Doris Wenner
LANSING, Mich. - Former Napoleon resident Doris Lucille Wenner, 86, Lansing, died Tuesday morning in her residence.
She was born Jan. 9. 1916, in Wood County's Bloom Township, the daughter of Harley and Erma Billingsley. In 1936, she married Edgar Wenner, who died in 1991.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, with Rev. Mary Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery. Visitation is after 9 a.m. Friday.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor's choice.

Clara Rose
Services for Clara F. Rose were held Tuesday at Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. David Good officiating. Burial was in St. John cemetery, Tiffin Township. Pallbearers were Bill, David and Jeff Lipman, Ralph Edie and Dave Dickson.

Agnes Kahle
Agnes E. Kahle, 89, rural Defiance, died Monday evening in Harborside Healthcare. Among survivors are a son, Richard; and a daughter, Teresa Ann. Arrangements are pending at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home.

Leona Thomas
GROVER HILL - Leona P. Thomas, 104, Grover Hill, died at 5:38 a.m. Monday in Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert.
She was born Sept. 8, 1897, in Paulding County's Washington Township, the daughter of James and Minnie (Mericle) McClure. In 1915, she married William Thomas, who died in 1981. She was a homemaker and a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Grover Hill, Grover Hill Community Club and Paulding County Senior Center.
Surviving are four daughters, Olive Scherer, Rheba Miller and Donna Adams, all of Grover Hill, and Betty Koenig, Van Wert; a son, William Thomas, Lima; and 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Russell and Noble McClure; two sisters, Edna Bidlack and Lyda Lloyd; and a granddaughter and a great-grandson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, with Revs. Paul Miller and Kevin Patton officiating. Burial will be in Middle Creek cemetery, Grover Hill. Visitation is from 2:30-9 p.m. Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday.
Preferred memorials are to Grover Hill EMS, Paulding County Area Visiting Nurses Association or the church.

Dr. Thad Earl
YUMA, Ariz. - Former Defiance resident Dr. Thad Joseph Earl, 73, died Sept. 30 in Yuma, after a brief illness.
He was born June 10, 1928, in Eaton Rapids, Mich. He married Stella Conklin, who died in 2000. He attended Albion College in Albion, Mich., University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich., and completed his internship at Toledo Hospital. He did advanced obstetrics training at Cook County Hospital and practiced in Defiance. The U.S. Army veteran also practiced at the Arizona Academy of Family Practitioners, received awards from many professional societies and was named to Who's Who. He practiced family medicine for 45 years in Ohio, New Mexico and Arizona and volunteered for medical community aid in the Philippines, Guatemala and various international locations.
Surviving are three daughters, Susan Rose of Yuma, Kathleen Colverson of Gainesville, Fla., and Doreen, Bellingham, Wash.; two sons, Jeffrey of Louisburg, Kan., and Daniel, Jonesborough, Tenn.; and grandchildren.
Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Garden, Lansing, Mich.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. July 20 in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Defiance.

Beverly Westrick
JACKSON, Mich. - Beverly M. Westrick, 73, Jackson, died Friday in Foote Hospital, Jackson.
She was born Nov. 24, 1928, in Port Clinton, the daughter of William and Dorothy Williams. She married Quinten Westrick, who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are three daughters, Sandra Milligan and Lynn Weinhardt, both of Jackson, and Cindy Gregory, Huron; two sons, Gary and Jeffery Weinhardt, both of Jackson; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and a sister, Delores Goodale.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Charles Burden Funeral Home, Jackson. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery, Jackson. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Preferred memorials are to the American Lung Association or a charity of the donor's choice.

Danny Manchester
HOLLAND, Mich. - Services for Danny Manchester, who died March 3, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall, Defiance. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Defiance. Handling arrangements is Dykstra Funeral Home, Holland.

Doris Wenner
LANSING, Mich. - Doris Wenner, 86, Lansing, died this morning in her home. Arrangements are pending at Walker Mortuary, Napoleon.

Sylvia Roehrig
Graveside services for Sylvia Lillian Roehrig were held Monday in Riverside cemetery with Sam Sauer officiating. Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home handled arrangements.

John Tuohy
Services for John B. Tuohy were held Monday at St. John's Catholic Church with Father Thomas Oedy officiating. Burial was in Riverside cemetery. Music was provided by Dave Moninger and Nicole Blank. Pallbearers were Tim, John, Bryce and Sam Tuohy, Mike Minsel, Jay and Joe Kime and Jake Westrick. Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home handled arrangements.

John Tuohy
John B. Tuohy, 85, Defiance, died at 9:08 a.m. Friday in Defiance Hospital.
He was born July 3, 1916, in Defiance, the son of Frank and Stella (Price) Tuohy. In 1936, he married Maude Clemens, who survives. He was employed as a general foreman-plant engineer at Diehl, Inc. of Defiance, Pet Milk Co. of Delta, and Page Dairy, Toledo. He also had a radio show on WOWO in Fort Wayne, WFIN in Findlay, and WONW, Defiance. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, the U.S Coast Guard Association, Buckeye Sheriff Association, and FOP. He was a lifetime member of Stationary Engineer and a past member of Defiance Eagles and Defiance County Fish and Game Association. He was also a member of ABLE and was instrumental in getting handicap parking in Defiance.
Also surviving are two sons, Al of Defiance, and John, Toledo; three daughters, Mrs. William (Pat) Michael of Ney, and Mrs. George (Rita) Westrick and Mrs. Jack (Jane) Minsel, both of Defiance; a brother, Victor, Paulding; and 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, and four great-stepgrandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a brother and a grandson.
Services will be at noon Monday in the church with Father Thomas Oedy officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. today in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Preferred memorials are to Alzheimer's Association.

