Joseph Memmer
Joseph B. Memmer, 63, Defiance, died at 12:50 a.m. Monday in Defiance Hospital.
He was born Dec. 24, 1938, in Defiance, the son of Herman and Lydia (Bernhart) Memmer. He worked at Quadco Rehabilitation Center, Stryker, for 25 years and attended Good Samaritan School's senior program.
Surviving are a brother, William, New Haven, Ind.; and three sisters, Mrs. Richard (Evelyn) Thompson of Paulding, Mrs. Roger (Luella) Joost of Defiance and Mrs. Lee (Naoma) Keller, Sevierville, Tenn.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Robert and Charles; and two sisters, Helen Dangler and Doris Duerk Craven.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Luhring officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
Preferred memorials are to Good Samaritan School or Quadco Rehabilitation Center.
Albert Froelich
Albert J. Froelich, 72, Defiance, died at 10:10 a.m. Monday in St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born June 30, 1929, in Defiance, the son of Walter Sr. and Daisy (Spencer) Froelich. In 1954, he married
Janet Donley, who survives. He was a machinist at Defiance Precision Products and a member of First Church of Christ, Sons of AMVETS Post 1991, Moose Lodge 2094 and Eagles Aerie 372.
Also surviving are two sons, Johnny and Alex, both of Defiance; a daughter, Mrs. Todd (Judy) Gross, Defiance; a brother, Walter Jr., Defiance; two sisters, Mary Lloyd of Defiance and Deloris Hofacker, Florida; and a granddaughter and a stepgranddaughter.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Alvin Froelich; three brothers, Alfred, Edward Sr. and Frank; and a sister, Irene Relue.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Davis officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor's choice.
Margaret Maynard
Margaret E. (Hasch) Maynard, 93, Defiance, died Monday afternoon at Laurels of Defiance. Among survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Jonas (Margaret) Mack of Defiance and Mrs. Michael (Madeline) Kennedy, Kalamazoo, Mich. Arrangements are pending at Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home.
Carl Kryling
NAPOLEON - Carl L. Kryling, 83, Napoleon, died Monday evening in Lutheran Home, Napoleon. Arrangements are pending at Walker Mortuary, Napoleon.
Zella Rhamy
NAPOLEON - Zella Rhamy, 89, Napoleon, died at 1 a.m. today in Northcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Napoleon. Arrangements are pending at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon.
Pauline Custar
MONTPELIER - Pauline M. Custar, 80, Montpelier, died Sunday in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
She was born Dec. 19, 1921, in Defiance County, the daughter of Henry and Gertrude (Leithauser) Mekus. In 1940, she married
Ford Custar, who died in 1985. She worked in quality control at Spangler's Candy Co., Bryan, and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montpelier, its Altar Society, Montpelier Moose Lodge 312 Auxiliary and American Bowling Congress.
Surviving are a son, Robert, Montpelier; two daughters, Mrs. John (Pamela) Eminger of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., and Mrs. Kelvin (Penny) Buchanan, Sarasota, Fla.; three sisters, Sally Flaherty of San Diego, Germaine Moser of Defiance and Mrs. John (Dolores) Batt, Hamilton, Ind.; two brothers, Albert and Richard Mekus, both of Defiance; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were four brothers and a sister.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the church with Father Fred Duschl officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Montpelier. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier.
Preferred memorials are to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church or St. Joseph's Church and school, Blakeslee.
Leona Okuley
SYLVANIA - Leona Okuley, 97, Sylvania, died Sunday in Franciscan Care Center, Sylvania.
She was born Oct. 18, 1904, near North Creek, the daughter of Jacob and Mary (Russett) Hoffman. In 1924, she married
Vearl Okuley, who died in 1984.
