Helen L. Hodge, 88, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana.
She was born Jan. 18, 1913, in Mechanicsburg, the daughter of the late Pearl G. and Cara McClintock Westfall.
Helen was a homemaker, a member of the Mutual Grace United Methodist Church and the Lotus Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruth (Darwyn) Swank, and son, William H. (Pam) Hodge, all of Mechanicsburg; seven grandchildren, Dana (Lisa) Swank, Tony (Andrea) Swank, Chuck (Joetta) Swank, Lori (Jerry) Love, Stephanie (Steve) Dunlap, Kris (Jenny) Hodge and J. Hodge; nine great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson, sister, Mildred Brown, of Huntington Beach, Calif., brother, William Westfall, of Mechanicsburg.
Preceded in death by husband, Charles E. Hodge, parents, a brother, Harold Westfall.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the SKILLMAN-MCDONALD FUNERAL HOME, Mechanicsburg, with Rev. Hugh Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove cemetery, Mechanicsburg. Family and friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Clarice Trimble

larice G. Trimble, 84, of Springfield, Ohio, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, in St. John's Care Center, Springfield.
She was born Sept. 18, 1917, in Pike County, Ohio, the daughter of Edward Lee and Anna (Caplinger) Green.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Earl R. and Terry Trimble and Michael L. and Diane Trimble, all of Springfield, daughter-in-law, Carolyn Trimble, of Kingscreek, Ohio, and Beverly Trimble, of Urbana, sisters, Jessie Ritchie, of Indiana, Madge Trimble, of Springfield, Julie Sowers, of Peebles, Ohio, and Elaine Hilderbrand, of Indiana, four brothers, Earl Green, of Jasper Mills, Ohio, Edward Green, of Aurora, Ind., and Elden Green, of Illinois; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond H. Trimble, three sons, James R. Trimble, Floyd E. Trimble and Richard D. Trimble, two sisters, Ruth Diehl and Maude Thompson, and three brothers, Carl Green, Lucas Green and Frank Green.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, Springfield. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Dick McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

Eleanor Landers, 92, of Lima, Ohio, and formerly of Urbana, Ohio, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at 2:45 p.m. in Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, Ohio.
She was born in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, on June 4, 1909, to Roy and Ida (Alexander) Shaw.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her sons, Richard (Sue) Landers, of Lima, Donald (Marie) Landers, of Dayton, Edward Landers, of Cincinnati; daughter-in-law, Cathy Landers, of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Tony, Bob, Dave, Denny, Carol, Joe, Jim, Cindy, Lisa, Judy, Greg, Mary and Doug; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (Ann) Shaw, of California; sisters, Polly Smith and Leona Hild, of Urbana, Betty (Ed) Jones, of Florida; sisters-in-law, Marge Shaw, of Springfield, Ruth Shaw, of Pennsylvania, and Ruth Shaw, of Urbana.

Alice F. Henry, 85, of Urbana (formerly of Woodstock), passed away at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001, in McAuley Center, Urbana.
She was born April 1, 1916, in Champaign County, the daughter of the late Edward and Ida (Jester) Lee.
Alice was a member of the old Universalist Church of Woodstock, the past activities director for the Spring Meadows Care Center (formerly Fountain Park Nursing Home), Past President of the Triad PTA, member of the Four Seasons Garden Club, a Champaign County Fair Judge, and was very active with the Memorial Day Flowers for Woodstock cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Chess, of Urbana, Judy (Ray) Wilkins, of North Richland Hills, Texas; three sons, Edward Henry, of DeGraff, Phillip (Corine) Henry, of Sarasota, Fla., Mike (Cathy) Henry, of Urbana; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Hazel Rigdon, of Wayne, Mich., Catherine Harris, of Chillicothe, Marjorie Culp, of Springfield (Northridge), Emily Patterson, of Florida; three brothers, Wilson Lee, of Columbus, Raymond Lee, of Urbana, Eugene Lee, of Florida.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Donald M. Henry; and a brother, Donald Lee.

