Eileen W. Lowder, age 85, of Gallipolis, died Saturday November 25, 2006 at Arbors at Gallipolis. Born November 25, 1921 in Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late Nevin H. and Lenora Root Wood. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband William Clifford Lowder, and 1 brother Thomas Eugene Wood, and by 1 sister Joan Miller, and by 2 infant sisters.
Eileen was a clerk for the Doolittle Drug Store and Price and Sons Drug Store. She was a member of the Chapel Hill Church of Christ.
She is survived by:

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday November 29, 2006 at the Chapel Hill Church of Christ with Evangalist Danny Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Pine cemetery. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. and at the church Wednesday one hour prior to services.
Michael W. Doyle
1930 - 2006
Michael W. Doyle, age 76, of Belpre, and formerly of Gallipolis, died Friday November 24, 2006 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg. Born August 17, 1930 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Simon Willard and Bridget Cecila (Bertha Ann) Burns Doyle. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his wife, JoAnn Mollohan Doyle, and by 6 Brothers and 1 Sister.
He is survived by 5 Childre: Michael Doyle Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, Sherry (Don) Brown of Marietta, Tammy Doyle of Columbia, TN, Justin (Mary) Doyle of Gillsville, GA, and Jodi Kay Doyle (Thomas) Ruth of Belpre; 7 Grandchildren, and 5 Great Grandchildren; 1 Brother: James 'Blackie' Doyle; 4 Sisters: Margaret Fiorvantie, Patricia Herrigal, Betty Stinson, and Helen Doyle.

John Gordon Oiler
1939 - 2006
John Gordon Oiler, age 67, of Bidwell, died Thursday morning October 26, 2006 at Holzer Medical Center. Born February 13, 1939 in Bidwell, he was the son of the late Roy and Hazel Lookado Oiler.
John was a retired Parts Manager and a United States Coast Guard Veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Haroldine K. Thomas Oiler,

Ronald Eugene Fent
1936 - 2007
Ronald Eugene Fent, age 70, of Gallipolis (Eureka Community) died Tuesday morning May 29, 2007 at his residence. Born September 4, 1936 in Springfield, Ohio, he was the son of the late Elijah and Helen Mae Fent. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by, 5 brothers, Bud, Bob, Bill, Tom and John Fent, and by 2 sisters, Mary Nickels, and Margaret Nickelson.
He was a retired United States Air Force Veteran, a Veteran of the Vietnam War; he retired after 20 years of service, 13 of which was spent in the Far East.
He is survived by:
Wife: Betty Henry Fent of Gallipolis who he married
on June 9, 1990 in Gallipolis.
3 Children: Ronald Fent Jr., John Fent, and Karen Fent all of Nevada.

Charles Chuck Whaley
1934 - 2007
harles E. 'Chuck' Whaley, age 72, of Gallipolis, passed away Wednesday evening, June 6, 2007 at his home under hospice care, and with his family at his side. Born November 6, 1934 in Springfield, OH. He was the son of the late Cecil Whaley and Sadie Jenkins Whaley.
Chuck was a 1953 graduate of Springfield High School; he served in the United States Army from 1954- 1955. He later received his Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Wittenberg College. He retired in 2004 from the Phillips Supply Co., where he worked as a salesman.

10 Grandchildren: Kelly and Katie Painter, Angie and Adam Carter, Nina Carter, Zane Whaley, Beau Whaley, Corey and Coby Tawney, and Matthew Cunningham.
1 Great Grandchild: Jalen Carter.
In keeping with Chuck's wishes, his body was donated to the Ohio State University, School of Medicine.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM. Sunday June 10, 2007 in the Bob Evans Farm Hall at the University of Rio Grande.

George A. Boswell
1958 - 2007
George A. Boswell, age 49 of Gallipolis, died Wednesday June 20, 2007 at Holzer Medical Center. Born February 8, 1958 in McKeeys Rocks, PA. He was the son of the late Charles L. and Estelena Turner Boswell. In addition to his parents, a stepson Chad Joshua Nunn, preceded him.
George was a truck driver for Foster Sales, and a member of Mina Chapel Church.

