Ralph Joseph George, (Ralphie)
April 28, 1974 - March 02, 2001
Birthplace: Berea, Ohio
Resided In: Olmsted Township Ohio USA
cemetery: Sunset Memorial Park cemetery
Ralph Joseph George (Ralphie), a lifeling resident of Olmsted Township died Friday of heart failure as a complication of kidney disease while he was on vacation with his parents on Clearwater Beach, Florida. Ralph was 26 years old.
Ralph battled kidney disease his entire life and he dealt with many other medical difficulties, surgeries and hospitalizations with a strength and courage that inspired his family, friends, and the many care givers that came to know him. Ralphie's mother and father, Ralph and Maryann George were his constant companions and caregivers, they were his helpers but they were his best friends.
Ralphie was the center of his family's life, particularly for his five older sisters. He was not only their baby brother but he was truly the love of their life. Ralphie was able to draw everyone together and in so doing he was able to show all what true priorities in life are. Ralph would take the greatest joy in a family birthday party or a game of Yahtzee, even with the burden of his many health problems, he was the one cheering everyone else up, causing everyone to count their blessings.
His large circle of nieces and nephews were devoted to him. Even though Ralph frequently was ill, he was always able to put forth a huge grin and reach out for a hug and kiss when his nieces and nephews were around.
Ralphie was a long time INDIANS fan and never missed a Tribe game on television or radio. One of his most anticipated goals was to see the Indians at spring training this year and while plans were made he was too ill to go to the spring training opener last week.
Ralphie is survived by his parents Ralph R. and Maryann George, his loving sisters Donna Mikolajski (Mark), Linda Kugler (Nick), Judy Dyke (Randy), Barbara Liversidge (Edward) and Kathy Cook (Ken). His is the dearest uncle of Adam, Matthew and Jessica Spikes, Kristie, and Nicki Kugler, Jenny, Kristen and Kelsey Dyke, Zachare and Erin Liversidge, Julie and Ryan Cook. Great Uncle of three and God Father to many. Special friend to Shelly, Lee and Mark. Mass of Resurrection will be on Tuesday March 6 at 10:00am at St. Mary of the Falls Catholic Church, Bagley and Columbia Roads, Olmsted Falls, Ohio 44138. Family and friends will gather from 2-4 and 7-9pm Monday March 5th at Jenkins Funeral Chapel, 2914 Dover Center Road, Westlake, Ohio 44145. Donations are requested by the family to Our Lady of the Wayside, Avon, Ohio or St. John West Shore Hospital Dialysis Unit.
