Alice Buchanan
(1920 - 2007)
Alice Buchanan, 86, passed away Wednesday night, February 21, 2007, at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold, Ohio. Mrs. Buchanan worked at the Ohio Art Company, Bryan, for 21 years on the Etch - A - Sketch line and at Harborside Healthcare Center, Bryan, for 13 years before her retirement.
Mrs. Buchanan was born on August 11, 1920 at Alma, Michigan, the daughter of Hurmia (Moore) and Ivan Uran. She married
Warren Buchanan and he preceded her in 1987.
Surviving Mrs. Buchanan are her children and families: Beverly Ruffer of Archbold and her children; Wendi Wilson and husband, Wendell, daughter - in - law, Susan Ruffer, five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; Sandy Gorny and husband, Toby, of Bryan, children, Kassie Smith and husband, Matt, Scott Dean and wife, Chris, and five grandchildren; Connie Baughman and husband, Larry, of Coldwater Lake, Michigan, and children, Troy Baughman and wife, Tricia Joy, and Tricia Jo Baughman; and Michael Buchanan and wife, Karen, of West Unity and family, Kelly Trefzger and husband, Cris, Eric Buchanan and eight grandchildren.
Preceding Mrs. Buchanan, in addition to her father, Ivan Uran and her mother, Hurmia Moore Uran Garber, were two brothers, Walter "Pete" Uran and Charles "Mike" Uran, and one grandson, Derrick (Rick) Ruffer and one granddaughter, Julie Buchanan.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Alice Buchanan will be Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Oberlin - Ford Funeral Home, Bryan with Pastor Charles Gautsche officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Grove cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, February 23, from 3 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Gifts in loving memory of Alice Mae Buchanan may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Steve W. Krontz Sr.
(1945 - 2007)
MONTPELIER - Steve W. Krontz Sr., 61, of Montpelier, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at his residence.
Born Sept. 20, 1945, in Noble County, Ind., he was the son of Mary Francis (Allen) and Denton W. Krontz.
He had been employed as a general laborer at Mohawk Tool, Challenge Cook Bros. and Winzeler Stamping.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. David (Lori) Cohen of Hampton, Va.; four sons, Lonnie (and wife, Lorraine) Smith of Edgerton, Steve (Karen) Krontz Jr. of Columbus, Curtis (Misty) Mason of Edon and Mark A. Mason of Columbia; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Denton (Mary) Krontz II of Bryan and John Thrailkill of Montpelier; a sister, Mary Ann Krontz of Montpelier; and his fiancee, Sharon Mills of Montpelier.
A memorial dinner will be Friday at 4 p.m. in the Montpelier Eagles Lodge. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Hospice.
Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier is in charge of arrangements.
Sarah Elizabeth Brown
GULF BREEZE, Fla. - Sarah Elizabeth Brown, 16, of Gulf Breeze, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola, as the result of an automobile accident in Pensacola.
A sophomore at Gulf Breeze High School, she was a member of the Key and Optimist's Clubs, had been a junior high cheerleader, and had played basketball, soccer and baseball.
Included among her survivors are her mother and stepfather, Kristen and Edward Sanders; a brother, Jamison; her father, Brad Brown of Orange Beach; maternal grandparents, Nancy and Richard Buchs of Gulf Breeze and formerly of Bryan and Archbold, Ohio; paternal grandmother, Linda Limes; paternal great-grandmother, Nita Limes of Fairhope, Ala.; many aunts, uncles and cousins, including, aunts Julie Clark Robinson of Cleveland, Ohio, and Sabrina Kim Bell of Edgerton, Ohio, and cousins, Josh Giesige of Bowling Green, Ohio, Nate Giesige of Edgerton, Ohio, and Shauna Bell of Angola, Ind.
Her grandfather, Butch Clark, formerly of Bryan and Holgate, Ohio, preceded her in death.
Services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church with a gathering to follow at the church's fellowship hall.

Zetta Ames
(1913 - 2007)
Zetta May Ames, 93, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at Harborside Healthcare Northwestern Ohio - Bryan.
Born May 11, 1913, in Defiance County, to Dora (Sellers) and Grover Peters, she married
Oren Ames on Oct. 20, 1940, at First Lutheran Church in Bryan, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 1980.
