Earl "Bud" E. Osborn
(1935 - 2006)
WEST UNITY - Earl "Bud" E. Osborn, 71, of West Unity, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident at County Roads O and 20.
Born June 13, 1935, at Paulding County, to Eleonora (Rohlf) and Earl Osborn, he married
Marilyn (Wells) Beals on Jan. 9, 2000, and she survives.
A retired truck driver, he had managed his own trucking business as well as being a farmer.
A 1953 graduate of Ayersville High School, he was a member of Pioneer Lions Club, Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 2233, First Presbyterian Church of Montpelier, Texas Longhorn Association and the Teamsters.
Surviving are a son, Mark (and wife, Sally) Osborn of Bryan; a daughter, Dawn Richards of Blue Creek; a stepson, Mark (Jennifer) Beals of Pioneer; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Al (Cathy) Semer of Pioneer; four grandchildren, Zoe Richards and Kiley, Korey and Shawn Osborn; a brother, Ronald Osborn of Defiance; three sisters, Mrs. Phil (Dorothy) Juillard of Basin, Wyo., Edith Chandler of Defiance and Beatrice Bendele of Wayne; five stepgrandsons and two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Joyce (Hootman) Osborn in 1997; a son, Dennis Osborn in 1978; and a brother, James Osborn.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1 - 7 p.m. in the Burr Funeral Home, Bryan, with the Lions Club holding a service at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church, Montpelier, with the Rev. David Tilly to officiate. Burial will follow at Fountain Grove cemetery, Bryan.
Memorials may be made to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Hospice program or to the donor's choice.
Velma M. Bauer
(1927 - 2006)
DEFIANCE - Velma M. Bauer, 79, of Defiance, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, at her residence.
Born Sept. 27, 1927, in Defiance County, to A. Mae (Relyea) and Carl R. Osborn, she married
Vernon R. "Red" Bauer on Sept. 13, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1996.
A homemaker, she had also worked at All Star Products.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, VFW No. 3360 Ladies Auxiliary and Eagles Auxiliary No. 372.
Surviving are two sons, Cliff (and wife, Sandra) Bauer of Defiance and Daniel (Lori) Bauer of Jewell; a daughter, Terry Raines of Ayersville; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Evelyn Bauer; a brother, Clifford Osborn; and a granddaughter.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Mast - Mock - Hoffman Funeral Home, Defiance. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Joe Chrisman to officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance County.
Memorials may be made to the church.
June J. Jozefowicz

MONTPELIER - June J. Jozefowicz, 74, of Montpelier, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, at Evergreen Manor, Montpelier, where she had been a resident the past week.
Born May 30, 1932, at Waterloo, Ind., to Victoria Josephine (Collett) and Hugh David Boyer, she married
Robert E. Jozefowicz on Aug. 2, 1986, at Columbia, and he survives.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Columbia Church of Christ, Columbia, and a former member of the Columbia Ladies Aide.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Nofziger of Pioneer, Mrs. Joe (LuAnn) Jerger and Mrs. Jerry (Wanda) Hug, both of Bryan; a son, Philip (and wife, Debbie) Moore of Columbia; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Alfred (Agnes) Suntken of Butler, Ind.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Eugene Moore; a granddaughter, Tara Jonell Jerger; two brothers, Donald Beard and Clarence Beard; and five sisters, Pauline Eck, Virginia Hart, Vivian Werner, Florence Lint and Dorothy Dunham.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3 - 8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, and Monday from 10 - 11 a.m. in the Columbia Church of Christ, Columbia.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the church with Minister Nathan Derico to officiate. Interment will follow in Columbia cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Columbia Church of Christ.
Audrey Eileen DuPont
(1928 - 2006)
DEFIANCE - Audrey Eileen DuPont, 78, of Defiance, died Wednesday evening, Oct. 18, 2006, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
Born Sept. 6, 1928, to Vearl Violet (Underwood) and Harold Vandemark, she married
Richard A. DuPont on Dec. 23, 1948, and he survives.
A licensed nurse, she had worked for 22 years at the Defiance Clinic office of Dr. Boomer in Defiance. She was also the manager of DuPont Plumbing and Heating in Defiance for 25 years.
