Dorothy Jean Garrett
(1934 - 2007)

TOLEDO - Dorothy Jean Garrett, age 73, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2007, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Inpatient Unit, Toledo. She was born April 9, 1934, to Clyde and Ocie (Coop) Keith in Glasgow, Ky. Dorothy was formerly a longtime resident of Montpelier. She enjoyed crocheting and baking cookies for her grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Earl) Cooper - Grant; sons, Mike (Kris); Tony (Caroline) and Andy (Cindy) Carver; grandchildren, Logan, Trista, Tia, Todd, Tara, Cortney, Trina, Chris, Ryan, Brittany, Jeremy, Tajuana and Tamika; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Loretta (Herbert) Fox; Juanita (Charles) Davis and Betty Green, all of Kentucky; special daughter - in - law, Teresa Underwood; and faithful companion, "Princess."
Dorothy's family would also like to thank the Home Healthcare and Inpatient staffs of Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the loving care and support that they provided.
There will be no viewing, but a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

Marion Leroy Smith

Marjorie Lucille Hoover Smith
(1923 - 2006)

COLUMBUS - Graveside services with burial of ashes for Marion and Marjorie Smith will be Saturday, July 14, 2007, at 11 a.m., at the Floral Grove cemetery, West Unity. Marion was born June 3, 1923 and died Oct. 5, 2004, at Columbus. Marjorie was born March 17, 1923 and died May 28, 2006, at Columbus.
Both were formerly of West Unity and were 1941 graduates of West Unity High School. They moved to Columbus in 1948.
They are survived by three daughters, Mrs. Max (Kristine) Fout of Plain City, Patricia Smith (and Scott Brooks) of Lewis Center, and Mrs. Daniel (Kathryn) Donnell of Columbus; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding them in death were their parents, Blanche and Frank Smith and Golda and Frank Hoover; a son, David Allen Smith; a brother, James Smith; and a sister, Mary Boyer.
Hollingshead - Beck Funeral Home of West Unity is in charge of arrangements.

Kathryn M. Bernath
(1938 - 2007)

ARCHBOLD - Kathryn M. Bernath, 69, of Archbold, died Tuesday morning, June 26, 2007, at her home following a battle with cancer.
Born Jan. 30, 1938, at Grelton, to Marjorie (Howe) and LeRoy Dull, she married Robert Bernath on Nov. 13, 1955, and he survives.
A resident of the Archbold area for 40 years, she was a homemaker and a foster parent to 13 children.
She was a Red Cross volunteer and a member of the Pettisville Missionary Church, where she was a volunteer in the children's ministry.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three children, Lee Bernath of Toledo, Mrs. Steve (Linda) Schlosser of Stryker and Mrs. Joel (Lisa) Bailey of Archbold; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, Carl Dull of Illinois and Leslie Dull of Maumee; and a sister, Ruth Whitman of Liberty Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gilbert Dull.
Visitation will be Friday from 3 - 8 p.m. in the Pettisville Missionary Church.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the church with Pastors John Horning, David Dyck and Charles Kauffman to officiate. Interment will follow in the Lauber Hill cemetery near Archbold. Short Funeral Home, Archbold, is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the church or Hospice, The Caring Way, of Williams and Fulton Counties.

Leanna M. Eicher
(1913 - 2007)

ARCHBOLD - Leanna M. Eicher, 94, of Archbold, died early Tuesday morning, June 26, 2007, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home, Archbold, where she had been a resident for one week.
Born May 28, 1913, near Archbold, to Eliza (King) and Willis Augspurger, she married Chester Eicher on Dec. 10, 1933, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 1982.
A lifelong resident of the Archbold - Stryker area, she was a homemaker, helped on the family poultry farm for about 20 years, and later was a meat inspector for the state of Ohio.
She was a member of the Poplar Ridge Church of the Brethren near Defiance where she served in many capacities. She was also a volunteer at Care & Share in Archbold.
Surviving are a son, Fred (and wife, June) Eicher of Archbold; two daughters, Mrs. Merlin (Nancy) Fluckinger of Archbold and Mrs. Howard (Mary) Grime of Defiance; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Zelma Eicher; and two brothers in infancy, Orville Augspurger and Lyle Augspurger.
Visitation will be today from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Fairlawn Chapel.
Services will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Patricia Meeks and Chaplain Charles Gautsche to officiate. Interment will follow in the Pettisville cemetery. Short Funeral Home, Archbold, is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Poplar Ridge Women's Work.

