Wilcie Elizabeth Nestor
JEFFERSON - Wilcie Elizabeth Nestor, 78, Route 167, died at her home Monday morning, Jan. 17, 2000.
The daughter of William Dillon and Ellen Bleigh, she was born July 4, 1921, in Erbacon, W.Va.
A Methodist by faith, she was a homemaker and also had managed a restaurant.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of LOOM Lodge No. 52, in Clarksburg, W.Va.
Survivors include sons Walter Cogar of Ashtabula, Paul Cogar of West Salem, Harold Cogar of Shinston, W.Va., and Clyde Cogar of Painesville; daughters Lora Fish of Rock Creek, Shirley Deem of Warren, Sue Derbyshire of Elkins, W.Va., and Kathy Brown of Quincy, Ind.; a stepson, James Edward Nestor of Aspen, Va.; a stepdaughter, Anna Mae Taylor of Nutter Fort, W.Va.; a brother, George Knight of Columbus; 18 grandchildren, 20 great - grandchildren and five step - great - grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Edward Nestor, whom she married June 7, 1964.
Service is 10 a.m. Friday at the Davis - Weaver Funeral Home, 329 E. Main St., Clarksburg, W.Va. The Rev. Barney Snowden will officiate. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Evelyn K. Clark
ASHTABULA - Evelyn Kiddle Clark, 86, of Schenley Avenue, Ashtabula, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at the Park Haven Nursing Home in Ashtabula.
The daughter of Bayard and Emma (Volmar) Kiddle, she was born June 4, 1913, in Cleveland. She had lived in this area since 1949.
She was a 1931 graduate of West High School in Cleveland, a 1935 graduate of Oberlin College and did post - graduate work at Lake Erie College in Painesville, the University of Akron, Ohio University and Kent State University.
She taught first grade in the Ashtabula Area City Schools from 1959 to 1966. After that, she taught in Geneva until her retirement in 1977.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ashtabula, where she was a member of the Mary Martha Circle and the Open Door Sunday school class.
She was a member of the Ashtabula County Retired Teachers Association, the Ashtabula Woman's Club. She also volunteered at the Ashtabula County Medical Center, the Over 55 Club and the Book Forum.
Mrs. Clark is survived by daughters Judith May and Linda Nicka, both of Ashtabula, and Margaret Matthews of Erie, Pa.; six grandchildren and four great - grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Colin Donald Clark in 1981; and a brother, Dr. Lawrence Kiddle.
Service is 2 p.m. Friday at the Ross - Billman Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 526 Prospect Road, Ashtabula. The Rev. Barry Wolfe of the First United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Edgewood cemetery in Ashtabula Township.
Calling hours at the funeral home are noon until time of service Friday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Activity Fund of the Park Haven Nursing Home, or the First United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Doris Ilene Baxter
SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP - Doris Ilene Baxter, 94, of Beechcrest Drive, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital.
The daughter of Charles H. and Kate (Madden) Brown, she was born April 12, 1905.
A lifelong Ashtabula resident, Mrs. Baxter was a member of Saybrook United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Wesleyan Circle. She also belonged to the Lake Erie Chapter No. 10, Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years.
Her hobbies included reading and crafts.
Survivors include a son, Robert of Saybrook Township; a granddaughter, Catherine Reinmuller; and four great - grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Clarence, on July 24, 1997; a son, Lynn in 1952; a brother, William Brown; and sisters Gladys Williamson, Louise Murphy and Luella Merriam.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula. The Rev. Joseph Platt of Saybrook United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Edgewood cemetery.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. today and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Saybrook United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.

