Naomi Hancock
BRYAN - Naomi E. Hancock, 84, Bryan, died Sunday morning in Harborside Healthcare, Bryan.
She was born March 7, 1917, in Kalida, the daughter of John and Olive (Fisher) Michael. She married
Manford Hancock, who died in 1966.
Surviving are two sons, Edward of Wapakoneta and Howard, Ney; two sisters, Martha Warner of Bryan and Alberta English, Farmer; and six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
Also preceding her in death was a sister, Mame Shire.
Services will be private. There is no visitation. Handling arrangements is Snyder Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon.
Evelyn Lenhart
Services for Evelyn G. Lenhart were held Tuesday in St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father David Tscherne officiating. Organist was Jim Dunham. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Tony, Jeff, Steve and Mike Lenhart, John Williamson and Craig Hamet. Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Lowell Rupp
ARCHBOLD - Former Fulton County commissioner Lowell F. Rupp, 73, Archbold, died Monday morning in his home.
He was born April 6, 1928, near Archbold, the son of Nelson and Edna (Keim) Rupp. In 1949, he married
Ardith Schaffner, who survives. He was a farmer, a Dekalb and Callahan Seed dealer, Archbold's 1994 Citizen of the Year and a member of Evangelical Mennonite Church in Archbold, Gideons International, Republican National Committee, the former Archbold Commercial Club and Archbold Rotary. He was a German Township trustee for 12 years, Fulton County commissioner for 16 years and sat on the board of directors for Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities, Maumee Valley Guidance Center, Corrections Commission of Northwest Ohio Detention Center and Four County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ric (Beverly) Nelson and Mrs. Mark (Pamela) Wanemacher, both of Archbold; three sons, Bruce and Larry, both of Archbold, and Leslie, Cincinnati; a sister, Mrs. Herb (Betty) Oyer, Archbold; a brother, Gene, Upland, Ind.; and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church with Pastors Thomas Louis, Mathew Boyers and Charles Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in Archbold cemetery. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. today and 1-5 p.m. Wednesday in the church. Handling arrangements is Grisier Funeral Home, Archbold.
Preferred memorials are to the church, Gideons International or Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties.
Edith Rahmel
BOWLING GREEN - Former Ayersville resident Edith L. Rahmel, 80, Bowling Green, died at 5 a.m. Monday in her home.
She was born Oct. 17, 1921, in Defiance County, the daughter of Harvey and Ethel (Kellermyer) Baringer. In 1944, she married
Gerald Rahmel, who survives. She was the former deputy auditor for Defiance County and a member of Ayersville United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, past president of American Legion Auxiliary and a former member of Defiance Business and Professional Women.
Also surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Michael (Gay) Homsher of Mount Blanchard, Mrs. Michael (Joy) Stiger of Fremont, Mrs. Richard (Gera) Bixel of Bluffton and Mrs. George (Lora) Jorrey and Amy Jo, both of Bowling Green; and nine grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was a sister, Anna Frederick.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church with Rev. Jerry Cole officiating. Burial will be in Ayersville cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, Defiance, and one hour prior to services Thursday in the church.
Preferred memorials are to Bridge Hospice, Bowling Green.
Karen Buchenberg
NAPOLEON - Karen L. Buchenberg, 63, Napoleon, died Sunday morning at Fulton County Health Care Center, Wauseon, from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident in Fulton County.
She was born March 16, 1938, in Detroit, the daughter of William and Ruby (Whitner) Sadler. In 1960, she married
Robert Buchenberg, who died in 1985. She had an associate's degree in accounting from Northwest State Community College and was an accountant/office manager for Pioneer Forge. The Defiance County 4-H volunteer was also a member of Shiloh Christian Union Church, Delta.
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Chandler of Defiance and Beth Gollihue, Wauseon; a son, David, Delta; a brother, William Sadler, Detroit; two sisters, Betty Masters of Union Mills, N.C., and Paula Schaffner, Fayette; and three grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Timothy; and a sister, Joanne Sadler.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with Pastor Chuck Whitmire officiating. Burial will be in Hoy cemetery, Harrison Township. Visitation is from 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday in Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon, and one hour prior to services Friday in the church.
Preferred memorials are to the church building fund.
Minnie Betts
NAPOLEON - Minnie (Lee) Betts, 79, Napoleon, died Monday morning in Henry County Hospital, Napoleon.
