Orville Edwin Richer
(1919 - 2008)
MESA, Ariz. - Orville Edwin Richer, 88, formerly of Wauseon, Ohio, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Mesa.
Born Dec. 26, 1919, at Wauseon, to Lucinda (Aeschliman) and Samuel S. Richer, he married
Velma Stuckey and she preceded him in death in 1976. They were the parents of five children. In 1977, he married
Shirley Godwin Glasford and she survives.
He was a businessman in Wauseon for many years. Following civilian public service during World War II, he opened a farm implement business. He later became a Studebaker - Packard car dealer and then opened a Ford dealership. He was also proprietor for many years of Exit 3 Motel in Wauseon and Lincoln Lodge Motel near Lafayette, Ind.
In the mid - 1960s, he opened Turnpike Travelers where he sold a variety of vehicles. He also opened a Honda motorcycle and Nissan car business in Bowling Green, Ohio, and a Honda motorcycle business in Van Wert, which he then sold to the managers of those businesses. He sold the Turnpike Traveler in 1977 and moved to Arizona for the winter months.
He was an active member of North Clinton Mennonite Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four children, Joe (and wife, Susan) of Toledo, Margaret (and husband, Robert) Smith of Iowa City, Iowa, Jim (Brenda) of Wauseon and Ned (Dorothy) of St. Charles, Ill.; two stepchildren, Debbie Glasford of Mesa and Greg Glasford of Carbondale, Ill.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and a sister, Lucille Gerig of Archbold. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gene; and a brother, Harold.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the North Clinton Mennonite Church, 831 W. Linfoot St., Wauseon.
A memorial service will be at the church at 3 p.m. Sunday. Funeral arrangements are by Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon.
Bud Ebersole
(1926 - 2008)
FAYETTE - Bud Ebersole, 82, of Fayette, died Monday, April 14, 2008, at Toledo Hospital.
Born March 7, 1926, at Fayette, to Ethel (Randall) and Earl Ebersole, he married
Geraldine Wolter and she preceded him in death on Nov. 8, 1968. He then married
Doris Stamm and she preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 2004.
He was a life long farmer in the Fayette area and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Surviving are five grandchildren, Lindsay (and husband, Greg) Michalkiewicz, Steve Ebersole, Leslie Ebersole (and C.J. Clendenin), Eric Ebersole (and Michelle Lawson), all of Fayette, and Amber Ebersole of Alvordton; nine great-grandchildren, Caleb, Destiny, Bransin, Kaiden, Riley, Lacotus, Kylee, Dylan and Jenieve; a sister, Rowena Kuhn of Fayette; a brother, Weldon (and wife, Irene) Ebersole of Pioneer; a special friend, Mary Jane Randall of Fayette; four stepdaughters, Diane (Lowell) Nafziger of Goshen, Ind., Donna (Larry) Thompson of West Unity, Susie Stamm of Archbold and Judy (Jim) Estel of Wauseon; three stepsons, Terry Stamm of Fayette, Curtis (Kay) Stamm of Archbold and Sammy (Joy) Stamm of Lewis Center; 11 stepgrandchildren and 16 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death in addition to his two wives were his parents; two sons, Loyal and Lyle; two stepgranddaughters; and a stegreat-granddaughter.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Eagle Funeral Home, Fayette.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Winston Hatcliff to officiate. Military interment by the Fulton County Honor Guard will follow at Pleasant View Union cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of donor's choice or to the family.

Jerry Lee Windisch
(Died April 8, 2015)

Jerry Lee Windisch, age 73, of Wauseon passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Mr. Windisch was born in Wauseon on November 6, 1941 the son of the late Clifford and the late Orpha (Mock) Windisch. On September 14, 1968 he married
Donna (Maust) Windisch and she survives.
