Josh was born in Wheeling, WV on March 16, 1984, he was the son of Harry J. and Sandra Sue (Berletch) Caprita from Piedmont, OH.
He was an employee of Wheeling News.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Caprita
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Payton M. Kramer of Martins Ferry; two brothers, Todd Caprita; Jamie Caprita.
Services are private at the convenience of family.
ALBERTA "LEE" DOUGHTY
ALBERTA "LEE" DOUGHTY, 61, of Center Street and formerly of N. Zane Highway, Martins Ferry, OH, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015.
She was born in Martins Ferry on September 28, 1953, daughter of the late Albert Lee and Wilma Elizabeth (Phillips) Doughty.
Lee is survived by a brother, Albert L. Doughty, Jr. of Martins Ferry and a sister, Madeline C. (Anthony) Wilkes of So. Carolina.
Services are private at the convenience of family.
MARVIN ANDREW ('SONNY') ELIZEUS
MARVIN ANDREW ('SONNY') ELIZEUS, 76, of Sharon Road East, Bridgeport, OH, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015 at his residence.
Sonny was born in Cadiz, OH on June 19, 1939, the son of the late Martin and Dorothy (Taylor) Elizeus.
He was a retired foreman at Carvat Coal Cadiz, OH.
In addition to his wife, Judith A. (Doughty) Elizeus, he is survived by son, Adam (Rebecca) Elizeus, St. Clairsville, OH; daughter, Tina (Steve) Greer, Colerain, OH; two sisters, Shirley (Dean) McKibben; Marianne Millward; four grandchildren, Stephanie and Eric Greer; April and Paige Elizeus; beloved dog, Red.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Monday, July 27, 2015 at 12 noon, with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr officiating.
Interment followed at Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, 10686 St. Rt. 150, Rayland, Ohio 43943.
MICHAEL ANTHONY SALIMBENE, 'MIKE'
MICHAEL ANTHONY SALIMBENE, 'MIKE', 52, of St. Clairsville and formerly of Martins Ferry, OH died Saturday, September 5, 2015.
Mike was born in Martins Ferry, OH on November 11, 1962, he was the son of the late Anthony and Anna Mary (Shipley) Salimbene.
He is survived by two sisters, Melodie Conaway and Marianne (Nicholas) Stan, both of Martins Ferry, OH; nephew, Nicholas; nieces, Kristy, Briana, Toni, ; Mandy and Megan; step-son, Justin.
At the family's request there will be no visitation.
DOROTHY MAY EILER
DOROTHY MAY EILER, 87, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH died Monday, September 7, 2015.
Dorothy was born in Martins Ferry on December 29, 1927, the daughter of the late Arnold Lee and Geneva M. (Henry) Shrodes.
She was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Eiler; brother, Lloyd Shrodes and one grandson, Adam Eiler.
She is survived by three sons, Lewis L. (Diana) Eiler, Brilliant, OH; Bruce W. Eiler, Bridgeport, OH; Glenn N. (Patty) Eiler, Shadyside, OH; daughter, Renee (Robert) Burns, Carrollton, OH; brother, Bruce (Barbara) Shrodes, Martins Ferry, OH. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at Riverview cemetery, Martins Ferry, Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 1 p.m. with Rev. William O. Webster officiating.
Mick Janiszewski
Mick Janiszewski passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015, at his home in Wheeling, WV.
In 1949, Mick was born to Stanley Janiszewski and Theresa (Jackowski) Janiszewski. Growing up in Martins Ferry, OH, Mick quickly recognized his devout affirmation for the Catholic Church. As a young man, Mick was a big brother to Robert Janiszewski, an altar boy, a Knights of Columbus 4th degree member, and avid home run hitter at the Elm School playground.
After graduating for Wheeling Central, Mick went on to study at Bowling Green and Kent State. He moved back to Martins Ferry and worked with his family at the Pick N Pack Deli.
Shortly thereafter Mick realized his dream by becoming a police officer for the city of Martins Ferry. During his service he received the key to the city, found a lifelong friend and patrol partner (Bill Ellis) and recognized his passion for firearms.
In 1978, Mick met Cecelia (Petros) Janiszewski his lifelong partner and friend. They were married
for 36 years and on their honeymoon, Cecelia quickly found out about his love for the Browns and Pirates. Mick and Cecelia had two sons Patrick and Stephen. Growing up Patrick and Stephen remember their dad most because of his selfless heart, his great little league coaching ability, and his love for English Springer Spaniels.
Mick was an attempted carpenter, Yorkville Bakery fan, GTO nut, and an avid supporter of zero-turn lawn mowers.
Upon retirement, Mick and his family moved to the country and he went back to work as a teacher at the Belmont Career Center and later on; served as a Mental Health Technician at OVMC.
Mick was a very proud father, his oldest son was a war hero and his youngest son was a football star. His wife was an accomplished nurse and the love of his life.
He is survived in life by his wife and sons. He had several nieces and nephews, but Mary and Angela Petros were like daughters to him.

