Jake C. Byler
May 15, 1925 - November 8, 2012
Jake C. Byler, 87, of Burton, entered eternal rest peacefully early Thursday morning, November 8th, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. He was born May 15th, 1925 to the late Crist C. and Elizabeth (Detweiler) Byler. Jake is now reunited with his loving wife, Sara, who passed in 2008.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Jake was ordained a minister in 1960. He enjoyed farming, making swings and other woodworking crafts.
Jake will be missed by: his children; Emma Byler, Crist (Lizzie) Byler, Jonas (Ella) Byler, Bill (Ada) Byler, Fannie (Melvin) Miller, Enos (Esther) Byler, Melvin Byler, Jacob (Mary) Byler, Lester (Mary Ann) Byler, John (Lovina) Byler; 65 grandchildren, 153 great-grandchildren; 1 brother; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends He is preceded in death by: his parents; wife; 1 grandchild; 1 great-grandchild; 3 brothers; and 4 sisters.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 9:30 A.M., SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 10TH, 2012 AT 16125 TAVERN RD, BURTON, OH with Bishop Enos Slabaugh officiating. Jake's final resting place will be in Hershberger cemetery in Burton, OH. Visitation will be anytime until the time of service.
Ross L. Kirk
February 26, 1935 - November 5, 2012
Ross L. Kirk, 77, of Troy Twp, entered eternal rest Monday morning, November 5th, 2012 at UH-Geauga Medical Center. He was born in Elk Twp, PA on February 26th, 1935 to the late Lester Kirk and Cornelia Martin. He leaves behind his best friend of 41 years and wife of 9 years, Darlene.
He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the Korean War. Ross was a self-employed advertising photographer. He was a past Post-Commander of American Legion Post #520 in Sun Valley, CA. He was also active in the VFW and enjoyed scuba diving, boating, piloting airplanes, carpentry, and spending time with his friends and family.
Ross will be missed by: his loving wife; sister, Jane; step-mother, Mary; brother-in-law, Jim Duralia; sister-n-law, Cheryl Duralia; 2 half-sisters, Suzanne and Sugar; half-brother, George; his dog, Sarge; and many friends. He is preceded in death by half-brother, Tom.
A Private service will be held at a later date.
Calvin I. Varner
September 10, 1936 - November 3, 2012
Calvin I. Varner, 76, of Huntsburg, entered eternal rest Saturday morning, November 3rd, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. He was born in Johnstown, PA September 10, 1936 to the late Percy and Louise Varner. He leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years, Myrtle (Foor) Varner.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Calvin retired as a press operator from Johnson Rubber in 2007 after 22 years. He also worked previously 25 years for Addressograph Multigraph in Euclid. Calvin has been an active member of Lighthouse United Methodist Church since 1970. He also enjoyed farming, auctions, and spending time with his family.
Calvin will be missed by: his wife; children, Debra (Tom) Mannion; Mark (fiancee Brenda Bowden) Varner, Kathy (Tom) Adams; grandchildren, Brianna, Kelsey, Cody, Haley, Lucas, David; 1 brother; 5 sisters; and many friends.
A FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 3:00 PM, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7TH, 2012 AT LIGHTHOUSE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 14780 MAYFIELD RD, EAST CLARIDON, OH 44033. Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, November 6th, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-9 P.M at the church.
Helen L. Grega
January 5, 1930 - October 26, 2012
Helen L. Grega (nee Schrock), 82, of Parkman, entered eternal rest Friday morning, October 26th, 2012 at Briar Hill Health Care Residence in Middlefield. She was born January 5th, 1930 to the late Raymond and Rose Shrock. Helen is now once again reunited with her loving husband, Thomas Grega.
She was a lifelong resident of the Parkman area. Helen enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking and spending time with her family.
Helen will be missed by: her children, Wayne Oliver of Nelson, Russell Oliver of Nelson, Rosanne (James) Pinter of Parkman; grandchildren, Raymond Oliver, John Oliver, Becky (Matthew) Gough; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 sister; and many friends. She is preceded by: her husband, and 1 brother.

Lynda M. Humbert
December 7, 1966 - October 18, 2012
Lynda M. Humbert (nee Cripple), 45, of Montville Township entered eternal rest Thursday, October 18th, 2012 at UH-Geauga Medical Center due to natural causes. She was born in Cleveland December 7th, 1966 to George and Patricia Cripple. Lynda married
Bob Humbert on December 11th, 2004.
She worked many years as a Dental Assistant. Lynda enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, and spending time with her family and friends.
Lynda will be missed by: her husband and parents; siblings, Candy Sanborn, Damian Coon, David Coon, Michael Coon; nephews, Michael, Ian, and Zachary; and many friends.
A private gathering of family friends has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made to the "Lynda Cripple Humbert Donation Account" at any Huntington Bank Location nationwide.
Ella B. Kauffman
October 19, 1917 - October 16, 2012
Ella B. (Shrock) Kauffman, 94, of Parkman, entered eternal rest peacefully early Tuesday morning, October 16th, 2012 at home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born October 19th, 1917 to the late Benjamin H. and Susie (Miller) Shrock. Ella is once again reunited with her loving husband, John S. Kauffman, who passed in 2007.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Ella enjoyed spending time with her family.
Ella will be missed by: children, Sarah (Noah) Miller, Henry (Sarah) Kauffman, Susie (Ray) Burkholder, Andy (Edna) Kauffman, Elizabeth (Samuel) Weaver, Crist (Esther) Kauffman, Anna Miller, Edna (Chester) Miller, John (Esther) Kauffman, Ella (Chester) Miller, Melvin (Alma) Kauffman, Samuel (Edna) Kauffman, Sylvia (Jake) Mast, Barbara (Eli Jr.) Miller, Elma Kauffman; son-in-law, John Slabaugh; 125 Grandchildren; 424 Great-Grandchildren; 21 Great-Great-Grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by: her parents; husband; daughter, Ida Slabaugh; son-in-law, Monroe Miller; and an infant son.