Earl Dwain Carter, age 47, of Kitts Hill, died Friday morning June 22, 2007 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington. Born May 23, 1960 in Wellston, he was the son of the late Billy Carter and Valine Burd Carter of Navarre, OH.
Earl was a carpenter and attended Bethlehem Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Tina Johnson Carter, who he married
on May 21, 2000. and by 6 brothers and sisters, Kathy Conzen of Massillon, Tammy (John) Karahuta of Navarre, Larry (Tonya) Carter of Navarre, Sharon (Jeff) Stahlman of Beach City, Kevin (Denise) Carter of Massillon, and Carrie Carter of Massillon.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Tuesday June 26, 2007 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral Home with Pastor James Sims officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 PM.
Stanley 'Gene' Earwood
1922 - 2007
Stanley Eugene 'Gene' Earwood, age 84, of Gallipolis, died Thursday afternoon June 21, 2007 at his residence surrounded by his wife and family. Born November 16, 1922 in Gallipolis, he was the son of the late John A. and Elizabeth 'Betty' Ward Earwood. In addition to his parents he was preceded by 4 brothers and 1 sister. He attended Gallia Academy High School, Gene was a World War II Navy Veteran, having been awarded a Purple Heart along with several other ribbons for his service in the European Theater.
After returning to Gallipolis, Gene worked at and retired from the Gallipolis Developmental Center after 31 years of service.
During his time in service he met Margaret 'Lucy' Jackson, a Navy Department employee in Washington DC. And later On December 8, 1945 they were married
in Rockville, Maryland. In addition to his wife of 61 years, Lucy Earwood, he is survived by his 2 cats, Squirt and Tiger, and his special caregiver, Peggy Wood, who was like a daughter to him.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Monday June 25, 2007 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Pastors Gene Harmon, Bob Fulton, and Ruth Ann Fellure officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-8 PM.
Gene will be greatly missed by his loving family and all his friends.

ark Wayne Ghee, age 45, of Bidwell, died Tuesday evening June 26, 2007 at his residence. Born April 1, 1962 in Clay County, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Jack D. and Suezanna Lushbaugh Ghee. He is also preceded by his grandparents, Jack and Flora Ghee.

Margaret Elizabeth Keels
1921 - 2007
During her life, Margaret Elizabeth Hill Keels, age 86, remained a vibrant, dignified, independent women. It is only fitting that on Independence Day Wednesday July 4, 20007 Margaret Elizabeth Hill Keels was freed from her recent health challenges. Following a May 2007 evening of gardening, Mrs. Keels sustained physical injuries from a fall outside her home. Since then, she was blessed to have received loving care and comfort at the Holzer Senior Care in Bidwell. Born in Massieville,Ohio, she moved to 'gallipolis in October 1949 following her marriage to Donaldson R. 'Dewey' Keels, who preceded her in death on January 16, 2007. She was preceded in death by her parents,William and Geneva Payne Hill and her brother Kenneth Grant all of Massieville, Ohio. She is survived by her daughter, Deidra Keels of San Francisco, CA. her sister, Edna Borden of Gallipolis, and her nieces and nephews. Her presence will be loving remembered by her devoted neighbors, India Cullen, Leslie and Hank Doss, Cindy Sexton, Beverly Watson, the David McCoy family, the Waugh-Halley-Wood family, and her many friends and family throughout Ohio. Deidra Keels will host a "Celebration of the Lives and Love Story of Donaldson and Margaret Keels" at 11:00 AM Monday July 9, 2007 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home. Margaret Keels burial will immediately follow in Pine Street cemetery. For a decade following Donaldson's retirement from ODOT, Donaldson and Margaret adventurously traveled throughout the country with the Gallia County Senior Citizens Group. John 'Jack' Wedemeyer
1933 - 2007
John H. 'Jack' Wedemeyer, age 74, of Sun City West, Arizona and formerly of Gallia County, died Sunday evening July 15, 2007 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born April 30, 1933 in Gallia County, he was the son of the late Walter and Amy Reese Wedemeyer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a brother, Walter 'Ray' Wedemeyer.
Jack was a United States Army Veteran. Following his time in service, he worked for 17 years for Ohio Bell, 8 years for American General Construction Company, and retired as division manager for underground communications construction company, Fifhel, after 23 years of service. He was a member of Sun City West Christian Church, and Patriot Masonic Lodge #496.
He is survived by:
Wife: Maureen Swisher Johnson Wedemeyer of Sun City West, AZ. Whom he married
on February 1, 1991 in Bull Head City, AZ.
3 Children: John Wedemeyer of Greenfield, IN., Tom (Cindy) Wedemeyer of Bloomington, IN., and Cindy (Steve) Powell of Crestwood, KY. A Step Son: Mike (Jeannie) Johnson of Avondale, AZ. 9 Grandchildren, and 1 Great Grandchild. A Brother, Marlin (Donna) Wedemeyer of Rio Grande, and a Sister, Lottie Lou (Joe) Long of Gallipolis, and several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM. Sunday July 22, 2007 at the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens, with Denny Coburn officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum.
