Lester Frey
ARCHBOLD - Lester J. Frey, 73, Archbold, died Sunday evening in Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon.
He was born June 30, 1928, near Wauseon, the son of E.B. and Fannie (Rupp) Frey. He was a salesman for numerous companies, including the former Heller-Aller Co., and a truck driver and furniture installer for Sauder Manufacturing Co., Archbold, until retirement. He was a member of West Clinton Mennonite Church, near Pettisville.
Surviving are two sons, Phil of Cartersville, Ga., and Ed, Bryan; four daughters, Mrs. Doug (Lori) Miller and Mrs. Tom (Mildred "Mig") Riegsecker, both of Delta, Beverly Miller of Lenexa, Kan., and Cindy, Bowling Green, Mo.; two brothers, Warren of Wauseon and Willard, Archbold; five sisters, Myrtie Baer and Mrs. Earl (Helen) Rychener, both of Archbold, Mrs. Earl (Alice) Yutzy of Plain City, Rhoda King of Pettisville and Mrs. Charles (Ruth) Shenk, Columbus; and 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Fairlawn Chapel, Archbold, with Pastor Charles Gautsche officiating. Burial will be in Pettisville cemetery. Visitation is from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday in Fairlawn Chapel. Handling arrangements is Short Funeral Home, Archbold.
Preferred memorials are to the family or a charity of the donor's choice.
Elda Thieroff
HOLGATE - Elda Mathilda Thieroff, 95, Holgate, died Sunday morning in Otterbein Nursing Home, Leipsic.
She was born May 20, 1906, in Hamler, the daughter of Christian and Sophia (Bostelman) Tadsen. In 1927, she married
Richard Thieroff, who died in 1993. She farmed with her husband and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Holgate and its Ladies' Aid.
Surviving are two sons, Marvin of Defiance and Tim, Laveen, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. John (Alice) Schwiebert, Hamler; and 11 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, a great-stepgrandchild and a great-great-grandchild.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Robert; a brother, Lawrence Tadsen; and two sisters, Pauline Huener and Martha Junge.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church with Rev. Theodore Rellstab officiating. Burial will be in St. Stephen's cemetery, Defiance. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday in Snyder Funeral Home, Holgate, and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to Otterbein Nursing Home, Hospice of Putnam County or a charity of the donor's choice.

NAPOLEON - James Gilliland, 75, Napoleon, died Monday afternoon in Henry County Hospital, Napoleon. Arrangements are pending at Walker Mortuary, Napoleon.

NAPOLEON - James C. Speiser, 82, Napoleon, died Monday evening in his home. Arrangements are pending at Walker Mortuary, Napoleon.
Eileen Cubberly
Services for Eileen M. Cubberly were held Monday in Trinity United Methodist Church with Dr. Roger Braun officiating. Burial was in Riverside cemetery. Music was provided by Anglia Tonjes and Rick and Jill Krutsch. Pallbearers were John Jr. and Kevin Cubberly, Chuck, James and Monte Snell, Chris and Adam Camp and Jeff Yeager. Honorary pallbearers were Ryan and Stephanie Boman. Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Edward Buchholz
Services for Edward J. Buchholz were held Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Tim Kummerer officiating. Burial was in Rochester cemetery, Cecil. Music was provided by Jim Dunham and Paula DeCola. Pallbearers were John Baldwin, Jim Mansfield, Jerry Mekus, Tim Schafer, Patrick Wolfrum and Tom Phlipot. Honorary pallbearers were members of Crane Township Fire Department. Area fire departments provided an honor guard. Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Earl Posey Sr.
Services for Earl B. Posey Sr. were held Monday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Dr. Roger Braun officiating. Burial was in Evansport cemetery with military rites accorded by VFW Post 3360. Pallbearers were Pete Rodriguez, Bill Cowle, Richard Miller, Clarence Meyer, Warren Spencer and Neal Schriner.
Raymond Meyer
SHERWOOD - Raymond J. Meyer, 63, Sherwood, died Wednesday morning in his home.
He was born May 20, 1938, in Sherwood, the son of John and Anna (Klima) Meyer. In 1963, he married
Sherrell Volkert, who survives. He worked at Duerk Construction, Defiance, and was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Delaware Bend, where he served as president of the Holy Name Society. He was a member of Ohio Carpenter's Union and a volunteer firefighter for Sherwood-Delaware Township Fire Department.
Also surviving are a son, John, Huber Heights; a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Tracey) Backhaus, Defiance; five sisters, Leona Baker, Helen Simonis and Grace Wilhelm, all of Defiance, Mary Deisler of Bryan and Elizabeth Ankney, Paulding; and five grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Bernard and Charles; and a sister, Ruth Miller.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the church with Father William Martin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Friday in Rice Funeral Home, Sherwood.
Preferred memorials are to Hospice the Caring Way of Defiance.
Jane Oberhaus
WATERVILLE - Jane A. Oberhaus, 67, Waterville, died Tuesday morning at Browning Masonic Home.
She was born June 21, 1934, in Wauseon, the daughter of Julius and Helen (Stiriz) Yackee. In 1960, she married
Walter Oberhaus, who died in 1986. She was a homemaker and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township.
Surviving are a son, Ron, Swanton; three brothers, Thomas and Jarol Yackee, both of Wauseon, and William Yackee, Swanton; a sister, Carol Roth, Worthington; and two grandsons.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with Pastor David Gensch officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services Friday in the church. Handling arrangements is Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon.
Preferred memorials are to Heartland of Browning, Filling Memorial Home of Mercy, Lutheran Home or the church memorial fund.
