Harry L. Bourdeau
WILLOUGHBY HILLS - Harry L. Bourdeau, 72, of Willoughby Hills, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 1999.
He was born July 6, 1927, in Ashtabula, the son of William and Selma (Maunus) Bourdeau. A graduate of Harbor High School and Dennison University, Mr. Bourdeau served with the Navy during World War II.
He enjoyed fishing, grandchildren and children.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, the former Nancy Brelsford; two sons, Kenneth of Perry, and Mark of New York; a daughter, Cindy Staycheff of Munroe Falls; a brother, Dick of Ashtabula; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Velma Orsag, Delores Kovacs and Marion Madden; and two brothers, Eugene and George, the latter missing in action during the Korean War.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Rosie Corrine Brown
ELBA, N.Y. - Rosie Corrine Brown, 64, of Elba, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999.
She moved to New York from Ashtabula.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Brown of Jefferson, David Moles of Ashtabula, and George Martinez of Puerto Rico; two daughters, Mary Lee Sears of Clay, W.Va., and Carol Ann Williams of Indore, W.Va.; good friend William "Larry" Lowery of Elba; seven grandchildren and 23 great - grandchildren.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday at the Merrill - Grinnell Funeral Home, 12 Ingersoll St., Albion, N.Y. The Rev. Wilfred Moss will officiate. Burial will be private.
Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dominic Timothy Constantino
ASHTABULA - Dominic Timothy Constantino, 70, West 48th Street, died Monday, Oct. 24, 1999, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 4, 1929, in Pittsburgh, the son of James and Margaret (Salvatore) Constantino, and had been an Ashtabula residence since 1988. He previously lived in Mentor and Pittsburgh.
He enjoyed walking and was a member of the Ashtabula Deaf Club.
Survivors include a niece and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Betty Paulus and Clara Snyder.
A prayer service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula. The Rev. Philip Miller, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate.
Calling hours at the funeral home will follow the service until 4 p.m.
Roxanne M. Garrod
ASHTABULA - Roxanne M. "Miracle" Garrod, 41, of West 54th Street, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Mrs. Garrod was born Oct. 7, 1958, in Canton, the daughter of Joseph Sr. and Geraldine Nosic. She had been an Ashtabula resident since 1973.
She worked for Tri - Delta Industries in Mentor and Rockwell Plastics.
She was a member of Saybrook United Methodist Church and Alcoholics Anonymous (St. Pete's Saturday Night).
She enjoyed making and selling crafts, especially crochetted items. She also enjoyed canning, baking and making jelly.
Survivors include her father, of California; her mother, Geraldine Roberts of Akron; her husband, Kenneth, whom she married
May 12, 1982; two sons, Grey Garrod of Ashtabula, and David Rock of Willoughby; four daughters, Terri Geer of Columbiana, Christy Kovacs and Tabitha Garrod, both of Ashtabula, and Traci Smith of Sebring; four sisters, Jacqueline Long of Mentor, Anna Yoho of Cleveland, Sandy Napier of Simpsonville, S.C., and Rose Marie O'Dell of Yucca Valley, Calif.; two brothers, Richard Nosic and Joe Nosic Jr., both of Canton; and 13 grandchildren.
Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at the Saybrook United Methodist Church, 7900 S. Depot St. The Rev. Joseph Platt, pastor, will officiate.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula.

Helen Lillie
MONROE TOWNSHIP - Helen Lillie, 82, of Monroe Township, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, at her home.
Born April 3, 1917, in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of Thomas and Anna (Parchatek) Mares.
Mrs. Lillie was a member of the Kelloggsville Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed flowers and gardening.
Survivors include a step - daughter, Mary Sheneman of Monroe Township; a sister, Mary Matousek; a brother, August Maresh; seven grandchildren, 25 great - grandchildren and two great - great - grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Lillie; and a brother, Thomas Marsh.
Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at the Guerriero Funeral Home, 6280 S. Main St., North Kingsville, with the Rev. Jerry Webb officiating. Burial will be in Gageville cemetery.
Calling hours will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of service.
Robert H. Weaver
ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. - Former Ashtabula resident Robert H. Weaver Sr., 66, died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at his home in Rogersville.
Mr. Weaver was retired from Conrail Railway Systems and served with an Army tank division during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl; four sons, Alan Pursell, Robert Chapman, David Weaver and Robert Weaver Jr.; three daughters, Carol Reed, Mildred Ray and Rose Moore; four brothers, Larry and George, both of Pennsylvania, Jack of Montana, and Charles of Virginia; four sisters, Geneivieve Grubbs and Midge Girlkinson, both of Pennsylvania, and Grace Basile and Dorothy Nardo of Texas; and 16 grandchildren.
Service is 2 p.m. Friday at Colboch - Price Funeral Home Chapel, Rogersville. The Rev. Dee Hicks will officiate. The Hawkins County Color Guard will conduct military honors in Highland cemetery.

