Alma P. Moore
(1912 - 2006)
MONTPELIER - Alma P. Moore, 94, of Montpelier, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at Hillside Country Living, Bryan.
Born March 27, 1912, in Freedom Township, Henry County, she was the daughter of Mary (Haase) and Dietrich Hogrefe.
A 1923 graduate of Napoleon High School, she then attended Robinwood School of Nursing in Toledo.
A licensed practical nurse, she worked at Napoleon Hospital and then at Williams County General Hospital in Montpelier, now Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Montpelier, for many years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Montpelier.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Susann) Mick of Montpelier; a son, Kent W. Clapp of Avon Lake; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Harry (Eliese) Moore of Waldron, Mich., and Mrs. Frank (Eileen) Carpenter of Miami, Fla.; two stepsons, Allen (and wife, Joyce) Moore and Richard (Janet) Moore, both of Winterhaven, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Wilbur Clapp in 1969; second husband, Marion Moore in 1995; three sisters, Johanna Homan, Helen Miller and Marie Brown; and three brothers, Lewis, Albert and Paul Hogrefe.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor John H. Crilley to officiate. Interment will be at Riverside cemetery, Montpelier.
Memorials may be made to the church.
Kenneth E. Short
ARCHBOLD - Kenneth E. Short, 87, of Archbold, died Friday at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.
Among his survivors is his wife, Ada.
Arrangements are pending at Short Funeral Home.
Donald Lamar Myers
(1917 - 2006)
BUTLER, Ind. - Donald Lamar Myers, 88, of Hamilton died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, at the Laurels of DeKalb, Butler.
Born Nov. 23, 1917 at York Township, Ind. to Ethel (Burch) and Alva Myers, he was married
to Chloe Nickols on Aug. 17, 1940, and she preceded him in death.
A 1937 graduate of Hamilton High School, he worked for Dana Corporation as a machinist and also worked as a farmer.
Surviving are three sons, Nick (and wife Anne) Myers of Chandler, Ariz., Kirby (Karen) Myers and Gary (Jan) Myers, both of Hamilton; a sister, Thelma Hill of Markle, Ind.; six grand - children, and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Howard, Merle and Raymond Myers.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. at Oberlin - Ford Funeral Home, Hamilton, Ind.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. David Leitzel officiating. Burial will follow at Eddy cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wesleyan Church Event Center Building Fund, or to the agency of the donor's choice.
Helen M. (Dunham) Barksdale
DESTIN, Fla. - Helen M. (Dunham) Barksdale, 97, of Destin, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2006, at Destin, following an illness.
A former resident of Northwest Township in Williams County, Ohio, she had been a long - time Florida resident.
Among survivors are two daughters, Janice DeGraw and Marjorie Aguair, and a grandson, Jeffrey Kiess.
Funeral service arrangements are pending at the Wilson - Geesey Funeral Home, Montpelier.
Leonard C. Andrews
(1930 - 2006)
BUTLER, Ind. - Leonard C. Andrews, 76, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, at his residence.
Born June 2, 1930, at Montpelier, Ohio, to Donna M. (Coutz) and Cleo Andrews, he married
Bette L. Wilcox on April 26, 1972, at Auburn, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 24, 1999. He had been employed at Weatherhead Corporation in Antwerp, Ohio, for 15 years and Ingersoll - Rand in Bryan, Ohio, for 15 years.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Dan (Lisa) Bennett of Montpelier, Ohio, Mrs. Tom (Lori) Haase of Auburn and Mrs. Tom (Alane) Matthews of Montpelier, Ohio; five sons, Terry (and wife, Jude) Andrews of Cochise, Ariz., Larry (Karen) Andrews of Benson, Ariz., Gary (Ronda) Andrews of Butler, Rick Andrews of Granger and Faron Cluster of Japan; 16 grandchildren; and two brothers, Donald Andrews of Montpelier, Ohio, and Harold Andrews of Michigan.
There are no services or calling. Arrangements are by H.E. Johnson & Son Funeral Home, Butler.
Charles Robert Orick
(1932 - 2006)
EDGERTON - Charles Robert Orick, 74, of Edgerton, died early Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, at the Dilworth Center, Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Montpelier, where he was a patient.
Born June 2, 1932, at Pruden, Tenn., to Mary May (Adkins) and Elvin Orick, he married
Carol Jean Farley on May 25, 1973, at Edgerton, and she survives.
He was a production operator at Edgerton Metal Products until his retirement in 1994 with 35 years of service.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Gerald (and wife, Theresa) Orick of Edgerton; two daughters, Mrs. Bob (Cathy) Owsley of Butler, Ind., and Janet Friedel of Angola, Ind.; a stepson, Mike Hayes of Hindman, Ky.; two stepdaughters, Angela Keegan of Edgerton and Karen Mosley of Hindman, Ky.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Verlin Orick of St. Mary's; and four sisters, Pearl Walker, Retha Shell, Judy Beagle and Evelyn Teague, all of St. Mary's.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Benjamin Friedel, seven brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be Saturday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. Services will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Rose Lewis and Pastor Elmer Davis to officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove cemetery, Edgerton.

