Lois Cameron
EVANSPORT - Lois I. Cameron, 86, Evansport, died Monday morning at Harborside Healthcare, Defiance, after an extended illness.
She was born Oct. 22, 1913, in Defiance County, the daughter of Emmett and Esther (Waggoner) Cameron. She was a medical secretary in Defiance and Bryan and she and her family owned and operated Cameron Grocery Store, Evansport. She was also a member of Evansport United Methodist Church and the its WSCS.
Among survivors is a niece, Mrs. Roger (Jennie) Vogelsong, Defiance.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church with Rev. Melvin Peter officiating. Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Grisier Funeral Home, Stryker.
Preferred memorials are to the church or Hospice the Caring Way of Defiance.

La Jane Benien
ARCHBOLD - La Jane B. Benien, 84, Archbold, died Sunday evening at Fairlawn Haven, Archbold.
She was born April 10, 1916, in Archbold, the daughter of Olley and Hulda (Vonier) Lauber. In 1941, she married Arthur Benien, who survives. She was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church, Archbold.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Bette) Brumbaugh, Bryan; and a sister, Mrs. Paul (Josephine) Short, Archbold.
Preceding her in death was a brother, Olley Lauber.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church with Rev. Thomas Lyberg officiating. Burial will be in Archbold cemetery. Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. today at Short Funeral Home, Archbold.

Robert Snyder
BRYAN - Robert Greeley Snyder, 77, Bryan, died Monday morning in Community Hospitals of Williams County-Bryan, after an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Bryan, the son of Horace and Ester (Flightner) Snyder. He married Mary Funk, who died in 1968. In 1975, he married Helen Kerr, who survives. He was a U.S. Army administrator for 30 years, a veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired from active duty in 1968. He was a vice president of operations and commercial loans divisions of Pioneer Bank and Trust Co., St. Louis, Mo., for eight years. He was also a member of First Brethren Church in Bryan, American Legion Post 284 and Bryan Moose lodge and a Williams County Sheriff's Office associate deputy.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Frederick (Marjorie) Sykes, Bryan; a brother, Charles, St. Louis; and a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Brown cemetery, Bryan, with Elder Jack Oxenrider officiating. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 284. Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Rice Funeral Home, Bryan.
Preferred memorials are to Hillside Country Living, Bryan.

E. Blanche Orwig
McCLURE - E. Blanche Orwig, 95, McClure, died at 9:50 a.m. Monday in Toledo Hospital.
She was born Aug. 31, 1904, in Delphi, Ind., the daughter of Bert and Clara (Swatts) Booth. She married Alvil Zimmerman, who preceded her in death. In 1936, she then married Alden Orwig, who died in 1973. She was a home care provider for 11 years at Filling Memorial Home of Mercy, Napoleon. She was also the last living member of the 04 Club, McClure, a member of McClure United Methodist Church and a Sunday school teacher.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Delores) Kane, McClure; and three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Merl, Ralph and Wilbur Booth; a sister, Lillian Armstrong; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Rodenberger Funeral Home, McClure, with Rev. Thomas Moyer officiating. Burial will be in Hockman cemetery, McClure. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday.
Preferred memorials are to the church or Lutheran Home.

DESHLER - Flavio Perales Sr., 95, Deshler, died Monday at Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green. Arrangements are pending at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler.

Darl Porter
Darl W. Porter, 74, Defiance, died Thursday in his home.
He was born Aug. 4, 1926, in Defiance, the son of Glen and Mabel (Houck) Porter. He was a retired electrician from Toledo Edison and a U.S. Army veteran. He had also been a member of Union Local 245, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Moose Lodge 2094 and Eagles Aerie 372.
Surviving are three sons, Randall of Oakwood, and Wayne and Martin, both of Defiance; a daughter, Patricia Anderson, Defiance; two sisters, Helen Shawver and Dolores Retcher, both of Defiance; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a son, Gary; and two brothers, Eugene and Gerald.
Private services will be held Saturday at Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Rufenacht officiating. Burial will be in Ayersville cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor's choice.

Alva Conley
HICKSVILLE - Alva Lee Roy Conley, 67, Hicksville, died at 10:20 a.m. Thursday in his home.
He was born May 7, 1933, in Hicksville, the son of Merton and Marion (Weddle) Strain. In 1954, he married Bonnie Luderman, who died in 1987. He trained and raced horses and was a truck driver, retiring from International Harvester, Fort Wayne, in 1979. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a Hicksville Township trustee and a member of Hicksville Horseman Association, St. John Lutheran Church, Masonic lodge, Eagles Aerie 2556 and American Legion Post 223, all of Hicksville.
Surviving are stepparents, Alvin and Emma Conley, Hicksville; two sons, Barry of Bowling Green and Bob, Toledo; a sister, Mary Rohrs, Hicksville; his fiancé, Mary Manning, Toledo; and three grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a brother, Jerry.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville, with Rev. Penti Maki officiating. Burial will be in Lost Creek cemetery, Hicksville, with military rites accorded by Hicksville's VFW and American Legion posts. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday. A Masonic service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday.

Nelson McClain
PAYNE - Nelson (Slim) H. McClain, 71, Payne, died at 10:21 p.m. Wednesday in Paulding County Hospital, Paulding.
He was born Feb. 14, 1929, in Paulding. In 1948, he married Nadina Burk, who survives. He was a heavy equipment operator, retiring from Webb Brothers Construction, Defiance. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of American Legion Post 297, Payne.
Also surviving are a son, Michael, Defiance; a brother, Clifford, Swanton; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Slade Funeral Home, Payne, with Rev. Max Begley officiating. Burial will be in Lehman cemetery, Payne, with military rites accorded by American Legion Post 297. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Sunday.
Preferred memorials are to Payne EMS.

Donard Hursh
WAUSEON - Word was received of the Nov. 10 death of Donard (Dusty) E. Hursh, 55, Wauseon, in his home after an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 1, 1945, in Angola, Ind., the son of Donald and Betty Hursh. He was a chef for Richard's, Auburn, and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Defiance.
Surviving are two stepsons, Thomas Wiler of Defiance and Andrew Wiler, Montpelier; two stepdaughters, Amy Deetz of Montpelier and Holly Wiler, New Mexico; two brothers, Thomas and Robert, Coldwater, Mich.; and two sisters, Rose Boyle of Angola and Sharon, Wisconsin.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon. There will be no visitation.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor's choice.

George Kress
WAUSEON - George L. Kress, 84, Wauseon, died Wednesday at Heartland of Wauseon.
He was born Aug. 21, 1916, in Stryker, the son of George and Carrie (Miller) Kress. In 1951, he married Margery Phillips, who died in 1999. He owned and operated Western Auto Store in Wauseon, was a realtor and an inspector for Fulton County Weights and Measures. He was a member of East Chesterfield Christian Church, Wauseon VFW Post 7424 and Robinson-Gibbs American Legion Post 265 and a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mick (Lynette) Kime, Delta; and two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Diana; and a brother, Arthur.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon, with Rev. Paul Sternisha officiating. Burial will be in Wauseon Union cemetery with military services accorded by Robinson-Gibbs American Legion Post 265 and Wauseon VFW Post 7424. Visitation is from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today.
Preferred memorials are to the church.