Barbara Barcellona
THOMPSON - Barbara Barcellona, 88, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 26, 2000, at the Hospice House in Euclid.
The daughter of Salvatore and Mary (Grasso) Arena, she was born Oct. 4, 1911, in Paterno, Italy.
She married
Francesco Barcellona in August 1935 in Paterno, Italty.
A homemaker, she had lived in Cleveland and California for 30 years before moving to Thompson 2 1/2 years ago.
Survivors include daughters Maria Compagnino of Sicily, and Vincenza Russo of Thompson; sons Sam Barcellona of Marysville, Ky., and Joe Barcellona of Arroyo Grande, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and eight great - grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; her sons Tony, Carmelo and Ignazio; and her sisters Anna and Francesca.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 16550 Rock Creek Road, Thompson. The Rev. Paul Smith will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Lake View cemetery in Cleveland.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison.
Ruthe E. Bruce
CHARLOTTE, N.C. Former Conneaut resident Ruthe E. Bruce died Thursday afternoon, Jan. 27, 2000, in Charlotte.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Marcy Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
John S. Bublawek
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - John S. Bublawek, 81, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at a Cleveland hospital. He was a former Geneva resident.
A retired electrician, he was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his wife, Rose M. Bublawek; daughters Patricia Garbutt of Ashtabula, and Rose Branstutter and Joan Massie, both of Cleveland; and one grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mechanicsville cemetery in Austinburg Township. The Rev. Paul Tobin of the Assumption Church in Geneva will officiate.

Margaret Ann Davis
ANDOVER - Margaret Ann Davis, 77, of Cleveland Avenue, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren.
The daughter of Dr. Harry C. and Sara J. (McElheney) Morrow, she was born April 15, 1922.
A lifelong Andover resident, she was a 1940 graduate of Andover High School.
She belonged to the First Congregational Church of Andover.
She married
Robert P. Davis on Aug. 16, 1985.
A homemaker, she was a member of the First Congregational Church of Andover. She enjoyed playing the piano in her younger years.
Survivors include a son, David L. McCombe of Andover, a daughter, Mary Beth Humphries of Youngstown, and two grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, on Feb. 9, 1996, and a son, Gary Morrow McCombs.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Congregational Church of Andover, 170 East Main St. The Rev. James F. Brandis will officiate. Burial of cremated remains will be at Maple Grove cemetery, Andover, at the family's convenience.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church.

Michael Toma Protic
ROAMING SHORES - Michael Toma Protic, 47, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at Cleveland Metro Hospital.
The son of Toma and Margo (Figge) Protic, he was born June 25, 1952, in Chicago.
He attended Cleveland Heights High School and had worked as a nursing home caregiver.
Survivors include his mother of Roaming Shores; his wife, Laura Jean (Drabik) of Westland, Mich.; daughters Candace Protic of Texas and Selena Protic of Westland; grandchildren Emily, Heidi and Hunter; and sisters Erica Knostman - Hogan of Chicago and Robin Protic of Bedford Heights.
He was preceded in death by his father, and his stepfather, Werner Argens, on Sept. 2, 1998.
Services will be private. No calling hours will be observed.

John F. English
CONNEAUT - John F. English, 88, of Orange Street, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at Inn - Conneaut Health Center.
Born Jan. 18, 1911, in the family home on Orange Street, he was the son of John F. and Cora B. (Lake) Wagner English Sr.
Mr. English was a conductor on the Nickel Plate Railroad and Norfolk & Western Railroad Cleveland Division for 38 years, retiring in 1976. He worked for the Army Corps of Engineers at the time the Conneaut Harbor breakwall was built. He enjoyed boat building and repair and, in his younger years, was a charter member of the Conneaut Boat Club. He enjoyed fishing and working in his toolshed.
Survivors include his wife, Luella (Benson), whom he wed April 7, 1932; four daughters, Janice Bleasdale, Betty McClintock and Carol Parma of Conneaut, and Donna Dickson of Kinsman; four sons, Howard, Gary and David of Conneaut, and Robert of Lake City, Fla.; 26 grandchildren; 29 great - grandchildren; and four great - great - grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, John D. "Jack" English, in 1976.
Service is 11 a.m. Thursday at the Marcy Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Ash Welch of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood cemetery.

