Lena K. Baltosser
(1914 - 2005)
ARCHBOLD - Lena K. Baltosser, 90, of Archbold, died Monday, March 28, 2005, at the Archbold Hospital in Archbold.
Born Sept. 2, 1914, at Bryan, to Lydia (Ebinger) and Fred Walz, she married Paul H. Baltosser and he preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 1983.
Employed at Superior Carbon in West Unity for five years, she was a farmerÕs wife and homemaker. She was also an active member of the West Unity United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women.
Surviving are three stepsons, Tom (and wife, Ellen) Baltosser of Chassel, Mich., Jon (Cindy) Baltosser of Stryker and Don (Bonnie) Baltosser of Bryan; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Jane Gentit of Stryker; a stepson-in-law, Larry Rittenhouse; and a stepdaughter-in-law, Phyliss Baltosser of West Unity.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a stepdaughter, Sarah Rittenhouse; a stepson, Rodney D. Baltosser; two brothers, Christopher and Richard Walz; and two sisters, Mildred Reas and Grace Calvin.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Hollingshead-Beck Funeral Home, West Unity.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Ruth Ann Scoby to officiate. Burial will be in the Floral Grove Cemetery in West Unity.
Memorials may be made to the Quadco Rehabilitation Center of Stryker.
Paul T. Wilhelm
(1917 - 2005)
PAULDING- Paul T. Wilhelm, 87, of Paulding, died Sunday, March 27, 2005 at the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne, Ind.
Born Sept. 30, 1917, in Paulding County, to Mary Ann (Koenn) and Albert Wilhelm, he married Lela P. Wilhelm on Sept. 15, 1937, and she preceded him in death in 1993.
A retired self-employed farmer, he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulding. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau of Paulding County, a member of the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus and a former president of the Board of Directors of the Paulding Landmark.
Surviving are a son, Fred (and wife, Judy) Wilhelm of Meridian, Idaho; three daughters, Mrs. Tom (Jan) Zuber of Antwerp, Mrs. Jerry (Paulette) Beckman of Paulding, Mrs. Dan (Roz) Wendorf of Bryan and Mrs. Jim (Ellen) Gunderman of Whitehouse; two sisters, Mrs. Pat (Coletta) Clark of Paulding and Madonna Wonderley of Sherwood; 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Martha Wilhelm; three brothers, Justus Wilhelm, Louis Wilhelm and Ted Wilhelm; two sisters, Margaret Vogel and Clara Guilford; and an infant granddaughter.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. in the Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. There will be a rosary service at 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulding, with the Rev. G. Allen Fillman to officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Paulding.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Doris V. Carpenter
(1925 - 2005)
Doris V. Carpenter, 79, of Bryan and a lifelong Williams County resident, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
Born May 6, 1925, in Jefferson Township, to Ester Fern (Todd) and Earl R. Eberly, she married Millard F. Carpenter on Sept. 29, 1984, in Bryan, and he survives.
A 1943 graduate of Kunkle High School, she retired in 1985 as the Williams County treasurer after serving four terms.
Prior to serving as treasurer, she had worked in the treasurer's office for a number of years. She was a volunteer for many years with the hospital auxiliary and Church Women United Thrift Shop and was a member of other clubs and organizations in and around Bryan. She attended First Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Rickey L. Scott of Waldron, Mich. and Dennis (and wife, Linda) Scott of Bryan; a daughter, Mrs. Roger (Kathy) Detwiler of Alvordton; four grandchildren, Jeremy Scott, Tracey Carter, Korby Detwiler and Bryce Detwiler; three great-grandchildren; a stepson, Kim (Sharon) Carpenter of Bryan; two stepgrandchildren, Douglas Carpenter and Christopher Carpenter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ernest Scott Jr. in 1978 and a sister, Helen Pitts.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home-Montpelier.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Robert J. Marrow to officiate. Interment will be in Shiffler Cemetery, Bryan.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Ada Louise Genter
(1917 - 2005)
PETTISVILLE - Ada Louise Genter, 87, of Pettisville, died Friday, March 25, 2005, at Fulton Manor in Wauseon.
Born July 24, 1917, to Della (Feather) and Philip Weber, in German Township, she married Olen V. Genter on Dec. 26, 1948, at the Evangelical and Reformed Church in Archbold, and he survives. She graduated from Pettisville High School in 1935 and the Davis Business College of Toledo. She worked as a school secretary in the Pettisville School Office from 1936-1950 and as the clerk of its school board for many years. For a short time she drove a school bus and taught typing, shorthand and bookkeeping. She had also farmed with her husband and operated a dog kennel with her daughter.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Archbold where she sang in the church choir and a member of the Fulton County Farm Bureau.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lee (Donna) Andre of Tecumseh, Mich., Mrs. Roy (Diana) Colon of Pettisville and Marlene Genter of Napoleon; a son, Dean (and wife, Kathy) Genter of Pettisville; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a brother, Earl (Hazel) Weber of Pettisville.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary and Carrie Weber; an infant son, James Henry Genter; and a granddaughter, Amber Danae Riegsecker.
Visitation will be held today from 2-8 p.m. in the Grisier Funeral Home, Archbold.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. John's United Church of Christ in Archbold with the Rev. David Voll and the Rev. Eric Christman to officiate. Interment will follow in the Pettisville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ.
Duane "Red" Tressler
(1931 - 2005)
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Duane "Red" Tressler, 73, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, March 25, 2005, at Hospice Home.
He was born Dec. 23, 1931, in Pioneer, Ohio.
Retired in 1991, after more than 30 years, from Bowmar as a parts inspector, he was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post No. 241 and Amvets No. 33. In the late '50s and '60s, he was a guitarist and vocalist in the country western band "The Trailriders."
He is survived by two sons, Kent Tressler of Fort Wayne and Kurt (and wife, Tiffany) Tressler of Warren; a granddaughter, Becca in Orland; a stepgrandson, Thad of Warren; and a sister, Darlene Gunn of Montpelier.
His wife of 47 years, Theda Mae Tressler, preceded him in death in 2001.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Elzey Patterson Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Lee Harner, 94, of Bryan, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at Harborside Healthcare Northwestern Ohio-Bryan.

Dolly Crist, 81, of Bryan, died early Tuesday morning, April 5, 2005, at the Evergreen Manor Nursing Home, Montpelier.

Myrtle A. Armstrong
(1948 - 2005)
Cheryl L. Hicks, 56, of Bryan, died Monday morning, April 4, 2005, at the Dilworth Center of Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Montpelier, after an extended illness. Born May 13, 1948, at Auburn, Ind., to Evelyn June (Miller) and Willard Easterday, she married Alvin B. "Boyd" Hicks on June 4, 1988, at George Bible Park near Montpelier, and he survives.
A longtime waitress, she was best known for being the morning waitress at the Bavarian Inn, Mohre's and Towne Commons in Bryan. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Montpelier, Bryan Moose Lodge 1064, Bryan Eagles Aerie 2233 and Bryan AmVets.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Scott Robert Pollick of Bryan; a sister, Judith Runyan of Bryan; a brother, Tom Easterday of Fullerton, Calif.; her mother, Evelyn 'Rusty' McCarty of Bryan; three nieces and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Edward Auchard to officiate. Burial will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan.
