Ned L. Catrow
CONNEAUT - Sandusky Street resident Ned L. Catrow, 78, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital in Conneaut.
Born June 5, 1921, in Coshocton, he was the son of Charles E. and Grace (Longe) Catrow.
He married
the former Martha W. Perala on Dec. 1, 1945.
He moved to Conneaut in 1942 to become manager of the former J.J. Newberry store. Later, he retired after working for 37 years as the supervisor of the microphone department at the former Astatic Corp.
An Army veteran, he was a staff sergeant with Company "E" 355th Engineers and served in the European Theater during World War II.
Mr. Catrow was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
He was a member of American Legion Cowle Post 151.
He enjoyed golfing, gardening, bird watching and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Stephanie Gildone of Conneaut; four grandchildren, Brandon, Michael and Ryan Catrow and Bryan Gildone; and a great - grandson, Christian Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gregory L.; a grandson, Shawn G.; four brothers, Herb, George, Eugene and Charles; and a sister, Jane Wilson.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Monday at the Marcy Fueral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 208 Liberty St., with the Rev. Clyde A. McGee, pastor of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood cemetery.
Calling hour is 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

David L. Hart
WAYNE TOWNSHIP - Hayes Road resident David L. Hart, 50, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999, at his home in Wayne Township.
Born Aug. 3, 1949, in Cleveland, he was the son of Calvin L. and Macel (Shaffer) Hart.
He married
the former Diana M. Maki on May 25, 1968.
Formerly of Austinburg, he had lived in Wayne Township for more than 30 years. He was a 1968 graduate of Grand Valley High School.
He was employed for many years as a carpenter in the construction field. More recently, he had worked for the Pymatuning Valley schools, as a bus driver for six years and as a custodian for seven years.
Mr. Hart was a member of the New Lyme Masonic Lodge 452 and the Free and Assisted Masons.
He enjoyed bowling and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Betsy M. Lowe of Wayne Township; two grandchildren; his stepmother, Delilah Hart of Windsor; his stepfather, Paul Ferrry of Rome Township; six brothers, John and Bill of San Diego, Calif., Ray and Leonard of Colebrook Township, Mark of Mentor and Jeffrey of Rome Township; and five sisters, Carolyn Rigdon of Thompson, Alice Hart and Barbara Ogle of Cleveland, Shirley Bogner of Geneva and Darlene Arnold of Akron.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral is 1:30 p.m. Monday at Baumgardner Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 134 Prospect St., Andover. Burial will be in Huntsburg Center cemetery.

Byron B. Ellsworth
CONNEAUT - Byron B. Ellsworth, 85, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999, at Inn Conneaut.
Born Aug. 5, 1914, in Ashtabula, he was a son of Frederick and Linda (Davis) Ellsworth.
He married
Jean M. Gill on Oct. 11, 1941, in Ashtabula.
Before moving to the Conneaut facility, he had lived in Madison for 30 years.
He had operated Chapeldale Fashions for 14 years. He also had operated grocery stores.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy V. Cassell of Clearwater, Fla.; a niece, Barbara Cassell; and two nephews, Robert and Richard Cassell.
He was prceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother, Stanley Ellsworth.
Funeral is 1 p.m. today at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, with the Rev. John Germaine of Chapel United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Saybrook cemetery in Saybrook Township.
Calling hour is noon to 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
George Albert King
ASHTABULA - George Albert King, 91, of Bunker Hill Road, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
The son of Albert and Theresa Matilda (Spicer) King, he was born July 19, 1908, in Portsmouth, England. He had lived most of his life in the London area. He had lived in Ashtabula since 1970.
He worked as a technical engineer and coach builder with London Transport. Prior to that, he worked as a coach builder for Rolls Royce automobile bodies. He worked on experimental aircraft during World War II and served as pageboy in a London hotel.
After he came to the United States, Mr. King worked for Pinney Dock and tuned pianos for 14 years.
He attended the First Church of Christ Scientist.
He often took friends who couldn't drive on errands and to appointments.
He was a member of the Ashtabula Fish Club and NEO Radio Flyers, with whom he built and flew remote - controlled model aircraft.
He enjoyed building and competing with model race cars, woodworking, graining (an art learned from his father, whose work could be seen all over London), music, ballroom dancing, reading, his garden and his grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Julia Radike of Ashtabula; four grandchildren, Michele Young of Dorset, Greg Swann of Jefferson, Deborah Blough of Lenox and Kristina Swann of Mentor; seven great - grandchildren; eight great - great grandchildren; two brothers, William "Len" King of Kettering, England, and Bryan King of South Devon, England; one sister, Vera Gunner of Kettering; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Ivy Ruth (Simmons) King on Oct. 3, 1983; his dear friend and companion of eight years, Mina Cheney; two brothers, Tom and Frank King; a sister, Violet; and a brother and sister in infancy.
Service is 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula. The Rev. Kenneth Roberts, pastor of the Pentecostal Church of God, will officiate.