Raymond E. Evans
SUMMERFIELD, Fla. - Raymond E. Evans, 77, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at his home.
Born in Erie, Pa., the former Ashtabula resident retired as a warehouse manager for Rowley Battery & Electric of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Mr. Evans moved to Summerfield from Fort Lauderdale in 1983 and was a member of First Baptist Church of Summerfield. He was awarded a Purple Heart during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of more than 58 years, Mavis A. Evans of Summerfield; a daughter, Margaret L. Coy of Cape Coral, Fla.; two sisters, Dorothy Smith of Erie and Jean Allemeier of Bellview, Fla.; five grandchildren, Russell Coy, Eileen Coy, Chris Huckaba, Steven Coy, Rod Evans; and three great - grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his son, Roger Evans.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Lenox cemetery, Jefferson.

John W. Hanobik
CHARDON TOWNSHIP - John W. Hanobik, 80, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at Geauga Regional Hospital, Claridon Township.
Born March 4, 1919, in McDonaldton, Pa., he was the son of John and Mary (Gustie) Hanobik. He was a 43 - year area resident, formerly residing in Euclid.
Mr. Hanobik married
the former Margaret Mochan in Euclid on May 24, 1947.
He served with the Army during World War II and landed on Omaha Beach during the D - Day Invasion.
Employed by Lubrizol Corp. as a transmission technician, Mr. Hanobik retired in 1981 after 26 years of service. He was also a master auto mechanic for the former Dowd - Fedor Chrysler Plymouth for more than 10 years.
He was an active member of The Church of St. Mary in Chardon as well as Chardon VFW Post 6519, Geauga Knights of Columbus 3304 and 4th Degree Cardinal Newman General Assembly. He also was a founder and assistant scout leader of Boy Scout Troop 190, and he belonged to the Lubrizol Retiree's Club and the Slovenian Retiree's Club.
His hobbies included fixing things and working with anything dealing with auto mechanics.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Diane M. Moore of Munson Township; a son, Ronald of Chardon Township; a sister, Mary Paules of Leroy Township.; and five grandchildren, Scott Moore of Toledo, Stephen and Shawn Moore of Munson Township, and Rebecca and Jonathan of Chardon Township.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Friday at The Church of St. Mary, 400 North St., Chardon Village, with Rev. Paul Sciarrotta of the Notre Dame Educational Center officiating. Burial will be in All Souls cemetery, Chardon Township.

Peter E. Janson Jr.
KINGSVILLE TOWNSHIP - Former Rock Creek resident Peter E. Janson Jr., 74, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home in Kingsville Township.
Born May 3, 1925, in Rock Creek, he was the son of Peter E. Sr. and Areba Hopes Janson.
He married
Lois C. Guenther on April 12, 1947, in Cleveland.
He worked with his father and brothers in the family's custom threshing business. In 1969, he started Janson's Soil Service, spreading agricultural lime on farms throughout the area. He also spread lime on golf courses in many states, including Augusta National Country Club, site of the Masters Tournament in Augusta, Ga.
Mr. Janson was a Morgan Township trustee for 24 years and served 12 years on the Ohio Township Association Board of Directors.
He attended Rock Creek United Methodist Church.
Mr. Janson was a former Worthy Patron of Order of Eastern Star 354; a former Master at the Masonic Lodge of Rock Creek; a member of Caliph Grotto in Painesville; a 32nd degree Mason at the Valley of Cleveland Shrine; and five times he was in the Ruritan National Club.
He was honored by the Rotary Club of Rock Creek for his part in setting up the Rotary Recycling Center and the Rock Creek Rotary Park. He also was honored for public service by Ohio Sen. Robert Boggs.
Mr. Janson enjoyed traveling and he especially loved his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of Rock Creek; a son, Peter E. Janson III of Rock Creek; three grandchildren, Peter E. IV, Christel E. and Carmeron S. Janson; two brothers, Ralph of Bristolville and Donald of Geneva; and a sister, Leora Sipp in California.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; and a brother, Robert.
Funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday at the Paine Funeral Home, 3119 West Water St., Rock Creek, with Gordon Emerson, lay pastor of the Jefferson United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Union cemetery in Rock Creek.
