Kathleen F. Hurst
Died: Tuesday, February 27, 2001
Kathleen "Kay" F. Hurst, 86, passed away on Feb. 27, 2001, in St. Louis Park, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Hurst, and sister-in-law, Beatrice Hurst Bills, of Minnesota.
She is survived by children, Kathryn Hurst, Virginia (Hurst) George (Robert), and Thomas Hurst; grandchildren, Christopher Hotchkiss (Michelle) and Anthony Hotchkiss.
At her request there will be no services. Memorials can be made to Camp Superkids, American Cancer Society or Humane Society.

Iona Kagamas
Died: Wednesday, April 3, 1901
Iona Kagamas, 77, of Urbana, Ohio, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at 6:16 a.m. at her home.
She was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, on Jan. 1, 1923, to Otto and Lily Taylor.
She was a homemaker, wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John; daughters, Noel (Tim) Jones, of Springboro, Ohio, and Kelly (Kevin) Tomkies, of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Tya Branham, John Peter Jones and Duncan Tomkies; sisters, Anna McKenzie, of Devil's Lake, Mich., Garnet (Tom) Speck, of San Antonio, Texas, Fran (Edward) David, of Canton, Ohio, Evelyn (Terrill) Hay, of London, Ohio; and a brother, Robert (Janice) Taylor, of London, Ohio.
Her parents preceded her in death.
The family will host a visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2001, in the Walter-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 642 S. Main St., Urbana, Ohio.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, where a memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2001, with Rev. Tim West officiating. Burial will be in Oak Dale cemetery.
Paul Thornburg
Died: Tuesday, April 10, 2001
Paul R. Thornburg, 73, of 8170 Road 196, West Liberty, Ohio, died at 5 p.m. April 8, 2001, in Mary Rutan Hospital, in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
He was born on Aug. 25, 1927, in Urbana, Ohio, to Leo W. Thornburg and Beulah Barnett Thornburg, both deceased.
He was married
to Marlyn Nichols Thornburg on Aug. 30, 1947, in Urbana, Ohio.
Besides his wife, he is survived by sons, Michael (Judy) Thornburg, of Danville, Ind., Larry (Kathy) Thornburg, of West Liberty, Ohio, Chuck (Tammy) Thornburg, of West Liberty, Ohio, John (Ann) Thornburg, of West Liberty, Ohio, Dave (Carol) Thornburg, of West Liberty, Ohio, Tim (Debbie) Thornburg, of St. Paris, Ohio; a brother, Charles Thornburg, of Urbana, Ohio; a sister, Betty Greater, of Fairborn, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lee Thornburg.
An inspector at Siemens in Urbana, he retired in 1989 after 35 years of service. He was a 1945 Urbana High School graduate and a member of the Urbana Friends Church.
A funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. April 11, 2001, in Bethel Mennonite Church, West Liberty, Ohio, with Pastors Jim Chess and Alvin Yoder officiating. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11 at the Bethel Mennonite Church, in West Liberty.
Memorial contributions may be given to Green Hills.
Ruth Wickham

Funeral services for Ruth Aileen Wickham, 82, of 215 S. Springfield St., St. Paris, who passed away on Friday, April 6, 2001, in Mercy Medical Center, Springfield, were held on Monday, April 9, 2001, in the RICHESON-WICKHAM AND ATKINS FUNERAL HOME, St. Paris, with Rev. C. Franklin James and Rev. Tom Bolton officiating. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery. Pallbearers were Ralph, Aaron and Shawn Prince, Glen Wickham, Richard "Dick" Smith, Harold "Pid" Hill, Bill Moss and Harold "Shorty" Covault.
Erma Northup
Died: Monday, April 9, 2001
Erma L. Northup, 77, of Orlando, Fla., passed away Monday, April 9, 2001, in Orlando.
She was born Feb. 26, 1924, in Lowmansville, Ky., to the late F. DeBord and Lida (Hatfield) DeBord.
Erma was a member of the Church of Christ, and she moved to Florida in 1995.
She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Miller, of Ohio, and Judy Stokes, of Orlando; a son, Harold, R. Northup, of Oldtown, Fla.; six sisters, Opal Cordial, Rowena Borders, Eulafaye Preston, Hazel Cordial, Lena Mae Roberts and Alice Roberts, all of Ohio; a brother, Dallas DeBord, of Ohio; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the SKILLMAN-MCDONALD FUNERAL HOME, Mechanicsburg. Burial will follow the service in Maple Grove cemetery, Mechanicsburg. Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
Blanche Foust
Died: Thursday, April 5, 2001
Blanchie M. Foust, 82, of 2380 S. State Route 68, Urbana, formerly of Mechanicsburg, died at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2001, in The Wellington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Urbana, Ohio.
She was born on April 15, 1918, in DeGraff, Ohio, to Columbus Reid Edwards and Dora Blanche (Carlisle) Edwards, both deceased.
Mrs. Foust was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, William Foust, of Sidney; three daughters, Gladys Ann Johnson, of Urbana, Mary Feathers, of Middlebury, Ind., and Rose (James) Piatts, of Sidney; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Milton Edwards, of Columbus Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter; two great-grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters; and one daughter-in-law.
Graveside services will be held at noon Saturday, April 7, 2001, in Evergreen cemetery, South High Street, St. Paris. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 7, 2001, in the RICHESON-WICKHAM AND ATKINS FUNERAL HOME, 216 S. Springfield St., St. Paris.
Grace Davis
Died: Wednesday, April 4, 2001
Grace Pauline Davis, 78, of Urbana, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at 7:20 p.m. in Heartland of Urbana.
She was born Jan. 9, 1923, in Champaign County, to Basil E. and Ruth (Gehmen) Sidders.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Douglas George, of Urbana; a son, Rick Davis, of West Carrollton, Ohio; grandson, Rob George, of Urbana; and one sister, Betty (Bob) Conroy, Louisville, Ohio.
A private graveside service was held at Kingscreek cemetery.
Friends may if they wish contribute to a charity of their choice in Grace's memory. The WALTER-SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana, Ohio, is in charge of arrangements.
Roxie Greer
Died: Wednesday, April 4, 2001
Roxie B. Greer, 91, of the McAuley Center, Urbana, formerly of Springfield, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at the Community Hospital, Springfield.
She was born March 31, 1910, in Pleasant Hill, Tenn., the daughter of Robert and Mary Lou (Cooper) Leonard.
She was a negative retoucher and artist. She was a member of the East High Street Church of Christ for many years.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Joseph and Mary (Hawkins) Bennett, of Urbana, and James Greer, of Washington Court House; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lloyd and Emerald McClanahan, of Springfield, and Eugene and Winona Prattor, of Illinois; three granddaughters, Keith and Lisa (Bennett), of St. Paris, Brent and Chrissy (Bennett) Zerkle, of St. Paris, and Ica (McClanahan) Vega; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Jordan and Brooke Johannes and Aliya Zerkle, all of St. Paris; one special friend, Lillian Hawkins, of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Scott Bennett; husband, Joseph Greer; seven sisters; and two brothers.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. in Richards, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home, with Minister Philip Grear officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.