James I. Weddle
ANDOVER - James I. "Red" Weddle, 73, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at the Miller Memorial Health Care Center in Andover.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Fleming Funeral Home Inc., a Family Care Group affiliate, 49 West Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. G. Reed Taylor, interim pastor of the Lenox Federated Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lenox Center cemetery.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Nancy G. Headley
GENEVA - Nancy G. Headley, 98, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at the Geneva Health Care Center. She had resided there for several years.
Mrs. Headley was born Nov. 7, 1901, in Tyler County, W. Va. She was the daughter of Lyalisha B. and Clarice (Dillon) Tennant. She wed Elbert R. Headley Oct. 19, 1920.
An Ashtabula County resident since 1967, she moved here from West Virginia. She was a member of Geneva Church of God and the Rebekah Lodge of West Virginia.
Her hobbies included reading the Bible, doing needlepoint, crocheting, quilting and cooking.
Survivors include a son, Gerald L. of Kingsville Township; eight grandchildren, Gerald E., Garry and Gregory Headley, Barbara J. Henry, Nancy J. Baugh, Ricky C. Campbell, Carol A. Horan and Rebeccah L. Stancliff; 21 grandchildren; 19 great - grandchildren; a sister, Pear Headley of Ashtabula; and a brother, Issac Tennant of Kingsville.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Headley was preceded in death by her husband, in 1980; a son, Everett, in 1997; a grandson, David, in 1958; four sisters, Leota Headley, Lettie Spencer, Blaine Tennant and Jane Howe; and five brothers, Arthur, Lonnie, Lloyd, Raymond and Thomas Tennant.
Service is 11 a.m. Thursday at the Fleming Funeral Home Inc., a Family Care Group affiliate, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Michael Grant of Amboy United Methodist Church and Elder Richard Brunsman of the Geneva Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in the Eagleville cemetery.

Robert W. Schiedel
ASHTABULA - Robert William Schiedel, 73, a former Jefferson resident, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. He had been a resident of Carington Park for the last year.
The son of John and Frankie (Jolliffe) Schiedel, he was born Feb. 10, 1926. He was a lifelong area resident.
He served with the Army during World War II and worked nearly 30 years at Elkem Metals.
Survivors include a son, William of Jefferson; a daughter, Barbara Wright of Warren, Pa.; five grandchildren, Bill Jr., Chad, Ryan, Matthew and Tabitha; and three great - grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Brenkus) Schiedel; two sons, Charles Harold and Robert W., both in infancy; seven sisters, Ida Mae Schiedel, Margaret Coy, Doris Sherman, Betty Schiedel, Eleanor Waltari, Gertrude Faulkerson and Beatrice Slater; and a brother, Norman "Bud" Schiedel.
Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Kenneth Roberts, pastor of the Pentecostal Church of God, officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery in Plymouth Township.

Mary A. Byler
HUNTSBURG TOWNSHIP - Mary A. Byler, 79, of Clay Street, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at her home, following a lengthy illness.
The daughter of Noah and Lydia (Miller) Miller, she was born April 3, 1920 and lived in the area her entire life.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Survivors include her husband, Alvin M., whom she wed March 2, 1942, in Mesopotamia Township; sons Mose and Andy of Middlefield; daughters Lydia Miller of Middlefield and Ann Fleck of Michigan; 30 grandchildren; 32 great - grandchildren; seven brothers and four sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
Service is 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the residence, 12880 Clay St., with Bishop Jake Kauffman officiating. Burial will be in Miller cemetery, Huntsburg Township.

