Ralph G. Tyler Jr.
CONWAY, S.C. - Ralph G. "Bud" Tyler Jr., 77, of Myrtle Trace, S.C., died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at Conway Hospital.
The son of Ralph G. Sr. and Ruth (Warner) Tyler, he was born in York, Pa.
When he was 15, Mr. Tyler won the local Soap Box Derby race in Muncie, Ind. He moved to Myrtle Trace in 1995.
A graduate of Exeter Academy, Exeter, N.H., he was a 1944 graduate of Dartmouth College, where he earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
He served as a first lieutenant in the Navy Seabees (construction battalion) during World War II.
After the war, he returned to Dartmouth and earned a master's degree in1947.
He was a registered engineer in Ohio, and was co - owner of Bolton - Pratt Construction Co., Cleveland.
After retiring, he served as head of the Ashtabula County Building Department.
He was a member of the Rotary Club, the Centenary United Methodist Church and Tracers Golf Club. He also was a Paul Harris Fellow.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores; two daughters, Elizabeth Haist of Chelsea, Mich., and Martha Tyler of Richmond, Va.; a stepdaughter, Karen Capadona of Monte Rio, Calif.; a sister, Lois Van Fleet of Muncie; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway, was in charge of the arrangements.

James L. Meade

A lifelong Jefferson resident, Mr. Meade died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000.
Mary J. Davis
MADISON - Mary Jane Davis, 72, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999, at UHHS Memorial Hospital of Geneva.
Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Crossroads Community Church, 6685 Middle Ridge Road, Madison. The Rev. Michael Haury of Crossroads Community Church will officiate. Burial will be in Madison Memorial cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison.
Shirley Ann Jukes
CORTLAND - Shirley Ann Jukes, 62, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999, at Cortland Nursing Center, following an extended illness.
Born Nov. 23, 1936, in Warren, she was a daughter of Raymond and Thelma (Kegley) Walton.
She married
James Jukes Jr. on June 21, 1963.
The lifetime Cortland area resident lived on State Route 46 in Mecca Township. Mrs. Jukes was retired. She had worked as a cook for 15 years at the Dinner Bell Restaurant in Cortland.
She was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and had attended the TMH School of Nursing.
She enjoyed reading, puzzles and bowling - she had been a part of a ladies' bowling league in Cortland.
Survivors include three daughters, Thelma J. of Mecca Township, Mary Anne of Bristolville and Alice L. Martin of Jefferson; two granddaughters; and two grandsons.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Sarah Carnes; and a brother, Raymond Walton Jr.
No funeral or calling hours will be held. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery in Warren.
Funeral arrangements are being handled the Robert H. Roberts - Clark Memorial Home Inc.
Alice A. Kehoe
CONNEAUT - Marshall Street resident Alice A. Kehoe, 89, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital in Conneaut.
Born March 1, 1910, in Wilkins Township, Allegheny County, Pa., she was a daughter of Albert A. and Amina Alice (Stewart) Jackson.
She spent most of her life in the McKeesport, Pa., area and assisted her husband in the operation of Kehoe's Antiques Shop in Sutersville, Pa.
She moved to Conneaut in 1984 to make her home with her daughter and son - in - law, Noretta and Bud Dale.
Mrs. Kehoe enjoyed collecting antique glass and going to garage sales.
Survivors include three daughters, Noretta Dale and Margaret Zappitelli, both of Conneaut and Darryl Weaver of Andover; three sons, Richard and Earle DeWalt, both of Conneaut and George DeWalt of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Mildred; three stepsons, Jerry Joseph and James Kehoe, all of Ocala Fla.; 25 grandchildren; 44 great - grandchildren; and two great - great - grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George DeWalt, in 1949; her second husband, Joseph Kehoe, in 1984; and seven brothers.
Funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Marcy Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 208 Liberty St., with the Rev. Jack Woods, pastor of the First Assembly of God, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.
Calling hour is 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Thelma E. Tarman
PAINESVILLE - Perry resident Thelma E. Tarman, 78, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at Lake East Hospital in Painesville.
Born May 6, 1921, in Painesville, she was a daughter of John L. and Eva Mae (Cobb) Burr.
She married
Paul A. Tarman on Aug. 29, 1942, in Madison.
The homemaker moved to Perry from West LaFayette in 1983.
During World War II, she was a nurse aide at Bigley's Rest Home in Painesville.
She was a member of the Fairport Harbor Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7754.
She enjoyed playing bingo with family and friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Darlene Sullivan of Perry and Ann Fitzer of West LaFayette; two sons, Paul A. Jr. and Clarence J., both of Port Charlotte, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 13 great - grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Sklenar of Mentor; and a brother, Jimmy Burr of California.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; two grandsons, Barry A. Sullivan and Stevie Tarman; a great - grandson, Bo Jarrod; and two brothers, Harold and Clarence Burr.
Funeral is 1 p.m. Wednesday at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison. Burial will be in Perry cemetery in Perry.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Iola M. Blank
KINGSVILLE - Iola M. Blank, 89, formerly of North Kingsville, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 28, 1910, in Amsbary, Pa., the daughter of Sanford and Elizabeth (Myers) Nagle.
When she was younger, Mrs. Blank was a care - giver for the elderly.
She had been active with the North Kingsville Fire Department Auxiliary, was a 50 - year member of the Queensville Rebekah Lodge, and received awards for her volunteer service at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
She enjoyed writing poetry, her grandchildren and operating her well - documented "home for stray animals."
Survivors include a daughter, Marthalee Smith of Ashtabula; a son, Daniel Blank of Conneaut; three brothers, Louis Nagle of Boyertown, Pa., Morris Nagle of Ashtabula, and Joseph Nagle of Pendleton, S.C.; a sister, Katherine Sanker of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren and four great - grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence, in 1979; and brothers, Celestine, William, Edward and Arthur Nagle.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Guerriero Funeral Home, 6280 S. Main St., North Kingsville, is in charge of arrangements.
Stephen M. Cole
MADISON - Stephen M. Cole, 73, of Andover, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at the Inn - Madison Health Center in Madison.
She was born Feb. 3, 1926, in Andover, the son of Watler E. and Helen (Mason) Cole.
A longtime Andover resident, Mr. Cole worked as an electrician for Ohio Edison for more than 42 years.
He served with the Army in Italy during World War II. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Andover, and FOE No. 4035 Pymatuning Aerie. In his leisure time, he enjoyed photography and flying airplanes.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen Cole of Smithfield, R.I., and Douglas Cole of Sycamore, Ill.; a daughter, Kimberly Reynolds of Cherry Valley Township; a brother, Ralph Cole of Sharpsville, Pa.; seven grandchildren and one great - grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Eleanor, in 1970; his second wife, Martha, in 1981; and a brother, Walter E. Cole Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Baumgardner Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 134 Prospect St., Andover.
No calling hours will be held.

