James A. Lemons
(1935 - 2008)

James A. Lemons, of Bryan, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, his 73rd birthday, at the University of Toledo Medical College, where he was a patient after an extended illness.
Born Sept. 2, 1935, at Fulton County, to Florence (Butler) and Forest Lemons, he married Donna Joan Greek on June 7, 1963, at Angola, Ind., and she survives.
A 1953 graduate of Bryan High School, he had attended Michigan State University.
He was employed by Equifax as a field representative, retiring with 28 years of service.
He had also served in the Army Reserves.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Greg (and wife, Angela) Lemons of Bryan; four stepchildren, Cathy Bockover of Titusville, Fla., Brad (Nancy) Greek of Quincey, Jeff (Aimee) Greek of Minneapolis, Minn., and Judy (and husband, Bob) Hartman of Wauseon; two grandchildren, Kayla and Conner Lemons; eight stepgrandchildren; 13 stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty (Harold) Clark of Grover Hill and Nancy (Ronald) Brown of Butler, Ind.; and a brother, Jerry (Vilinda) Lemons of Bryan.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Lemons, and two sisters, Viola Parsell and Elnore Morey.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan.
Private graveside services will be held in Fountain Grove cemetery, Bryan, with Pastor Harold Clark to officiate.
Memorials may be made to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Home Health or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Betty L. Bingaman
(1922 - 2008)

Betty L. Bingaman, 86, of Bryan, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at the Community Hospital and Wellness Center, Bryan. Born July 7, 1922, at Williams County, she was the daughter of Sarah R. (Huntington) and Oscar W. Bingaman.
A beautician for many years, she had also been a cashier at a local grocery store.
Survivors include her brother, Dane Bingaman of Montpelier and a sister, Audrey L. Bingaman of Bryan.
Visitation will be Friday from 9 - 10 a.m. in the Oberlin - Ford Funeral Home, Bryan.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Dwight Bowers to officiate. Burial will follow in Edon cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church or an agency of the donor's choice.

Ira L. McIntosh
(1935 - 2008)

MONTPELIER - Ira L. McIntosh, 73, of Montpelier and formerly of Michigan and Paris, Tenn., died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at Harborside Healthcare Center Northwestern Ohio - Bryan.
Born March 10, 1935, at Bad Axe, Mich., to Marian (Steadman) and Ira O. McIntosh, he married Margaret A. "Peggy" Wilber on Oct. 22, 1983, and she survives.
A 1954 graduate of Bay City Central High School, Bay City, Mich., he then attended Lansing Community College.
He retired from Haldex Manufacturing, Paris, Tenn., in 2002. He had worked there as a manufacturing engineer for approximately 40 years. For many years, he taught swimming through the American Red Cross in Shiawassee County, Mich.
He had served in the Army in a recruiting office during peacetime and was a member of the Montpelier First Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a stepdaughter, Danni (and Bill Anderson Jr.) Jernigan of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a stepson, Todd (and wife, Melissa) Jernigan of Britton, Mich.; five stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Jay (Joanne) McIntosh of Bay City and Dale (Beverly) McIntosh of Saginaw, Mich.; three nephews, two nieces and four grandnieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Laurie Ann McIntosh.
Visitation will be Sunday from noon until 2 p.m. and from 4 - 6 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier.
Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the Montpelier First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor John E. Rumple to officiate. Interment will be at Maple Grove cemetery, Hudson, Mich.
Memorials may be made to the church or C.H.W.C. - Hospice.

Charles C. Scott
(1928 - 2008)

FAYETTE - Charles C. Scott, 80, of Fayette, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at his home. Born June 24, 1928, at Keystone, W. Va., to Ethel (Belcher) and Ben Scott, he married Helen Asbury on Nov. 14, 1968, at Lebanon, Va., and she survives.
He had retired from the Harrison Lake State Park in 1991 with 11 years of service.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are five daughters, Drema Contreras of Montpelier, Kathy (and husband, Eric) Cessac of West Unity, Debbie (Chazz) Prickett and Robin Spillman, both of Titusville, Fla., and Tammy (Donald) Amos of Fayette; four stepchildren, Phyllis (Tom) Smith of West Unity, Brenda (Emmerson) Branham of Marquand, Mo., and Barb (Don) Staffey and Rodger (and wife, Debbie) Lawson, both of Fayette; a brother, Don Scott of Key Stone, W. Va.; a brother - in - law, Jr. Asbury of Bluefield, W. Va.; 24 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jack Johnson, Claude Johnson and Peyton Scott; and a sister, Laura Scott.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Eagle Funeral Home, Fayette.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home with the Dr. Rev. Sam Wickard and the Rev. Winston Hatcliff to officiate. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Union cemetery, Fayette. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Union cemetery, Fayette.

Ronald Eugene Crisenbery
(1939 - 2008)

FLIPPIN, Ark. - Ronald Eugene Crisenbery, 69, of Flippin, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home.
Born April 4, 1939, at Fayette, Ohio, he was the son of Ruth (Climo) and Bob Crisenbery.
A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era, he was a retired truck driver with Ranger Boat Company in Flippin.
Surviving are sons, David and Mike Crisenbery, both of Flippin, and Gene Crisenbery of Bergman, Ark.; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; his mother, Ruth Crisenbery of West Unity, Ohio; brothers, Rick Crisenbery of Montpelier, Ohio, and Bobby Crisenbery of Bryan, Ohio; and sisters, Sharon Phillips of Waldron, Mich., and Shirley Cotter of Bryan.
He was preceded in death by his father; a son, Douglas; and a sister, Sandra.
Visitation will be today from 6 - 8 p.m. in the Eagle Funeral Home, Fayette, Ohio.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Devon Strine to officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant View Union cemetery, Fayette.

