Michael Kowssarie
BRYAN - Michael Arash Kowssarie, 312, Bryan, died Thursday evening in Toledo Hospital.
He was born Aug. 11, 1998, in Salt Lake City, the son of Behshad and Andrea (Marlow) Kowssarie, who survive. He attended Bryan City Preschool.
Also surviving are four grandparents, Hooshang and Behnaz Kowssarie of Gothenburg, Sweden, and Donald and Suzanna Marlow, Bryan; and three great-grandparents, John Marlow of Valdosta, Ga., Charles Gase of Toledo, and Beatrice Williams, Orlando.
Preceding him in death was a grandmother, Judy Marlow.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home with Rev. David Proctor officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Grove cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Preferred memorials are to Cerebral Palsy research.

Robert Lucas
BRYAN - Robert L. Lucas, 82, Bryan, died Thursday in his home.
He was born Aug. 9, 1919, in Newville, Ind., the son of George and Minnie (Gross) Lucas. In 1958, he married Jean Peters, who survives. He was a brick mason and a member of the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Union Local 1 for 55 years. He was also a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan VFW, and Bryan Eagles.
Surviving are four sons, James, Tom and Robert, all of Bryan, and Larry, Edgerton; a daughter, Candace Pelland, Ney; two stepsons, Gary and Jack Carver, both of Alaska; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Jerry (Jill) Manon, Bryan; a brother, George Jr., Sandusky; a sister, Violet Burch, Bryan; and 25 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were three brothers and a sister.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the church with Father Charles Ritter officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Grove cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Preferred memorials are to the church or the Community Hospitals of Williams County hospice program.

Evelyn Vandemark
BRYAN - Evelyn R. Vandemark, 85, Bryan, died Friday evening in the Dilworth Center, Montpelier.
She was born Oct. 2, 1916, in Havana, Ill., the daughter of Earl and Velma (Blizzard) Steele. In 1939, she married George Vandemark, who predeceased her. She was a cost clerk at Aro Corp., Bryan, retiring in 1978 after 2712 years of service. She was a member of First Church of Christ, where she served several years as a deaconess and a board member, a member and past officer of Order of Eastern Star 248, and a member of the Bryan Area Business Women's Club.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Snavely officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Grove cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Preferred memorials are to the church or the Dilworth Center.

Jason Myers
CECIL - Jason W. Myers, 17, Cecil, died at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, following a Wednesday evening car accident.
He was born July 22, 1984, in Defiance, the son of John and Rhonda (Elliot) Myers. He was a senior at Antwerp High school, where he played baseball. He worked at IGA, Antwerp. He was a member of Free Christian Church, Continental.
Surviving are his father and stepmother John and Becky Myers of Cecil, and mother, Rhonda Myers, Defiance; two sisters, Stacy Myers and Madeline Peck, both of Defiance; and two grandparents, Donald Elliot of Evansport, and Janet Elliot, Defiance.
Preceding him in death were two grandparents, Cyril and Mary Myers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Antwerp United Methodist Church with Revs. Jim Fry and Paul Myers officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood cemetery, Defiance. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. today in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, Defiance, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Preferred memorials are to the Antwerp Baseball Assoc.

Margaret Askins
FORT JENNINGS - Margaret E. Askins, 78, Fort Jennings, died at 1:55 p.m. Friday in Roselawn Manor, Spencerville.
She was born July 12, 1923, in Allen County, the daughter of Albert and Genevieve (Mescher) Fisher. In 1940, she married Wendell Askins, who died in 1992. She was a homemaker, sold Avon products for 30 years and worked as a cook at Knotty Pine restaurant. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, a life member of VFW Auxiliary Post 3035, a charter member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 715, and a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
Surviving are six sons, Wendell of Lima, David of Defiance, Ronald, William and Steven, all of Fort Jennings, and Frederick, Twinsburg; three daughters, Mrs. Michael (Theresa) Vitantonio of Ocoee, Fla., Mrs. Richard (Mary) Alger of Elida, and Mrs. Arnold (Rebecca) Osting, Fort Jennings; a brother, Paul Fisher, Fort Jennings; and 23 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Joseph; a daughter, Margaret; and a grandson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the church, with Father Tony Borgia officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery. Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. today and 2-9 p.m. Monday in Harter & Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos, where there will be a Catholic Ladies of Columbia service at 2:30 p.m. Monday, a wake service at 7 p.m., and a VFW Auxiliary service at 8 p.m.
Preferred memorials are to Putnam County Dialysis and Putnam County Visiting Nurses.

Florence Smith
GRAND RAPIDS - Florence Evelyn Smith, 92, Grand Rapids, died Friday morning in Country View Haven Nursing Home, Napoleon.
She was born Oct. 12, 1909, in Tontogany, the daughter of Howard and Bessie (McFeeters) Digby. In 1934, she married Robert Smith, who died in 1985. She was a licensed practical nurse and retired from Grand Rapids Nursing Home where she was a private-duty nurse. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Mahlman, Napoleon; a sister, Maudie Funk, Grand Rapids; and six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Fred and Harold Digby; two sisters, Grace Keifer and Hazel Schroeder; and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor David Clappenbach officiating. Burial will be in Washington Township cemetery, Tontogany. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. today.
Preferred memorials are to Country View Haven.