She was the salutatorian of the Defiance High School Class of 1946 and was a graduate from the University of Toledo Nursing School.
A member of St. John Lutheran Church, Defiance, and its Ladies Aid and Ladies Auxiliary, she was also a member of the Defiance Squares Square Dancing Club, Defiance Elks and several card clubs in the Defiance area.
She was also a 25 - year breast cancer survivor and a homemaker.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Richard F. (and wife, Sue) DuPont of Defiance; a daughter, Mrs. Will (Mary Lynette) Nofzinger of Stryker; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Harold (Francias) Vandemark of Defiance.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Eugene Vandemark; a sister, Mildred Bonhard; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Mast - Mock - Hoffman Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Monday at noon in the funeral home with the Rev. Donald L. Luhring to officiate. Burial will follow in Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society and the church.
Pablo C. Perez
(1928 - 2006)
STRYKER - Pablo C. Perez, 77, of Edgerton, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, at Parkview Nursing Home, Edgerton.
Born Oct. 27, 1928, at San Antonio, Texas, to Trini (Cortenas) and Anselmo Perez, he married
Felicta G. Garcia and she preceded him in death in 1994.
Prior to retirement, he had worked as a supervisor at the Bryan Annex and had also been a foreman at Sauder Manufacturing in Archbold.
He was a member of the Victory Barn Church in Edgerton, where he had served as an elder. He also served as a pastor for the La Hermoso Church in Bryan for several years in the late 1980s. Surviving are his three daughters, Mrs. Abraham (Eva) Canales of Edgerton, Josephine Suarez of Texas and Jane Donnely of Illinois; four sons, Adam (and wife, Roma Lee) Perez of Edgerton, Pablo (Carlota) Perez Jr. and David (Janie) Perez, both of Stryker, and Ernest Perez of Bryan; 35 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mona Valdez and Suzie Compa, both of Texas; and two brothers, Mike Perez and Felancio Perez, both of Texas.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Angel Perez; three brothers, Carlos, Soloman and Pompelo Perez; a sister, Margie Perez; a granddaughter, Ninfa Canolez; and great-granddaughter, Erica Lynn Delgado.
Memorial funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Victory Barn Church, Edgerton, with Pastor Rosene Short to officiate. Interment will be in the Oakwood cemetery, Stryker. There will be no visitation. Grisier Funeral Home, Stryker, is in charge of arrangements.
Charles E. Cope
(1929 - 2006)
Charles E. Cope, 77, of Bryan, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan.
Born July 12, 1929, in Neosho, Mo., he was the son of Erma Clarice (Honeycutt) and Clyde Cope. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a car salesman for Poinsette Motors in Fort Wayne for several years. He was a member of the Neosho American Legion Post 163.
Surviving are a special friend, Elsie Gray of Bryan; daughters, Mrs. Joe (Sheri) Bissonnette and Tamara Cope, both of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a son, John D. Cope of Auburn, Ind.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold "Dean" (and wife, Betty) Cope; and life - long friend, John Carter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Wanda Sommers.
Visitation will be Monday from 10 - 11 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan.
Memorials services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Father Charles Ritter to officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church or to the American Heart Association.
Norman Herder
(1926 - 2006)
HAMILTON, Ind. - Norman L. Herder, 80, of Hamilton and formerly of Defiance, Ohio, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at the Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Born July 16, 1926, at Defiance, to Iva (Pace) and Lawrence P. Herder, he married
Josephine Stegall on Dec. 31, 1994, and she survives.
A World War II Army Air Force veteran, he had served the city of Defiance from 1955 - 1980 as a police officer, retiring as chief of police.
After his retirement, he resided at Hamilton Lake in the summer and Harlingen, Texas, in the winter. A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, he was also a member of the American Legion in the state of Texas, Fraternal Order of Police, Chief of Police Association, and a life member of VFW Post No. 3360 and Elks.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Norman "Jim" (and wife, Shelley) Herder of Farmer; a daughter, Ginny L. Fisher of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three stepsons, Andrew Galambos of Atlanta, Ga., Jim (Pat) Galambos of Bristol, Ill. and Joe Galambos of Hamilton; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Murphy (Diane) Smith of Atlanta, Ga.; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; six stepgrandchildren; a brother, Ronald P. Herder of Lakeland, Fla.; and a sister, Fern Scholte of Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Virginia Hesselschwert Herder; a daughter, Susan Herder; a brother, Robert Herder; and a stepson, Steven Galambos.