Frederick 'Fritz' Rosebrock
(1921 - 2008)

NAPOLEON - Frederick "Fritz" Rosebrock, 86, of Napoleon, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at his residence.
Born Dec. 5, 1921, at Ridgeville Corners, to Anna (Hasemeier) and Henry Rosebrock, he married Pauline Bischoff on June 1, 1947, at the St. John Lutheran Church in Freedom Township, and she survives.
Having served in the U.S. Army during World War II, he worked in maintenance at Dinner Bell in Archbold for more than 43 years.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Ridgeville Corners and Ward L. Adams American Legion Post No. 454 of Ridgeville Corners, and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Steven (and wife, Irene) Rosebrock of Hudson, Mich., Randy (Donna) Rosebrock of Defiance and Gary (Nola) Rosebrock of Napoleon; a daughter, Lynette Flowers of Napoleon; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Alvin (Evelyn) Rosebrock, Carl (Charlotte) Rosebrock and Henry (Mary) Rosebrock Jr., all of Ridgeville Corners; two sisters, Laura Bitzinger of Toledo and Henrietta Libey of Liberty Center.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Frieda Omeke, Clara Reynolds, Esther Rosebrock and Helen Rosebrock; and an infant great-granddaughter, Mya Nicole Rosebrock.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. in the Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, and Saturday from 10 - 11 a.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church, Ridgeville Corners.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery with military honors accorded by the Ridgeville American Legion.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Henry County or Zion Lutheran Church.

LaVern 'George' A. Creek
(1928 - 2008)

WEST UNITY - LaVern "George" A. Creek, 80, died Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 26, 2008, at Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind. Born July 26, 1928, at Alvordton, to Dorotha (Smith) and Andrew Creek, he married Jacqueline A. Sentle on June 4, 1954, and she survives.
A lifelong resident of the area, he attended Kunkle High School.
He was employed 34 years at Scott Port - A - Fold in Archbold, retiring in 1992, and was a member of the West Unity Sportsman Club.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 54 years, are two sons, Timothy (and wife, Patty) Creek of Wauseon and David (Julie) Creek of Ayersville; four daughters, Patricia (and husband, Mike) Hollstein of Alvordton, Cathy (Dennis) Borton of Tallmadge, Linda (Jeff) Arthur of Defiance and Sandy (Randy) Link of Bryan; 11 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Norman (Barb) Creek of Montpelier.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Elmer and Duane Creek.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Hollingshead - Beck Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the West Unity United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Floral Grove cemetery.
Memorials may be made to West Unity United Methodist Church.

William K. 'Bill' Degler Sr.
(1922 - 2008)

DEFIANCE - William K. "Bill" Degler Sr., 86, of Defiance, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance.
Born March 27, 1922, at Defiance County, to June K. (Knight) and Albert Degler, he married Patricia A. Leonhardt on Jan. 12, 1947, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 10, 2004.
A 1941 graduate of Defiance High School, he was a veteran of World War II, having served as an Army PFC with the U.S. Army Medical Corp.
A farmer and landscaper for many years, he was also a bus driver for 30 years with the Ayersville Local Schools. He was also a zoning inspector for South Richland Twp.
A member of Trinity United Methodist Church, he was a life member of VFW Post 3360 and Devil's Lake Golf Club, a member of American Legion No. 117 for 40 years, and a charter member of South Richland Fire Dept., where he was assistant fire chief.
Surviving are two sons, William K. (and wife, Mary) Degler Jr. of Archbold and Robert (Virginia) Degler of Defiance; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a special friend, Beverly Noffsinger of Sebring, Fla.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth Daoust.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 - 11 a.m. in the Mast - Mock - Hoffman - Hanenkrath - Clevenger - Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. George Reed to officiate. Entombment will be at Riverview Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Defiance County, with military graveside services by VFW Post 3360.
Memorials may be made to the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center and/or to Trinity United Methodist Church.

Louis P. Bishop
(1922 - 2008)

Louis P. Bishop, 86, of Bryan, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 26, 2008, at his residence.
Born Aug. 19, 1922, at Bryan, to Mary M. and Clair E. Bishop, he married Louise Priar on Nov. 18, 1945, at Enola, Pa., and she survives in Bryan.
A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving as an aircraft mechanic; he was a retired maintenance plumber at the former Aro Corporation.
He was a member of the First Brethren Church, Bryan, where he formerly served as a trustee. He was also a member of the Bryan VFW.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his son, Thomas (and wife, Orty) Bishop of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sons Michael and Larry Bishop, his parents, two brothers, three sisters and two half - brothers.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Burr Funeral Home & Crematory, Bryan.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m., in the First Brethren Church of Bryan, with Pastor Sam Schultz to officiate. Burial will follow in the Fountain Grove cemetery, Bryan.
Memorials may be made to the First Brethren Church in Bryan or the CHWC Home Health and Hospice.