A farmer's daughter and a farmer's wife, she was involved in farming activities her entire life. In her later years, she focused on farm management. She was also the first registered x - ray technician at Bryan's Cameron Hospital, now Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Bryan.
A member of First Lutheran Church in Bryan, she was active in many of the church's organizations, including serving as a Sunday school teacher for 40 years.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Dr. Robert (Hyla) Sharrock of Bryan and Mrs. Earl (Kerry) Sutter of Bryan; five grandchildren, Mrs. Damian (Dr. Carolyn) Dorsten of Bryan, Mrs. Matthew (Dr. Robin) Mills of Fort Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Justin (Emily) Harrington of Columbus, and Nathan and Matthew Sutter, both of Bryan; two great-grandchildren, Johnathan and Katherine Dorsten of Bryan; a sister, Mrs. Richard (Lois) Boucher of Bryan; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Carol Lee Ames; and a brother, Olen Peters.
Visitation will be Friday from 3 - 5 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. in the Burr Funeral Home and Crematory, Bryan.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the First Lutheran Church of Bryan with the Rev. Richard Franks to officiate. Burial will follow in Shiffler cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church of Bryan.
Janis M. Bunnell
(1938 - 2007)
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Janis Bunnell, 68, of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at Fort Wayne.
Born Oct. 8, 1938, at Bryan, Ohio, she was the daughter of Eloise (Engle) and Virgil Pursel. Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a cook at Lester's Diner and as a security officer with Securitas.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Anna) Nave of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Howard (Virginia "Ginny") Clark of Fremont and Mrs. Chuck (Denise) Starry of Antwerp, Ohio; two sons, Harry (and wife, Tina) Bunnell of Montpelier, Ohio, and James (Kathy) Bunnell of Van Wert, Ohio; six grandchildren, Scott, Daniel, Stephanie, Justin, Darbie and Dylan; and a sister, LouAnna Grant of Defiance, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Leah Carr.
Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Burr Funeral Home and Crematory, Bryan.
Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Shiffler cemetery near Pulaski.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Fort Wayne or Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Hospice.
Eva Charlotte Briskey
(1936 - 2007)
WALDRON, Mich. - Eva Briskey, 70, of Waldron, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, at home.
Born March 1, 1936, at Leipzig, Germany, to Charlotte (Sand) and Erich Knobloch, she married
James P. Briskey on Feb. 27, 1960, at Hudson, Mich., and he preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 2006.
She had immigrated to the United States in 1957 and settled in the Waldron area. She worked at Kroger Egg Company in Hudson, Ohio Art in Bryan, Ohio and, with her husband, owned the Briskey Elevator, Prattville Fertilizer & Grain and Pittsford Grain.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hudson, served on the Morenci Hospital Board and assisted on the Wright Township Election Board.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Larry (Barbara) Fether of Pittsford, Mrs. Douglas (Mary) Shatter of Livonia, Teresa Boyer of Wauseon, Ohio and Mrs. Brian (Donna) Suboski of Alvordton, Ohio; a son, William Briskey of Hudson; three sisters, Ursula, Karin and Jutta of Germany; two brothers, Eberhard and Dietmar of Germany; 16 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Liese Briskey in infancy; a sister, Giesela; and two brothers, Lothar and Roland.
Visitation will be Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. with a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. in the Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Eberle as celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary cemetery in Hudson.
Memorials may be made to Fr. H. Paul Ruddy Education Endowment Fund or Hospice of Hillsdale County.
Opal Marie Fager
(1920 - 2007)
DELTA - Opal Marie Fager, 86, of Delta, died Wednesday night, Feb. 14, 2007, at Fulton Manor in Wauseon.
Born July 18, 1920, in Mark Township, Defiance County, to Olive (Hosler) and Charles O. Reeb, she married
Ronald L. Foulk of Toledo in 1946 and he preceded her in death in October 1979. She later married
Leonard Fager of Delta in August of 1989 and preceded her in death in November 2002.
A 1938 graduate of Mark Twp. High School and a 1943 graduate of the Robinwood Hospital School of Nursing in Toledo, she was employed for several years at Mercy Hospital and for 35 years with Doctors Foley, Cummins and Sinky in Toledo, retiring in 1989. She was a full - time caregiver for her husband Leonard for eight years before his death.
She attended the United Brethren Church and St. Caspar Catholic Church.