Lawrence J. Shock
(1918 - 2007)

DEFIANCE - Lawrence J. Shock, 89, of Defiance, died this morning, Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Harborside Healthcare Center, Defiance.
Born May 14, 1918, at Defiance, to Etta (Kintner) and Loy Shock, he married Helen E. Beindorf in 1937, and she preceded him in death in 2000.
A lifetime Tiffin Township farmer, he was a member of the Poplar Ridge Church of the Brethren. Surviving are two sons, Roger A. (and wife, Jeanette) Shock of Defiance and Ronald E. (Velma) Shock of Evansport, six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jerry Shock; and a sister, Doris Heald.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Mast - Mock - Hoffman - Hanenkrath - Clevenger - Schaffer Funeral Home and Thursday from 10 - 11 a.m. in the Poplar Ridge Church of the Brethren, rural Defiance.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the church with the Rev. Patricia Meek to officiate. Memorials may be made to the church or to the Diabetes Association.

Ralph E. McBride
(1916 - 2007)

Ralph E. McBride, 90, of Bryan, died Sunday, June 24, 2007, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Bryan.
Born Sept. 18, 1916, at DeLand, Ill., to Cynthia R. (Farnsworth) and Bert W. McBride, he married Dorothy May Cliffton on Sept. 14, 1940, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 1, 2004. Having served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he was a foreman at Ohio Art Company in Bryan for many years before retiring.
He was a member of Lick Creek Church of the Brethren in Bryan, the Bryan American Legion and the Destroyer - Escorts Sailors Association.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mark W. (Sharon Kay) Adams of Cincinnati and Christine Ann Slusser of Tecumseh, Mich.; six grandchildren, Jason, Eric, Brian, Emily and Amanda Adams, all of Cincinnati, and David Roy of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. William (Marguerite) McNany of Warren, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Trudy Diane McBride; and 10 brothers.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Oberlin - Ford Funeral Home, Bryan, and Friday from 2 - 3 p.m. in the Lick Creek Church of the Brethren.
Funeral services will be Friday at 3 p.m. in the church with the Rev. David Miller to officiate. Burial will follow in Fountain Grove cemetery, Bryan.
Memorials may be made to the church.

Thressa E. Shaffer
(1922 - 2007)

WALDRON, Mich. - Thressa E. Shaffer, 84, of Waldron, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Bryan, Ohio.
Born July 15, 1922, at Waldron, to Myrtle (Rutledge) and William A. Shaneour, she married Earl R. Shaffer on Feb. 8, 1941, at Bryan, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on July 16, 1994. A life - long Waldron area resident, she retired from Fayette Tubular.
She graduated from Waldron High School and was a member of the Ladies V.F.W. Auxiliary in Waldron.
Surviving are two daughters, Earlene Ridgway of Edgerton, Ohio, and Mrs. David (Terry) Cramer of Hudson, Mich.; a son, Randall (and wife, Rosemarie) Shaffer of Angola, Ind.; a sister, Nora Double of Waldron; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and four brothers. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Eagle Funeral Home, Hudson.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Floyd Vincent to officiate. Interment will follow in Waldron cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Barbara A. Warncke
(November 12, 1933 - April 24, 2015)

Barbara A. Warncke, age 81, of Wauseon passed away Friday April 24, 2015 at St. Luke Hospital in Maumee. Prior to her retirement she had worked for the former Sterling Milk Company in Wauseon as well as being a homemaker, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Barbara was born on November 12, 1933 in Jewell, Ohio, the daughter of Otto C. and Nora O. (Travis) Meyer. She married Lester Warncke and he preceded her in death. She was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church where she had been active in the Ladies Guild. Barbara was a skilled seamstress and quilter.
Surviving are three sons, Mitchel (Ginger) Warncke, Jeff Warncke, and Todd (Amy) Warncke, all of Wauseon; two daughters, Robin (Mitch) Weinstock of San Diego, California and Joni (Scott) Goldsmith of Wauseon; grandchildren, Rachel (Michael) Drenning, Nicole Goldsmith, McCormick Warncke and Eli Warncke. Also surviving are two brothers; Clarence (Jean) Meyer of Defiance, Otto (Helene) Meyer, Jr. of Jewell and sisters - in - law, Genevieve Meyer of Jewell, Joyce Meyer of Sun City, California and Delores Warncke of Wauseon. Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband, Lester were brothers Mervin, Kenny and Willy and sisters; Lenore and Alois and brother - in - law Richard Warncke.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the St. Luke Lutheran Church with Pastor David Goehmann officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Luke cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00pm at the Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church or St. Luke Ladies Guild or the charity of the family's choice.