Carlton J. Drew
CONNEAUT - Carlton J. Drew, 78, of South Liberty Street, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 3, 1999, at his home of a probable coronary.
He was born July 18, 1921, in Conneaut, the son of Leon B. and Betty (Johnson) Drew.
He had sailed on the Great Lakes for a number of years, worked for the former Nickel Plate Railroad and was a derrick operator on oil and gas wells.
Mr. Drew joined the Scottish Regiment of the Canadian Army before the United States' entry into World War II. Later, he transferred to the U.S. Army infantry, and served in the European, African and Far East theaters, compiling 47^4 months of service.
He was a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
After the war, he returned to Guam to work in construction.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 408, Loyal Order Of Moose Lodge No. 472 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2836.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed carpentry and mechanical work. He built and flew two airplanes.
Survivors include seven sons, Carl, Dave, Lance, Gary and Dennis, all of Conneaut, Rick of Battle Mountain, Nev., and Alan of Athens, Ga.; two sisters, Phyllis and Mary; a brother, Robert; 24 grandchildren and 15 great - grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vilah, in 1997; a brother, Richard; and two sisters, Geraldine and Jean.
Service is 2 p.m. Saturday at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, a Family Care Group affiliate. The Rev. Raymond Lamb, pastor of the Conneaut Church of God, will officiate. Burial with military rites will be in Glenwood cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home are noon Saturday until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the recreation fund of the Erie VA Medical Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Edward L. Goode
ORWELL - Edward L. Goode, 76, of Rome, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at the Village Square Nursing Home in Orwell.
He was born Nov. 11, 1922, in Gladwin, Mich., the son of Edgar L. and Edna (Dye) Goode.
A graduate of Saginaw High School in Saginaw, Mich., he served with the Army during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 719 in Orwell, a former member of the Rock Creek Rotary and the Rome Grange. He also was a former coach in the Rome Little League.
He attended Rome Presbyterian Church. Mr. Goode was retired from Rockwell Plastics in Ashtabula.
He married
the former Harriet J. Hummell on Feb. 28, 1948, in Kingsville.
Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Myron Goode of North Kingsville, and Jerry Goode of Troy; a sister, Jeanne Plants of Ashtabula; a son, Phillip Hummell of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; a daughter, Charlene Frazier of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two grandchildren and three great - grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Leah Goode; and one grandchild.
Mr. Goode will be cremated. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rome Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Susanne Carter, church pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in Rome Center cemetery at a later date.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Paine Funeral Home, 140 E. Main St., Orwell.
Timothy Scott Harrison
ASHTABULA - Timothy Scott Harrison, 21, of Lake Road West, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, as the result of a Lake Erie drowning accident.
Mr. Harrison was born Aug. 5, 1978, in Houston, Texas, the son of Richard and Marilyn (Dilly) Harrison, and had been a Geneva resident most of his life.
He attended Geneva High School, where he played football.
He was known for his sense of humor and his ability to entertain anyone. In his leisure time he enjoyed music, fishing and sports.
Survivors include his mother, of North Hampton, England; his father, of Geneva; two brothers, Lawrence "Wally" Harrison of Geneva, and Keith Harrison of Knoxville, Tenn.; a sister, Heidi Harrison of Geneva; and his fiance, Dana Getce.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Friday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6846, 76 Depot St., Geneva. The Rev. Lee Lenhart of the First Church of God will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery, Geneva.
Calling hours will follow Friday's service.

