On Sept. 14, 1963, she married Richard Reitz, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 2006.

Three daughters survive: Tammy Reitz, Columbus; Diane (Vincent) DeBlase, Bellevue and Deborah (Douglas) McDougall of Port Clinton. Four grandchildren, Joseph DeBlase, Hannah DeBlase and Olivia McDougall and Miranda McDougall also survive.

She graduated from Sandusky High School in 1958 and attended Tiffin University. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.

Roberta was the President of Reitz Electric and the business manager of that business as well as Reitz Accounting.

F. Wayne Todd
November 12, 1933 - March 21, 2007
Bellevue, Ohio

Funeral Service: 11:00 am March 24, 2007 at Auxter Funeral Home, Bellevue

Mr. Todd was born in Abilene, Kansas to the late W. Harold and Margarette (Todd) Todd. He had lived most of his life in Bellevue.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley (Mizer) Todd, whom he married on June 20, 1954; two daughters: Lisa (Wayne) McMullen, Dublin; Tami (Scott) Buchwalter, Highland, Illinois; and two sons; Larry (Laura) Todd, Bexley and Jon (Anne) Todd, Reynoldsburg. Seven grandchildren: Emily and Josh McMullen; Caitlin, Abbie and Zack Todd; Tim and Alexandrea Todd, as well as his brother, H. Dean (Joanne Zehner) Todd of Heath, Texas. Two sister-in-laws, Marthella (James) Burrows, Lakeside; and Nancy (Ervin) Remaley, Bellevue also survive.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Jonathan Taylor Todd.

Mr. Todd graduated from Bellevue High School in 1951; and then The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy in 1962. He later owned the Stadium Pharmacy and worked for various pharmacies.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bellevue where he had served as a member of the financial committee; he was a lifetime member of the Ohio State University Assoc; the Past President of the NW Ohio Academy of Pharmacists; a member of the American Academy of Pharmacists; a member of the Bellevue Eagles; and a past member of the Masonic Lodge; Bellevue Elks and the Bellevue Lions, where he had served as its president twice and had received the Lion of the Year Award in 1976 and '77 and then again in 1986 and '87; Mr. Todd was the Chairman of the Cherry Festival in 1981 and 1982. He truly enjoyed helping at the Bellevue Community Center, refinishing antiques, any kind of sport, and working on family genealogy.

Memorials To: First United Methodist Church; or the Kidney Foundation or the Leukemia Society.

Garnita J. Bilger
September 01, 1918 - March 22, 2007
Bellevue, Ohio

Funeral Service: 10:30 am March 26, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Bellevue

Mrs. Bilger was born in Bellevue to the late Alvin and Agatha(Nevland) Butz. On Oct. 20, 1939, she married Ted F. Bilger and he survives, as does a daughter, Sherri (Paul) Szucs of Bellevue; a daughter-in-law, Evelyn Bilger of Monroeville; and a sister, Wilma (Don) Yingling of Bellevue.

She is preceded in death by her son, Bruce C. Bilger on July 5, 1980.

She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1936 and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she had been active in the circles of the church and formerly the secretary of BWHA.

Memorials To: the donor’s choice.

Virginia Gilbert
May 27, 1920 - April 11, 2007
Clyde

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM April 14, 2007 at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home

Survivors include her husband, John W. Gilbert, whom she married on June 2, 1941; a daughter, Penny (Gary) Davenport of Clyde; and two sons, Lanny Gilbert of Sheffield Lake, Ohio and Gary Gilbert of Sunbury, Ohio. Eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren along with four sisters, Varal (Richard)Gilbert, Clyde; Esther Carter, Clyde; Donna Mowry, Clyde and Doris (Gene) Hart, St. Joe Michigan and two brothers, George "Bill" (Mary) Burroughs and Harry (Connie) Burroughs, both of Clyde.

She was preceded in death by a grandchild and a sister, Betty Klawitter and a brother, Arthur Burroughs.

Virginia graduated from Clyde High School in 1939.

She was active in the family farm, where she dearly enjoyed driving tractor. She was a member of the Green Springs VFW Auxiliary. Mrs Gilbert will be buried in Bakertown cemetery.

Elwood "Woody" Miller
September 02, 1922 - April 26, 2007
Bellevue, Ohio

Funeral Service: 1:30 pm April 30, 2007 at Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde

Mr. Miller was born in Chatfield, Ohio to the late Clarence and Gladys (Heter) Miller.

