John Vanover
(1939 - 2007)
John Ross Vanover, 67, of West Unity, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
Born March 9, 1939, in Whitley City, Ky. to M. Josie (Head) and Herbert Vanover, he worked first for Aro Corporation for over 15 years and then at Defiance Precision Products for over 17 years before retiring in 2001. An Army veteran, he was a member of the Eagles of both Defiance and Bryan, as well as a union member. He was also an honorable member of the Order of Kentucky Colonels and American Legion Post 115 of Sterns, Ky.
He is survived by two sons, John H. (and wife Teresa) Vanover of Montpelier and Anthony Vanover of Montpelier; two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Shandon) Moore of Payne and Megan Josette Sutton of West Unity; fourteen grandchildren, Angela, John, Rachelle, Miranda, Zach, Riley, Ellie, Eli, Samuel, Josh, Rhea, Olivia, Alexis and Eliyahs, and one great-grandson, Hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Christopher and Raymond Vanover; two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3 - 7 p.m. at Burr Funeral Home and Crematory in Bryan. Interment at the family cemetery in Kentucky will be at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Order of Kentucky Colonels.
Rosalie 'Rosey' Entenman Hoeming
(1942 - 2006)
LAKE PANASOFFKEE, Fla. - Rosalie "Rosey" Entenman Hoeming, 64, of Lake Panasoffkee and formerly of Williams County, Ohio, died unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006.
Born Oct. 30, 1942, at Auburn, Ind., she was the daughter of Doris and Howard Thilmar.
She had attended Edgerton High School and had been employed at the Universal in Butler, Ind.; a fertilizer company in Edgerton, Ohio; Park View Nursing Home, Edgerton as an STNA; Key Plastics of Montpelier, Ohio; Powers and Sons, Montpelier; and had owned E & E Transportation. She had also volunteered for many organizations.
She was a member of the Lake Panasoffkee VFW; Fraternal Order of Eagles, Montpelier, Ohio; the Moose Lodge of Montpelier and Lake Panasoffkee; the American Legion in Florida; and an adopted member of the Bryan Amvets.
She was the widow of Norm Hoeming.
Surviving are her children, Jeanne Roger of Lake Panasoffkee; Timothy Myers of Huntington, Ind., and April Entenman - Arndt of Bryan, Ohio; granddaughter, Paige Arndt; a brother, Larry Thilmar of Nettle Lake, Ohio; and her mother, Doris Thilmar of Hamilton, Ind.
A service will be held Saturday, Jan. 20, at 3:30 p.m., with a remembrance meal to follow, at the Bryan Amvets.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Amvets of Bryan in care of the Women's Auxiliary.
Ella F. Miller
(1915 - 2006)
WAUSEON - Ella F. Miller, 91, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold, where she had resided since September 2004.
Born March 23, 1915, near Archbold, she was the daughter of Emma (Nofziger) and Soloman Short. On Sept. 16, 1937, she married
Cletus Miller, and he survives.
A lifelong resident of the Archbold/Wauseon area, she was a homemaker and helped in the family poultry farm for many years. Ella and her husband served as mission workers at the Holland Mennonite Church and helped build the first educational spiritual center at the Maumee Valley Boys Camp. A member of the North Clinton Mennonite Church in Wauseon, she delivered Meals - On - Wheels for many years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. David (Bonnie) Blosser of Pettisville; a daughter - in - law, Mrs. Meredith (Eloise) Yoder of Archbold; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille Short of Stryker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, LaMar Miller, a great grandson, Andrew Blosser, three sisters, Wilma Short, Rosa Nafziger and Lillian King.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Fairlawn Chapel. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Pettisville cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the North Clinton Mennonite Church with Pastors Brad Faler and Gary Blosser officiating.
The Short Funeral Home in Archbold is in charge of the arrangements.
Dovelda I. Gossman
DEFIANCE - Dovelda I. Gossman, 95, of Van Buren, Ark., and formerly of Defiance, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006 in Van Buren.
Prior to her retirement she was a clerk with Woolworth Drug Store in Defiance.
Surviving are a daughter Joyce Ribler of Van Buren, Ark.; a son, Bruce Gossman of Van Buren, Ark.; two grandchildren, Cherie Murry and Mark Gossman, both of Van Buren; and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the St. Paul Lutheran cemetery in Arlington, Ohio. Local arrangements are being handled by the Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold.
Jeannine A. Bates
(Died May 31, 2015)
Jeannine A. Bates, age 79, of Morenci, passed away in her home on Sunday morning, May 31, 2015.
Jeannine was born in Wauseon on April 20, 1936, the daughter of James and Alberta Etta (Eicher) Croninger. On August 19, 1956 she married
Alvin F. Bates, and he preceded her in death in 1988. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Burlington and a devout member of the church choir. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading, needlepoint, crocheting and sewing.
Surviving is one daughter, Theresa (Thomas) Pobanz of Morenci; four sons, Frank (Lorena) Bates of Lawton, OK, Fred (Deb) Bates of Wauseon, Jonathan (Jacqueline) Bates and James (Jill) Bates, both of Fayette. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gwen Kruse of Archbold. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Ralph H. Croninger.
Visitation for Jeannine will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, at St. James Lutheran Church in Burlington, with the Rev. James Strawn, officiating. Interment will be in the Butler cemetery, near Chesterfield. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Lutheran Mission Society or St. James Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
Marjorie M. Warner
(1925 - 2006)
EDGERTON - Marjorie M. Warner, 81, Edgerton, died at 2:51 a.m. Saturday, Dec., 2, 2006, after a brief illness.
Born on March 22, 1925, in Muncie, Ind., she was the daughter of Edith (DeHaven) and George Walburn.
She married
Max G. Warner on Jan. 25, 1947, in Oceola, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1985.
Surviving are two daughters, Sheila (Gary Rohrs) Cress of Hicksville and Mrs. Brad (Sherry) Martin of Miamisburg; a son, Brad (and wife, Lisa) Warner of Edgerton; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers, William and Dennis Walburn, both of Muncie, Ind.; and six nephews and nieces.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jesse "Red" Walburn.
Visitation will be from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Brad Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove cemetery, Edgerton.
Memorials may be given to the Edgerton Area Foundation.