Prior to his retirement he worked in the construction industry, specializing in road construction and cement finishing. He was a member of the Laborers Local #500 and the Cement Masons #886. He attended Crossroads Evangelical Church, was a member of the Fulton County Sportsmen's Club, enjoyed traveling, golfing and 'shooting the breeze' while drinking coffee with friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
Surviving along with his wife, Donna, are daughters: Jodi (Eric) Sauber and Jen (Troy) Banister both of Wauseon; grandchildren: Grant, Camden and Trenton Sauber and Oliviah and Jaden Banister. He is also survived by a brother, George (Arlene) Windisch; mother - in - law, Lodema Maust; sister - in - law, Sandy Sauder; and a special niece and nephew: Mike (Pam) Sauder and Michelle (Dallas) Rupp. Preceding him in death besides his parents were his twin sister: Joan Borton; father - in - law: Walt Maust and brother - in - law: Chuck Sauder. Jerry also leaves behind his faithful companion, Reagan.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, April 15, 2015 in the chapel at the Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon with Pastor Matt Boyers officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday in the church chapel from 2:00 - 8:00pm. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Sara's Garden, T he Seeing Eye Dogs of America, or The Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements.
Marie Pearl Cobb
ROCHESTER, Mich. - Marie Pearl Cobb, 101, of Shelby Twp. and formerly of Alpena, Mich., died April 12, 2008. She was the wife of the late Carl Cobb and mother of Alfred (and wife, Helen) Cobb of Sarasota, Fla. and formerly of Montpelier, Ohio, and Noralee (Raymond) Howe.
Surviving are six grandchildren, including Elizabeth (Christopher) Cullis of Bryan, Ohio, and Sue (Randy) McGowen of Sarasota and formerly of Montpelier; 10 great-grandchildren, including Chris (Stephanie) Cullis and Kimberly Cullis, both of Bryan; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Winnie Martin. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Landry.
Funeral service and burial will be in Alpena.

B. Jean Coblentz
(1929 - 2008)
HICKSVILLE - B. Jean Coblentz, 78, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at the home of her daughter in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. Born July 5, 1929, at Moroco, Ind., to Essie (Miller) and Dan Leichty, she married
Sanford 'Bud' Coblentz in March of 1952, and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker that loved volunteering at the Dove's Nest and the Bargain Box. She had worked for eight years as a cook at Yoder's Restaurant in Hicksville.
She was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd in Leo, Ind.
Surviving are two daughters, Sherry (and husband, Ken) Keller of Fort Wayne, Ind. and Brenda (Arlen) Stauffer of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; a son, Evan (Sallie) Coblentz of Hicksville; four granddaughters, Jaime Holle, Cassie Phillips, Abbie Coblentz and Mackenzie Booth; a grandson, Justin Stauffer; two great-grandchildren, Gracie Holle and Jaxson Stauffer; a brother, Elvin Leichty of Florida; and a sister, Violet (Amos) Kauffman of Florida.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister - in - law, Margie Leichty.Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville.
A memorial service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Brad Miller to officiate. Burial will be at Lost Creek cemetery, Farmer Township.

Robert A. Carroll
(Died April 10, 2015)
Robert A. Carroll, age 68, of Wauseon, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015 at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice. Prior to his retirement he had been a lifelong area farmer. He was also an accountant with Penrod and George and also for 20/20 Custom Molded Plastics in Holiday City.
Robert was born in Fulton County on March 12, 1947, the son of Owen and Nora Jane (Vaughan) Carroll. On July 12, 1969 he married
Paula J. Brashear, and she preceded him in death in 2011.
He was a member of the Wauseon Sons of the American Legion and the Wauseon Sons of the VFW. He was also a member of the Fulton County Soil and Water Conservation District, a past - president of the Ohio Federation of Soil and Water Conservation Districts, the Wauseon Jaycees, the Wauseon Elks Lodge, the Fulton County Farm Bureau, the Wauseon Homecoming, and had been elected into the Fulton County Agricultural Hall of Fame.
Surviving is son, David (Rebecca) Carroll of Wauseon; daughter, Natalie (Jeremy) Shirkey of Wauseon; grandchildren, Zachary, Megan and Jackson Carroll, Braden, Grayson and Ryan Shirkey; two sisters, Linda (Gene) Studer of Delta, Lisa (Glen) Aiken of Alpharetta, GA; and brother, Larry (Lorelei) Carroll of Wauseon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Paula, daughter, Tracey, and his parents.
Visitation for Robert will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday, April 13, 2015 at North Clinton Mennonite Church, where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, with Pastor Brad Faler, officiating. Interment will follow in the Wauseon Union cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice or the American Red Cross. Kathryn L. Meyer
(1923 - 2008)
ARCHBOLD - Kathryn L. Meyer, 84, of Archbold, died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home, Archbold. Born April 30, 1923, in Henry County, to Florence (Kutzli) and John Leupp, she married
Harold W. Meyer on Oct. 30, 1946, and he preceded her in death. She was a 1944 graduate of the Flower Hospital School of Nursing.
