William E. Head
(1921 - 2006)
FAYETTE - William E. Head, 85, of Fayette, died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at Harborside Healthcare Northwestern Ohio - Bryan.
Born Feb. 6, 1921, in Wauseon, to Amanda (Taylor) and Clifford Head, he married
Doris A. Walker on Oct. 24, 1942, at Angola, Ind. and she survives.
A lifelong farmer, he had also retired from Fayette Tubular in 1986 with over 25 years of service. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Connie Meadows of Wauseon and Karen Lavinder of Fayette; a son, Gary (and wife, Lynda) Head of Fayette; two sisters, Kathryn Borton and Helen Huston, both of Morenci, Mich.; a brother, Clifford (Lorraine) Head of Friendswood, Texas; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Phyllis Kibbee; a brother, Stanley Head; and two sons - in - law, Carl Meadows and Jerry Lavinder.
0Visitation will be held Saturday, June 17, from 9 - 10 a.m. in the Eagle Funeral Home, Fayette. Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 17, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Laura Saunders to officiate. Interment will be in Pleasant View Union cemetery, Fayette.
Memorials may be made to Gorham Fayette Fire and Rescue and Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties.
Betty Barnes
(1923 - 2006)
Betty Barnes, 82, of Bryan, died Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at Harborside Healthcare Northwestern Ohio - Bryan, where she had been a resident.
Born Dec. 2, 1923, at Bryan, she was the daughter of Lula (Lemon) and Franklin Davis.
An LPN at the Bryan Community Hospitals and Hillside Nursing Home until her retirement, she was an active member of the First Church of Christ, Bryan.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Marilyn) Sanders of Bryan and Mrs. Jeff (Jeanie) McCarty of Defiance; two sons, Charles (and wife, Tanya) Barnes and Thomas (Pam) Barnes, all of Bryan; a son - in - law, Jim Harrington of Seattle, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carol Ann Harrington; and a brother, Robert Davis.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 - 4 p.m. and from 6 - 8 p.m. in the Burr Funeral Home & Crematory, Bryan.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Revs. Larry Snavely and Dean Phillips to officiate. Burial will follow at the Fountain Grove cemetery, Bryan.
Memorials may be made to an agency of the donor's choice.
Gerald B. Pinette
(1941 - 2006)
ALVORDTON - Gerald P. Pinette, 64, of Alvordton, died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at the Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Montpelier.
Born Aug. 20, 1941, at Portage Lake, Maine, he was the son of Freda Y. (Condon) and Wilbert Joseph Pinette.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Alaska from 1959 - 1962, then continued with the Reserves until 1965. His past employments were with Matrix Tools of Bryan, the Ohio Turnpike near West Unity, Mohawk Manufacturing of Montpelier and Dalton Manufacturing in Stryker.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Virginia M. (Ostheimer) Pinette of Alvordton; two sons, Shawn (and wife, Janet) Pinette of Georgia and Scott (Tanya) Pinette of Maine; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Dave (Brenda) Borton of Alvordton; two stepsons, Ted Price of Nettle Lake and Jim Price of Fremont, Ind.; five sisters, Hilda R. Holmes of Santa Barbara, Calif., Wilberta Davis of Natick, Mass., Millie Tyler of Shreveport, La., Myrtle L. Van Arsdalen of West Unity and Annietta Rainez of Virginia; two brothers, Billy E. Pinette of Edgerton and Jackie Pinette of West Unity; many grandchildren and a few great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his sister, Geraldine Barnes, and his brother, Hanford L. Pinette.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant View Union cemetery, Fayette, with Dewayne Van Arsdalen to officiate.
Hollingshead - Beck Funeral Home of West Unity is in charge of services.

