Joseph Morehart
ASHTABULA - Joseph Morehart, 92, of East 43rd Street died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 14, 1907, in Lithopolis, the son of Jesse L. and Lola (Schmoltz) Morehart.
A graduate of Canal Winchester High School in 1924, he served in the Army during World War II. He was employed by Pipe Fitters Local 120 until his retirement.
A lifetime member of American Legion Post 667 of Lithopolis, he also belonged to the Coon Hunters Association and Lithopolis Lodge 169 F&AM.
Survivors include his wife, Olive (Young), whom he wed Oct. 28, 1957; a stepson, Scott Wheelock of Perrysburg; three grandchildren; three great - grandchildren; three brothers, Karl and Russell of Lithopolis and Ben of Tennessee; and two sisters, Norma Howard and Jean McClusky, both of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Jeanine A. Wheelock in 1998; a brother, Home Morehart; and two sisters, Mary Ann Fortney and Kate Loudermill.
Graveside service is 11 a.m. Monday at Four Mile Run cemetery, Austintown, with the Rev. Kathleen Evans of First Christian Church of Ashtabula officiating.
Contributions in Mr. Morehart's memory may be made to the First Christian Church. Envelopes are available at the Ross - Billman Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 526 Prospect Road, Ashtabula, which has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.

Bettie L. Perkins
GENEVA - Bettie L. Perkins, 69, of Cortland Circle died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at Country Circle Retirement Center in Ashtabula.
Born Feb. 17, 1930, in Geneva, she was the daughter of Penrose and Helen (Marshall) Burkholder.
A 1947 graduate of Geneva High School, she worked at Carlisle's Department Store in Ashtabula and Geneva. She retired from Geneva Memorial Hospital, where she worked in the admitting office.
Mrs. Perkins was a member of Park Street Christian Church in Geneva, and a member and past matron of Grace Chapter 11 OES of Geneva. She also belonged to the Memorial Hospital of Geneva Auxiliary.
She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and traveling.
Survivors include a son, Richard J. of Mentor; a daughter, Marilyn J. Noll of Middletown; three brothers, Harry Burkholder of Harpersfield, Donald Burkholder of Jefferson and Ronald Burkholder of Perry; a sister, Hallie Hutchins of Ashtabula; and four grandchildren, Matthew and Nicholas Perkins and Kristin and Jessica Noll.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E., on May 4, 1991; and a brother, David Burkholder.
Service is 1 p.m. Monday at Kennedy - Billman Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 323 S. Broadway, Geneva. The Rev. Larry Wade of Park Street Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery, Geneva.
Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Order of Eastern Star will conduct a service at 5:45 p.m.
Contributions in memory of Mrs. Perkins may be given to University Hospital of Geneva. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

William C. Sanger
CONNEAUT - Mill Street resident William C. Sanger, 68, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at Inn - Conneaut Health Center. He had been ill with Parkinson's Disease.
Mr. Sanger was born Dec. 2, 1930, in Conneaut, the son of William T. and Lillian M. (Van Gorder) Sanger. A lifelong Conneaut resident, he graduated from Rowe High School.
He served in the Navy during the Korean conflict. Afterwards he joined his father in the operation of Sanger Electric Co., Conneaut.
Later, he opened Bill's Discount Appliance Store and Sanger Realty Co. He ran the realty company until illness forced him to retire in 1996.
A designated real estate appraiser, he taught real estate classes at Kent State University, Ashtabula Campus, for several years. He was a former president of the Conneaut Jaycees and a member of Conneaut Rotary Club.
The former co - owner of Driftwood Marine, he enjoyed traveling, boating and being with his family.
Mr. Sanger is survived by his wife, the former Julia A. McNeish, whom he married Sept. 29, 1971; two sons, William H. of Conneaut and Gerald R. Meinke of St. Albans, W. Va.; a daughter, Cindy L. Damon of Conneaut; two sisters, Helen Eckonen and Betty Dewey; and three grandchildren, Brandy and Joe Sanger and Caleb Meinke.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private graveside services will be held Saturday at Glenwood cemetery.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 tonight at the Marcy Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Ashtabula County, or to Conneaut Rescue Squad. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Earl J. Smith
ERIE, Pa. - Williamsfield Township Earl J. Smith, 91, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Erie, Pa.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Baumgardner Funeral Home, Kinsman, a Family Care Group affiliate, 8569 Main St., Kinsman.

Ona Vanderlip
LYNDHURST - Ona Vanderlip, 94, of Oakmont Drive died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at her home.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be released by the Kennedy - Billman Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 323 S. Broadway, Geneva.

Fannie A. West
MADISON - Fannie A. West, 105, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at Cozy Acres in Madison.
She was born Feb. 27, 1894, in Pittsfield, the daughter of Grace (Rogers) and Anson A. West.
Ms. West graduated from Western Reserve University and worked as a school teacher in Oberlin and East Cleveland. She was a member of Pittsfield Community Church.
Survivors include a cousin, James Waterman of Madison.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nettie West, and a brother, John West.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by The Behm Family Funeral Homes, 26 River St., Madison. Burial will be in South cemetery in Pittsfield.

