Edward Rickels Jr.
PAULDING - Edward Fred Rickels Jr., 39, Paulding, died at 9:28 p.m. Saturday in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born Dec. 25, 1959, in Paulding County, the son of Edward and Georgia (Gray) Rickels Sr. He was a farmer.
Surviving are his parents; a brother, John, Paulding; a sister, Ilene Fickel, Cecil; two half brothers, Don of Sherwood and Paul, Dayton; and two half sisters, Loretta Gipple of Hicksville and Evelyn King, Latty.
Preceding him in death were a half brother, Erin Harp; and his grandparents.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, with Rev. David Proctor officiating. Burial will be in Paulding Memorial cemetery. Visitation is from 6:30-9 p.m. Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday.
Preferred memorials are to the family.

Norman Mohr
WOODBURN, Ind. - Norman L. Mohr, 61, rural Woodburn, died at 11:10 p.m. Sunday in his residence.
He was born Dec. 21, 1937, in Monroeville, the son of Clarence and Edyth (Heath) Mohr. In 1957, he married Nancy Moore, who survives. He worked for 28 years at the Allen County Highway Department and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Payne.
Also surviving are two sons, Randolph and Reed, both of Woodburn; two daughters, Michele Kashner of Woodburn and Malissa Baxter, Payne; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Payne, with Rev. G. Allan Fillman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Wednesday at Slade Funeral Home, Payne.
Preferred memorials are to the Allen County Cancer Society or Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice, Fort Wayne.

Jenetta Carder
CONTINENTAL - Jenetta Carder, 85, Continental, died at 2 p.m. Monday in Lima Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are pending at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental.

Harry Hall
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Word was received today of the Oct. 27 death of former Defiance resident Harry Hall, 73, Lexington.
He was born June 12, 1926, in Toledo, and graduated from Defiance High School in 1944. He taught school at Millersburg Military Academy for 43 years.
Surviving is a sister, Molly Kerr, Tucson, Ariz.
Services were held at the Lexington Methodist Church.

Victor Shondal
CENTERBURG - Victor J. Shondal, 82, Centerburg, died Monday evening at Heartland of Centerburg Nursing Home. Arrangements are pending at Snyder Funeral Home, Holgate.

Donald White
Services for Donald (Don) C. White were held Monday at St. Paul Methodist Church with Revs. Suzanne Allen and Todd Anderson officiating. Music was provided by Martie Kindinger, Craig Andrews, Fred Schultz and Kristin Colwell-Shupe. Burial was in Riverside cemetery. Pallbearers were Stephen and Joel Max, Kent Colwell, Jeffrey Shupe, Brad Grant, Fred Schultz, Dave Stephens and Dick Schweitzer. Honorary pallbearers were Don Kahl, John Roehrig, John Hall, Kirk Krutch, Elmer Myers, Jim and Fred Bohlmann and Dr. Robert Southworth. Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Marjorie Ball
Services for Marjorie R. Ball were held Monday at Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Wilken officiating. Organist was Jan Kaiser. Burial was in Riverside cemetery. Pallbearers were Eugene, Randy, Dan and Richard Ball, Christopher Schlegel and Daniel Wink.

Hubert Hesselschwardt
Hubert J. Hesselschwardt, 74, rural Defiance, died at 8:15 p.m. Monday in his home. Among survivors is his wife, Hildonna. Arrangements are pending at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home.

Gilbert Lammers
NEW CLEVELAND - Gilbert L. Lammers, 89, New Cleveland, died at 12:20 p.m. Monday in Calvary Manor Nursing Home, Glandorf.
He was born May 15, 1910, in New Cleveland, the son of Frank and Katherine (Weis) Lammers. In 1935, he married Helen Folmring, who died in 1995. He was retired from Buckeye Sugar in Ottawa and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Ottawa Eagles aerie.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Mary Ann) Weasel, Malinta; and eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, three great-stepgrandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Also preceding him in death were a daughter, Alma Wolke; a sister, Luella Barlage; and three brothers, Waldo, and two in infancy.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the church with Rev. Robert DeSloover officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, with an Eagles service at 7 p.m.
Preferred memorials are to Putnam County Home Health or Putnam County EMS.

Lora Haase
BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. - Former Hamler resident Lora Ann Haase, 85, Bonita Springs, died Monday morning at her son's residence in Florida. Arrangements are pending at Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon.

Arthur Horney
PAYNE - Arthur L. Horney, 85, Payne, died Sunday afternoon at his home.
He was born Oct. 15, 1914, in Grover Hill, the son of James and Vera (Anderson) Horney. He married Lola Pirtle, who preceded him in death. He retired from Chrysler Automotive Corp. in Detroit and was a U.S. Army World War II veteran of the Battle of the Bulge, receiving the Purple Heart. He was also a member of Paulding VFW Post 587 and Paulding Eagles Aerie 2405.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ed (Ruby) Nicholson, St. Simons Island, Ga.; three sisters, Ruby Worthington of Antwerp, Bertha Mae Davis of Van Wert and Alverda Harmon, Defiance; and five stepgrandchildren and seven great-stepgrandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Edwin, William, Glen and John; and three sisters, Ethel Rice, Jessie McClure and Hazel Snyder.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, with Rev. James Howell officiating. Burial will be in Middle Creek cemetery, Grover Hill, with military rites conducted by Paulding VFW Post 587. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until services Thursday.
Preferred memorials are to Paulding County Area Visiting Nurses-Hospice, Paulding County Chapter of the American Heart Association or National World War II Monument Fund, Washington, D.C.

Ronald Jodry
STRYKER - Services for Ronald J. Jodry will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Grisier Funeral Home, Stryker, with Revs. Thurman Payton and David Jodry officiating. Burial will be in French cemetery. Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Preferred memorials are to Gideons International or a charity of the donor's choice.

Helene Fox
Services for Helene E. Fox were held Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Tim Kummerer officiating. Organist was Jim Dunham. Burial was in St. Michael's cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill and Tony Fox, Albert and Richard Mekus and Alex and David Lackey. Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Noah Keller
Word was received of the May 31 death of Noah James Keller, Defiance, who was stillborn at Paulding County Hospital.
Surviving are his parents, Brent and Jody (Spencer) Keller, Defiance; and grandparents, Jerry and Betty Chandler of Defiance, and Nick and Vickie Spencer, Oakwood.
Preceding him in death was his grandfather, Jim Keller.
Graveside services were held this morning at Cromley cemetery, Defiance County, with Rev. David Tscherne officiating.
Preferred memorials are to the charity of the donor's choice.

Gladys Churchman
BRYAN - Gladys Eloise Churchman, 77, Edgerton, died Monday morning at Park View Nursing Home, Edgerton.
She was born March 23, 1923, in Tillamook, Ore., the daughter of Howard and Bertha (Gardener) Boone. She married Lester Churchman, who died in 1993.
Surviving are two brothers, John Boone of Woodburn, Ore., and Fredrick Boone, Yuba, Calif.
There will be no service or visitation. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are handled by Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home, Bryan.
Preferred memorials are to the Salvation Army.

Glenna Landes
NAPOLEON - Glenna I. Landes, 90, Napoleon, died Tuesday morning at Heartland of Perrysburg. Arrangements are pending at Walker Mortuary, Napoleon.
