William Easley
GARLAND, Texas - Defiance native William Easley, 83, Garland, died Wednesday.
He was born Feb. 24, 1918, in Defiance, the son of Lawrence and Bertha (Conn) Easley. He married Lauretta Keeler, who survives. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and former superintendent of Defiance County Children's Home. The southern Baptist mission pastor was a Youth for Christ board member, owner of two barber shops, a church planter and a mission service corps volunteer.
Also surviving are two daughters, Barbara Oden of Garland and Mrs. Larry (Becky) Senf, Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Del (Helen) Hammon of Defiance and Mrs. Reed (Ruth) Wallick, Grover Hill; and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday in Eastgate Funeral Home, Garland, with Rev. Harvey Abke officiating. Burial will be in Veterans cemetery, Dallas. Preferred memorials are to Dallas Baptist Association Multi-housing Ministry, 8001 E. RL Thornton Freeway, Dallas 75228, or Alzheimer's Association.

Janetta Homan
LEIPSIC - Services for Janetta K. Homan will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic, with Rev. Kay Wilcox officiating. Burial will be in Monroe cemetery, Continental. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday. Among survivors are two sisters, Lucille Freidhoff and Sara Rosebrock, both of Holgate.

Joanne Gump
Joanne M. Gump, 69, Defiance, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in Defiance Hospital. Among survivors is her husband, Richard. Arrangements are pending at Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home.

Julia Szabo
PAYNE - Julia Szabo, 92, Payne, died at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday in Dallas Lamb Foundation Home, Payne.
She was born March 14, 1909, in Jolliet, Ill., the daughter of Julius and Elizabeth (Horvat) Kalmar. In 1924, she married Joseph Szabo, who died in 1984. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Payne.
Surviving are three daughters, Elizabeth Hedrick and Helen Sesler, both of Antwerp; and Margaret Rau, Payne; and 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death was a son, Louis.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with Rev. G. Allan Fillman officiating. Burial will be in Lehman cemetery, Payne. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Thursday in Slade Funeral Home, Payne, with an 8 p.m. rosary service.
Preferred memorials are to the church or Dallas Lamb Foundation Home Auxiliary.

John Badenhop
Services for John Paul Badenhop were held Tuesday in St. John's Catholic Church with Father Tim Kummerer officiating. Organist was Dave Moninger. Burial was in St. Paul's Catholic cemetery, Hamler, with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 262. Pallbearers were Dennis Ripke, Gary Bidlack, Alan Deatrick, Bruce Badenhop, Dave Krauss and Jeff Breymair. Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Robert Goshia
Robert Lynn Goshia, 65, rural Defiance, died at 1:25 p.m. Sunday in Laurels of Defiance.
He was born June 16, 1936, in Defiance, the son of Herman and Madolyne (Davidson) Goshia. In 1967, he married Janice Griggs, who died in 1983. He was a parts manager at Winkle Motor Sales in Paulding, a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a member of Paulding VFW Post 587.
Surviving are two sons, Jerry of Austin, Texas, and Robert II, Defiance; a brother, Fred, Wadsworth; and a grandson.
Also preceding him in death were his parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens. Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Preferred memorials are to Defiance County Veteran's Office.

Juan Beltran Jr.
ARCHBOLD - Juan M. Beltran Jr., 27, Archbold, died Saturday morning in Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon, from injuries sustained in a one-car accident Saturday on the Ohio Turnpike in Fulton County.
He was born Feb. 1, 1974, in Napoleon, the son of Juan Sr. and Blanca (Chapa) Beltran. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in an armored division, and a stock car driver at Oakshade track. He formerly worked at TRW Automotive and played on the company softball team.
Surviving are his parents, Archbold; two children, Jamie of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Traceland Schuellar, Wauseon; two brothers, Daniel of Wauseon and Willie, Defiance; four sisters, Mrs. Jerry (Ruby) Quintanilla and Elizabeth and Tammi Beltran, all of Archbold, and Mrs. Fernando (Frances) Canales, Wauseon; and a grandmother, Ruperta Beltran, Wauseon.
Preceding him in death were three grandparents.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Good Shepherd Mennonite Church, rural Archbold, with Rev. David Tijerina officiating. Burial will be in Pettisville cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday in Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon, with a 7 p.m. memorial service.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the family's choice.

