NAPOLEON - Audrey K. Niebel, 92, Napoleon, died this morning in Henry County Hospital, Napoleon. Arrangements are pending at Walker Mortuary, Napoleon.

Carol Giesige
NEW BAVARIA - Carol Ann Giesige, 50, New Bavaria, died at 2:50 a.m. Wednesday in Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa.
She was born Oct. 10, 1951, in Napoleon, the daughter of Clifford and Mary (Steffen) Giesige. She wasa graduate of Miss Ruby's Beauty School in Toledo, a beautician and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Bavaria and its Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
Surviving are her mother, New Bavaria; a son, Shannon Fillinger, Miller City; three brothers, James Giesige of Columbus Grove, Dennis Giesige of Ayersville and John Giesige, Meadville, Pa.; and a grandchild.
Preceding her in death was her father.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Holgate, with Father Stephen Stanbery officiating. There will be no visitation. Handling arrangements is Love Funeral Home, Ottawa.
Preferred memorials are to St. Rita's Hospice or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Leo Vance
Services for Leo H. Vance were held Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father David Tscherne officiating. Organist was Dave Moninger. Burial was in Riverside cemetery with military rites conducted by VFW Post 3360. Pallbearers were Karl Hiler, Joe Lloyd, Chad Powell, Neil Limbaugh, Virgil Willitzer and Richard Rozevink. Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Harold Diller
Services for Harold L. Diller were held Wednesday at Riverview Memory Gardens mausoleum with Rev. Alfred Schroeder officiating. Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Esther Batt
Esther B. Batt, 85, rural Defiance, died at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday in Harborside Healthcare.
She was born April 29, 1916, in Defiance County's Adams Township, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Siler) Sheets. In 1941, she married Carl Batt, who died in 1991. She sold Amway and Bee Line Clothing Products and was a member of Marysdale Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, its Altar Society, Patna Mission and Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of Defiance Area Diabetic Club, Kidney Foundation and VFW Post 3360 Auxiliary and a blood donor.
Surviving are three sons, Stanley, David and Richard, all of Defiance; four sisters, Theresa Hoffman of Helene and Irene Zipfel, Hildonna Hesselschwardt and Coletta Sheets, all of Defiance; two brothers, Martin and Paul Sheets, both of Defiance; and three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were three sisters, Rosie Gladieux, Agnes VanDoren and Mary Kuhn; and two brothers, Wesley and Joseph Sheets.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the church with Rev. William Martin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-9 p.m. Friday in Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home, with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Preferred memorials are to masses or Defiance Area Diabetic Club.

Nancy Schultz
Nancy M. Schultz, 64, Defiance, died at 5:18 p.m. Sunday in Toledo Hospital.
She was born April 8, 1937, in Paulding County, the daughter of Lloyd and Mabel (Hahn) Fuller. In 1957, she married Bernard (Barney) Schultz, who died in 1986. She was a beautician at Fash-N-Aire Styling Salon, retiring in 2000, and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Defiance Hospital Auxiliary and Eagles Aerie 372 Auxiliary.
Surviving are two sons, Robert of Defiance and Ronald, Hillsboro Clinton Township, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Sanchez, Defiance; a brother, Robert Fuller, Defiance; two sisters, Janet Brock of Pineville, Ky., and Ruth Ann Dockery, Continental; and eight grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were her parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church with Father David Tscherne officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. today in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor's choice.

Eveland Linthicum
LIBERTY CENTER - Eveland Inez Linthicum, 101, Liberty Center, died Tuesday morning in Country View Haven, Napoleon.
She was born Oct. 18, 1900, in Liberty Center, the daughter of John and Vessie (Tester) Tanier. In 1920, she married Albert Linthicum, who died in 1975. She was a member of Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church, Liberty Center.
Surviving are seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two sons, Marvin and Marion; a daughter, Barbara Kessler; and two sisters, Irene Lang and Lovell Ellsworth.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with Pastor Jim Condrey officiating. Burial will be in Young's cemetery, Liberty Center. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Thursday at Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center.
Preferred memorials are to the church.

Arthur Boulton
NAPOLEON - Arthur R. Boulton, 81, Napoleon, died this morning in Northcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Napoleon. Arrangements are pending in Walker Mortuary, Napoleon.

Chawn Wannemacher
NEW BAVARIA - Chawn Wannemacher, 16, New Bavaria, died this morning in Toledo Children's Hospital. Arrangements are pending at Snyder Funeral Home, Holgate.

