Irene DeVore
ANTWERP - Irene B. DeVore, 72, Antwerp, died at 8:12 a.m. Saturday in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born March 20, 1930, in Wilmington, Del., the daughter of James and Eva (Groh) Clarkson. In 1949, she married
John DeVore, who survives. She was a gauge setter for 30 years at Dana Weatherhead, Antwerp, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Hicksville Eagles 2556, a social member of Antwerp VFW 5087, and a lifetime member of Payne AMVETS 92.
Also surviving are two sons, Jack of Antwerp and Mike, Payne; a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Linda) Wilhelm, Antwerp; a sister, Mrs. Frank (Betty) Casula, New Castle, Del.; and nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was a stepmother, Betty Clarkson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp, with Deacon Robert Nighswander officiating. Burial will be in Maumee cemetery, Antwerp. Visitation is 2-9 p.m. Monday, with a vigil service at 7 p.m.
Preferred memorials are to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Leslie Riter
BRYAN - Leslie Pendlton Riter, 91, Bryan, died Saturday in Park View Nursing Home, Edgerton.
He was born April 30, 1910, in McComb, the son of Clyde and Martha Pendlton Riter. In 1932, he married
Marjorie Gaskill, who died in 1998. He was a medic in the U.S. Army during World War II in both the Pacific and European Theaters, and held a private pilot's license since 1954. He was a member of the American Legion Post 284, Bryan, and was former member of Bryan Moose.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Carol) Faber of Montpelier, Gloria Humphrey of Bryan, and Shirley Welsh, Edgerton; a sister, Mrs. Max (Marceil) Bruot, Bryan; two brothers, Lyle and Calvin; and 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were a son, Gary; a sister, Lucille Throne; two brothers, Doyle and Wayne Riter; and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Brethren Church, Bryan, with Rev. Troy Cummins officiating. Burial will be in Shiffler cemetery, Pulaski. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home, Bryan.
Preferred memorials are to Experimental Aircraft Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
Donelda Corwin
FORT WAYNE - Donelda A. Corwin, 84, Fort Wayne, died Thursday in Lynnwood Manor, Adrian, Mich.
She was born May 31, 1917, in Montpelier, the daughter of Carl and Florence (Rogers) Ragan. She married
Harold "Jack" Corwin, who died in 1990. She was a homemaker and a former member of the board of directors of Hope House, Fort Wayne.
Surviving are a son, James Carroll, Gainsville, Ga., two stepsons, Arthur Corwin of Fort Wayne and Roger Corwin, Hicksville; a sister, Mildred McNamee, Adrian; and seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, Fort Wayne, with Rev. Rob Williams officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to services Tuesday.

Donna Jones
PIONEER - Donna Marie Jones, 46, Pioneer, died Saturday in her home.
She was born Sept. 5, 1955, in Bryan, the daughter of Cleo "Bob" Jack and Edna (Thompson) Miller. She married
Curtis Jones, who survives. She was a homemaker and a waitress at Kaufmann's of Bryan, a purchasing agent for Anderson-Vreeland of Bryan, and a toll collector for the Ohio Turnpike. She was a member of the Pioneer VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Also surviving are two sons, Chad Beck of Archbold and Troy Beck, Stryker; a daughter, Mrs. Tim (Misty) Knapp, West Unity; her mother, Leitchfield, Ky; three brothers, Bob and Dave Jack, both of Wax, Ky., and Rick Jack, Bryan; a sister, Judy Klootwyk, Angola, Ind.; and nine grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her father; a stepfather, Harry Hutchison; and an infant granddaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hollingshead Funeral Home, West Unity, with Rev. Larry Snow officiating. Burial will be in Floral Grove cemetery, West Unity. Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Preferred memorials are to the family.
Hazel Duncan
WAUSEON - Hazel J. Duncan, 77, Wauseon, Friday in Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon.
She was born March 8, 1925, in Wauseon, the daughter of Elmer and Minnie Hoffman. In 1945, she married
William Duncan, who survives. She was a cook for Wauseon Schools for 15 years, retiring in 1985, and was a member of First Church of God, Wauseon.
Also surviving are three sons, Richard of Collierville, Tenn., and Robert and James, both of Wauseon; and seven grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were three brothers, Gerald, Roy and Orlo Hoffman.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church, with Rev. Westley Glines officiating. Burial will be in Zion cemetery, rural Wauseon. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday in Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon.
Preferred memorials are to the church.
Jean Gorsuch
WAUSEON - Jean Arlene Gorsuch, 77, Wauseon, died early Friday in her home.
She was born Nov. 15, 1924, in Defiance, the daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth (Osborne) Lawrence. In 1947, she married
Kenneth Gorsuch, who survives. She was a homemaker and was also employed by the Wauseon Wire factory prior to her retirement. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, rural Wauseon, and a member of the United Methodist Women.
