Orville Stuckey
ARCHBOLD - Orville (Shorty) D. Stuckey, 85, Archbold, died Wednesday morning at Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon.
He was born June 21, 1916, near Archbold, the son of Peter and Anna (Short) Stuckey. In 1944, he married Sadie Heishman, who survives. He was a retired farmer and Gutwein Seed dealer for more than 50 years. A charter member of Lockport Mennonite Church, rural Stryker, he and his wife wintered in Bradenton, Fla.
Also surviving are two sons, Terry of Somerset, Mich., and Randy, Archbold; a daughter, Jane, Archbold; a brother, Chauncey, Archbold; a sister, Mary Stuckey, Archbold; and two grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were three brothers, John, Wayne and Paul, in infancy; and a sister, Alta Nafziger.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the church with Pastors Allen Rutter, Mark Miller and Anne Stuckey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Friday in the church. Handling arrangements is Short Funeral Home, Archbold.
Preferred memorials are to Mennonite Central Committee, Defiance Area Youth for Christ or a charity of the donor's choice.

Clara Louagie
CONVOY - Clara M. Louagie, 78, Convoy, died at 11:21 p.m. Tuesday in St. Rita's Hospital, Lima.
She was born July 21, 1923, in Belgium, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Garmyn) Darras. In 1944, she married Maurice Louagie, who died April 13. She was a homemaker and member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville, Ind., and its Altar Rosary Society.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Mary) Junkin of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Robert (Diane) Thornell, Paulding; two sons, Bob of Payne and Daniel, Convoy; three brothers, Andrew and James Darras of Van Wert and Richard Darras, Monroeville; a sister, Dorothy Vorndran, Auburn, Ind.; and 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a son, William; a sister, Mary Zuber; and a brother, Rolland Darras.
A prayer service will be at 9:30 a.m. (Ind. time) in Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville. Services will then be at 10 a.m. (Ind. time) Saturday in the church with Father Paul Coutinha officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. (Ind. time) Friday at the funeral home with a rosary service at 8 p.m.

Loretta Meyer
HAMLER - Loretta Meyer, 78, Hamler, died Thursday in Henry County Hospital, Napoleon. Arrangements are pending at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler.

Nelson Welch
LIBERTY CENTER - Nelson G. Welch, 76, Liberty Center, died Wednesday evening at Northcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Napoleon. Arrangements are pending at Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center.

Velma Shields
LEIPSIC - Velma L. Shields, 86, Leipsic, died at 2 a.m. Wednesday in Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa.
She was born Sept. 29, 1915, in Leipsic, the daughter of Ruben and Ida (Thomas) Arnold. She married John Shields, who preceded her in death. She worked at Campbell's Soup Supply Co., Napoleon, retiring in 1983, and was a member of the former EUB Church, West Leipsic.
Surviving is a sister, Nina Carnahan, Evansport.
Preceding her in death were three brothers, Clarence, Harry and Leonard Arnold.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic, with Rev. Mary Bushong officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday.
Preferred memorials are to Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa.

Glenn Mott
PAULDING - Glenn A. Mott, 81, Paulding, died at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday in Paulding County Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 28, 1920, in Paulding County, the son of Rollie and Donna (Sloppy) Mott. In 1942, he married Helen Reinhart, who survives. He was a maintenance employee for 27 years at LaFarge Corp., retiring in 1984, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulding and Columbus American Legion Post 888. The U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II was a charter member of John Paulding Historical Society and Paulding Fish and Game Club.
Also surviving are three sons, Bill of Brillion, Wis., Robert of Neenah, Wis., and Michael, Paulding; a daughter, Sandra, Fort Wayne; and nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Bernard and Rolland Brown.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the church with Rev. G. Allan Fillman officiating. Burial will be in Paulding Memorial cemetery with military services accorded by Paulding VFW Post 587. Visitation is from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, with a rosary service at 8 p.m.
Preferred memorials are to Father Flanagan's Boys Town, Paulding County Hospital Nurses' Fund or Paulding Area Visiting Nurses and Hospice.

A. Ferne Wyse
WAUSEON - A. Ferne Wyse, 84, Wauseon, died Wednesday morning in her home following an extended illness.
She was born April 23, 1918, in Frontier, Mich., the daughter of Abraham and Nellie (McMillan) Kohli. In 1946, she married A. Roy Wyse, who survives. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Wauseon, and retired after 20 years at the USDA office in Wauseon.
Also surviving are four sons, Larry of St. Paul, Minn., Toby of Conklin, N.Y., and Gene and Jerry, both of Wauseon; two daughters, Mrs. Tom (Angie) McWatters and Judy, both of Wauseon; a brother, Ezra Kohli, Wauseon; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church with Rev. Ronald Shipley officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Delta. Visitation is from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon.
Preferred memorials are to the church or a charity of the donor's choice.