She was a retired registered nurse from the Ohio Masonic Home, a lifetime member of the Miami Valley Hospital Alumni Association, the Women's Christian Temperance Union, and was a member of the United Church of Christ, North Hampton, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orval; a grandson, Thomas L. Smith; and a brother, Waldo.
She is survived by a son, Richard (Lucy Faye) Smith, of Urbana, Ohio; a daughter, Marilyn Hughes, of Springfield; four grandchildren, David (Carol) Smith, of Urbana, Karen (David H.) Shelby Jolynn Underwood, infant daughter of Brandy Henry and Luke Underwood, was stillborn on Aug. 3, 2001, in Community Hospital, Springfield.

Herbert Kennedy

Herbert J. Kennedy, 73, of Marysville, passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001 in The Gables of Marysville.
He was born Oct. 26, 1927 in Logan County, the son of the late John A. and Ethel M. (Organ) Kennedy.
Herb was a retired truck driver for the Commercial Carrier Company, member of the Teamsters Local No. 614 and Scottish Rite Valley of Detroit.
Survivors include nephews Robert L. (Kathy) Kennedy of Raymond, Ronald G. Eldridge of Beavercreek, John D. (Dorcas) Kennedy of California; nieces Nancy L. Kennedy and Judy A. (Dan) Adrian, all of Marysville, Linda K. (Mark) Kane of Tremont City; sister-in-law Hazel E. Kennedy of Marysville; brother-in-law Glen Eldridge of Springfield; a special Friend Mickey Eichmeier of Birmingham, Michigan; 12 grand-nieces and nephews; four great-grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Cindy Ann Kennedy (1972); brothers Robert J. and Dano E. Kennedy; sister Geneva M. Kennedy Eldridge.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the FRESHWATER-MCDONALD FUNERAL HOME, North Lewisburg, with Rev. David Cottrell officiating.

Vivian Stabler
Died: Thursday, August 2, 2001
Vivian G. Stabler, 81, of 327 Breezy Bay Drive, Gilbert, South Carolina, formerly of Quincy, Ohio, died at 3:20 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001 at Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia, South Carolina.
She was born on March 18, 1920 in Quincy, Ohio, the daughter of William J. and Lillian J. Crumby Douglas. She was a 1937 graduate of Quincy High School, was active with the Farm Bureau Association and the Election Board and was a homemaker.
She married
Junius V. Stabler on Jan. 27, 1938 in Georgetown, Kentucy and he preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1999.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Willis and Renate Stabler of Lexington, South Carolina; sister and brother-in-law, Vera and Roy Helmandollar of Quincy, Ohio; brother Howard Douglas of Ft. Worth, Texas; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Thornton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001 from 6 to 8 p.m.
A service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 6, 2001 at the REXER-RIGGIN-MADDEN FUNERAL HOME, DeGraff, with Chaplain Philip Chilcote officiating. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery, Carysville, Ohio.
Judy Ferryman

Judy A. Ferryman, 54, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2001, in Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine, Ohio.
She was born on Nov. 8, 1946, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, to Max L. Maxwell, deceased, and Imogene Johnson Maxwell.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, Michael L. (Beth) Ferryman, Lewistown, Ohio; two grandsons, Jared and Trevor; her mother, Imogene Maxwell, West Liberty, Ohio; two sisters, Gloria (Francis) Salyers, West Liberty, Ohio, and Nancy (Jim) McCullough, West Liberty, Ohio; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Max L. Maxwell, who died on June 1, 1978.
Funeral services will be at VAN HORN FUNERAL HOME, Lakeview, Ohio, at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2001, with Pastor Bryan Meadows officiating. Interment will be in Huntsville cemetery, Huntsville, Ohio. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 27 at Van Horn Funeral Home, Lakeview, Ohio.