Albert Froelich
Services for Albert J. Froelich will be at 1 p.m. today in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Davis officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens. Among survivors are a son, Johnny "Jocko, " Defiance.
Margaret Maynard
Margaret E. Hasch Maynard, 93, Defiance, died at 1:12 p.m. Monday in Laurels of Defiance.
She was born Oct. 17, 1908, in Paulding County, the daughter of Samuel and Fannie (Loar) Calvin. In 1929, she married
Paul Hasch, who died in 1949. In 1952, she married
G. Clyde Maynard, who died in 1973. She worked in sales at local dress shops and managed the former Lord's dress shop in Bryan. She attended from Fort Wayne International Business College and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jonas (Margaret) Mack of Defiance and Mrs. Michael (Madeline) Kennedy, Kalamazoo, Mich.; a brother, Riley Calvin, Woodburn, Ind.; a sister, Ethel Reasoner, Fort Wayne; and seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Robert Hasch; a daughter, Patricia McFeeters; a brother, Clifford Calvin; and three sisters, Manila Sorgen, Belle Hart and Edyth Dibert.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church with Rev. Donald Luhring officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood cemetery. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Friday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday in the church.
Preferred memorials are to American Cancer Society.
Marcella Leininger
BRYAN - Marcella (Marcie) Leininger, 88, Bryan, died Monday morning in her residence.
She was born Sept. 6, 1913, in Defiance, the daughter of Wilbur and Etta Mae (Smith) Beattie. In 1934, she married
Raymond Leininger, who died in 1996. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are two nieces, including Sally Grisier, Bryan.
Also preceding her in death was a sister, Wandus Collins.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Rice Funeral Home, Bryan. Burial will be in Ney cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services Thursday.
Preferred memorials are to Community Hospital of Williams County Hospice.
Carl Kryling
NAPOLEON - Carl L. Kryling, 83, Napoleon, died Monday evening at Napoleon's Lutheran Home.
He was born Aug. 29, 1918, in Napoleon, the son of Charles and Anna (Glanz) Kryling. In 1941, he married
Martha Brandt, who survives. He was a painter and interior decorator for Kryling Decorating Service, Napoleon, for 50 years, retiring in 1992, and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Sons of American Legion Post 300.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Mary Ann) Burdue and Marilyn Sickmiller-Kennedy, both of Napoleon, and Mrs. Paul (Phyllis) Scare, Greenville, Ind.; and seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a brother, Roger; a sister, Rosina Decker; and a grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church with Revs. Norm Koy and Peter Marcis officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood cemetery, Napoleon. Visitation is from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today in Walker Mortuary, Napoleon.
Preferred memorials are to the church, American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
Zella Rhamy
NAPOLEON - Zella Rhamy, 89, Napoleon, died at 1 a.m. Tuesday in Northcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born April 4, 1912, in Tazewell, Tenn., the daughter of Henly and Clara (Welch) Ellison. In 1926, she married
Roy Rhamy, who died in 1983. She was a telephone operator for Malinta Telephone Co. and a member of Napoleon Wesleyan Church, where she taught Sunday school and served as a member of the church board. She was a former member of Malinta Evangelical United Brethren Church and its Ladies' Guild and a foster parent for 15 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Alice) Weber, Napoleon; three sons, Fred of Gibbon, Neb., Ted of Asheboro, N.C., and Ned, Napoleon; a brother, Sheridan Ellison, Bakersfield, Mo.; and three sisters, Mrs. Richard (Dellie) Rothgeb of Owasso, Okla., Ermal Dean of Belvedere, Ill., and Manie Kesner, Caulifield, Mo.; a half brother, Edward Ellison, Cherry Valley, Ill.; two stepbrothers, Arthur Perry of Kalamazoo, Mich., and John Perry, Pottersville, Mo.; two stepsisters, Mrs. Don (Juanita) Eslinger of Gainsville, Mo., and Anna Lee Ellison, Bakersfield; and 19 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, 12 great-stepgrandchildren and 10 great-great-stepgrandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two daughters, Helen Rhamy and Ella Thompson; a brother, Sherman Ellison; a stepbrother, Preston Perry; and a great-grandson and a great-great-stepgrandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, with Pastor James Morehart officiating. Burial will be in Grelton cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. Friday.
Preferred memorials are to the church.
Evelyn Clark
WEST UNITY - Evelyn Alvina Clark, 87, West Unity, died Monday in Anna's House, Hillside Country Living.
She was born Feb. 14, 1914, in Williams County's Jefferson Township, the daughter of H. Jay and Rose (Lafferty) Wineland. In 1940, she married
Orville Clark, who died in 1974. She attended Tri-State Business College in Toledo and was a stenographer, bookkeeper and payroll clerk at Williams County Office of State Relief Commission of Ohio and City Loan Co., Bryan. She was also a clerk at Hawk's Clothing Store, a member of West Unity Methodist Church and active in United Methodist Women and Williams County Mothers of Twins Club.
Surviving are three sons, Jack of Germantown, Md., Ronald of Bryan, and Duane, Holland; a daughter, Mrs. Duane (Diane) Stroman, Huntingdon, Pa.; a special friend, Harold Raymond, Dearborn, Mich.; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Eva Alfrey and Velma Smith; a brother, Hugh Wineland; a son, James; and a grandson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hollingshead Funeral Home, West Unity, with Rev. Ruth Scoby officiating. Burial will be in Shiffler cemetery, Bryan. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Friday.