Fred Holley
LIBERTY CENTER - Fred William Holley, 61, Liberty Center, died Sunday in his residence.
He was born March 17, 1940, in Eutaw, Ala., the son of Winn and Millie (Walker) Holley. In 1961, he married Dotty Rettig, who survives. He worked in maintenance at Campbell Soup Co., Napoleon, for more than 30 years before retiring in 1997.
Also surviving are a daughter, Joan Fretz, Wauseon; three sons, Dale of Defiance, Ralph of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Tim, Ridgeville Corners; three brothers, Vannoy of Linden, Ala., Joe of Birmingham, Ala., and Paul, Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and seven grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Elaine Julian and Zulla Wheat; and an infant brother.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Bethany Baptist Church, Grand Rapids, with Pastor Timothy Coley officiating. Burial will be in Heath cemetery, Colton. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center.
Preferred memorials are to Hospice of Henry County.

Lois E. Tonjes
NAPOLEON - Lois E. Tonjes, 77, Napoleon, died Sunday evening in Henry County Hospital, Napoleon. Arrangements are pending at Walker Mortuary, Napoleon.

Betty Miller
Betty Mae Miller, 75, Defiance, died at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday in Harborside Healthcare.
She was born July 14, 1926, in Wylie, Minn., the daughter of Henry and Cora (Norman) Wood. In 1948, she married Edward Miller, who survives. In 1989, she retired after 30 years as a registered nurse.
Also surviving are two sons, Gregory and Richard, both of Defiance; a daughter, Ann, Hill City, S.D.; three sisters, all in Minnesota; and four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
There will be a remembrance time from 2-5 p.m. Saturday at Highland Township Fire Department. There is no visitation. Handling arrangements is Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home.
Preferred memorials are to Hospice the Caring Way of Defiance.

Margaret Shellenbarger
Margaret C. Eitniear Shellenbarger, 59, Defiance, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born May 24, 1942, in Williams County, the daughter of Alva and Jennie (Newell) Barrett. She married Jerry Eitniear, who died in 1988. In 1996, she married Richard Shellenbarger, who survives. She was a florist at Kircher's Flowers and a member of First Baptist Church.
Also surviving are four sons, David Eitniear of Oakwood, Brian and Jerry Eitniear II, both of Defiance, and Mark Eitniear, Pioneer; a daughter, Mrs. Jeff (Diana) Kallas, Defiance; three sisters, Mrs. James (Lee) Reynolds of Key West, Fla., Mrs. George (Theodora) Hahn of Nashville, Tenn., and Mrs., Glen (Eva) Hasch, Reading, Mich.; and 13 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; and two brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. John McKay officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor's choice.

Eileen Hughes
PULASKI - Eileen T. Hughes, 78, Pulaski, died Wednesday in Oden, Mich. She was the widow of Robert Hughes. Arrangements are pending at Short Funeral Home, Archbold.

Rosella Allen
DESHLER - Rosella M. Allen, 93, Deshler, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in her residence.
She was born July 13, 1908, in Swanton, the daughter of Martin and Regina (Burkhardt) Buckenmeyer. In 1930, she married Richard Allen, who died in 1985. She was the owner and manager of Deshler Hardware Co. for 34-years, a former employee of A&P Co. in Toledo and Allen Food Market, Trilby, and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler.
Surviving are three sons, Gary of Deshler, Terry of Lake Lure, N.C., and Neal, Bowling Green; and 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Dale Allen; a sister, Amelia Schweitzer; and six brothers, Martin, Sylvester, Albinus, Richard, Theodore and Walter Buckenmeyer.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the church with Fr. Paul Fahrbach officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Deshler. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Sunday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler.
Preferred memorials are to the church's parish foundation.

Kevin Michaelis
HOLGATE - Kevin Michaelis, 39, Holgate, died early today in Henry County Hospital, Napoleon. Arrangements are pending at Snyder Funeral Home, Holgate.

Michael Dopp Sr.
LYONS - Michael P. Dopp Sr., 43, Lyons, died Thursday morning in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, from injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident Wednesday evening in Fulton County.
He was born May 23, 1958, in Wauseon, the son of Paul and Margaret (Warncke) Dopp. In 1978, he married Peggy Mull, who survives. He was a farmer.
Also surviving are his parents, Kosciusko, Miss.; two daughters, Michelle of Dayton and Molly, at home; a son, Michael Jr., at home; and two brothers, Steve of Napoleon and Kevin, Lyons.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in Trinity Lutheran Church, Wauseon, with Rev. Scott Silcox officiating. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Saturday in Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon.
Preferred memorials are to American Heart Association or Morenci, Mich., Fire and Rescue.

Ray Fitzwater
OAKWOOD - Ray A. Fitzwater, 84, Oakwood, died at 2:33 a.m. today in Paradise Oaks Nursing Home, Cloverdale. Arrangements are pending at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Oakwood.