Michael N. Kulyk
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Pa. - Michael N. Kulyk, 80, of Ridge Road died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at Inn - Conneaut Health Center, following a brief illness.
He was born Dec. 26, 1918, in Albion, Pa., the son of Nikolai and Fanny (Chrytrak) Kulyk. He had lived in West Springfield since 1952.
During World War II, Mr. Kulyk served with the Merchant Marines. He worked at the Cleveland Division of Norfolk - Southern Railroad for 35 years as an engineer.
He was a member of Conneaut Loyal Order of Moose 472; American Legion Cowle Post 151; the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and the Friday Railroad Breakfast Club.
An avid gardener, he enjoyed raising flowers and vegetables, and he often donated garden produce to the Erie Soup Kitchen.
He also enjoyed being with family and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, the former Wilmajean Kopacz, whom he married
Feb. 23, 1946; a daughter, Patricia Davis of Warren; a son, Michael L. of North Ridgeville; three grandchildren, Kelly Greaves, Shannon Kulyk and Jaimee Davis; two great - grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Kulyk of Albion, Pa., and June Meaden of Fairview, Pa.; and a brother, John of Albion.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Kulyk was preceded in death by a sister, Eva Pecak.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church, 480 State St., Conneaut. The Rev. John R. Summers will be the celebrant. Burial with partial military service will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Calling hours are Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Marcy Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.

Annabelle McQuilkin
ASHTABULA - Annabelle McQuilkin, 82, of East Prospect Road, Ashtabula, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, at the Burton Health Care in Burton.
She was born Jan. 9, 1917, in Burton, the daughter of Neal G. and Frances (Pfenniger) Osmond, and was a lifelong area resident.
Between 1935 and 1983, she worked California, Cleveland and Ashtabula doing secretarial, bookkeeping, payroll and managerial jobs. She and her husband, Hymen, owned and operated Ashtabula Hearing Aid Co. until their retirement in 1971.
She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 943 Ladies Auxiliary, since 1961, and was a member of the Ashtabula Senior Center. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, dancing and cooking.
Survivors include a sister, Alice Bahnick of Burton; and two nephews, Rodney and Richard Bahnick.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, in 1995.
Service is 2 p.m. Friday at the Ross - Billman Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 526 Prospect Road, Ashtabula. The Rev. Kevin Horrigan, of the Prospect Presbyterian Church of Ashtabula, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.