Clara Rose
BUTLER, Ind. - Former Defiance resident Clara F. Rose, 103, Butler, died early Saturday morning at Laurels of Butler.
She was born April 27, 1898 in Hancock County, the daughter of W.D. and Emma (Orwick) Farmer. She was a housewife. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Defiance, where she was a member of the Florence Lehman Class.
Surviving is a sister, Neva Lipman, Angola, Ind.
Preceding her in death were two sisters, Dorothy Farmer and Bertha Posey; and a brother, Lloyd Farmer.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. David Good officiating. Burial is in St. John's cemetery, Tiffin Township. Visitation is two hours prior to services.
Preferred memorials are to the church.

Erwin Eaken
GROVER HILL - Erwin D. Eaken, 88, Grover Hill, died at 9:20 a.m. Saturday in Dallas Lamb Nursing Home, Payne.
He was born Feb. 5, 1914, in Rockford, the son of Orl and Cecile (Martz) Eaken. In 1938 he married Harriet Long, who died in 1989. He was retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Dana, Antwerp; six daughters, Mrs. Walter (Margaret) Womack of Antwerp, Mrs. Ron (Shirley) Myers of Sturgis, Mich., Marjorie McBride of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Galen (Donna) Dettmer of Yoder, Ind., Mrs. Richard (Rita) Lambert of Grover Hill, and Mrs. Robert (Marcella) Blackmore, Payne; a brother, Robert, Toledo; two sisters, Mrs. Val (Joan) Crabtree of Dayton, and Mrs. Loyal (Martha) Christensen, El Segundo, Calif.; and 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were a son, Tim; four brothers; three sisters; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, with Revs. Paul Miller and Kevin Patton officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View cemetery, Paulding County's Latty Township. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday.
Preferred memorials are to Dallas Lamb Nursing Home.

Reinold Emery
GROVER HILL - Reinold A. "Ron" Emery, 54, Grover Hill, died at 2:23 p.m. Thursday in his home.
He was born Oct. 12, 1947, in Midland, Mich., the son of Reinold Sr. and Loretta (Brown) Emery . He married Darlene Carlson, who survives. He was a general laborer for 34 years at Grief Brothers, Van Wert. He was a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the Michigan Game Breeders Assoc. and American Pheasant and Waterfowl Society.
Surviving are a son, Chad, High Point, N.C.; a daughter, Stacey Mathani, Tampa, Fla.; his parents, Midland; a brother, Randy, Jacksonville; four sisters, Janice and Mrs. Butch (Connie) Wilkinson of Midland, Mrs. Dickie (Marylou) Yackel of Houston, Texas, and Rose Ackerman, Florida; and four grandchildren.
There will be no services or visiting hours. Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent to agfh@bright.net

Sylvia Roehrig
GULF BREEZE, FLA. - Former Defiance resident Sylvia L. Roehrig, 90, Gulf Breeze, died Tuesday in Pensacola, Fla.
She was born April 29, 1911, in Defiance County, the daughter of Florian and Anna (Janicek) Ricicia. She married Lester Roehrig, who died in 1971. She was one of the founders of Twin Rivers Garden Club of Defiance, a life member of the Florida Federation of Gardens Club, and very active in the Gulf Breeze Garden Club and the Orchid Club. She was famous in Florida for her beautiful orchids, flower gardens and arrangements.
Surviving are a son, Lael Nelson, Hicksville; two daughters, Esther McKeen of Gulf Breeze, and Mrs. Stan (Edith) Guttmacher, Fort Wayne; two sisters, Mrs. Gerry (Amy) Hoshock of Defiance, and Ann Fields, Bushnell, Fla.; and eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were three sisters, Kathryn Ricicia, Sophia Hanker and Mary Weisenburger Behringer.
Private graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Riverside cemetery. Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Preferred memorials are to Hospice the Caring Way of Defiance.

Mary Lou Taylor
HAMLER - Mary Lou Taylor, 59, Hamler, died Thursday afternoon in Henry County Hospital.
She was born Sept. 1, 1942, in Napoleon, the daughter of Edmund and Amanda (Meyer) Miller. She was a bartender at Bob & Luke's Bar of Hamler for 12 years. She was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Patricia Tweed of Napoleon, Kay of Defiance, and Lorrie, Port Orange, Fla.; a brother, Charles Miller, Napoleon; a sister, Marilyn Warnimont, Napoleon; a special friend, Harry Scott, McClure; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon. Burial will follow in Glenwood cemetery. Visitation is two hours prior to services.
Preferred memorials are to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