Noah Ream Jr.
Services for Noah (Bud) J. Ream Jr. were held Wednesday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Alfred Schroeder officiating. Burial was in Riverview Memory Gardens. Pallbearers were Ward Replogle, Mark Reynolds, Dave and Butch Sines, Darwin Hancock and Ray Brown.

Jade Kaufman
Jade Hunter Kaufman, Defiance, was stillborn at 12:27 a.m. Saturday in Defiance Hospital.
She was the daughter of James Jewell and Brandy Kaufman, Defiance. Also surviving are two half brothers, Kurtis Scranton and Tyrone Cowdra, both of Defiance; grandparents, Norice Bechtol and Ernie Jewell, both of Defiance, Tracy Michaelson of Mansfield, Evelyn Knuth of Middlepoint and Sandra Myers, Grover Hill; and great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Kaufman of Montpelier and Nancy Baldwin, Defiance.
Preceding her in death were great-grandparents, Claude Baldwin, Earl Helfer and Morris Jewell.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Riverview Memory Gardens with Rev. Max Begley officiating. There will be no visitation. Handling arrangements is Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home.
Preferred memorials are to the family.

Agnes Kahle
Agnes E. Kahle, 89, rural Defiance, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday in Harborside Healthcare.
She was born June 13, 1912, in Leipsic, the daughter of G. Theodore and Theresia (Ellerbrock) Meyer. In 1933, she married Alfred Kahle, who died in 1977. She was the cafeteria manager at St. Michael's School and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church where she was a eucharistic minister, past president of Defiance Deanery of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia and member of its Altar Rosary Society and 55 Plus Club. She served on Toledo Diocese board, parish council and Defiance Senior Citizens board, sponsored a student for priesthood in South India and was a member of Defiance Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving are a son, Richard, Defiance; a daughter, Teresa Ann, Albany, N.Y.; a brother, Herman Meyer, Ft. Jennings; and six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death was a sister, Lucy Drummelsmith; and a brother, Edward Meyer.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with Father Dave Tscherne officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Thursday in Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m.
Preferred memorials are to the church or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Phoebe Culver
BRYAN - Phoebe J. Culver, 59, Bryan, died Monday in her residence following an extended illness.
She was born June 12, 1942, in Stryker, the daughter of John and Edna (Shepard) Simmons. In 1971, she married Terry Culver, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Rebecca of Bryan and Anna Marie Rosenthal, Wisconsin; a son, Mark Anderson, Wisconsin; a sister, Mrs. Arthur (Rosalie) Haye, Stryker; and 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Lesta Gordon and Oda Faye Simmons; two half sisters, Velma Daft and Mary Peugout; and a brother, Clarence Simmons.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Rice Funeral Home, Bryan, with Rev. Melvin Peter officiating.
Preferred memorials are to the Phoebe Culver Memorial Trust Fund.

Sheila White
DELTA - Sheila Sue Gibson White, 48, Delta, died Monday afternoon in her home, following an extended illness.
She was born April 8, 1954, in Norton, Va., the daughter of John and Evelyn (Minnix) Gibson. In 1976, she married Grover White, who survives. She was a nurse's aide at Fairlawn Haven, Archbold, and worked at Fulton Tubing. She volunteered at Pike-Delta-York Local Schools and Delta area Boy and Girl Scout programs.
Also surviving are her mother, Wauseon; two sons, Brian and Christopher, both of Delta; a daughter, Mrs. Matthew (Aleshia) Barricklow, Convoy; two sisters, Pam Counselman of McClure and Jane Ruby, Liberty Center; a brother, Raymond Ramey, Clarksville, Ind.; and a grandchild.
Preceding her in death were her father and grandparents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon, with Rev. Richard Young officiating. Burial will be in Young's cemetery, Liberty Center. Visitation is from 2-4 and 5-9 p.m. Thursday.
Preferred memorials are to the family.

Glenn Mott
PAULDING - Glenn A. Mott, 81, Paulding, died at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday in Paulding County Hospital following an extended illness. Surviving is his wife, Helen. Arrangements are pending at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding.

James Wilde
FLORENCE, S.C. - Former Defiance resident James E. Wilde, 66, Florence, died Sunday in Carolina Hospital, Florence.
He was born Nov. 8, 1935, in Norwalk, the son of Howard Sr. and Mildred (Knoll) Wilde. In 1955, he married Berta Shepherd, who survives. He retired as a supervisor in 1989 from General Motors after 25 years and was co-owner of S/W Printing, Florence. He was also a member of Defiance Eagles Aerie 372 and Florence Eagles Aerie 1020.
Also surviving are three sons, James and Russell, both of Defiance, and Richard Wilde, Fort Wayne; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Sande) Siler, Westerville; two sisters, Iva-Lee Osterling of Norwalk and Patricia Callahan, DeRidder, La.; a brother, Norman, Norwalk; and 12 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Howard Jr. and Arthur; and a sister, Helen Leslie.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, Defiance, with Dr. Roger Braun officiating. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home.
Preferred memorials are to the American Cancer Society.
