George G. Dreslinski
MENTOR - Former North Kingsville resident George G. Dreslinski, 45, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at University Hospital, Cleveland.
Mr. Dreslinski was born June 18, 1954, in Kirtland, the son of George and Beatrice (Baker) Dreslinski.
He graduated from Edgewood High School and attended the Kent State University Ashtabula Campus.
He was co - owner of Breezy Inn while living in North Kingsville, and was a former village council member.
For the past nine years, he served as maintenance supervisor at Deepwood North Apartments, Mentor.
He enjoyed motorcycles, boating, and white water rafting.
Mr. Dreslinski attended the Pentecostal Church of God, Ashtabula, and was a member of Orion Lodge 353 Free & Accepted Masons, Kingsville Township.
Survivors include his mother of Ashtabula; his wife, Mallissa (Post), whom he married
Aug. 7, 1993; a daughter, Julie of Arlington, Texas; two sons, Gregory P. of North Kingsville and Christopher Wintringham of Kissimmee, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Service is 2 p.m. Monday at the Marcy Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Kenneth Roberts, pastor of the Pentecostal Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Calling hours are 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Rose Marie Morano
CONNEAUT - Rose Marie Morano, 89, of Conneaut, died Thursday morning, Nov. 4, 1999, at the Inn - Conneaut Health Center, where she had been a resident.
She was born Sept. 16, 1910, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Louis and Jennie (Sappio) Mongenel. She worked at the former Strong Steam as an inspector.
She lived in Conneaut for more than 65 years after her marriage to Anthony Morano on April 7, 1934, at Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Ashtabula.
A member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, she was active in her children's Parent - Teacher Association.
Mrs. Morano and her husband enjoyed traveling to Florida. They lived in Bradenton, Fla., for several years after retirement. She also enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
Survivors include two sons, Anthony of Conneaut, and Bernard of Mentor; a daughter, Patricia Kovacevic of Bradenton; two sisters, Mary Guerriero and Carmel Kuhn, both of Ashtabula; nine grandchildren and 10 great - grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Ralph, Edward, Harry and Frederick Mongenel; and a sister, Ann Turner.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Frances Cabrini Church. The Rev. John Summers will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Calling hours are 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday at the Raisian Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.

Thomas E. Poole Sr.
CHERRY VALLEY TOWNSHIP - Thomas E. Poole Sr., 64, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at St. Joseph Health Center, Warren.
He was born Aug. 1, 1935, in Cleveland, the son of Albert C. and Agnes (Pearn) Poole.
An Air Force veteran, he served in the Korean conflict.
Mr. Poole lived in Cherry Valley for more than 20 years, and was employed as a tree trimmer with Nelson Tree Service of Cleveland.
He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Andover, and his hobbies included fishing, camping, gardening, woodcarving and painting.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen J. (Arunski), whom he married
April 13, 1956; four sons, Patrick M. of Hiram, Thomas E. Jr. of Burton, Mich., Kirk L. of Espyville, and Jason B. of Andover; two daughters, Deborah J. Crease of Chardon, and Denise A. Savel of Cherry Valley Township; three brothers, Herbert C. of Akron, Patrick of Sycamore and Russell E. of Fostoria; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. The Rev. Larry E. Frient will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery, Andover.
Calling hours are 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Baumgardner Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 134 Prospect St., Andover.

Florence M. Camensky
ASHTABULA - Florence M. Camensky, 77, died Saturday Feb. 5, 2000, at her home.
Born Feb. 19, 1922, in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of Angelo and Mary (Manupella) Notarianni.
She worked for the former Brunner Co. as a seamstress.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Umberto Notarianni; and five sisters, Genevieve Santill, Stella Bruno, Ida Notarianni, Mitilda Masters, and Dannella Gilbert.
Service is 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery, Saybrook Township.