Surviving are a sister, Alma Minch, Continental; and 10 grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Donald; a sister, Anna Collet; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Sylvania. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery, Toledo. Visitation is from 3-9 p.m. Tuesday in Reed Funeral Home, Sylvania, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Steven Carpenter
Services for Steven Carpenter were held Monday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Max Begley officiating. Interment was in Riverview Memory Gardens mausoleum. Pallbearers were Roy Perez, Larry and Rex Cameron, Neal Carpenter, William Ruder and Sam Beseiso.
Janet Deitrick
Services for Janet Deitrick were held Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Tim Kummerer officiating. Music was provided by Jim Dunham and Nelda Bowrazza. Burial was in Riverview Memory Gardens. Pallbearers were Gary and Bruce Deitrick, Scott and Shawn Johnston, Todd Behnfeldt and John Disheaux. Mast-Mock-Hoffman handled arrangements.

Pearl Miller
ALVORDTON - Pearl Irene Hollstein Miller, 76, Alvordton, died Saturday morning in her home.
She was born Nov. 23, 1925, in Metamora, the daughter of Hal and Hazel (Eberly) Hamilton. She married
Lawrence Hollstein, who died in 1978. She married
Blair Miller, who died in 1998. She worked at Fayette Tubular for 21 years, was a member of Alvordton United Methodist Church and attended West Unity Senior Center.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Hollstein Sr. of Alvordton and Michael Hollstein Sr., Pioneer; two stepsons, Rodney of West Unity and David, Waldron, Mich.; and 18 grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Brenda Schelling; a son, William Sr.; two brothers, Wesley and Franklin Hamilton; and a sister, Emily Williams.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hollingshead Funeral Home, West Unity, with Rev. Lee Ortman officiating. A private burial will be at Floral Grove cemetery, Pioneer. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Preferred memorials are to Williams County Department of Aging.
Robert Staup
BRYAN - Robert L. Staup, 78, Bryan, died Saturday in his home.
He was born March 16, 1923, in Charlotte, Mich., the son of LeRoy and Elizabeth (Freemire) Staup. He was a retired truck driver, a member of Bryan VFW Post 2489 and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are two daughters, Robin of Bryan and Linda Mauck, Milford, Mich.; three sons, Robert of Royal Oak, Mich., Chris of Bryan and Randolph, Jacksonville, N.C.; and nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Paul.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Handling arrangements is Snyder Funeral Home, Holgate.
Preferred memorials are to Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties.
Dorothy Palmer
BRYAN - Dorothy I. Palmer, 87, Bryan, died Sunday in her home.
She was born June 14, 1914, in Fulton County, the daughter of James and Martha (Wenzel) Call. Prior to her retirement, she worked at Campbell Soup Co. in Napoleon and Allied Moulding, Bryan.
Surviving are a son, Richard West, Delaware; six daughters, Adlene Shull of Bryan, Betty Johnson, Shirley Heffley and Willobell Turbine, all of Winter Garden, Fla., Nancy McClain of Pinehurst, N.C., and Barbara Addington, Stryker; two sisters, Coral Stevens of Winter Garden and Nedra Jean Rettig, Leetonia; and 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were three brothers, Jay, Leon and Blaine Call; a sister, Lucille Max; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon, with Jon Rettig officiating. Burial will be in Tedrow cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Nora Ramey
NEW WASHINGTON - Nora Ellen Ramey, 87, New Washington, died Saturday in Heartland Nursing Home, Bucyrus, following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 23, 1914, in Paintsville, Ky., the daughter of Sherman and Merva (Lemaster) Blanton. In 1932, she married
Fred Ramey, who survives. She was a member of Little Bethlehem United Baptist Church, Bellevue, and a former member of New Washington Garden Club.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Della) Hahn of Defiance, Ollia Snipes of New Washington and Mrs. Keith (Betty) Laughbaum, Xenia; a son, Ralph, New Washington; and nine grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a brother, William Blanton; a sister, Lora Lou Hackworth; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Secor Funeral Home, New Washington, with Rev. Joe Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery, New Haven. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday.