Wes D. Rupp
(Died April 27, 2015)

Wes D. Rupp, age 79, of Wauseon, went to be with the Lord on April 27, 2015. He was born May 27, 1935 in Wauseon to the late Alfred and Vera (Schrock) Rupp. He graduated from Wauseon High School in 1954 and attended Ohio University. In 1956, wes married the love of his life, Reta (Loreta) Bonar. They raised three sons and a daughter – Perry (Jana), Ben (Carol), Jack (Libby) and Lisa Rupp, and have been blessed with 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Wes is also survived by a sister – Carolyn George of Wilmington, NC, and two brothers – Ty Rupp of Rossford and Craig Rupp of Bryan.
Wes was a charter member of the Evangelical Mennonite Church and an active member of Crossroads Evangelical Church. He served on many boards, including various building projects.
Over the years, Wes was involved in many aspects of construction as an estimator and project manager; in 1992 he became owner of Napoleon Buildings Inc., retiring in 2013.
Wes always had a love of wooden boats and restoring them was one of his hobbies. Another hobby was his flower garden where he loved to spend time.
Wes played tennis in his younger years with friends, competing in local tournaments. He coached Little League teams and helped coach the first traveling All Star Baseball team. He took great interest in school sports and musical performances, especially his children’s and grandchildren’s. Wes and Reta enjoyed traveling the U.S., Canada, and in 2000, a trip to Europe.
Building a lifetime of memories over 59 years together……my cup runneth over.
Visitation for Wes will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Friday, May 1, 2015 in the Chapel at Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday in the auditorium at Crossroads Evangelical Church, with Pastor Matt Boyers and Pastor Tyler Quillet, officiating. Private interment services will be held in the Wauseon Union cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Crossroads Evangelical Church, Community Health Professionals Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements.

Eugene "Geno" Waugh
(August 9, 1946 - April 25, 2015)

Eugene R. “Geno” Waugh, age 68, of Wauseon passed away Saturday April 25, 2015 at the St. Luke Hospital in Maumee. Prior to his retirement he was a truck driver and owned and operated Waugh Trucking.
Mr. Waugh was born in Greenbriar, West Virginia on August 9, 1946 the son of the late Rennick and the late Faye (Windell) Waugh. On July 16, 1967 he married the former Marilyn Nagel and she survives. He enjoyed talking about trucking with his friends, and camping at Sunny's Campground with family and friends.
Surviving besides his wife, Marilyn are three sons; William “Bill” Waugh of Fayette, Brian Waugh of Wauseon, Brock (Carrie) Waugh of Delta, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Preceding him in death besides his parents were sisters Hilda Stutler and Aline Ellinwood.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday May 1, 2015 at the Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon with Maryann Reimund officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00pm. The family requests that charitable contributions be made to either the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Byron D. Ringenburg
(1924 - 2007)

Byron D. Ringenburg, 83, formerly of Montpelier and a long - time resident of Hillside Country Living near Bryan, died Sunday evening, June 24, 2007, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Bryan.
Born Jan. 2, 1924, to Blanche (Chrisman) and Harry Edward Ringenburg, he was a former Melbern resident and a Montpelier resident for many years.
For several years, he was employed as an assembler at Quadco Rehabilitation Center of Stryker. Surviving are a sister, Joyce Eidenier of Clayton, Mich.; two nieces, Mrs. Stephen (Randa) McCrea of Montpelier and Mrs. Roy (Peggy) Zimmerman of Clayton, Mich.; a nephew, Daniel Eidenier of Waldron, Mich.; five grandnieces and grandnephews; and an extended family of the many employees and caregivers at Hillside Country Living where he resided for over 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1958; his mother in 1984; stepmother, Lela Ringenburg Boyd in 1990; a stepbrother, John A. Chrisman in 1970; and a nephew, Lonnie Chrisman in 1970. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 - 8 p.m. in the Wilson - Geesey Funeral Home, Montpelier, and Thursday from 9 - 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Hillside Heritage Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the chapel with Chaplain Donald Love to officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside cemetery, Montpelier.
Memorials may be made to the Hillside Activity Fund or Hospice of Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers.