Survivors include two sons: Jan (Lois) TerVeen, Bellevue; Glenn E. (Melinda) Miller, Chesterfield, VA; and a daughter, Theresa (David) Gebhart, Newark, Ohio. Stepchildren: Cassie Jewel, Port Charlotte, Florida; Pamela Wilkinson, Reynoldsburg; Michael (Terri) Black, Bellevue along with six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. His faithful and caring companion, Betty Barnard of Bellevue also survives as does his sister-in-law, Marilyn Miller of Bellevue.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Miller and a half sister, Marjorie Bloom Webster and a stepson Ronald Lippert.

He graduated from York High School in 1940 and was a WWII Coast Guard Veteran. Woody was a member of Bellevue Elks; Bellevue Eagles; Bellevue VFW and Bellevue American Legion; Bellevue MOOSE; and the Amvets in Sandusky.

He was retired from the N&W; Railroad as a clerk and had previously worked at Philco and was the TV repairman.

Memorials To: the Bellevue Library or the Bellevue Elks.

Leon B. "Junior" Zieber
September 16, 1925 - May 15, 2007
Bellevue, Ohio

Funeral Service: 2:00 pm May 18, 2007 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Bellevue

Mr. Zieber was born in York Township, Sandusky County to the late Leon B. and Minnie (Dick) Zieber, Sr.

He is survived by two daughters: LaVohn (David) Hunter; Lisa (Tom) Yingling; two sons: Galen (Tammy) Zieber and Lee (Cindy) Zieber, all of Bellevue; eleven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. His special friend, Ann Shetzer survives in Fremont.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth I. (Warner) Zieber, whom he married on Feb. 19, 1946 and she preceded him on Feb. 26, 1994; two brothers, Olen Zieber and William Zieber and one sister, Thelma Nearhood.

He spent his life in the area, graduating from York High School in 1943. He was a farmer all of his life and drove school bus for Bellevue and York Schools for 25 years, substituting for an additional seven years.

Leon was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ, Bellevue; past president of the Generous Givers at the church; former Master of the York Grange; member of the Ohio State Grange and the National Grange; a delegate to the State Grange Convention; a member of the Sandusky Co., Farm Bureau; past president of the Town & County Farm Council; member of the Four County Young at Heart and had been involved for over 40 years in Western Square dancing.

Memorials To: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Choir Robe Fund at the church.

Dale K. "Pat" Elder
March 17, 1942 - June 11, 2007
Monroeville, Ohio

Mr. Elder was born in Detroit to the now deceased Dale Kermit Elder, Sr. and Frances Selina (Smith) Elder former Fireside residents.

He is survived by his wife, Carol (Close) Elder, whom he married on July 20, 1963; two sons, Dale Kermit Elder III (Kelly)of Pittsburgh, Pa; Erick Michael (Leigh Anne) Elder of Little Rock, Arkansas; four granddaughters: Mary Montana and Mary Grace Elder and Taylor and Faith Elder. Three brothers, Robert D. Elder, Bellevue; James F. (Ruthann) Elder, San Jose, CA; Michael C. (Janice) Elder, Sartoga, CA; and two sisters: Barbara (Carl) Thompson, Corona, CA; and Kay (Daryl) Koroluck, Riverside, CA.

He graduated from Thompson High School in 1960 and attended Heidelberg College. He retired as Superintendent of the NS Railroad Terminal in Bellevue in March 2000 after over twenty years of working in various railroad towns.

Pat was a member of the Lyme Congregational United Church of Christ; the Lyme Historical Village; the Bellevue RR Museum; the Bellevue Masonic Temple; the Bellevue Development Group; Bellevue Hospital Development Council; and had been President of the Local United Transportation Union, and also served in different positions in this Union.

Ted L. Metz
July 31, 1946 - June 18, 2007
Clyde, Ohio

Ted was born in Bellevue to the late Robert and Rose (Vitello) Metz.

Survivors include his wife, Donetta (Wittibslager) Metz, whom he married on January 24, 1987; a son, Christopher Metz, Clyde; and two daughters, Heidi (Steve) Meggitt, Green Springs; Heath (Rich) Orman, Lindsay; a stepson: Charles (Melanie) Zerman, Jr., Clyde and stepdaughter, Shelly (Ronald) Rine, Clyde. Grandchildren, Morgan; Tor; Brendan; Kesey; Kayla and Chelsea. A special daughter and grandson, Tiffany Leiter and Keaton also survive. A brother, Frank (Bobbitt) Metz, survives in Vermilion.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Heishman and a brother, Joseph Metz.

He had attended Thompson School. Ted was a member of the Clyde MOOSE and had served two terms as Governor. He was a member of the Fellowship in Legion of the MOOSE and a social member of the VFW. Prior to his retirement he had worked at Carbo Forge Tool and Die in Kingsway.

Memorials To: the Home Away From Home at St. Vincent or to the family.
