Steven C. Wicker
Steven C. Wicker, age 43, of Fremont, Indiana, died Friday, April 2, 2004 in Monterrey, Mexico while on vacation. Mr. Wicker was a self employed truck driver and an avid golfer. He attended the Fremont Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness.
Steven Craig Wicker was born July 24, 1960 in Lima, Ohio, the son of Melvin and Oma (Handshoe) Wicker. He married
Peggy Shirely on May 16, 1998 in Butler, Indiana and she survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Melissa Anthonysamy, and Kristen Wicker, both of Fremont, Indiana, one son, Steven Michael Wicker, of Fremont, Indiana, three step-children Daniel and Donald Dennis, of Butler, Indiana, Alyssa Dennis, of Fremont, Indiana, and four grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers, Franklin Nester, of Fremont, Indiana, Woodrow Wicker and Babe Wicker, of Houston, Texas, and Cloyd Wicker of Butler, Indiana, two sisters, Judy Stark, of Lima, Ohio, and Teresa Kay Waterman, of Angola, Indiana.. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Melvin Darrell and Bobby Gene Wicker and one sister, Frieda Joyce Wicker.
Services for Steven C. Wicker will be Saturday, April 10, 2004 at 11:00 a.m.(Ohio Time) in the Krill Funeral Home in Edon, Ohio. Burial will follow in Powers cemetery near Angola, Indiana. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Edon, from 4 - 8 p.m. (Ohio Time) on Friday, April 9.

Frieda Mae Weaver
Frieda Mae Weaver, age 75, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 11:55 a.m. Thursday, January 1, 2004, at Harborside Healthcare of Northwest Ohio, Bryan, after an extended illness. Mrs. Weaver was a production worker for Allied Moulded Products, Inc. for many years and was a member of the Melbern United Methodist Church.
Frieda Mae Weaver was born on August 9, 1928, in Pettisville, Ohio, the daughter of Harmon and Mary (Mast) Riegsecker. She married
Norman E. Weaver on November 28, 1953, in Fayette, Ohio, and he preceded her in December of 2000.
Mrs. Weaver is survived by one son, Michael Weaver, of Bryan, Ohio, two granddaughters, Crystal and Heather Weaver, of Bonner Springs, Kansas, one brother, Harold Riegsecker, of Delta, Ohio, daughter - in - law, Rhonda Weaver, of Bonner Springs, Kansas, and two step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Weaver, one sister, Mabel Wyse, and one brother, Kenneth Riegsecker.
Memorial services for Frieda Mae Weaver will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2004, at 1:30 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio, with Pastor Diane Schaffner officiating. Interment will be in Brown cemetery, Bryan, Ohio. There will be no visitation.

June L. (Fifer) Gilbert
June L. (Fifer) Gilbert, died peacefully in her sleep on New Year's Day at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, following a brief illness. She was born on Edon, Ohio, on April 7, 1935, to Lewis and Mildred (Matthews) Fifer. A lifelong resident of Williams County, she currently made her home just outside of Bryan. June was an active, hard - working woman who enjoyed various positions with her employer of several years, Williams County. She also took great pleasure in maintaining her home. From painting to gardening, and all points in - between, she prided herself on keeping a home that was welcoming to friends and family. Outside of the workplace, and in absence of any home projects, June relished her roles of mother and grandmother. Family was always first with June and remained so up to the time of her death.
She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Laurie (Tom) Meyers of Perrysburg, Ohio, and a son, Scott (Stephanie) Gilbert of Noblesville, Indiana, who love her greatly and will miss her. Her grandchildren, Allison, Wyatt and Olivia Gilbert of Noblesville, Indiana, and Meghan and Zachary Meyers of Perrysburg, Ohio, also survive her. Grammy Gilbert liked to spoil the grandkids when she could, and they will miss her presence in their life. She also leaves to hold dear many special times together sister - in - law, Hazel Fifer, of Edon, Ohio, and special friends, Bob and Linda Dilllworth and family, of Montpelier, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Lewis Fifer, Jr.
Funeral services for June L. Gilbert will be held on Monday, January 5, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, with Pastor Daniel Gallagher officiating. Interment will follow in Edon cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Gilbert will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2004, from 3 - 7 p.m.

