Helen Hoskinson
Helen E. Hoskinson, 94, rural Defiance, died Wednesday morning in Brookview Healthcare Center.
She was born Nov. 29, 1907, in Defiance County's Tiffin Township, the daughter of Wade and Mary (Gares) Rethmel. In 1980, she married
M.G. Hoskinson, who died in 1987. She attended Defiance College, graduated from Ohio Wesleyan College, Delaware, in 1930, and received a master's degree from Ohio State University, Columbus, in 1951. She was a teacher in Tiffin Township, Stryker, Bradford and Pioneer and a member of Evansport United Methodist Church and Bryan Order of Eastern Star. Prior to retirement she was a home economist for Toledo Edison from 1954-1072.
Surviving are two stepsons, Bob of Bainbridge Island, Wash., and Tom, Tampa, Fla.; and a brother, Frank Rethmel, Defiance.
Also preceding her in death were a brother, Herman Rethmel; and a sister, Agnes Lentz.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church with Rev. Melvin Peter officiating. Burial will be in Evansport cemetery. Visitation is after 10 a.m. Saturday in the church with an Eastern Star prayer service at 10:45 a.m. Handling arrangements is Grisier Funeral Home, Stryker.
Preferred memorials are to the church or Hospice the Caring Way of Defiance.
Danny Beverly
HICKSVILLE - Danny Carl Beverly, 50, Hicksville, died at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday in Hickory Creek at Hicksville after an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 25, 1952, in Hicksville, the son of Robert and Beverly (Winebrenner) Beverly. In 1983, he married
Dawne Johnson, who survives. He was a truck driver for Hornish Brothers Inc., Archbold, and a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War from 1970-73. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Hicksville, West Unity's American Legion Post 669, Hicksville's Eagles Aerie 2556, Bryan's Moose Lodge 1064 and Sherwood's VFW Post 5665.
Also surviving are his mother, Hicksville; three sons; two daughters; two brothers, Robert of Edgerton and Ron, Hicksville; a sister, Lora Yoder, Hicksville; and four grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his father.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville, with Pastor Tom Graves officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home cemetery, Hicksville, with military services accorded by Sherwood's VFW Post 5665 and West Unity's American Legion Post 669. Visitation is after 2 p.m. Friday and after 8 a.m. Saturday.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor's choice.
Laurina Fahringer
NAPOLEON - Laurina Fahringer, 76, rural Napoleon, died Wednesday morning in Northcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Napoleon.
She was born Feb. 8, 1926, in Bay City, Mich., the daughter of Louis and Minnie (Scheele) Rauch. In 1946, she married
Marvin Fahringer, who survives. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, and worked on the family farm.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Mark (Brenda) Cole of Birmingham, Ala., and Linda McKever, Marva and Joyce, all of Napoleon; a son, Toby, Plymouth, Mass.; a brother, William Rauch, Deshler; four sisters, Mrs. Art (Magdelena) Volkman of Wauseon, Hildegard Eberle of Napoleon, Mrs. Ervin (Louise) Meyer of Hamler and Irene Rauch, Napoleon; and five grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was a brother, Martin Rauch.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the church with Revs. Norm Koy and Peter Marcis officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance County. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to American Lung Association, the church or a charity of the donor's choice.
Albert Kruse
NAPOLEON - Albert (Bert) F. Kruse, 77, rural Napoleon, died Wednesday morning in his home.
He was born Dec. 24, 1924, in Henry County's Freedom Township, the son of Henry and Ida (Meyer) Kruse. He was a farmer and a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Township, serving on its cemetery committee.
Surviving is a brother, Elmer, Freedom Township.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Fred.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the church with Rev. Stephen Niermann officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon.
Preferred memorials are to the church building fund, Lutheran Hour Ministries or a charity of the donor's choice.
Elizabeth Meyers
NEW BAVARIA - Elizabeth R. Meyers, 87, New Bavaria, died at 1 a.m. Tuesday in Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa.
She was born Feb. 20, 1915, in Lorain, the daughter of Fred and Rose (Drummelsmith) Webber. In 1939, she married
Edwin Meyers, who died in 1992. She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Norbert (Rosemary) Romes, Holgate; and a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death was a sister, Mary Schroeder.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Holgate, with Father Stephen Stanbery officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Church cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Sunday in Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, with a scripture service at 8 p.m.