Helen Johnson
OHIO CITY - Helen K. Johnson, 83, Ohio City, died at 9:35 a.m. Tuesday in Van Wert County Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born Aug. 14, 1917, in Van Wert County, the daughter of David and Mary (Lewis) Breese. In 1950, she married Boyd Johnson, who died in 1983. She was a graduate of Bluffton College, a teacher in York and Ohio City Liberty schools, retiring in 1986, and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Van Wert.
Surviving are two sons, Terry of Van Wert and Larry, Ohio City; three daughters, Barbara of Bryan, Mrs. Jeffery (Roberta) Seebohm of Cincinnati and Brenda, Hicksville; a brother, J. Latimer Breese, Venedocia; and six grandsons.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, with Rev. Edward Jillison officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Ohio City. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Thursday.
Preferred memorials are to Ohio City EMS.

Edith DeMuth
PAULDING - Edith Geraldine DeMuth, 85, Paulding, died at 5:25 p.m. Monday in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, following an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 15, 1917, in Paulding County, the daughter of Charles and Hazel (Patton) Smith. In 1937, she married Joseph DeMuth, who died in 1999. She was a bookkeeper for Hart's Auto Parts, Cecil, for 20 years, retiring in 1981, and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Paulding. She was a life member of John Paulding Historical Society, Cecil Grange, Paulding Hospital Benevolent Society and its Bargain Bin, Paulding Literary Society and Paulding Better Homes & Garden Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John (Diane) Allensworth of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Ray (Joan Terry) Pier, Antwerp; a son, Forrest "Butch" DeMuth, New Haven, Ind.; a sister, Dean Riggenbach, Paulding; and nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Glendine Jeffery and Averial Baughman; and a grandson and a great-grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church with Rev. David Meriwether officiating. Burial will be in Rochester cemetery at a later date. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Friday and 8-9 a.m. Saturday at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to John Paulding Historical Society.

Raymond Kinzer
AUBURN, Ind. - Mark Center native Raymond L. Kinzer, 64, Auburn, died Monday in his home.
He was born March 16, 1937, in Mark Center, the son of Lloyd and Lucile (Martin) Kinzer. In 1952, he married Anita Rentz, who survives. He was a machine operator at Dana Corp. for 33 years, retiring in 1993, and a member of Dana Retirees, Trinity Lutheran Church in Auburn and Northeast Beekeepers' Association, Fort Wayne.
Also surviving are four sons, Clifford and Michael, both of Auburn, Leonard of Garrett and Daniel, Dunedin, Fla.; two sisters, Margaret Huffman of Bryan and Linda Cottrell, Hicksville; two half sisters, Mary Godwin of Mendon and Betty Rickenberg, Defiance; a half brother, Keith, Napoleon; and eight grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Sue Ellen Mullet; a half brother, Kenneth; and a grandson.
Services will be at a later date. There is no visitation. Handling arrangements is McComb, Dilgard and Cline Funeral Home, Auburn.
Preferred memorials are to the church.

Mildred Lanz
DECATUR, Ind. - Mildred E. Lanz, 93, Decatur, died Monday at Woodcrest Health Care, Decatur.
She was born April 17, 1908, in Pittsburgh. She married Walter Lanz, who preceded her in death. She was a teacher, missionary, and member of Missionary Church in Fort Wayne and Berachah Church, Cheltenham, Pa.
Surviving are a daughter, Agnes Saddington, Fort Wayne; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes, Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
Preferred memorials are to Sunshine Network First Missionary Church.

Mary Markwood
QUINCY, Mich. - Former Deshler resident Mary L. Markwood, 77, Quincy, died Monday in Community Health Center, Coldwater.
She was born April 16, 1924, the daughter of John and Maude (Rickard) Hill. In 1943, she married Sam Markwood, who survives. She was a homemaker and member of Deshler First United Methodist Church.
Also surviving are a daughter, Marilyn Marchal, Lima; a son, Larry, Toledo; three sisters, Bernice Kinder of Deshler, Lois Baker of Leipsic and Evelyn (Jean) Tumblin, Grover Hill; two brothers, Norman Hill of Deshler and Clarence Hill, Lima; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a son, Robert; a sister, Helen Radabaugh; and a brother, John Hill.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, with Rev. R.I. Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Deshler. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. today.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor's choice.