Charlotte R. (Triplett) Benson
Charlotte R. (Triplett) Benson, age 73, of Norwalk, died Friday, February 13, 2004 at her residence in Norwalk, after an extended illness.
She was born January 24, 1931 in Clay County, WV. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Norwalk and a 25 year volunteer at Fisher - Titus Medical Center in Norwalk. She enjoyed visiting nursing homes, sending cards, friends and spending time with her family and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Donald E. Benson of Norwalk; daughters and sons - in - law, Cheryl (Rodney) Owens of Grove City, OH and Barbara (Tom) Burger of Norwalk; son and daughter - in - law, Michael (Dawn) Benson of Norwalk; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister and brother - in - law, Vera (David) Rathbone of Congress, OH; brothers and sisters - in - law, Jack (Carleen) Triplett of Vero Beach, FL and Gerald (Mary) Triplett of Sommersville, WV; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Fannie (Atkins) Triplett; brothers, James and John Triplett; sister, Reedith Lewis.
Friends may call on Monday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 P.M. at the Evans & Groff Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, OH. A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in the funeral home. The Rev. Paul Lamb, pastor of First Baptist Church in Norwalk, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul cemetery in Norwalk, Ohio.

Irene E. (Reeves) Bleile
Irene E. (Reeves) Bleile, 91, of Norwalk, died Saturday, May 08, 2004 at Fisher - Titus Medical Center in Norwalk following a recent illness.
She was born August 24, 1912 in Ridgeland, SC and moved to Norwalk after marrying Paul E. Bleile in 1929.
Irene was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Firelands Historical Society, Little Flower Study Club, Little Garden Club, The Willowdale Farmwomen’s Club and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a volunteer for the Christie Lane School and the Fisher - Titus Auxiliary. In 1993 the City of Norwalk awarded Irene and husband, Paul, with the Distinguished Americans Award.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Bleile Baltes of Norwalk; sons and daughters - in - law, Donald and Shirley of Norwalk, Robert and Mary of Sandusky, Thomas and Lorraine of Norwalk, Steve and Jackie of Sarasota, FL. Irene is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; sisters, Trudy, Betty, Sally and Barbara all of South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Bleile in 1994; parents, Dr. Hubert J. Reeves and Rose (Berg) Reeves Woods; brothers, Hubert, Wilber and Lamar; sisters, Viola, Julia, Louise and Margie; two grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 – 8 P.M. followed by a scripture service at 8:30 P.M. at the Evans & Groff Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A Mass will be held 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
Burial will follow at St. Paul Catholic cemetery in Norwalk.

Gloria H. (Hackathorn) Boes
Gloria H. (Hackathorn) Boes, age 63, of Norwalk, was surrounded by her family in her home as she took her last breath on earth, and her first steps into heaven.
She was born October 18, 1940 in Adrian, MI. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, St. Mary Catholic Church in Norwalk and it’s altar and rosary society, Eucharistic Minister and reader, Renew Small Group, Daughters of Isabella, St. Gerard Study Club and served four terms on the St. Mary Elementary School Board. She also worked at Tenneco Automotive in Milan for 19 years.
She is survived by her four sons and daughters - in - law, Gene - o (June) Boes of Seattle, WA, Leo (Wendy) Boes of Sullivan, OH, Gerard Boes of Missoula, MT, and Aaron (Carrie) Boes of Attica, OH; her six daughters, Geralyn (David) Kiser of Houston, TX, Shelli Cannon of Norwalk, OH, Gloria (Bob) Bjurstrom of Seattle, WA, Rosalie (Dennis) Smith of Norwalk, OH, April Boes of Seattle, WA and Juliann Boes of Hawaii; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sisters, Lee “Cookie” Piriczky of St. Simons Island, GA, Merrianne (Dave Buchanan) Hackathorn of Worthington, OH; brother, Dennis (Stephanie) Hackathorn of Tall Timbers, MD; brother - in - law, John Hepp of Tiffin, OH; sister - in - law, Helen Hackathorn of Norwalk, OH.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo C. Boes Sr. in 2003; parents, George Hackathorn in 1963 and Ruth (Reising) Hackathorn in 2000; sister, Kathleen Hepp in 1991; brother, Thomas Hackathorn in 1985.
Friends may call from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 P.M. Friday at the Evans & Groff Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, OH. A Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 38 W. League Street, Norwalk. The Rev. Norbert Howe and Nelson G. Beaver will officiate.