Kenneth A. Davis
GARRETTSVILLE - Kenneth A. Davis, 81, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at Burton Health Care, Burton.
Mr. Davis was born Oct. 14, 1918, in Warren.
He was a machinist for Geauga Industries, retiring in 1981 after 25 years of service.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served at Pearl Harbor and in the Asiastic - Pacific Theater during World War II.
Mr. Davis was a 1936 graduate of Burton High School.
He owned and operated Davis TV Repair in Newbury for more than 50 years.
He was an avid football and baseball fan who followed high school, college and professional sports.
Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Wiggins of Windham and June Loser of N.J.; a son, Gary of Newbury; a brother, Merle Davis of Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and a great - grandchild.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma L. Portman, on Sept. 8, 1963; his second wife, Rose Dietz, on June 3, 1997; and a son, Glen.
Private services were held by the family.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
Brandon Tyler Hotz
MIDDLEFIELD - Brandon Tyler Hotz, 5, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at LakeEast Hospital, Painesville, from injuries he sustained from an auto accident on Route 44, Chardon Township.
Born May 21, 1994, in Orange County, Calif., he was the son of Michael R. and Melissa (Grass) Hotz.
Brandon loved to chase his shadow and loved school. He also liked to watch movies and was a very happy boy.
He attended Jordak Elementary School and was in Mrs. VanHorn's class.
He is survived by his parents; a brother, Joshua; a sister, Alexis; paternal grandparents, Eugene and Kathleen Businski of N.J.; maternal grandparents, Mike and Patricia Grass of Modesto, Calif.; and his great - grandparents, Walter and Unis Lasater of Modesto, Calif.
Private services will be held and cremation will take place.
Russell Golden Rule Funeral Services, West High Street, Middlefield, is in charge of the arrangements.
Helen M. Kucha
CONNEAUT - Helen M. Kucha, 89, formerly of Sherman Street, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 5, 1910, in Conneaut, she was the daughter of John and Barbara (Barron) Kucha.
She spent several years in Dearborn, Mich., where she owned and operated a lounge, returning to Conneaut in the 1970's. She was a member of St. Mary's Church. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her home and yard.
Survivors include her sister, Pauline Kako of Conneaut; and a niece, Helen Tyler of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, Elizabeth Kultti, Barbara Maddox, Anna Dickson, Marie McNeil, Mary, and Julia; and three brothers, John, Michael and Joseph.
A private family service will be Tuesday afternoon at the Marcy Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut with the Rev. Raymond Thomas, pastor of the St. Mary's Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.
No calling hours will be observed.
Marilyn L. Osborne
ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP - Marilyn L. Osborne, 60, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, in the Country Club Nursing Facility following a long illness.
Born June, 19, 1939, in Louisville, she was the daughter of Lloyd and Lettie (Vernier) Brown.
She graduated from Louisville High School in 1957 and received her bachelor's degree from Mt. Union College in 1961.
She started working for the Ashtabula Department of Human Services as a caseworker in 1961 until 1998.
She was a member of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Conneaut and St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Ashtabula.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, crafts, and collecting Beanie Babies.
She is survived by her husband Robert A. Osborne, whom she married
Nov. 21, 1964; her mother, her sons, Robert A. Jr. and William J. both of Ashtabula; her sister, Margaret Aufdenkamp of Louisville; two brothers, Ralph of Louisville and Donald of Canton; and her step - granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her father, and her brothers Russell and Lorin.
Service is 1 p.m. Monday in the Zaback - Czup Funeral Home, 500 Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Ed. Schultz of St. Peters Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Edgewood cemetery.
Calling hours are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Patricia M. Proffitt
CONNEAUT - Patricia M. Proffitt, 77, of Lake Road, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at Carington Park Nursing Home, Ashtabula.
Born Jan. 25, 1923, in Pittsburgh, Pa., she was the daughter of Herbert and Eleanor (Tener) McCullough.
She graduated valedictorian from Taylor - Alderdice High School in 1939. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in Fine - Arts, and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, an honorary academic society. She moved to Conneaut in 1974 and was a cook for Cash Brown's restaurant, a substitute teacher for Conneaut schools, and worked as an aide for the public library. She enjoyed reading and painting.
She is survived by three sons, Norton of Missoula, Montana, Daniel of Conneaut, and Karl Petrovich of Rutland, VT; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Louise Laub of San Gabriel, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, David Proffitt in 1991; and a sister, Ann.
At the family's request there will be no service or calling hours.

Emma A. Schroeder
KIRTLAND - Emma A. Schroeder, 103, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at Chardon Center, Chardon.
Born Dec. 30, 1896, in Cleveland, she was a homemaker and a Chardon Township resident since 1965.
She is survived by her daughter, Doris Matawitz of Kirtland; and a grandson David Matawitz, of the U.S. Navy, R.I
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, in 1988, whom she married
in Cleveland in 1916; and five brothers and three sisters.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday at the Chapel of Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe Road, Chester Township with Pastor Robert Gaston, Chaplain of Lake Hospital System officiating. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens.