William Lewis Armstrong

William Lewis Armstrong, 78, of Bryan, died early Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, at his home after an illness of three years.
Born Nov. 10, 1927, at Sydney, to Myrtle A. (Schaffer) and William E. Armstrong, he married
Virginia Shiplett on June 28, 1947, at Angola, Ind., and she survives.
Employed by Simpson Industries in Edon as a shift supervisor, he retired in 1990 with 20 years of service.
A veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II from 1945 - 1947, he formerly was a longtime member of Bryan Eagles Aerie No. 2283.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, William E. (and wife, Maryory) Armstrong of San Diego, Calif. and Thomas E. Armstrong of Bryan; two daughters, Deborah S. Thiel (Rich Green) of Hillsdale, Mich. and Karen Armstrong of Montpelier; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Pat Hay of Bryan, Shirley M. Tibbs of Angola, Ind. and Mrs. Steve (Linda K.) Welmer of Bradenton, Fla.; three brothers, Earl (Evelyn) Armstrong of Hamilton, Ind., Gene (Diane) Armstrong of Perry and Larry (Kay) Armstrong of Clear Lake, Ind.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Glenna Derringer and Eileen Armstrong; and a nephew, Timothy Beck.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Earl Armstrong to officiate. Interment will follow in Columbia cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by Edon American Legion Post No. 662.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Virge F. Rupp
(1911 - 2006)
ARCHBOLD - Virge Fern Rupp, 94, of Archbold, died early Thursday morning, Nov. 2, 2006, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home, Archbold.
Born Dec. 7, 1911, near Wauseon, to Hattie (Kigar) and John Graf, she married
John H. Rupp on Sept. 7, 1933, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 21, 1984.
A lifelong resident of the Fayette - Archbold area, she was a homemaker and a member of the Archbold Evangelical Mennonite Church.
Surviving are two sons, James (and wife, Mary Jane) Rupp and Roger (Ruthann) Rupp, both of Fayette; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Carol) Smith of Cincinnati, Margaret Rupp of Archbold and Mrs. Kenneth (Patricia) Frey of Pettisville; 18 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard Rupp; two infant grandchildren; three brothers, Lloyd Graf, Joy Graf and Kenneth Graf; and a sister, Faye Reed.
Visitation will be today from 2 - 9 p.m. in the Fairlawn Chapel.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Archbold Evangelical Mennonite Church with Pastor Stuart Rex and Pastor Charles Zimmerman to officiate. Interment will precede in the Lauber Hill cemetery near Archbold. Short Funeral Home, Archbold, is in charge of arrangements.

Bessie L. Schultz (1910 - 2006)
ARCHBOLD - rsing Home, Archbold, where she had resided since 2002. Born Sept. 1, 1910, near Fayette, to Ella (Schang) and Amos Spengler, she married
Russell Schultz in May 1932, and he preceded her in death on May 17, 1987.
A lifelong resident of the Fayette - Archbold area, she was a homemaker and was a volunteer Cherry Coat at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon.
She was a member of St. John's Christian Church in Archbold.
Surviving are two sons, Lowell (and wife, Pat) Schultz of Wauseon and Larry (Holly) Schultz of Emerald Isle, N.C.; two daughters, Louise Short and Mrs. Paul (Joan) Lovejoy, both of Archbold; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister - in - law, Isabel Spengler of Swanton. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Carol Jean Schultz and Arlene Lovejoy; two sons - in - law, Donald Short and William Lovejoy; a brother, Wayne Spengler; and two sisters, Edith Rupp and Doris Miller.
Visitation will be today from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Short Funeral Home, Archbold.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. John's Christian Church with Pastor Erich Christman and Pastor Theodore Lovejoy to officiate. Interment will follow in St. James Lutheran cemetery near Archbold.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Christian Church or Fairlawn Haven.
Julian L. ÔBud' Chevillot
(1931 - 2006)
HAMILTON, Ind. - Julian L. "Bud" Chevillot, 75, of Hamilton, died Monday morning, Oct. 31, 2006, at his residence.
Born July 14, 1931, at Fort Wayne, to Martha (Platter) and Louis Chevillot, he married
Eleanor Hagerty on June 23, 1956, at Pleasant Lake, and she survives.
Employed at Foamex in Auburn in the Shipping and Receiving Department prior to his retirement, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, and American Legion Post 257 in Fremont.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter - in - law, Judy Stytle of Dorton, Ky.; grandchildren, James Stytle of Crawfordsville, Mrs. James (Maggi) Easterling of Dorton, Ky.; a great-granddaughter, Madalyn Shayne Easterling of Dorton; a brother, Richard Chevillot of New Haven; sisters, Connie Clem and Pat Beeks, both of New Haven; and a brother - in - law, Roy Johnson of Williams Center, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Robert Stytle; a brother, Paul Chevillot; and sister, Joan Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Kayla Raye (Colegrove) McKey
(1946 - 2006)
BRYAN - Kayla Raye (Colegrove) McKey, 60, of Bryan, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, at her daughter's residence.
Born March 12, 1946, at Morenci, Mich., she was the daughter of Edna May (Gay) and Sylvanias Ray Colegrove.
She had retired from Shaffers Restaurant after working for 15 years as a waitress.
Surviving are two daughters, Janie Salinas of Bryan and Amy Steffel of Continental; two sons, Joseph Decker of Los Angeles, Calif. and Larry Wentz of Fayette; two grandchildren, Tabitha Snyder and Nathen Steffel; and a great-grandchild, Tatum Snyder.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a previous husband, Fred Merillat; two brothers, John and Phillip Shadbolt; and a sister, Patricia Sebring.
Private family services will be held.