Rose Murial (Derby) Bowlin
Rose Murial (Derby) Bowlin, age 89, of Norwalk, died Monday, January 19, 2004 at Twilight Gardens Nursing Center in Norwalk.
She was born February 1, 1914 in Milan, Ohio. She attended College in St. Paul, Minnesota and moved to Norwalk in 1950. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Norwalk and Queen Esther Chapter #15.
She is survived by her daughter, Alice Broughton of Eubank, KY; son, Stewart Bowlin of Norwalk, OH; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl F. Bowlin in 1985; parents, Kenneth Derby in 1975 and May Derby in 1950; son in infancy, Stephen; brothers, Robert Derby and Judge Donald Derby in 1991.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 1:00 P.M. at the Evans & Groff Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. The Rev. Paul Lamb will officiate.
Burial will follow at Milan cemetery in Milan, Ohio.
Dawson Boyd
Dawson Boyd, age 66, of Norwalk, died Saturday, March 13, 2004 at Fisher - Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, after an unexpected illness.
He was born May 21, 1937 in Dana, Kentucky. He worked at Ford Motor Co. for many years as an inspector. He served in the US Air Force from 1955 until 1959.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy A. (Phillips) Boyd of Norwalk; mother, Emma (Hall) Boyd of Frankfort, KY; sons, Noah Lee Boyd of Sullivan, OH, Dawson Boyd Jr. of South Amherst, OH and Charles “Bud” Boyd of Elyria, OH; step-children, Ron and Gary Butler, Okie Conn, Connie Ezell, and Teresa Allgauer; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Brenda Justice and Glema Collins, both of Frankfort, KY; brother, Ray Boyd of Frankfort, KY.
He was preceded in death by his father, Delza Boyd in 1972.
Friends may call on Monday from 3 – 5 and 7 – 9 P.M. at the Evans & Groff Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. The body will lie in state Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. at Mount Harvest Church of God, 150 Ohio 113, Milan, Ohio. The Revs. Carl Woodyard, Gene Roberts and Ricky Akers will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn cemetery in Norwalk with military honors.

Gerald Brant
Gerald Brant, age 60, of New London, died Friday, May 07, 2004 at Akron City Hospital after a sudden illness.
He was born February 5, 1944 in Sandusky, Ohio. He was a truck driver for Bell Dairy, West Baking, W.L. Mead, Yellow Freight and R & L Trucking. In January 2004 he received the million mile safety award at R & L Trucking, after 10 years of driving. He served in the Army Reserves from 1963 until 1967.
He enjoyed cooking, traveling out West, fishing, collecting guns and was a proficient fast - draw, and spending time with his grandchildren whom he dearly loved.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (Hartke) Brant of New London; children and their spouses, Ann - Marie (Alan) Kerr of Bellevue, John (Susie) Brant of Huron, and Scott Brant of Norwalk; Step children, Tina (Cecil) Ochs of Dieterich, IL and Thomas Board of New London; four grandchildren, Corey and Katelyn Henning, Aledia Brant and Madison Brant; step-grandchildren, Justin, Tabitha, Amie and Laura Michels, Lea and Dylan Board; numerous nieces and nephews.

Joan E. (Richards) Balluck
Joan E. (Richards) Balluck, age 75, of Norwalk, died Thursday, January 13, 2005 at Norwalk Memorial Home in Norwalk.
She was born June 17, 1929, in Youngstown to the late Samuel and Frieda (Brobander) Richards.
She received her bachelor's and master's degree in education from Youngstown University and taught elementary school for more than 30 years. She began her teaching career in the Cleveland schools and then taught in the country of Venezuela. Returning to Struthers, she taught both first and second grade at the Fifth Street and Sexton Street schools before retiring. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Struthers.
She is survived by her children, Allison Lynn (Chris) Reagan of Norwalk and Kyle Richard (Leah) Balluck of Burke, Va.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death on Nov. 13, 1991 by her husband, Leonard, whom she married
Feb. 3, 1962.