Surviving is a sister, Mrs. William (Mildred) Weaner of Sherwood; seven stepchildren, the Rev. Ronald L. (and wife, Ginny) Foulk Jr. of Eaton, Thomas (Julie) Foulk of Oregon, James Foulk, Gary (Ginny) Fager of Delta, Paul (Sue Ann) Fager of Wauseon, Mrs. Ronald (Valerie) Betschman of Monroeville and Pam Fager; close friend, Becky Roth of Toledo; 10 stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; seven nephews and three nieces.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Daniels in December of 2006 and Hazel Bryan in 1971.
Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 Ohio 109, Delta.
A funeral service will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the chapel. A public committal service will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the mausoleum chapel of Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Toledo.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties, Fulton County Humane Society, Zion United Methodist Church, Delta, St. Caspar Catholic Church, Wauseon or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Evelyn J. Yoder
(Died May 2, 2015)
Evelyn J. Yoder, age 60, passed away Saturday evening, May 2, 2015 at Toledo Hospital.
Evelyn was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 16, 1954, the daughter of Frank and June (Collins) Grames. On July 21, 1973 she married
Ervin Yoder in Toledo, and he survives. She was a member of St. Caspar Catholic Church in Wauseon. She was also a member of the Wauseon VFW Post 7424 Ladies Auxiliary, the Wauseon American Legion Post 265 Ladies Auxiliary and the Fulton County Honor Guard Auxiliary.
Surviving besides her husband, Ervin, are five children, June Yoder of Wauseon, Lamar (Anne) Yoder of Blissfield, MI, Amanda (Robert) Booth of Wauseon, Zebulon Yoder of San Diego, CA, and Meagan Yoder of Wauseon. 10 grandchildren, Desiree (Jacob Cocke) Allen, Derek Allen, Brianna Allen, Addison Moll, Cambron Moll, Kimberle Booth, Ben Booth, Bailey Booth, Gavin Yoder and Bentley Yoder Tolle; two great-grandchildren, Zane and Jaxson Cocke. Also surviving are two brothers, Douglas Grames and Frank Grames, both of Toledo, and two sisters, Linda Meyer and Ann Shively, both of Toledo. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jase Cocke of Wauseon; sister, Marie Glass of Toledo and brother, Dalton Grames of Toledo.
Visitation for Evelyn will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon, where the funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 P.M. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Wauseon VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements.
Nolan Ashton Andricks

Nolan Ashton Andricks, infant son of Angela Simonis and Michael Andricks, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at the St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
He was born Jan. 15, 2007.
Surviving are his parents of North Baltimore; a brother, Austin Michael Andricks; a sister, Katrina Marie Dotson; paternal grandmother, Marlene Pauff of North Baltimore; paternal grandfather, Grover (and wife, Glendene) Andricks of Bowling Green; maternal grandmother, Ellen Simonis of Sherwood; maternal grandfather, Joseph Simonis of Defiance; maternal great-grandmother, Pat Nusbaum of Sherwood; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be Friday from 1 - 2 p.m. in the Burr Funeral Home & Crematory of Bryan. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Shiffler cemetery.

Robert D. Hicks, Jr.
(Died May 5, 2015)
Robert D. Hicks, Jr., age 66, of Stryker, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 5, 2015 at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. Prior to his retirement, he had been a banker with the former Tiffin Valley Bank and the former First National Bank, in Archbold.
Robert was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, on January 28, 1949, the son of Robert D. and Ella Mae (Hall) Hicks, Sr. He was a Air Force Veteran of the Viet Nam War. He was a member of the B.L.W. American Legion Post 311, in Archbold. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed coaching American Legion Baseball, golf, bowling, and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. He also enjoyed karaoke.
Surviving are his children, Kelly (Todd) Thompson of Archbold, Ryan (Alicia) Hicks of Stryker, Mandy (Sam) Dickinson of Stryker; and five grandchildren, Adriana, Gabriella, Evan, Lila and Corbin. He is also survived by three sisters, Willena McTee of Abbeville, LA, Carolyn Pietrzak of Toledo, Michelle Baker of Chapmansboro, TN; and former wife, Arlene Hicks, of Archbold. He was preceded in death by both parents and one brother, Wayne Hicks.
Visitation for Robert will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold, where funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Donna Stutzman, officiating. Military Rites will be accorded by the Archbold American Legion Post. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Archbold American Legion.