Adeline C. Peterangelo
ASHTABULA - Adeline Concetta (Pete) Peterangelo, 98, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born April 6, 1901, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Joseph and Mariannina (Chiacchiero) Presciano.
A lifelong area resident, Peterangelo was a charter member of St. Joseph Mission and a member of Anita Garibaldi Lodge. She also belonged to several social clubs and organizations.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking and baking, traveling and being with family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Anne Capitena, of Ashtabula, with whom she resided; six grandchildren: Gary and Ronald Capitena, Cheryl Capitena Johnson, Mark Peterangelo, JoAnn Gavacs and Susan Simpson; 12 great - grandchildren; three brothers: Jim, Bob and Joseph Presciano, all of Ashtabula; and a sister, Mary DiMare, also of Ashtabula.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, in 1963; a son, Joseph; a sister, Carmel Zullo; and a brother, Mike Presciano.
Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Church, Ashtabula. Burial in St. Joseph cemetery will follow.
Calling hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at Guerriero Funeral Home, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula.

John R. Freiling
PERRY - John R. Freiling, 61, of Perry, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, in the Cleveland Clinic.
He was a Perry resident since 1966.
The son of John W. and Mary (Britt) Freiling, he was born Nov. 14, 1938, in Steubenville.
He married Kathleen Joles June 10, 1964, in Mentor.
He owned and operated Trends R Us with his family.
He attended Union College, served in the U.S. Navy, enjoyed camping and fishing and traveled annually to Florida. He was a member of Perry United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons: Mark Freiling, of Burton, and Matthew C. Freiling, of Huntsburg; two daughters: Maureen C. Freiling, of University Heights, and Cheryl Lynn Woodward, of Wintersville; two grandchildren: Luke and Kaitlyn; and one sister, Joyce Jenkins, of Strongsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, with the Rev. William D. Grant, of Lakeshore United Methodist Church, Avon Lake, officiating.
Burial will be in Perry cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Oscar J. Hanson
FORT PIERCE, Fla. - Oscar Julius Hanson, 95, formerly of Dorset, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce, Fla.
He was born in Denmark, Ohio, and lived in Fort Pierce for 14 years. He was a farmer.
Survivors include one son, Richard Hanson, of Bellview, Fla.; and one daughter, Donna Crislip, of Fort Pierce; eight grandchildren; 14 great - grandchildren; and six great - great grandchildren.
Service is 6 p.m. Tuesday at Haisley - Hobbs Funeral Home in Fort Pierce with the Rev. Ron Beatty, of the Common Grounds Ministry, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Eileen L. Skiff
CONNEAUT - Eileen L. Skiff, 89, formerly of Lake Road, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home. She resided there since 1993.
Born Aug. 26, 1910, in Corry, Pa., she was the daughter of Harry Kimmey and Elizabeth (Church) Kimmey Sample.
Skiff spent her early years in Corry, where she attended St. Joseph Church and belonged to the Moose Auxiliary. She later lived in Orlando, Fla. and Cleveland, where she worked at Motorola Inc. and the former Crile Hospital in the payroll department.
In 1979, she moved to the home of her daughter in Conneaut and lived there until 1993.
She enjoyed doing yard work.
Survivors include three daughters: Audrie E. Raines, of Conneaut, Alberta J. Conway, of Strongsville, and Leota A. Adkins, of Orlando, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and five great - grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
No service or calling hours are scheduled. Skiff will be cremated and her ashes will be buried at St. Thomas cemetery, Corry, Pa.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.

Betty R. Wooten
MADISON - Betty R. Wooten, 78, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, at UHHS Memorial Hospital of Geneva.
She was born Sept. 28, 1921, in Chattanooga, Tenn., and lived in Youngstown before moving to Madison 28 years ago.
In the early 1930s, Wooten befriended President Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt while undergoing treatment for polio at Warm Springs, Ga. Mrs. Roosevelt taught her how to knit.
Wooten later was a homemaker and member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Youngstown.
When at leisure, she enjoyed reading.
Survivors include a son, Robert Jr., of Madison; a daughter, Kathy Crowl, of North Royalton; and a brother, Harry Harker, of Boardman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 1997; two siblings: Nancy Mahunik and Milton Harker; and her parents, Ross and Bessie Adams Harker.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the public libraries of Madison or Youngstown.
Funeral arrangements are private, and have been entrusted to the Potti Funeral Home of Madison.