After graduation, she worked in the nursery at Monroe City Hospital until she received her state board certification. She then enlisted in the Army Nurse Corp during World War II serving at Camp McCoy, Wisc. as a 2nd lieutenant. She was then transferred to Oliver General Hospital, Ga. and was promoted to 1st lieutenant. After leaving the service, she was a registered nurse at the former Detwiler Hospital in Wauseon and then retired from Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home.
She was a member of St. John's Christian Church in Archbold.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharron (and husband, Richard) Hillabrand of Findlay and Laura (Drew) Gorton of Berea; three sons, Rodney (and wife, Phyllis) Meyer of Delaware, John (Jeannie) Meyer of St. Charles, Mo. and Brian Meyer of Wolcottville, Ind.; grandchildren, Michael (Jane) Gorton, Brandon, Michelle, Jane and Scott Meyer; and two brothers, Bob (Mary) Leupp of Archbold and Jim (Norma) Leupp of Stryker.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Mark, and four brothers, Hazen E., John L., Charles R. and Victor L. Leupp.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Grisier Funeral Home, Archbold.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. John's Christian Church, Archbold, with Pastor Erich Christman to officiate. Interment will follow in the Archbold cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Christian Church, the Fulton County Humane Society or the Women's War Memorial in Arlington, Va.
Ruby Lee Parent
Ruby Lee Parent (1918 - 2008) PIONEER - Ruby Lee Parent, 75, of Pioneer, died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home, Montpelier. Born June 18, 1932, at Defiance, she was the daughter of Beulah A. (Snyder) and Gilbert H. Parent. A lifelong Pioneer area resident, she graduated in 1950 from Pioneer High School and then received her B.S. from Huntington College in 1958. In 1967, she received her master's degree from Indiana University in Bloomington. She was a missionary for 11 years in Sierra Leone, West Africa, as a teacher. She began her teaching career in her hometown of Pioneer and then taught in Michigan for a while before coming to Montpelier in 1965. She retired in 1989. A member of Lake View United Brethren Church, Hillsdale County, Mich., she was a member of the church mission commission for many years. She was also a member of Book Talkers at the Pioneer Library, treasurer of the Williams County Retired Teachers Assoc., a charter member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority and Alpha Mu Chapter of Williams County. Surviving are two sisters, Eva Ann (and husband, Mike) Skerik of Fountain, Colo. and Ruth (Don) Ives of Haines City, Fla.; a brother, Charles Parent of Pioneer; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister - in - law, Ruby Parent in August 2003; and a brother - in - law, Eugene Denning, in March 1982. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home, Pioneer. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Lake View United Brethren Church with pastors Stephen E. Mary E. Baker
(1905 - 2008)
TOLEDO - Mary E. Baker, 102, formerly of Maumee and Williams County, died Thursday, April 10, 2008, at The Glendale in Toledo.
Born Aug. 26, 1905, at Monclova, to Emma (Sheets) and John Hertzfeld, she married
Andrew J. Baker and he preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 2003.
Employed as a telephone operator with the former Ohio Bell Telephone Company, she was very active and a former officer with the Grange Organization in West Unity, Ohio. She spent all of her life as a farmer's wife in Williams and Lucas counties.
Surviving are a son, Donald (and wife, Mary) Baker of Newport News, Va.; grandsons, David (Jennifer) Baker of Mechanicsville, Va., and Greg (Amy) Baker of Hayes, Va.; great-grandsons, Austin, Andrew, Alex and William August Baker; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Agnes Hertzfeld and Catherine Puhl; and brother, Henry Hertzfeld.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Maison - Dardenne - Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, where a scripture service will be at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home followed by the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Maumee. Interment will follow in St. Joseph cemetery, Maumee.

Mary Alice (Fritsch) Byersmith
Mary Alice (Fritsch) Byersmith, 79, passed away at home Friday April 11, 2008, after recently being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. For the past eight years, Mary Alice also courageously fought many complications as a result of a major stroke in 1999. For many of these years, she was able to live at home with the care and comfort provided by her husband, Lou, her children and special caregivers.