Also surviving are three sons, Thomas of DeWitt, Mich., and Timothy and Terry, both of Wauseon; a brother, Orville Lawrence, Inverness, Fla.; a sister, Treva Zolman, Wauseon; and 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was a brother, Frederick Lawrence Jr.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church, with Rev. Joe Chrisman officiating. Burial will be in Zion cemetery, rural Wauseon. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Monday and 2-6 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon, is in charge of arrangements.
Preferred memorials are to the church or Fulton County Hospice.
Helen Hackett
WAUSEON - Helen Pifer Hackett, 100, Wauseon, died Friday in Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home, Archbold.
She was born Aug. 19, 1901, in Mulberry, Mich., the daughter of James and Anna (Doyle) Pifer. In 1925, she married
Lowell Hackett, who died in 1990. She received a life teaching certificate from Ypsilanti (Mich.) Normal School and was a teacher at Gary, Ind., Metamora, York Township school in Fulton County, and Elm Street School, Wauseon, retiring after 37 years. After her retirement, she served as a substitute teacher until the age of 72. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Wauseon, Wauseon Womens' Club, Business and Professional Womens' Club, Wauseon Garden Club, Order of Eastern Star and was a life member in the Ohio Retired Teacher's Association. She also was a volunteer at Detwiler Memorial Hospital and Fulton County Health Center, both of Wauseon.
Surviving are a son, Hal, Archbold; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (MaryAnn) Dickson, Groveport; and seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Amboy Township cemetery, rural Metamora, with Rev. Randy Lowe officiating. There is no visitation. Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
John Boyd Jr.
Services for John L. Boyd Jr. were held Saturday at Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Anderson officiating. Burial was in Riverside cemetery. Pallbearers were Greg Etter, Brad and Bob Federinko, Buzz Lantow, Larry Noffsinger, and Bill, Jim and Shawn Wolff. Honorary pallbearers were Andy Boyd, Dick Cunningham, Dale Davis, Denny Frederick and Joe Hensley.
Noah Tompkins
Services for Noah William Tompkins were held Saturday at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home with Rev. Melvin Peter officiating. Burial was in Evansport cemetery. Pallbearers were Rob Griffith, Orville Pettry, Bobby Brown and Ronnie Dewitt.
Cory Peterson
EDGERTON - Cory A. Peterson, 16, Edgerton, died at 9:45 a.m. Thursday in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident on March 22 in Defiance county.
He was born Aug. 14, 1985, in Defiance, the son of Jeffrey and Lori (Calvin) Peterson. He was a junior at Edgerton High School, enrolled at Four County Career Center, Archbold, in the commercial graphic arts program. He attended Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint's Church, Bryan, where he was a member of the seminary class.
Surviving are his mother, Edgerton; his father and stepmother, Darlene Peterson, Defiance; three brothers, Jake and Devin of Edgerton and Brady, Defiance; three sisters, Mackenzie and Kelsey of Edgerton and Taryn, Defiance; three stepbrothers, Brodrick, Tyler and Shay, all of Defiance; and a grandmother, Sandy Peterson, Defiance.
Preceding him in death were grandparents, Doyle and Rose Calvin and Gerald Peterson; and great-grandparents, Alvera Comerford and James Gray.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, with Brother Ben Dorsey, Pastor James Thacker and Father Frederick Duschle officiating. Burial will be in Brown cemetery, near Bryan. Visitation is after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Preferred memorials are to Ronald McDonald House at Parkview Hospital or the family.
Philip Miller II
EDGERTON - Philip L. Miller II, 44, Edgerton, died at 9:09 p.m. Saturday in Community Hospitals of Williams County-Bryan.
He was born Dec. 17, 1957, in Jackson, Mich., the son of Phillip Sr. and Carol (Allen) Miller. He was a die setter at Regent Manufacturing, Edgerton, and a member of Bryan AMVETS.
Surviving are his father, Defiance; two sons, Philip III of Big Stone Gap, Va., and Jeremiah (Duey), Edgerton; two brothers, Curtis of West Unity and Tim Sampson, Michigan City, Mich.; a sister, Cathy Forbes, Garrett, Ind.; and four grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his mother.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. Visitation is from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor's choice.
Charlotte Hull
McCLURE - Charlotte L. Hull, 78, McClure, died at 3:35 a.m. Sunday in Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green.
She was born Sept. 21, 1923, in Henry County's Monroe Township, the daughter of Carl and Ada (Shepard) Mowery. In 1948, she married
Knowlton Hull, who survives. She attended Bowling Green State University, earned a teaching certificate, was a teacher at Pemberville and a substitute teacher at Henry County schools. She was a member of McClure United Methodist Church and a Henry County Board of Elections worker.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Linda) Pierce, Findlay; three sons, Edward of Malinta, Terry of McClure and Randy, Liberty Center; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was a brother, Richard Mowery.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Rodenberger Funeral Home, McClure, with Pastor Fred Richards officiating. Burial will be in Hockman cemetery, McClure. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.
