Born in Paulding County, she was a clerk at Mohr's Hardware in Scott and was a former substitute cook at Wayne Trace High School. Her husband, Arlo E., died in 1991. Surviving are two sons, Richard of Van Wert and Gary of San Jose, Calif.; a daughter, Sandra Kruty of Oji, Calif.; two brothers, Harlan Hooker of Tice, Fla., and Edward Hooker of Lima; a sister, Christina Johns of Lima; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

BERLIN L. MILLER, 74, died Friday at home. Born in Paulding County, he worked for the former Grizzly Manufacturing of Paulding from 1948 to 1965 and at Frank Harper Precision Tool of Paulding. He retired in 1990 from GM Powertrain of Defiance as a millwright after 25 years. He was a Korean War Army veteran. Surviving are his wife, Lois; a son, Louis of Defiance; a daughter, Joyce Hessel of Scott; four grandchildren; 16 step-children; many step-grandchildren; many step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Shirley Ann Robinett of Bryan and Clara June Willitzer of San Francisco, Calif.

She had also worked at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima Convalescent Center, Leader Department Store, Luggage Shoppe, Memorial Hospital, MCL Cafeteria in Bloomington and L.S. Ayres in Bloomington. She was secretary for Second Baptist Church, Lima. Surviving are two sons, Richard Archer of Caldwell, Idaho, and Terry Reynolds of Evansville; two daughters, Pamela Sullivan of Toledo and Patricia Reynolds of Lima; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