Harold English
HUNTINGTON BEACH - Harold "Hop" English, 75, died Jan. 14, 2000.
The son of Samuel and Rena (Latimer) English, he was born Nov. 27, 1924, in Ashtabula, he was the son of Samuel and Rena (Latimer) English. He moved to California in 1967.
Mr. English owned and operated Franchise Exhibits Co., in California. While in Ashtabula, he worked for Michael's Furniture and in the furniture department at the former Bargain Mart.
He served in the Merchant Marines and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He proudly displayed his tattoo, "Death Before Dishonor."
He enjoyed spending time with his family and his faithful dog "DJ."
His hobbies included bowling, dancing, roller skating.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley (Dye); a son, David; a daughter, Connie; and two brothers, Robert L. of Ashtabula and Earl Dalton of Marion.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice.
At Mr. English's request, he was cremated and no service will be held.
Joseph R. Gaggiano
ASHTABULA - Joseph R. Gaggiano, 69, of Ashtabula, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, in the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
The son of Louis and Louisa (Laurello), he was born Dec. 23, 1930, in Ashtabula.
He graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1948.
A member of St. Joseph Mission, he sang in the men's choir of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church several years ago.
He was a former dispatcher with the Ashtabula City Police Department.
Mr. Gaggiano was an avid card player and sports fan.
Survivors include one brother, Louis of Ashtabula; sisters Rita Moore of Ashtabula and Genevieve Savarise of Las Vegas; 17 nieces and nephews; 33 great - nieces and nephews; and one great - great - nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony, and three sisters, Felina Gaggiano, Margaret Serpico and Marie Massucci.
Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, with the Rev. Philip Miller officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.

Dannella Gilbert
ASHTABULA - Dannella Gilbert, 79, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at Carington Park Nursing Home.
The daughter of Angelo and Mary (Manupella) Notarianni, she was born Nov. 17, 1920, in Ashtabula.
A graduate of Ashtabula High School, she was a retired seamstress and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Survivors include a sister, Florence Camensky of Ashtabula.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Umberto Notarianni; and sisters Genevieve Santill, Stella Bruno, Ida Notarianni and Matilda Masters.
Service is 10 a.m. today at the Guerriero Funeral Home, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.
Tyler Logan Davis
ANDOVER - Tyler Logan Davis, son of Jeffrey and Tammy (Holcomb) Davis, North Main Street, was stillborn Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital, Conneaut.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, Michael Holcomb; grandparents Gene and Louise Davis of Ashtabula, Stacy Henery of New Lyme Township and John Holcomb of Eastlake; and a great - grandmother, Ruth Bright of New Lyme Township.
He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Ann Davis; and a great - grandfather, Homer Bright.
Funeral Mass is 2:45 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, 32 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson. The Rev. Stephen Wassie will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Eagleville cemetery.

Corabel Kean
FREDERICK, Md. - Corabel Kean, 85, of Montevue Home, Frederick, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
The daughter of the late Bice Buie and Pearl Sevey Buie Boggs Waters, she was born March 20, 1914.
She was employed by the Hanover Shoe Co., Middletown, in the late 1940s and Sagner Clothiers in Frederick until 1954.
She was a member of the Frederick First Church of the Nazarene, serving as crib nursery supervisor for many years. She retired in September 1983 for health reasons.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Blank of Frederick; four grandchildren, Jerry Blank of Adamstown, Md., Debbie Blank of Myersville, Md., Brian Blank of Baltimore, and Terri Sensenig of Frederick; and five great - grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Irsa Durfee and Irene Smith; two brothers, George and Francis Buie; and one half - brother, Herbert Boggs.
Service was held Jan. 28, at the Frederick First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Richard G. Diffenderfer officiating.
Burial was in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick.

Charles R. Owen
PEPPER PIKE - Charles R. "Bud" Owen, 74, retired personnel director for Heinen's Inc., died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at his home.
He was born in Lakewood, graduated from Geneva High School in 1943 and served in the Navy as a nose gunner in a bomber during World War II.
He also graduated from Case Western Reserve University.
He joined Heinen's six years before he retired in 1990. He had been a general manager for Austin Mine Tool Co.
Mr. Owen attended Fairmount Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder, deacon, trustee, usher and member of the personnel committee.
He was chairman of the Philanthropy Council of Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services. He and his wife were honored in November for their work at Breckenridge Village.
Survivors include his wife, Jean (Hoefler) Owen; one daughter, Susan O. Bookshar of Lyndhurst; one son, Richard H. of Chagrin Falls; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James.
Service was held Friday at Fairmount Presbyterian Church, 2757 Fairmount Blvd., Cleveland Heights.
Arrangements were handled by the Brown - Forward Funeral Home of Shaker Heights.