Raymond F. Cleversy
SEBRING, Fla. - Raymond F. Cleversy, 73, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at his home.
The son of Warren and Edith Cleversy, he was born Sept. 5, 1926, in Ashtabula. He had lived most of his life in Northeast Ohio.
He worked as a produce salesman.
Mr. Cleversy was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Florida, the Park United Methodist Church in Madison and the Spring Lake Methodist Church in Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille; a granddaughter, Renee Cleversy of Painesville; brothers Richard Cleversy of Perry and Lake Placid, Fla., Warren Jr. of Madison, Everett of Crossville, Tenn., and Arthur of Madison, Tenn.; sisters Virginia Ledford of Eastlake and Sebring, Alberta Wright of Berea, Caroline Hauser of Painesville and Edith Raines of Burton; three stepchildren, Deborah Milliff of Painesville, Ronald Hewlette of Acworth, Ga., and Kenneth Hewlette of Virginia Beach, Va.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth, in 1991; a son, Robert Cleversy; two sisters, Yvonne Kidd and Marian Benyak; and a brother, Bruce Cleversy.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St. (Route 528 and 84), Madison, with the Rev. William G. Alvey of Park United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Evelyn R. Keeney
MORGAN TOWNSHIP - Evelyn R. Keeney, 68, of Morgan Township, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
The daughter of Ray and Helen Grace (Jump) Briniger, she was born May 15, 1931, in Garrettsville, and had been a resident of the Rock Creek area all her life. She married Howard W. Keeney at the Rock Creek Methodist Church in 1948.
She was the kitchen manager and cook for the Greater Cleveland Boy Scout Council at the Beaumont Scout Camp for 32 years, retiring in 1996. She previously was a cook in the Jefferson school system.
She enjoyed baking and cooking and being with her family.
Survivors include three sons, Howard Tim Keeney of Pryor, Okla., Terry W. Keeney and Ted A. Keeney, both of Jefferson; eight grandchildren; five great - grandchildren; two brothers, Dwight R. Brininger of St. James City, Fla., and Frank W. Brininger of Jefferson; and two sisters, Betty Lou Rice of Austinburg Township and Stella Ann Morford of Williamsfield Township.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, in 1999.
Cremation will take place at the Family Group Cremation Center in Jefferson. No calling hours or services of any type will be held.
The Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., a Family Care Group affiliate, 49 West Jefferson St., is handling arrangements.

John H. Thompson
BURTON TOWNSHIP - John H. Thompson, 93, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, at Chardon Center.
He was born June 20, 1906, in Youngstown, and had lived in Burton Township for 20 years, moving from Columbus.
He wed the former Caroline Baptie in September 1929 in Burton.
He graduated from Baldwin Wallace College with a bachelor's degree in education. He earned a master's degree from Ohio State University.
An Army veteran, he served with the Special Forces during World War II.
Mr. Thompson taught English in the Columbus City Schools for 30 years. He retired in 1970.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, in 1986.
A graveside memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Chardon Municipal cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.
The Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, is handling arrangements.

Thomas Huntington
ASHTABULA - Thomas "Tim" Huntington Hubbard, 76, of Schenley Avenue, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at his home.
The son of Holland and Eleanor (Seymour) Hubbard, he was born in Toledo.
Mr. Hubbard was a resident of Ashtabula for most of his life.
He worked in the securities business with Hayden Miller, Parker Hunter, Murch, Wheat First Butcher, and Singer.
He was a trustee of Erie Insurance Exchange, Erie, Pa. and a partner in the Markko Vineyard, Conneaut. He attended the Choate School in Wallingford, Conn., and Hobart College, Geneva, N.Y.
He served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Hubbard was an active member of the community, particularly of the Ashtabula Area Museum and Historical Society. His main emphasis was on the formation of the Hubbard House Underground Railroad Museum on Walnut Boulevard.
Survivors include his wife Mary "Cissy" Cochran Hubbard; a daughter Mary "Polly"; a son, Lucius "Luke"; and a step - daughter, Elizabeth Flauto.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Hubbard Robison Naslund.
A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, Jan. 30 at 5 p.m. at the Ashtabula Arts Center, 2928 W. 13th St., Ashtabula.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ashtabula Area Museum and Historical Society, P.O. Box 2855, Ashtabula 44004, with a designation for the Hubbard House Underground Railroad Museum, the Marine Museum or the Ashtabula Arts Center.

Jessie A. Collister
JEFFERSON - Jessie A. Collister, 76, of East Pine Street, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at her home, following a brief illness.
Born April 4, 1923, in Harpersfield Township, she was the daughter of Earl O. and Nina B. (Davis) Stone. She was a lifelong Ashtabula County resident.
Mrs. Collister enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.
Survivors include two sons, Robert G., of Ashtabula, and Jon E. of Austinburg Township; two daughters, Holly K. of Jefferson and Barbara A. Parsons of Chicago, Ill.; four grandchildren; three sisters, Edna Armstrong of Jefferson, Alice Rocher of California, and Dortha Worden of Massachusetts; five brothers, Charles Stone of Rock Creek, George Stone and Earl Stone Jr. of Harpersfield Township, Raymond Stone of Dorset Township, and William Stone of Austinburg Township.
She was preceded in death by her parents; in 1995 by her husband, Richard, whom she wed March 16, 1946, in Geneva; and a brother, Franklin Stone.
A private burial of ashes will take place at the family's convenience. No public service of any type will be held.
The Fleming Funeral Home Inc., a Family Care Group affiliate, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, is handling arrangements.

