomas, who preceded her in death on May 17, 1996.
Mrs. Thomas was a cook/supervisor for the Paulding Exempted Village School, retiring in 1990.
Survivors include:

Sister — Esther Startmeier of Angola, Ind.
Four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Thomas; two brothers, Ernie and Shirley Musselman; two sisters, Hazel Start and Altha Arnold, and a grandson, Lynn Ringler.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. (EDT) Wednesday at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery, Cecil.
Calling hours are 2-9 p.m. (EDT) today at the funeral home with a memorial service at 8 p.m. (EDT) by the Bryan Eagles Auxiliary 2233.
Mary Lou Shellabarger
Died: Sunday, October 05, 2003
Age: 74
MIDDLE POINT — Mary Lou Shellabarger, 74, of Middle Point died at 8:25 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
She was born March 24, 1929, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Elmer Bigham and Verna Irene Miller. On Nov. 14, 1948, in Van Wert, she married John J. Shellabarger, who preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1994.
Mrs. Shellabarger, a 1947 graduate of Van Wert High School, was a homemaker. She was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert and current president of the Jolly Timers organization in Middle Point.
Survivors include two sons, Terry J. (Malinda L.) Shellabarger of Van Wert and Dennis L. Shellabarger of Middle Point; two daughters, Linda L. (Jon) Lewis of Grover Hill and Marcia (Justin) Diltz of Van Wert; one sister, Alice Goschka of Jonesville, Mich.; nine grandchildren, Amber (Fred) Rodriguez, Anthony (Vicky) Shellabarger, Amy Delgado, Sabrina Delgado, Cami Delgado, Chad Diltz, Jon Diltz, April Diltz and Kristina Diltz, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Raymond E. Feeck of Calvary Evangelical Church officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Middle Point Fire Department.