Dorothy Alice Bonelli
ANDOVER - Dorothy Alice Bonelli, 83, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, at home, following an extended illness.
Born March 3, 1916, in Painesville, she was the daughter of Sidney and Mary Storm.
Bonelli worked many years at Lake County Hospital and NEO Hospital as a licensed practical nurse.
She was devoted to her family, and loved the outdoors, gardening, adopting stray animals and birds.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Kerestman, of Geneva; a son, James Palo, of Irmo, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great - grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Jacobson, of Perry; and a brother, George Storm, of Painesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anthony; a brother, Sidney Storm; and four sisters: Elizabeth Richardson, Myrtle Kornblum, Madaline Tromp and Elsie Storm.
There will be no service. . Bonelli has donated her body to Case Western Reserve School of Medicine for study.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or the American Heart Association.

John W. Chapin Sr.
CONNEAUT - John W. Chapin Sr., 75, of Parrish Road, died Friday Feb. 11, 2000, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital Conneaut.
Born Dec. 27, 1924, in Rays Corners, he was the son of Howard H. and Edna B. (Hartley) Chapin and had been an Ashtabula County resident, particularly Pierpont Township, for most of his life. He moved to Conneaut in 1999.
Mr. Chapin was employed for 23 years as a truck driver. He and his wife owned and operated the Pierpont Golden Dawn from 1969 to 1984.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Navy's Submarine Service.
Mr. Chapin was the president of the Pioneer Picnic committee for more than 20 years. A charter member of the Pierpont Volunteer Fire Department, he also was an emergency medical technician.
He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, horses, walking, country western music and spending with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia (Frey), whom he married Aug. 31, 1946, in Warren; six children. Daniel H. of Centreville, Va., Karen E. Tennant and John W. of Conneaut, Michael P. of Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Roy M. of Canoga Park, Calif., and Christopher C. of Simi Valley, Calif.; and nine grandchildren, Tammy, Cheryl, Kim, Tiffany, Chris, Andy, Brittany, Taylor, and Christine; and three great - grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Allen H., in 1953; a sister, Adell Lovejoy; and a brother, Paul.
Graveside service is Tuesday in Evergreen cemetery, Pierpont Township, at the convience of the family.
Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Childs - Williams Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 96 Route 7, Pierpont Townshio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Indian School in care of Chamberlain, S.D. 57326.
Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Alice C. Kral
PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - Alice C. Kral, 91, died Wednesday Feb. 9, 2000, at her home.Born Sept. 25, 1908, in Lilly Coal, Pa., she was the daughter of Charles and Caroline (Olszewski) Stafanick.
She had been a Chardon area resident since 1969, having lived in Munson since 1941 and previously in Cleveland.Mrs. Kral loved music and enjoyed gardening and crocheting.She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pinellas Park, and a former member of St. Mary's Church, Chardon.
Survivors include her daughters, Rosemarie Hall of Chardon, Jody George of Burton, and Carolyn Antonio of Panellas Park; 10 grandchildren; 23 great - grandchildren; 17 great - great - grandchildren; two brothers, Stanley Darrow of Daytona, Fla., and Leonard Mintus of Chester Township; three sisters, Rose Bagshaw of Madison, Kay Cline of Parma, and Agnes Palisano of Philadelphia, Pa.She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in 1970; five brothers, Joseph and Charles Stafanick, Burt and Tommy Mintus, and Jack Darrow; two sisters, Ann Kozak and Helen Mintus; and granddaughter, Laurie Butt.Service is 10 a.m. Monday at the Ritondaro Funeral Home 126 South St., Chardon, with the Rev. Thomas C. Gilles, pastor of St. Mary's Church, Chardon, officiating. Burial will be in All Souls cemetery, Chardon Township.Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Adeline Peteranglo
ASHTABULA - Adeline "Pete" Peterangelo, 98, died Friday, Feb.11, 2000, in Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Service is 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Church, Lake Avenue, Ashtabula.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula.
Members of the Anita Garibaldi lodge will meet at the funeral home 2:30 p.m. Monday to conduct services.

Mildred Prime
ASHTABULA - Mildred Prime, 65, of Reed Avenue died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, in the Hospice Unit of Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born April 20, 1934, in Ethelsville, Ala., she was a daughter of James and Ethel (Lacy) Stewart and had been an Ashtabula resident for the past seven years. She had been a Cleveland area resident most of her life.
A lifelong caregiver, Mrs. Prime graduated from the Jane Adams School of Nursing, Cleveland, in 1965 and worked for the Cleveland Veterans Administration Medical Center and most recently, Ashtabula Regional Home Health Care.
She enjoyed reading, conversation, and watching Tiger Woods play golf.
Survivors include three sons, Philip J., Henry Douglas "Butch, " and Gregory Paul Stevens, all of Ashtabula; a daughter, Tanya Marie Clark of Pittsburgh, Pa.; four grandchildren; three great - grandchildren; three sisters, Jimmie Lee Evans of Euclid and Stephanie and Charlotte, both of Ethelsville, Ala.; and three brothers, Charles Levicy of Euclid and Brian and James Stewart Jr. of Ethelsville, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Service is 1 p.m. Monday at her home, 5139 Reed Avenue, Ashtabula.
No calling hours will be observed.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Ashtabula County, 2420 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula 44004.
Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, is in charge of the arrangements.