June E. Kavaky
GARY, Ind. - June E. Kavaky, 52, of Ellsworth Street, died of cancer Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, at her home.
Born June 5, 1947, in Youngsown, she was the daughter of William and Jean (Franklin) Ferguson. She was raised in Struthers and moved to Ashtabula in 1957. She had resided in Indiana since 1983.
A homemaker, she was a former member of Struthers United Methodist Church, an avid bowler and a Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include her mother, of Ashtabula; husband James, whom she wed July 1983; a son, Doug DeVan of Highland, Ind.; a stepson, Scott Kavaky of Tampa, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Tracey Kavaky of Highland; a twin sister, Judy Luzik of Struthers; and three brothers, Bill Ferguson of Ashtabula, Gary Ferguson of Austinburg, and Jim Ferguson of Southington, Conn.
Service is 3 p.m. Saturday at the Davidson - Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers 44471, with the Rev. Jeannie Winters officiating. Burial will be in St. John cemetery.
Calling hours are two hours prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
The family requests that all memorial tributes be in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, c/o Breast Care, 525 N. Broad St., Canfield 44406.

Kathleen Kerr
NEWTON FALLS - Kathleen Kerr, 48, of Ridge Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren.
Born Dec. 28, 1950, in Warren, she was the daughter of Charles H. and Margaret J. (Place) Barry.
Mrs. Kerr, a longtime area resident, had spent the last few years in Utah, before returning to Ohio. She worked as a home health aide for many years. A graduate of Joseph Badger High School, Kinsman, she enjoyed doing puzzles and knitting.
Survivors include her husband, Paul R., whom she wed June 29, 1999; a daughter, Rachael Custer and Megan Connelly of Martinsburg, W.Va.; a sister, Gayle L. Kioboves of West Farmington; a brother, Richard A. Barry of Greenville, Pa.; and four grandchildren.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Baumgardner Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 8569 Main St., Kinsman.
No service will be held. Burial of ashes will take place in Utah at a later date.

Sandra L. Maddox
PERRY - Sandra L. Maddox, 48, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999, at her home.
She was born Sept. 18, 1951, in San Mateo, Calif., and married Laster Maddox Oct. 28, 1972, in Menlo Park, Calif.
Mrs. Maddox was a daycare provider.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Zachery, at home; her mother, Harriet Almadin of Washington state; and two sisters and two brothers, Joann Malesky and Irene Kimme and Bruce Mathis and Richard Mathis, all of California.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses, 7320 Middle Ridge Road, Madison. Jayes Rayford of Watchtower Bible and Tract Society will officiate.
There will be no calling hours. The Behm Family Home, 26 River St., Madison, is handling arrangements.

Vera K. Masiker
CHARDON - Vera Katherine Masiker, 80, died Oct. 13, 1999, at Geauga Hospital, Claridon Township.
Born Aug. 15, 1919, in Tionesta, Pa., she was the daughter of James W. and Bessie Alice (Ledebur) Bisker. She had lived in the area for eight years, moving from Bouse, Ariz. She had also lived in Titusville, Pa.
A homemaker, she enjoyed crocheting, walking and traveling.
Survivors include a daughter, Katherine L. Smith of Chardon; two sons, Gary D. of Titusville, and Dale E. of Leroy; 14 grandchildren; 16 great - grandchildren; three sisters, Gratia Buell, Penns Grove, N.J., Ruby Brady of Deptford, N.J., and Doris England of Tionesta; and two brothers, Marshall Bisker of Tionesta and Wayne Bisker of Canal Winchester.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Norman C.; and a brother, Fred Bisker.
Services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Titusville.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1689 E. 115th St., Cleveland 44106 - 3988.
Arrangments are by the Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chardon.

Gilbert J. Rangel
CONNEAUT - State Street resident Gilbert J. Rangel, 62, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Pa., where he had been a patient the past three weeks.
Born June 30, 1937, in Lorain, he was the son of Dorothy (Wagner) Rangel and the late Blas Rangel.
A Conneaut resident since 1964, he was employed at the Bessemer & Lake Erie Railroad, retiring in 1985.
An Air Force veteran, he was a military policeman during the Korean War.
Mr. Rangel was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 472, a member and past president of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 408, a member and past treasurer of Cowle Post 151, American Legion Post 151 and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2836.
His hobbies included golf and restoring antique cars.
Survivors include his mother of Lorain; his wife, Joyce, whom he married in 1964; five daughters, Debra Curry of Sumner, Wash., Sheila Swift of Colorado Springs, Colo., Kathy Allshouse of Conneaut, Sharon Theros of Brighton, Colo., and Jil Wynn of Akron; two sons, Gary R. of Conneaut, and Robert J. of Erie, Pa.; a sister, Cheryl of Lorain; 14 grandchildren; and two great - grandchildren.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gregory Rangel.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Marcy Funeral Home, a Family Care Group Affiliate, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
Burial will be in East Conneaut cemetery. Cowle Post 151 will conduct military rites.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