Jane Zimmerman
(1912 - 2006)
Jane C. Zimmerman, 93, Bryan, died at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at University Medical Center, Toledo, where she had been a patient one day.
A graduate of Bryan High School, she began her working career as a teller at First National Bank in Bryan. She also worked at the former Lindsay Auto Sales as a bookkeeper for 15 years, and was employed by the ARO Corporation as a clerk in the cost department when she retired.
Mrs. Zimmerman was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bryan where she formerly served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon and elder. She was also active in the Women's Group at the church. She was a charter member of the Literary Forum in Bryan.
Born in Bryan on Dec. 3, 1912, she was the daughter of Tasy (Kline) and Ernest E. Culbertson. She married
Wallace R. Zimmerman on April 7, 1934, in Bryan, and he preceded her in death on July 21, 1979.
Surviving are a niece, Mrs. John (Susan) Martin of Bryan; two nephews, Jon (and wife, Deborah) Butler of Presque Isle, Mich., and Dr. Paul (Jennifer) Butler of Okemos, Mich.; great-nephews, David (Lisa) Martin, Scott Martin, Matthew (Samantha) Martin, Joseph (Kali) Smith and Kevin Butler; great-nieces, Mrs. Kyle (Lisa) Cleland, Kristin Butler and Kara Butler; great-great-niece, Isabelle Martin; great-great-nephew, Wyatt Smith; and a brother - in - law, Donald Butler.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Margaret Butler; her adopted brother, Dr. Foster Kline; and a nephew, Donald Butler, Jr.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home in Bryan, and 10 - 11 a.m. Friday in the First Presbyterian Church, 506 Oxford Drive, Bryan.
Funeral services will be at the church at 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor Rob Marrow officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Grove cemetery, Bryan. Memorials may be given to the church. .
Farrolle L. Wheeler
(1908 - 2006)
STRYKER - Farrolle L. Wheeler, 98, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006 at her son's home in Stryker.
Born Aug. 2, 1908 to Rosie and Ben Milburn, she married
Fredrick Wheeler on Jan. 3, 1940 and he precedes her in death. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her son, Daniel M. Wheeler of Stryker; a daughter, Pam (Doyle) Dickerson of Shelly, Ind.; grandchildren Jon Wheeler of Indianapolis, Ind., Ben (and fiancˇe Melinda, daughter Michaela) Wheeler of Garrett, Aaron (Leann) Wheeler of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Scott (Kristi) Dickerson of Sarasota, Fla.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Roxann Emery

EDGERTON - Roxann Emery, 45, of Edgerton, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, at the Dilworth Center of Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Montpelier.
Born Sept. 15, 1961, at Montpelier, she was the daughter of Nancy J. (Mercer) and Lyle L. Allomong. A 1980 graduate of Mountain Grove High School in Missouri, she had worked for Thermatru Corp. in Butler, Ind., for the past two years, as a door assembly person. She had previously worked at Bohn Aluminum in Butler for approximately seven years.
Surviving are her parents, Lyle and Nancy Allomong of Edon; two sons, Ricky E. Emery and Justin L. Emery, both of Mountain Grove, Mo.; two brothers, Stanley (and wife, Lanora) Allomong of Montpelier and Noah (and fiancee, Natasha) of Jacksonville, N.C.; a sister, Vickie L. Allomong of Edon; and very close friend, Jerry K. Putnam of Edgerton.
Visitation will be Monday after 1 p.m. until the time of service in the First Presbyterian Church, Montpelier.
Funeral services will be Monday at 5 p.m. in the church with the Rev. David E. Tilly to officiate. Interment will be Friday, Dec. 8, at the Edon cemetery.
Memorials may be made to CHWC - Hospice or the First Presbyterian Church, Montpelier.

Claude Garland
(1931 - 2006)
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Claude Garland, 75, of Franklin Township, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility.
Born Feb. 5, 1931, in Relief, N.C., to Ollie (Eastridge) and Geter Garland, he married
Mary Lou Siebenaler, formerly of Edon, Ohio, on Dec. 2, 1961, at Monroe, and she survives.
He was employed by Dick's Body Shop in Tecumseh.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Claude Garland Jr. of Johnson city, Tenn. and Allan (and wife, Cindy) Andrews of Tipton; four daughters, Mrs. Eddie (Linda) Bennett of Johnson City, Tenn., Brenda Garland of Jonesborough, Tenn., Mrs. Clifford (Rose) Randall of Adrian and Vicky Mason (and special friend, Louie Secon) of Palmyra; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
At his earlier request, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service. A family memorial dinner was held Saturday, Nov. 25, at the family home.
Memorials may be made to Great Lakes Hospice, American Lung Association or Macular Degeneration Association.
