Etta Carder
DELPHOS - Etta Lorraine Carder, 87, Delphos, died at 2:05 p.m. Monday in her home.
She was born Aug. 30, 1914, in Delphos, the daughter of Clifford and Nora (Stopher) Prine. In 1934, she married
Harry Carder, who died in 1997. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos.
Surviving are a son, Ronald, Oakwood; two daughters, Mrs. Duane (Betty) Wolford of Van Wert and Mrs. Michael (Sharon) Lawrence, Delphos; two sisters, Mrs. Al (Margret) Honigford of Cloverdale and Mrs. Donald (Norma) Moore, Grover Hill; four brothers, Robert and William Prine, both of Delphos, Jack Prine of Oakwood and Larry Prine, Tulsa, Okla.; and eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a son, James; a daughter, Helen; three brothers, Melvin, Herschel and Richard Prine; a sister, Twila Ball; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with Father Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove cemetery, Delphos. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Thursday in Harter and Son Funeral Home, Delphos.
Preferred memorials are to St. John the Evangelist Catholic School Fund or Delphos Hospice.
Velma Grieser
FAYETTE - Velma V. Grieser, 89, Fayette, died Monday morning at Fulton County Heath Center, Wauseon.
She was born Oct. 30, 1912, near Wauseon, the daughter of Ira and Sarah (Beck) Schrock. In 1933, she married
Lawrence Grieser, who died in 1969. She was a homemaker and a member of Evangelical Mennonite Church, Wauseon.
Surviving are five sons, Sheldon of West Unity, Ronald of Fayette, and Carlos, Stanley and Stephen, all of Archbold; three daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Shirley) Bunke of Wauseon, Mrs. Lee (Kathleen) Higbea of Defiance and Audrey, Fayette; and 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were four daughters, Gayle, Charlene, Patricia and Sharon; four brothers, Verdan, Cleo, Edward and Ceaphus Schrock; a sister, Vera Rupp; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Short Funeral Home, Archbold, with Pastors Charles Gautsche and Dale Wyse officiating. Burial will be in Pettisville cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Thursday.
Preferred memorials are to Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties or Fulton County Senior Center.
Mary Jane Brown
HICKSVILLE - Mary Jane Brown, 86, Hicksville, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in Hickory Creek Nursing Home, Hicksville.
She was born April 25, 1915, in St. Joe, Ind., the daughter of Frank and Cora (Sechler) Currie. In 1934, she married
Roger Brown, who died in 1982. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deaconess and secretary. She was a member of Eastern Star in Spencerville, Ind., a former secretary-treasurer with Hicksville's Masonic Temple from 1957-83 and a former member of Hicksville's Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving are a son, Larry, Fort Wayne; and a sister, Katherine Jump, Haines City, Fla.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Charles, Herbert and Frank Currie; and three sisters, Lucille Frederick, Ruth Moore and Grace Cook.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville, with Rev. Clarence Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home cemetery, Hicksville. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. today.
Preferred memorials are to the church.
Dean Seevers
HICKSVILLE - Dean B. Seevers, 70, rural Hicksville, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in his home.
He was born April 20, 1931, in Defiance County's Milford Township, the son of George and Inez (Bash) Seevers, In 1950, he married
Norma Blinzler, who survives. He was a dairy farmer and a member of Ohio Farm Bureau.
Also surviving are two sons, Larry of Defiance and Terry, Montpelier; a daughter, Mrs. Doug (Kathie) Bush, Bryan; and two grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother and a sister.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery, Edgerton. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor's choice.
Betty Barkley
POWELL, Tenn. - Payne native Betty L. Barkley, 68, Powell, died Saturday in St. Mary's Medical Center, Knoxville, Tenn.
She was born April 9, 1933, in Payne, the daughter of Lewis and Berniece (Gebhart) Shaffer. She married
David Barkley, who survives. She worked at Valley Bank, Knoxville.
Also surviving are three sons, John Hessler of Payne, David of Kingston, Tenn., and Andrew, Powell; a daughter, Angela Velazquez, Knoxville; a sister, Nila Jean Utterback, Tipton, Ind.; and five grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Wiltsie cemetery, Payne, with Rev. John Utterback officiating. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Thursday in Slade Funeral Home, Payne.
C. Thomas Jackson
KENT - C. Thomas Jackson, 68, Kent, died Thursday in Kent.
He was born Nov. 24, 1933, in Dayton, the son of Carl and Jeanette (Whiteman) Jackson. He married
Suzanne Leiner, and they later divorced. He then married
Melanie Markel, who survives. He was a 1955 graduate of Heidelberg College and a 1961 graduate of Andover Newton Theological Seminary, Newton Centre, Mass. He served at churches in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, as well as Defiance, Christianburg, Cincinnati, Sidney, Kettering, Dayton and Kent in Ohio. He was an area conference minister in the United Church of Christ Central Association in Illinois, retiring in 1995. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry in Germany and was a U.S. Army Reserve chaplain in Vietnam and a chaplain for Kettering Fire Department and Kent Police Department.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gus (Laurie) Sierra, Fostoria; a son, William, Defiance; a stepson, Wade Markel, Alexandria, Va.; a stepdaughter, Debra Markel, Milan, Italy; and seven grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Kent United Church of Christ with Rev. Roger Knight officiating. Visitation is after 12:30 p.m. at the church.