Nancy Carmack
Died: Friday, November 2, 2001
Nancy Fayth (Fluty) Carmack, of 326 Apple Road, St. Paris, died at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, in Riverside Hospital, Columbus.
She was born Nov. 19, 1956, in Troy, Ohio, the daughter of William and Jennie Fluty, also of St. Paris.
In addition to her parents, Nancy is survived by her husband of 23 years, Darryl, daughter, Jessica, brother, Bill Fluty, all of St. Paris, and numerous other relatives.
Nancy graduated from Tecumseh High School, New Carlisle, attended Georgetown College, Georgetown, Ky., and graduated from International Broadcasting School, Dayton, Ohio.
Nancy has donated her body to Wright State Medical School. Arrangements are pending for a memorial service at a later date.
Lester Spain
Died: Thursday, November 1, 2001
Lester Eugene Spain, 57, of Sebring, Fla., passed away at 10:35 a.m. Nov. 1, 2001, following a lengthy illness.
He was born Aug. 28, 1944, the son of James L. and Florence A. Spain, both deceased.
He was a graduate of Urbana High School.
He leaves behind two children, Stephen and Kim, of Florida, one sister, Joann Hinkle, of Florida, Gene Gibson, brother-in-law, Mike and Bill Gibson, nephews, and Helen Zerkle, aunt, all of Urbana.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Nora Lee (Spain) Gibson.
He was cremated and his ashes have been returned to Ohio for his final resting place.
Friends wishing to remember him may do so by making contributions to the American Cancer Society or to the organization of their choice.
Mary Louck
Died: Tuesday, October 30, 2001
Mary F. (Riley) Louck, 74, of London, died at 9:17 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, in her residence.
Born March 27, 1927, in Madison County, she was a daughter of Charles and Ethel (Baker) Tatman.
She had attended the Freewill Baptist Church in Rosedale.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Richard Dale and Kathy George, of Grove City; stepchildren, Diana Iiams, of Raymond, Beverly Floyd, of Marysville, Melissa Andrews, of Delaware, Margaret "Tiny" Statler, of Springfield, Wally Louck, of Urbana, John Louck, of Springfield, Sandy Smith, of Urbana, and Vickie Griffith, of New Jersey; grandchildren, Becky (Brett) Henkle, of London, Richard Dale George Jr. and Sheila (Bruce) Russell, all of Mechanicsburg; stepgrandchildren, Nicole Mitchell, Brian Nontell, of Grove City, and Joshua Mitchell, of West Jefferson; great-grandchildren, Kelsie and Bradley Russell, Joshua and Crystal Henkle, Justin, Jordan and Jedin George; sisters, Eva (Bill) Fraley, of Mechanicsburg, twin sister, Martha McHenry and Nellie Tatman, both of London; brother, Charles (Ruth) Tatman, of Marysville; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Tatman, of Delaware, and Marlea Tatman, of Milford Center; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Walter Louck, on Oct. 4, 2000, and brothers, Robert Lee, Emery and Roy Tatman.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the EBERLE FUNERAL HOME, London, with Rev. Wendell Hurley officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove cemetery, Mechanicsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery, in DeGraff.