GLENN EDWARD GREEN
GLENN EDWARD GREEN, 83, of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at his residence.
He was born in Belmont, OH on August 19, 1932, a son of the late Labon Dale and Hazel L. (Brock) Green.
He was a retired Sales Manager at Contractors Supply, Wheeling, WV for 35 years. Glenn was a member of First United Methodist Church, Bethesda, OH; Masonic Lodge, Bridgeport, OH, Past Member of Osiris Shrine and Past Member of the Jesters of Wheeling. He was an avid sports fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers. He served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a twin brother, Gene A. and Wayne Green.
In addition to his wife, Marlene June (Spencer) Green, he is survived by two sons, Glenn P. (Amy) Green, Kansas City, MO and Sean D. (Roberta) Green, Elizabethtown, PA; daughter, Joni R. (Richard) Ortiz, Frenchburg, KY. He is also survived by two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Services are private at the convenience of family.
JERRY CRAIG
JERRY CRAIG, 75, of Reflection Drive, Martins Ferry, OH, passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at his residence.
Jerry was born in Martins Ferry on July 22, 1940, son of the late Henry and Mary (Sonk) Craig.
He was a retired employee of Conoco Phillips Co., Moundsville, WV; a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Colerain, OH; he served in the U.S. Army.
Jerry was an avid muskie fisherman and hunter.
In addition to his wife, Carol L. (Porter) Craig, he is survived by a son, Jerry Lee Craig, Charlotte, NC; brother, Gary (Goldie) Craig, Martins Ferry; grandson, Miller Craig, Charlotte, NC.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Colerain, OH. with Concelebrants, Father Tim McGuire and Father Dale Tornes.
Vigil service will be held Friday at 7:40.
Mausoleum entombment will be held at the convenience of the family at Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove, OH.

WILLIS LEIBERT SCARFPIN
WILLIS LEIBERT SCARFPIN, 77, of N. 7th Street, Martins Ferry, OH, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at his residence.
He was born in Martins Ferry, OH on May 16, 1938, son of the late Earl E. and Maude (Jeffers) Scarfpin.
He was a retired employee at the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Martins Ferry Plant. He was a member of the American Legion Post 38. Willis served in the U. S. Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie (Blust) Scarfpin; three brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by two sons, Willis L. (Valerie) Scarfpin, Jr., Yellow Springs, OH and David A (Kelly) Scarfpin, Cornelius, NC; three grandsons, Jared, Travis and Riley; granddaughter, Remini; two brothers, Robert L. Scarfpin, Martins Ferry, OH; Frank (Pam) Scarfpin, Minford, OH; three sisters, Eleanor Sindeldecker, Martins Ferry, Sharon (Robert) Ashworth, Sugarland, TX and Sarah (Tim) Harman, Tampa, FL.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at 11 a.m., with Justin Hill officiating.
Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
DORIS JEAN AULT
DORIS JEAN AULT, 86, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015 in Ocean Springs, MS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Captain William H. Ault; parents, Bertis and Monti Cockrell; and brother, Joe Cockrell.
She is survived by her three sons, David (Lynette) Ault of Madison, AL; Lt. Col. Jeffrey (Jamie) Ault, of Alamogordo, NM; and John (Jody) Ault of Biloxi; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A private graveside servicewas held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Riverview cemetery, Martins Ferry.
KERMA JEAN SCHIFFMAN
KERMA JEAN SCHIFFMAN, 83, of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away peacefully and went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 5, 2015, after lengthy health struggles.
She was born in Wheeling, WV on January 10, 1932, a daughter of the late Jesse William and Elnora (Groppe) Baggott.
She was a retired employee at the former L. S. Good & Co. of Wheeling, WV. She was also an Avon representative. She was a member of First Christian Church of Martins Ferry, OH, 3rd grade Sunday School Teacher for 42 years; Deaconess for 30 years and the Ladies Circle.
Kerma will be remembered as a strong fighter with great determination and upbeat attitude. She never forgot a birthday or to mail someone a card. She loved running around in her car and her husband often stated that she had a gasoline rear end. More recently she enjoyed watching Joel Osteen, Jeopardy and Judge Judy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Marvin Schiffman, Sr.; infant son, Dennis Lee Schiffman; three brothers, William, Thomas and Charles Baggott; two sisters, Ida Stone and Sylvia Gibbons.
She is survived by son, David M. Schiffman, Jr., Bloomington, IL; four daughters, Diane L. (George) Wiman, Normal, IL; Denise E. (Don) Powell, St. Clairsville, OH; Darla J. Lovett, Benson, AZ; Danna M. (Joseph) Palmer, Martins Ferry, OH; six grandsons, Joe Wiman; Lucas (Emily) Wiman; Christopher Wiman; Dan (Allison) Powell; Austen Schiffman; Alex Schiffman; great-grandson, whom she took extreme pride, Beau William Powell; two sisters, Sara Kettman; Lola Standifer; sister-in-law, Ruth Baggott.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home November 9, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Brad Johnston officiating.
Interment followed at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.

BRENT CLYD BROWN "BOOG"
BRENT CLYD BROWN "BOOG", 64, of Pattons Run Road, Martins Ferry, OH, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2015.
Brent was born in Martins Ferry on June 26, 1951, a son of the late Clyde Leo and Margaret Helena (Ensinger) Brown.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator.
He was a member of the Eagles of Barnsville, OH; Polish Club, Martins Ferry, Honorary Member of the Martins Ferry Fire Dept., Liberty Station and the Emergency Squad..
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timmy Brown.
He is survived by a son, Joseph Brown, Martins Ferry; daughter, Suzanne M. (James) Currie, Bloomingdale, OH; companion, Carolyn J. Deaton; six grandchildren, Justin, Branda, Tristen, Brent, Preston and Isaiah.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Friday, November 13, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Larry Lewis officiating
Interment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