Alice Aderman
WEST ALLIS, Wis. - Former Napoleon resident Alice R. Aderman, 81, West Allis, died Tuesday in Milwaukee.
Surviving are her husband, Ralph; a son, Jeff; a brother, Merle Rath: and a grandchild.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Friday in Krause Funeral Home, New Berlin. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Grelton cemetery, Grelton. Handling local arrangements is Walker Mortuary, Napoleon.

Theodora Heidepriem
Theodora C.L. Heidepriem, 85, Defiance, died at 5:55 a.m. Tuesday in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born April 27, 1917, in Williamsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred and Anna (Winter) Goeglein. In 1945, she married
Harland Heidepriem, who survives. She graduated from Defiance College, and taught with Defiance City Schools and St. John Lutheran School. She was a bookkeeper at the former Symonds Chevrolet and a member of St. John Lutheran Church and its Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Also surviving are two sons, Heide of Ellicott City, Md., and David, Defiance; two sisters, Martha Bok of Sherwood and Paula Antrainer, Florissant, Mo.; and four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, Robert and Martin Goeglein.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with Rev. Donald Luhring officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens. Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.

Ray Hall
Ray Hall, 64, Defiance, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in his home.
He was born May 10, 1937, in Washington County, Va., the son of Acie and Lillian (Hurt) Hall. The U.S. Marine Corps veteran was a maintenance supervisor at GM Powertrain for 39 years, retiring in 2000, and a member of VFW Post 3360 and AMVETS Post 1991.
Surviving are a daughter, Jessica Stuckey, Defiance; a son, Michael, Defiance; two brothers, Lee of Defiance and Robert, Hanson, Va.; a sister, Flo Gallant, Defiance; and two grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Max Begley officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens with military rites accorded by VFW Post 3360. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday.

Jesse Frey
ARCHBOLD - Former West Unity and Phoenix, Ariz., resident Jesse J. Frey, 85, Archbold, died Tuesday morning in Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon.
He was born Nov. 27, 1916, near Pettisville, the son of Aaron and Anna (Rupp) Frey. In 1940, he married
Helen Beck, who survives. He was a farmer, well driller, bookkeeper at Yoder & Frey in Archbold and an employee at Liechty Farm Supply, Montpelier. He was a member of Lockport Mennonite Church in Stryker, the choir director and sang with different quartets including the Gospel Nu-Tones for 20 years.
Also surviving are a son, Rodney, North Newton, Kan.; three daughters, Mrs. Alan (Jeanette) Whitehead of Elkhart, Ind., Mrs. James (Gloria) Graber of Stryker and Mrs. Rodney (Charlotte) Loetz, West Unity; a brother, A. Dale, Pettisville; two sisters, Ada Schrock of Archbold and Mrs. Charles (Velma) Kamp, Ridgeville Corners; and 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Aurelius and Elias; and six sisters, Agnes Schmucker, Violet Aeschliman, Bertha Stuckey, Grace Short, Ivah Beck and Mary Louise Frey.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with Pastors Allen Rutter and Mark Miller officiating. Burial will precede services Friday in Lockport cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Thursday in the church. Handling arrangements is Short Funeral Home, Archbold.

Earl Goldman
FORT WAYNE - Earl Goldman, 63, Fort Wayne, died at 1:26 a.m. (Ind. time) Tuesday in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born April 23, 1939, in English, Ind., the son of Gladys Highfill. He was a butcher at Kammeyer's IGA, Antwerp, for 30 years.
Surviving are a son, James Stewart, Fort Wayne; and two sisters, Norma Mosson, Marengo, Ind., and Diane Bernardi, English, Ind.
Preceding him in death was his mother.
Services will be at 12 p.m. Friday in Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp, with Rev. Jim Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Maumee cemetery, Antwerp. Visitation is from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