She was born Aug. 25, 1922, in Winnsboro, La., the daughter of Hardy and Nettie (Wright) Johnston. In 1941, she married
Vernon Betts, who died in 1970. She was a retired clerk from Lane Drug Store, Napoleon, and a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Napoleon.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dan (Debra) Storch of McClure and Mrs. Tim (Diane) Holmes, Delta; a brother, W.H. Johnston, Winnsboro; three sisters, Mrs. Bill (Ruby) Davis of Winnsboro, Mrs. Laughn (Addie) Massey of Chourdant, La., and Mrs. George (Allie) Mayers, Natchez, Miss.; and four grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death was a brother, Bill Johnston.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, with Rev. Kirk Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery, Napoleon. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday.
Preferred memorials are to the church, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
William Young
NAPOLEON - Services for William Young will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Napoleon, with Rev. Michael Westbay officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in Walker Mortuary, Napoleon. Young was born Nov. 5, 1933, in Payne. Among survivors is his wife, Dee.
Lawrence Post
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Word was received of the Dec. 29 death of former Hicksville resident Lawrence L. Post, 66, Fort Myers.
He was born April 27, 1935, in Battle Creek, Mich., the son of Ralph and Helen Post. His wife, Jacquelin, survives.
Also surviving are a stepmother, Dorothy Stanfield, Battle Creek; two sons, Jeffrey of Estero, Fla., and Randy, Hicksville; a brother, Norman, Battle Creek; and two grandsons.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. John Lutheran Church, Hicksville, with Rev. Penti Maki officiating. There will be no visitation. Handling arrangements is Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville.
Preferred memorials are to American Lung Association.
Vern Shirley Stork Sr.
PAULDING - Vern Shirley Stork Sr., 83, Paulding, died at 4:47 p.m. Sunday in Defiance Hospital.
He was born Nov. 13, 1918, in Paulding County, the son of Samuel and Goldie (Hanenkrath) Stork. In 1936, he married
Irene Engelmann, who survives. He was a farmer and worked at Masterson's, Johns Manville and GM Powertrain, all of Defiance. He was a former member of Jewell Grain Co. and Farm Bureau and a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Defiance, Bryan Eagles Aerie 2233 and Polka Boosters of Northwest Ohio.
Also surviving are five sons, Vern Jr. and Paul, both of Paulding, Larry of Oakwood and Gary and Michael, both of Defiance; four daughters, Mrs. Paul (Elizabeth) Winover of Oakwood and Judy Shaffer, Deborah Ramon and Mrs. Dennis (Gloria) Arps, all of Defiance; two brothers, Samuel of Columbus, Tenn., and Clifford, Defiance; three sisters, Joann Wichman and Doris Pease, both of Defiance, and Ruth Aden, St. Petersburg, Fla.; and 31 grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 22 great-stepgrandchildren, a great-great-grandson and six great-great-stepgrandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a son, Nelson; two sisters, Minnie Liska and Marvelle Skiver; a brother, Blaine; and a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church with Rev. Alfred Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Defiance. Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. today and 2-9 p.m. Wednesday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, Defiance, and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.

Parnell Sitton Sr.
PAULDING - Parnell F. Sitton Sr., 76, Paulding, died Monday in Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne. Surviving is his wife, Charlotte. Arrangements are pending at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding.

BOWLING GREEN - Edith Rahmel, 80, a resident of Ayersville and Bowling Green, died this morning at her Bowling Green residence. Among survivors is her husband, Gerald. Arrangements are pending at Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, Defiance.
William Young
NAPOLEON - William Young, 68, Napoleon, died Saturday evening in Toledo Hospital.
He was born Nov. 2, 1933, in Payne, the son of Charles and Ruby (Brooks) Young. In 1960, he married
Darlene Gregory, who survives. He was the president of Tonaco Inc., Bowling Green, for 10 years, served as president and councilman in Napoleon, chairman of the Henry County Republican Party and was president of Napoleon Band Boosters. He was president of the Jaycees in Marion, a U.S. Army veteran, a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Lions Club, Rotary Club and Masonic Lodge, all of Napoleon, and a coach of Tigers Little League team and a Napoleon girls' softball team.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mike (Renisa) Dorner and Saundra, both of Perrysburg, and Mrs. Jeff (Joyce) Knapp, Crestline; two sons, Mike of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Tom, Pataskala; a brother, Donald, Sierra Vista, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the church with Rev. Michael Westbay officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Walker Mortuary, Napoleon.