Harold Schroeder
ARCHBOLD - Harold H. Schroeder, 81, Archbold, died Wednesday evening at Fairlawn Haven, Archbold, following an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 25, 1920, in Archbold, the son of Harmon and Edna Mae (Heater) Schroeder. In 1941, he married
Martha (Betty) Travis, who survives. He worked at Young Spring and Wire, Archbold, for more than 20 years before retiring. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II and a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Archbold, Archbold American Legion Post 311 and Napoleon VFW Post 8218.
Also surviving are a son, Steve, Archbold; two daughters, Mrs. Bob (Linda) Parnell of Archbold and Mrs. Roger (Dawn) Cramer, Napoleon; a brother, LeRoy, Oregon; two sisters, Betty Lehman of Sandusky and Velma Schang, Archbold; and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was a son, Terry.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the church with Rev. Thomas Lyberg officiating. Burial will be in Archbold cemetery. There is no visitation. Handling arrangements is Grisier Funeral Home, Archbold.
Preferred memorials are to Archbold Fire and EMS or a charity of the donor's choice.
William Draper
BRYAN - William John Draper, 73, Bryan, died Wednesday at Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo.
He was born Aug. 31, 1928, in Detroit, the son of Herbert and Roberta (Harrington) Draper. He married
Sharon Johnson, who survives. He was a retired market analyst for Aro/Ingersol-Rand and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Also surviving are two sons, Scot of Charlotte, N.C., and David, St. Louis, Mo.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Donald and Herbert; and a sister, Thelma Edler.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Saturday in the family home at 405 John St., Bryan. Handling arrangements is Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home, Bryan.
Preferred memorials are to American Heart Association or Community Hospitals of Williams County's coronary care unit.

CRIDERSVILLE - Former Continental resident Doris Reynolds, 90, Cridersville, died at 11:57 a.m. Wednesday in Otterbein of Cridersville. Arrangements are pending at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental.
Doyle Bennett
DESHLER - Doyle V. Bennett, 77, died at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday in Autumn Court Nursing Home, Ottawa.
He was born Feb. 15, 1925, in Custar, the son of Alvin and Mary (Winkleman) Bennett. In 1945, he married
Florence Rader, who survives. He was a farmer and a trackman for Nickel Plate Railroad/Norfolk-Western Railroad, retiring in 1990. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Oakdale United Methodist Church, Flying Quail Antique Car Club in Fostoria and Maintenance of Way Railroad Union.
Also surviving are a son, Billy, McComb; four daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Connie) Long of Stafford, Va., Mrs. Don (Bonnie) Rosebrook and Mrs. Eric (Kay) Conrad, both of Deshler, and Mrs. Don (Kathy) Inman, Findlay; two sisters, Ida Stewart of Deshler and Mary Leip, Bowling Green; a brother, Lloyd, Defiance; and 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were two sisters, Sylvia Hagemeyer and Daisy Metzger Dimick; four brothers, Alvin, Dale, James and Clarence; and a grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, with Pastor Kathleen Richards officiating. Burial will be in West Belmore cemetery with military rites accorded by Deshler American Legion Post 316. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday.

Chawn Wannemacher
HOLGATE - Chawn P. Wannemacher, 16, Holgate, died Wednesday morning in Toledo Children's Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Feb. 14 on Ohio 108 in Henry County.
He was born Sept. 24, 1985, in Defiance, the son of Charles and Peg (Vold) Wannemacher. He was a sophomore at Holgate High School and a member was on the football and golf teams. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Holgate and Boy Scouts and a counselor at Camp Lakota.
Surviving are his parents, Holgate; two brothers, Andrew and Benjamin, both of Holgate; and grandparents, Mary Wannemacher of Defiance and Mary Vold, Bryan.
Preceding him in death were grandparents, Richard Wannemacher and Harold Vold.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the church with Father Stephen Stanbery officiating. Visitation is from 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. Friday and 1-1:30 p.m. Saturday in Snyder Funeral Home, Holgate.
Preferred memorials are to Toledo Children's Hospital PICU or Ronald McDonald House.
Arthur Boulton
NAPOLEON - Arthur R. Boulton, 81, Napoleon, died Wednesday morning at Northcrest Nursing Home, Napoleon.
He was born Jan. 4, 1921, in Malinta, the son of Lester and Dorothy (Wells) Boulton. In 1947, he married
Ruby Rothenberger, who died in 1992. In 1982, he retired from Saneholtz Supply, Napoleon, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Napoleon and American Legion Post 300, a life member of National Rifle Association and an auxiliary member of Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Surviving are two sons, Lester of Napoleon and Leslie, Ridgeville Corners; two daughters, Mrs. Rick (Nancy) Hoover of Bryan and Janet Buchholz, Lexington, Ky.; a brother, Lawrence, Napoleon; a sister, Marcielle Mitchell, Kendallville, Ind.; and 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were two daughters, Alleynne Lotz and Lynda Lirot.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the church with Revs. Norm Koy and Peter Marcis officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance, with military rites conducted by joint veterans posts of Napoleon. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, with an American Legion service at 8:30 p.m.