Eslie M. Stief
SILVER SPRINGS, Fla. - Eslie M. Stief, 71, a former Ashtabula resident, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000 at Silvia's House, Hospice of Marion, Fla.
She was born in Kansas City, Mo., and resided in Tenn. and moved to Fla. in 1996.
A homemaker, she was a member of Lake United Methodist Church in Ashtabula and attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Ocala, Fla.
She was a member of the East Marion Homemakers Club, and of Beta Sigma Phi sorority for 47 years.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Stief of Silver Springs; three daughters, Debbie Myers of Knoxville, Tenn., Sandy Herron of Ashtabula and Kellie Delafuente of Brandon, Fla.; one son, Robert Stief Jr. of Miami; eight grandchildren; and five great - grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Lee Stief.
No service or calling hours will be observed.

Rev. Dr. Sam Wells Jr.
ASHTABULA - The Rev. Dr. Sam Wells Jr., of West Avenue, Ashtabula, pastor of the peoples Baptist Church, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at Garden Grove Hospital, Garden Grove, Calif.
Born Nov. 15, 1936, in Louisville, Mich., he was the son of Deacon Sam and Ruby (Gladney) Wells and had been an Ashtabula resident for 42 years.
Over the years, Rev. Wells worked at Ranch Poultry, ACME Scrap Iron and Metal Co., Ashtabula Bow Socket and General Tire.
Rev. Wells accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at the age of 11. Baptized at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Louisville, Mich., he served the Junior and Youth Church. A graduate of Louisville Negro High school in 1957, Sam was a valued asset to the Trojan Football team.
Doctor Wells received higher education from Baptist Bible Institute, Cleveland; Colombia Bible Institute, Columbia, S.C., and the International Seminary, Orlando, Fla. He was a man of valor who held a Bachelor of Ministry degree, Master of Ministry degree, doctor of divinity degree and several Certificates of Recognition.
On Sept. 26, 1959, Rev. Wells married
Johnie Ashford. He was called into the gospel ministry on April 10, 1972; preached his first sermon on Feb. 3,, 1973; was licensed March 4, 1973; and ordained on Feb. 18, 1974. On Sept. 22, 1976, he accepted pastoralship of Peoples Baptist Church, Ashtabula, where he served 23 years.
A leader in the community, Rev.. Wells served on the Board of Directors for the Interfaith Clergy. He also was president of The Mary Chatman Center Advisory Board, and chairman of the Ashtabula Area City School Monitoring Committee.
He was most recently involved with the Baptist Minister's Conference of Ashtabula and vicinity, a committee person for Ashtabula City Ward Three, Precint D; the NAACP Civil Rights Committee and was vice chairman of the Metropolitan Housing Authority.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years; four children, Amelia Stewart of Columbus, Danny and Winchell of Ashtabula, and Benita Polite of Umatilla, Fla.; eight grandchildren: Keyona, Samatha, and Ashley Stewart, Reginald Corpening Jr., Therone Polite Jr., T'Keyah, Sergio and Antonio Wells; his mother; two sisters, Ruby Davis of Ashtabula and Erma Carlton of Ashtabula; and a brother, Deacon Harvey Wells.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Wake services are 7 p.m. Thursday and noon Friday at the Peoples Baptist Church, 3837 West Ave., Ashtabula. The Rev. George B. Lampkin, Pastor of the Greater Promise Baptist Church, Conneaut will officiate with the Rev. Dave Chappell, Jr. delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in the Edgewood cemetery.
Pastor Wells will lie in state from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to noon. Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the People's Baptist Church Building fund.

James R. Brenwald
THOMPSON - James R. Brenwald, 80, of Thompson, died Wednesday morning, Oct. 6, 1999, at University Hospitals of Cleveland.
He was born March 17, 1919, in Cassidy, W.Va., the son of Jacob and Martha (Lower) Brenwald.
Mr. Brenwald worked in construction, the last 10 years for Best Sand.
He served with the Army in Europe during World War II, and was a member of the Madison American Legion Post No. 112 and the Loyal Order of Moose in Warren.
He married
the former Eleanore Jones in 1946 in Andover.
Survivors include three sisters, Leona of Montrose, W.Va., Mary of Buckhannon, W.Va., and Gladys of Elkins, W.Va.; and five brothers, Dewey of Glenville, W.Va., Joseph and Benjamin, both of Scottsmore, Fla., Denzil of Maysville, Ga., and Ronald of Harpersfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, in 1988; two sisters, Madaline and Sophie; and three brothers, Roy Thaddeus and Emil.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison. The Rev. Larry Wade of Park Street Christian Church, Geneva, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery in Thompson.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 and 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
