Shirley Cluts
PAULDING - Shirley J. Cluts, 59, Paulding, died at 11:25 a.m. Wednesday in her residence after an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 2, 1942, in Oakwood, the daughter of Kenny and Garnet (Hope) Thrasher. In 1962, she married
Dale Cluts, who survives. She worked for Cooper Hatchery, Oakwood, and was a member of Paulding Church of the Nazarene and Paulding Eagles Aerie 2405 Auxiliary.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Nicky) Schaefer and Mrs. Bob (Shelly) Stricklin, both of Paulding; a sister, Norma Lusk, Florida; and many stepbrothers and stepsisters.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and a son, Larry.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in DenHerder Funeral Home, with Rev. Keith Sarver officiating. Burial will be in Wiltsie cemetery, Payne. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Friday and after 8 a.m. Saturday.
Preferred memorials are to Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio.

Robert Wirick
PALMER, Alaska - Word was received of the March 17 death of Paulding County native Robert Wayne Wirick, 79, Palmer, in his home.
He was born Sept. 30, 1921, in Paulding County, the son of Glenn and Eva (Sunday) Wirick. In 1942, he married
Mary Luliak, who survives. He was a foreman at the former Haviland Clay Works and General Portland Cement Co. in Paulding and a retired truck driver. He was also a farmer and member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Palmer.
Also surviving are a son, Rick, Lodi; four daughters, Judy Neher of Palmer, Marylou Birkmire of Martel, Neb., Rita Miller of Fort Wayne and Peggy Simon, Toledo; a brother, Gerald, Paulding; and 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was a grandson.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, with Pastor Scott Townsend officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Saturday.
Preferred memorials are to American Cancer Societies of Paulding and Defiance counties.

WAUSEON - Hazel M. Buehrer, 77, Wauseon, died this morning in Northcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Napoleon. She was the widow of Clarence Buehrer. Arrangements are pending at Short Funeral Home, Archbold.

Don Bachellor
MARIETTA, S.C. - Don D. Bachellor, 70, Marietta, died at 5:08 p.m. Tuesday in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born April 15, 1930, in Payne, the son of Nolan and Alta (Shilts) Bachellor. In 1960, he married
Ellen Snyder, who survives. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict and a recreational vehicle salesman and manager, retiring in 1992.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charlie (Janet) Lyons, Payne; a brother, Roland, Deerfield Beach, Fla.; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Steven; and a sister, Romala Riley.
Family visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at Charlie and Janet Lyons' home, Payne. Handling arrangements is Northeast Indiana Cremation Society, Fort Wayne.
Preferred memorials are to National Kidney Foundation.

Robert Spengler
WAUSEON - Robert E. Spengler, 83, Wauseon, died Thursday morning in Toledo Hospital.
He was born Oct. 20, 1917, in Fulton County's German Township, the son of Edwin and Grace (Leu) Spengler. In 1941, he married
Donna Liechty, who survives. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving with the Flying Tigers, and worked 45 years for Toledo Edison, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Tedrow United Methodist Church and the former 75 and older world championship softball team, the Florida Diamonds, and a life member of Wauseon American Legion Post 265 and Wauseon VFW Post 7574.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Schroeder of Wauseon, Mrs. Gary (Carol) Brink of Blissfield, Mich., and Mrs. Jeff (Jane) Dominique, Chandler, Ariz.; a son, Edwin, Wauseon; a brother, Curt, Archbold; a sister, Mrs. John (Anna) Funk, Maumee; and nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and a stepgreat-granddaugher.
Preceding him in death were two sisters, Bernice Nofziger and Marie Gayton; and a brother, Herb.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the church with Rev. Joe Chrisman officiating. Burial will be in the Wauseon Union cemetery. Visitation is from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday in Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon.
Preferred memorials are to the church or a charity of the donor's choice.

Gertrude Myers
TOLEDO - Former Paulding resident Olive Gertrude Phillips Myers, 95, Toledo, died Thursday in Harborside Healthcare, Sylvania.
She was born March 2, 1906, in Hudson Mich., the daughter of Walter and Minnie (Riley) Phillips. In 1937, she married
Bufford Myers, who died in 1979.
Also preceding her in death was a brother, Donald Phillips.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Live Oak cemetery, Paulding. Visitation is from 3-7 p.m. Friday.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor's choice.

Kathleen Gore
ATHENS, Ga. - Former Defiance resident Kathleen Falcon Gore, 54, Athens, died Wednesday after an extended illness.
She was born May 12, 1947. She was a 1968 graduate of Defiance College. She married
Timothy Gore, who survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. William (Marie) Falcon, Athens; a daughter, Dominique Honerkamp, Brooklyn, N.Y.; two brothers, Kevin Falcon of Herndon, N.J., and Nicholas Falcon, Canada; and two grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Dr. Kevin and Ruth McCann.
Graveside services will be today, followed by memorial services at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Athens.
Preferred memorials are to the American Cancer Society or Loran Smith Cancer Center, affiliated with Athens Regional Hospital.

Mary Nagel
Mary P. Nagel, 77, Defiance, died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday in Kingsbury House, Defiance.
She was born Dec. 7, 1923, in Neffs, the daughter of Frank and Elva (Lakomy) Veloski. She married
Carl Badenhop, who died in 1969. In 1971, she married
Karl Nagel, who died in 1991. She worked at Bud's Restaurant and Home Health Care in Defiance and Wauseon. She was a Defiance County 4-H adviser and a member of St. John Lutheran Church, its ladies auxiliary, Defiance County Easter Seal Society and VFW Post 3360 Auxiliary.
Surviving are a son, Carl Badenhop, Napoleon; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Karen) Kent of Defiance and Mrs. Jim (Sonya) Whitehead, Holland; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Walter and John Veloski.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the church with Rev. Donald Luhring officiating. Burial will be in St. Stephen Lutheran cemetery, Defiance County. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Sunday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday in the church.