Visitation will be Saturday from 5 - 8 p.m. and Sunday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Mast - Mock - Hoffman Funeral Home, Defiance.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Deacon George Newton to officiate. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Defiance, with VFW graveside rites by Post 3360.
Alexandrine "Alex" R. Haskin
COLDWATER, Mich. - Alexandrine "Alex" R. Haskins, 91, of Coldwater, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home, Montpelier, Ohio.
Among her survivors is a daughter, M. Jane Kwader of Pioneer, Ohio.
Arrangements are pending at the Gillespie Funeral Home in Coldwater. Thompson Funeral Homes is handling local arrangements.
Cynthia Cliffton
(1950 - 2006)
Cynthia Diane Cliffton, 55, of Bryan, died Tuesday evening, Oct. 17, 2006, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Bryan.
Born Dec. 16, 1950, at Bryan, to Mary (Gerencser) and Paul Daugherty, she married
Walter Cliffton on Oct. 23, 1987, at Bryan, and he survives.
An associate at C.E. Electronics in Bryan for 20 years, she attended both the Trinity Lutheran Church and First Baptist Churches in Bryan.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, Ryan S. (and wife, Amy Rausch - Huffman) Huffman of Stryker, Brock R. Huffman of Williams Center and Mark B. Huffman of Bryan; grandsons, Arik D. and Kaleb D. Huffman of Stryker; her father and stepmother, Paul and Mildred Daugherty of Bryan; mother and stepfather, Mary and William Babinger of Hicksville; a brother, Stanton Daugherty of Armonk, N.Y.; a sister, Sherri Green of Bryan; stepbrother, Ed Porath of Sherwood; and stepsisters, Linda Caryer of Sherwood, Sheri McCoy of Defiance and Sally Rast of Portsmouth, Va.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Burr Funeral Home & Crematory, Bryan.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with the Revs. Richard Buchsteiner and John MacFarlane to officiate. Burial will follow in Farmer cemetery.

Norma M. Grim

Norma M. Grim, 86, of Bryan, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at Hillside Country Living, Bryan, where she had been a resident.
Born May 11, 1920, at Albany, Ind., to Ida (Dillon) and James Mathias, she married
Wayne Grim on July 10, 1953, at Angola, Ind., and he preceded her in death on July 25, 1998.
A beautician, she had owned and operated the former Nikki Sue's Beauty Shop in Bryan for over 20 years. She also had worked at Uhlman's Department Store in Bryan and in the office at Harvester in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Keith (Sue) Winebar of Edgerton; grandchildren, Mrs. Tom (Nikki) Gearhart, Robert Snyder, Joe Snyder, Mrs. Oakley (Mindy) Roberts and Erika Winebar; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Robert Snyder; four brothers and four sisters. Visitation will be Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Bill Priest to officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove cemetery, Edgerton.
Memorials may be made to the Edgerton Public Library or to the Villages at Hillside Country Living.
Dorothy L. Johnson
(1937 - 2006)
MONTPELIER - Dorothy L. Johnson, 69, of Montpelier, died Tuesday morning, Oct. 17, 2006, at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier, where she had resided since Oct. 6, following a battle with cancer.
Born Feb. 25, 1937, at McConnellsburg, Pa., to Zelda (Mellott) and John Harris, she married
Harold Johnson on Aug. 31, 1957, and he survives.
A resident of Jackson, Mich., until moving to Archbold in 1985 and then to Montpelier in 1995, she worked at Crown & Carriage Gifts and Consumers Power Company, both at Jackson, and then she and her husband owned and operated the Archbold Lanes from 1985 to 1990.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Stephan (and wife, Anita) Johnson of Sterling Heights, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Larry D. (Mary) Miller of Archbold; five grandchildren; and a brother, Ronald (Eleanor) Harris of Ft. Loudon, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 - 9 p.m. in the Short Funeral Home, Archbold.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Archbold Evangelical Mennonite Church with Pastors Brad Bame and Stuart Rex to officiate. Interment will follow in the Pettisville cemetery.