Leon E. Weaver
(1915 - 2006)
WAUSEON - Leon E. Weaver, 93, of Wauseon, died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at Harborside of Swanton.
Born June 12, 1915, in Montpelier, he was the son of Ruby (McDonald) and Earl Weaver.
Prior to his retirement, he had sold concessions at local carnivals and fairs.
He was a member of the First Church of God in Wauseon.
Surviving are a sister, Phyllis Beamer of Defiance, and a brother, William Weaver of Toledo. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Carl Weaver.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9 - 11 a.m. in the Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Fountain Grove cemetery, Bryan.
Memorials may be made to Harborside of Swanton.
Frances E. Noonan
(1918 - 2006)
Frances E. Noonan, 87, of Fort Wayne, Ind., and formerly of Bryan, died Friday, June 2, 2006, at the Heritage Park Nursing Home in Fort Wayne.
Born Sept. 3, 1918, at Terre Haute, Ind., to Ethel E. (Bevis) and French A. Roberts, she married
Richard E. Noonan and he preceded her in death.
A secretary for the 50 Corporation in Bryan for 12 years and the Bryan City Schools Clerk - Treasurers Office for 12 years, she had also worked at Challenge - Cook and First Federal Savings Bank.
Joining Wesley United Methodist Church in 1940, she was recognized as a 50 - year member in 1990 and was a member of the Wesleyan Circle. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Bryan, Bay View Study Club and the Williams County Genealogical Society.
Surviving are her children, Mrs. Neal (Judith) Rice of Markle, Ind., Mrs. Keith (Mary) Conklin of Clarkston, Mich., Mrs. Steven (Catherine) Blanchard of Indianapolis, Ind., Richard D. (and wife, Toi) Noonan of Vientiane, Laos, and David R. (Kathleen) Noonan of Toledo; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mrs. Donald (Phyllis) Dowis of Rochester, Mich.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clyde E. and Harlon G. Roberts; and a sister, Lois Carr.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 10 - 11 a.m. in the Oberlin - Ford Funeral Home, Bryan.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Dwight Bowers to officiate. Burial will follow in Shiffler cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church.
Gladwin J. 'Monk' Flory
WAUSEON - Gladwin J. "Monk" Flory, 91, of Wauseon, died Friday afternoon, June 2, 2006, at Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon.
Born in Wauseon to Lucinda (Buehrer) and Samuel Flory, he married
Kathryn "Pat" Murray and she preceded him in death in 1990. He married
Anna Semelka in 1992 and she survives.
A retired rural mail carrier with over 30 years of service, he also owned an excavating business for many years and was engaged in farming in Winimeg.
He attended First Christian Church, Wauseon, and was a Past Commander of the Wauseon American Legion Post 256, a charter member of Wauseon Elks Lodge 1734 and past exalted ruler of the Lodge. A World War II Army Staff Sergeant Intelligence Division 94th Army, he was a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Distinguished Service recipient. He was former Secretary of the Fulton County Veteran's Administration and a former Wauseon city council member. He also volunteered with numerous local charities including the delivery of Goodwill baskets.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Sam (and wife, Marji) Flory of Connecticut; stepsons, Fred (Pat) Semelka of Manitou Beach, Mich. and Ron (Jeanette) Semelka of Wauseon; grandchildren, Dan Brown, Steve Brown, Mrs. Chris (Carrie) Dobaczewski, Mrs. Mike (Rhonda) Fifer and Mrs. Andy (Gina) Fetter; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Connie Flory Brown; brothers, Curtis and Kenneth Flory; and a sister, Gladys Farker.
Visitation will be held today from 2 - 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until noon in the Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the First Christian Church, Wauseon, with the Rev. Mitch Maxted to officiate. Interment will follow in Zion cemetery, Wauseon.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, Wauseon.
William 'Bob' Robert Mizell
(1922 - 2006)
William "Bob" Robert Mizell, 84, of Bryan, died Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Harborside Healthcare Northwestern Ohio - Bryan.
Born Feb. 12, 1922, at McRae, Ark., he was the son of Zetta M. (Davis) and Samuel H. Mizell. Retired after 22 years as a manager in the food service industry and 15 years in the insurance industry, he was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 767 of Fort Wayne, was a Shriner of Mizpah Temple and a member of the Bryan Moose.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Don (Carol) Cravens of Bryan, Mrs. Keith (Janet Lee) Priest - Hill of Thomasville, Ga. and Mrs. Ron (Jacquiline) Jackson of Hammond, Ind.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Samual Howard Mizell Jr.; two sisters, June G. Mizell and Sarilda Pelhank; and a granddaughter, Jeannine Cravens - Cook.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. until noon in the Burr Funeral Home and Crematory.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at noon in the funeral home with the Rev. Rob Marrow to officiate. Burial will take place in the Fountain Grove cemetery, Bryan.

A. Dean Blair

HAMILTON, Ind. - A. Dean Blair, 80, of Hamilton, died Saturday, June 3, 2006, at DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn.
Born Oct. 9, 1925, at Hamilton, to Lydia (Bell) and Arthur Blair, he married
Garland Dohner on July 7, 1943, at the parsonage of the Methodist Church in Hamilton, and she survives.
A self - employed carpenter until 1982, he then became the building trades teacher for six years at Hamilton High School until his retirement in 1987.
He attended Hamilton Church of Christ in Hamilton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Steven (and wife, Carol) Blair of Hamilton and Ronald (Donna) Blair of Edgerton, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Judith) Baker of Hamilton; nine grandchildren, Keith (Debra) Blair, Matthew (Amy) Blair, Carissa Blair, Julia Sindel, Jim (Vicki) Blair, Mrs. Kevin (Brenda) Beck, Dawn Foglesong, Brandon Nickols and Blair (Chris) Richardson; 13 great-grandchildren; and a stepsister, Mrs. Arnold (Joyce) Schaper of Ossian.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William LaVon Blair; a grandson - in - law, Rodney Lee Sindel; and a sister, Mary Jane Blair.
Visitation will be held today from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Jeff Alexander to officiate. Burial will be in Eddy cemetery, Hamilton.
