Golda Gilliland
VAN WERT - Golda Wunder Gilliland, 86, Van Wert, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert.
She was born Jan. 30, 1914, in Paulding County, the daughter of Lurty and Ethel (Wunder) Kanney. In 1935, she married
Dale Gilliland, who died in September. She farmed with her husband, was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church and Gleaners Sunday school class and taught Sunday school for many years.
Surviving are two sons, James of Van Wert and Paul, Battle Creek, Mich.; a daughter, Jean Taylor, Defiance; a brother, Ed Kanney, Van Wert; a sister, Virginia Bagley, Van Wert; and seven grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and four great-stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Cowan and Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, with Revs. Raymond Feeck and W. Clark Williman officiating. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery, Van Wert. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Sunday.
Preferred memorials are to the church's improvement fund.

Margaret Sullivan
STRYKER - Margaret M. Sullivan, 91, Stryker, died Wednesday evening in Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon.
She was born June 10, 1909, near Stryker, the daughter of Lamont and Alverda (Kennedy) Clark. She married
Melvin Sullivan, who died in 1963.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Carmen) Krumel of Westerville and Mrs. Dennis (Sharon) Wisniewski, Stryker; two sons, Neal of Stryker and Richard, Bryan; a sister, Carmen Zion, Portland, Ore.; and 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Private services will be held Saturday in the chapel at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home, Archbold, with Rev. Charles Gautsche officiating. Burial will be in Shiffler cemetery, rural Bryan. Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. today at Grisier Funeral Home, Stryker.
Preferred memorials are to the nursing home.

Herman Kurtz
BRYAN - Herman W. Kurtz, 80, Bryan, died Thursday at Hillside Country Living Center, Bryan.
He was born Feb. 7, 1920, in Williams County, to William and Carla (Thiel) Kurtz. He worked for Williams County Highway Department.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Ann) Taylor of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., Mrs. Tim (Betty) Hebel of Elba, Ala., Connie Wilson of Grand Ledge, Mich., Mrs. Brian (Sue) Mills of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Mrs. Steve (Terri) Mencarelli, Grand Rapids, Mich.; four sons, Mike and Caleb, both of West Unity, Edward of Montpelier, and Jim, Columbus; and 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a daughter, Debbie; and a brother, Harold.
There will be no visitation or services. Handling arrangements is Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home, Bryan.

Milan Farlee
MONROE, La. - Milan L. Farlee, 51, Monroe, died Nov. 12 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Houston.
He was born in Hamilton, Ind., the son of Ike and Madonna Farlee. He married
Sadi McCandlish, who survives. A U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam War, he attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., New York University and IU Purdue, Fort Wayne. He received a degree in mechanical engineering, a master's degree in electrical engineering and held a quality certification. He worked at K-Tec Electronics, Sugarland, Texas, and Dickey-John Corp., Alburn, Ill.
Also surviving are a daughter, Kimberly; and twins, Kiersten and Kurt, all at home.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church's Feazel Chapel, West Monroe, with Dr. David Uth and Rev. Charles Martindale officiating. Burial will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park cemetery, Monroe. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. today in Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe.
Preferred memorials are to the church's building fund.

Hilda Snyder
Hilda H. Snyder, 94, Defiance, died at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday in her home.
She was born Dec. 16, 1905, in Defiance County, the daughter of Henry and Pauline (Reineke) Roehrs. In 1937, she married
Lester Snyder, who died in 1962. She was co-owner of Reuss & Snyder and a member of St. John Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid, Defiance College Women's Commission, Defiance Hospital Auxiliary and Defiance Area Foundation.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. James (Rita) Meier, Defiance; and two grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a brother, Reinhart Roehrs; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Luhring officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Friday.
Preferred memorials are to the church or a charity of the donor's choice.

David Morgan
CONTINENTAL - David Morgan, 73, Continental, died at 9:14 p.m. Tuesday in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born June 13, 1927, in Coshocton, the son of Rev. H. David and Helen (Rogers) Morgan. In 1951, he married
Norma Jean Winkle, who survives. He formerly worked at Ford Motor Co., Lima, and was a musician accompanying many gospel groups. He had a Sunday morning gospel music broadcast on WDOH in Delphos and was a member of Free Christian Church of God in Continental and Lima Hammond Organ Society.
Also surviving are a son, Richard, Continental; a daughter, Vicki, Lima; two sisters, Marilyn Ewing of Elida and Naida, Lima; and two grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, twin sons who died at birth and two brothers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church with Rev. James Fry officiating. Burial will be in Monroe cemetery, Continental. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to the church or American Heart Association.

Lester Shafer
CLOVERDALE - Lester R. Shafer, 91, Cloverdale, died at 10:02 p.m. Tuesday in Paradise Oaks Quality Care Center, Cloverdale.
He was born April 26, 1909, in Paulding County, the son of Lloyd and Mary (Gillispie) Shafer. In 1946, he married
Phyllis Schmidt, who survives. He was a farmer and a truck driver for Wollam Ag Center Inc., Continental, and a member Dupont Service Station's board of directors and Dupont Church of the Brethren. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1941-46 in Italy and North Africa.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Stan (Suzann) Bauman, Lima; a son, Hollis, Astoria, Ill.; three sisters, Anna Mary Etter of Dupont, Edith Sword of Weslaco, Texas, and Edna Place, Melrose; a brother, Russel, Fort Wayne; and four grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a brother, Lloyd; and two sisters, Marie Hoover and Sarah Burkholder.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the church with Rev. Terry Porter officiating. Burial will be in Monroe cemetery, Continental, with military services accorded by Continental American Legion Post. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to the church or American Cancer Society.