Mary Alice grew up in Richfield Center where she graduated as valedictorian from Burnham High School and attended the University of Toledo. Mary Alice and Lou continued to live in Toledo where they raised their four children. During this time, Mary Alice served as President of the Gesu School Mother's Club and was an active member of the St. Ursula Academy Mother's Club.
She was one of the founders of the St. John's Jesuit High School Mother's Club where she served as President of the Club and a member of the Board of Directors. She was later employed at St. John's Jesuit High School in the Development office and in the Presidents office.
In 1977 Mary Alice moved to Bryan, Ohio, where she resided for 20 years before moving back to the Toledo area in 1997. While living in Bryan, Mary Alice was President of the Women's Association of Orchard Hills Country Club where she was also a member of the Board of Directors. She was a student - teacher coordinator for BARC (Bryan Area Reading Coalition Literacy Program) teaching adults to read and write and served as President of Parish council for St. Patrick Catholic Parish.
For 10 years Mary Alice divided her time between her homes in Ohio and Arizona. She most recently was a member of the St. Joseph Parish, Sylvania, and Church of the Ascension, Fountain Hills, Ariz., where she was a member of Parish Council. Mary Alice was a former representative and chairman of an 11 - parish District for the Toledo Diocesan Assembly and was a perpetual member of the Little Sisters of the Poor auxiliary, Toledo.
Mary Alice was a loving wife and mother who is survived by Lou Byersmith, her husband of 58 years; son Larry (Maria) of Brandon, Fla.; daughters Carol (Terrance) Frass of Copley, Ohio, Mimi (Patrick) O'Connell of Holland, Ohio, and Lynn (John) Neel of Mesa, Ariz.; grandchildren, David, Kristyn, Colleen, Michael, Casey, Kelly, Kaitlyn and Kevin; sisters, Helen (Paul) Schmidt, of Swanton, Rosemary (Ted) DeBruyn of Virginia; brothers John (Shirley) Fritsch and Donald (Jane) Fritsch, both of Richfield Center, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lawrence and Emma Fritsch, Mary Alice was preceded in death by sisters Bernadine Natter and Katherine Gabel.
Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, today from 3 to 9 p.m. where the scripture service will be recited at 7 p.m. The funeral Mass will be conducted at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sylvania Tuesday at 10 a.m. Entombment is to follow at Resurrection cemetery, Toledo.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John's High School or Right to Life, or Catholic School of their choice. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heartland Hospice.
Leslie L. Hake
(1923 - 2008)
EDON - Leslie L. Hake, 84, of Edon, died Friday, April 11, 2008, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind., from complications of cardiac surgery.
Born April 13, 1923, at Edon, to Alice (Shearer) and Albert Hake, he married
Annabelle Messner on March 22, 1947, at LaGrange, Ind., and she preceded him in death on Sept. 28, 1995.
A 1941 graduate of Edon High School, he received a degree in agriculture from Michigan State University in 1949 and was a World War II veteran of the United States Army.
He was employed by the Ohio Turnpike, retiring in 1990 with 34 years of service, and was a lifelong farmer.
He was a lifelong member of the Bethlehem Christian Union Church and Edon American Legion Post No. 662, an honorary chapter farmer with the Edon FFA, and bowled in the Senior Bowling League in Bryan.
He also served 20 years on the Edon - Northwest Local Board of Education.
Surviving are four sons, Alan (and wife, Janie) Hake of Montpelier, and Rick (Cheryl) Hake, Terry (Trina) Hake and Jon (Vicki) Hake, all of Edon; two daughters, DeeAnn (and husband, John) Heller of Pioneer and Jackie (Glenn) Pelz of Montpelier; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Janet Simmons of West Unity; two brothers, Roger (Dorothy) Hake of Edon and Larry (Arlene) Hake of Edon; a sister, Phyllis (Richard) Dietrich of Bryan; and a sister - in - law, Barbara Hake of Edon.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Hollis Hake.
Visitation will be today after 2 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Bethlehem Christian Union Church near Edon with Pastor Phil Harris to officiate. Interment will follow in the Edon cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by Edon American Legion Post No. 662.
Memorials may be made to the Williams County Veterans Memorial Building or to Bethlehem Christian Union Church.