Merle Waldron Sr.
HICKSVILLE - Merle E. Waldron Sr., 74, Hicksville, died at 6:15 a.m. Friday in his home.
He was born Aug. 21, 1927, in Scott, the son of John and Goldie (Place) Waldron. In 1950, he married Mary Stuttler, who survives. He was a farmer, truck driver and a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Apostolic Church, American Legion Post 223, and a life member of Hicksville VFW and AMVETS.
Also surviving are six daughters, Sandra Dove, Barbara McCoy, and Mrs. James (Debra) Mellon, all of Hicksville, Pamela Fraley of Butler, Ind., Mrs. Todd (Roxanna) Snyder of Mark Center, and Mrs. Doug (Patricia) Wyse, Archbold; two sons, Michael and Merle Jr., both of Hicksville; a brother, Alvin, Van Wert; two sisters, Bertha Bacher of Van Wert, and Velma Hancher, Peoria, Ill.; and 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; five brothers, his twin, Earl, Harold, Gerald, Arthur and Forrest; and a sister, Bessie Laukhuf.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Knapp officiating. Burial will be in Bethel cemetery, Paulding County, with graveside military services accorded by Hicksville VFW and American Legion Post 223. Visitation is after 2 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of services Monday.
Preferred memorials are to the family.

Everett Crawford Jr.
NAPOLEON - Everett Crawford Jr., 35, Napoleon, died Friday afternoon at Henry County Hospital. Arrangements are pending at Walker Mortuary.

Ruth Guilliam
Services for Ruth M. Guilliam were held Saturday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Luhring officiating. Music was provided by Jan Kaiser and Michael Kemper. Burial was in Riverside cemetery. Pallbearers were David, Dan, Robert and Eugene Guilliam, Larry Procunier, and Brian Reglogle.

Richard Steffel
Services for Richard E. Steffel were held Friday in St. John's Catholic Church with Rev. George Wenzinger officiating. Music was provided by Dave Moninger. Burial was in Riverside cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul and Jim Wagner, George Masterson, Bob Kehnast, Tom Boyer, Matt Mayer, Bill Leach, and Russ Steffel. Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Anna Wyse
ARCHBOLD - Anna M. Wyse, 97, Archbold, died Saturday afternoon in Fairlawn Haven, Archbold.
She was born July 28, 1904, near Stryker, the daughter of Jonas and Mary Ann (Beck) Short. In 1925, she married Jesse Wyse, who died in 1985. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Mennonite Church, Archbold.
Surviving are four sons, Ivan (Sparks), Dale and John, all of Archbold, and Lester, Brattleboro, Vt.; two daughters, Janice of Glendale, Ariz., and Mrs. Sanford (Judy) Wyse, Archbold; and 25 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Also preceding her in death were five brothers, Dan, Sylvanus (Sox), Monroe (Briggle), Freeman and Virgil Short; two sisters, Mabel (Myrt) Wyse and Zelma Short, in infancy; and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fairlawn Chapel with Pastors Michael Mercer, Cliff Brubaker and Dale Wyse officiating. Burial will be in Pettisville cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. today and after 12 p.m. Tuesday in Fairlawn Chapel. Handling arrangements is Short Funeral Home, Archbold.

Ivan Weber
ARCHBOLD - Ivan J. Weber, 88, Archbold, died Sunday in Ormond Beach Hospital, Ormond Beach, Fla. Arrangements are pending at Short Funeral Home, Archbold.

Max Aragon
BRYAN - Max J. Aragon, 88, Bryan, died Sunday evening in Defiance Hospital. Arrangements are pending at Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home.

Berniece Guingrich
FORT WAYNE - Berniece Alice Guingrich, 86, Fort Wayne, died Sunday at Life Care Center, Fort Wayne. Surviving is her husband, Robert. Arrangements are pending at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding.

Everett Crawford Jr.
NAPOLEON - Everett P. Crawford Jr., 35, Napoleon, died Friday afternoon at Henry County Hospital, Napoleon.
He was born Feb. 6, 1967, in Napoleon, the son of Everett Sr. and Lucille (McComis) Crawford. In 1989, he married Sue Wisda, who survives. He was the safety director and Workmen's Compensation coordinator for Archbold Container Corp. and a member of First Baptist Church in Napoleon and Black Swamp Safety Council. He was the former coach of Marlins girl's softball team and attended Northwest State Community College and Texas Columbia College.
Also surviving are two daughters, Amanda of Napoleon and Mrs. Steven (Wendy) Ponce, Ridgeville Corners; a sister, Mrs. David (Jackie) Fields, Napoleon; and three grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the church with Rev. Tom Walters officiating. Burial will be in Beachcreek cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday and two hours prior to services Wednesday in the church. Handling arrangements is Walker Mortuary, Napoleon.
Preferred memorials are to Crawford family education fund.
